Chapter Text
It is the summer break for Second Year Class A. Unlike last year where they had that training camp (that later on went horribly wrong via villain assault), this time they were doing training at the school (safety concerns; the Paranormal Liberation Front may have been defeated and Shigaraki dead, but still don't excuse you from hero training even if surviving what was essentially a war).
Thankfully, Nezu agreed to allowing Saturday to be a day off as well. And today was Saturday.
"Deku-kun!"
There's a polite knock on the door. Izuku smiled as he finished putting on a shirt before he goes to his door and opens it after he grabbed his laptop. There was his cherished, Ochako Uraraka.
"Ochako-chan, morning."
"Good morning," she greeted cheerfully, hugging Izuku.
The two have changed the most since the war with the PLF, and have somehow become even closer than before. Yet, they STILL weren't dating. Shocker, huh?
"So, are you going to make breakfast? You DID say that you wanted to try to make breakfast for once."
"Yeah. I was just ready to leave until you came bouncin' up to my door."
She giggled.
"Well, maybe I did bounce."
He laughed, closing the door behind him. The two took the stairs and soon enter the common area of Dormitory 2-A. When the new school year came around, apparently they had to pack up everything and move out of the 1-A dorms and move over to the 2-A dorms, which was slightly bigger than the first building they lived at. Slightly bigger bedrooms. Like the 1-A dorms, they still had communal showers separated by gender on the ground floor. But this time, the living area was bigger, so was the kitchen (still stocked by the school every two weeks, but mostly groceries was now strictly on the students' budgets) and there was no gender separation when it came to individual living quarters. So friends could be next-door neighbors. For Izuku and Ochako, they were on the second floor and neighbors with each other.
Upon entering the kitchen, they see Shoto Todoroki nursing a cup of coffee.
"Morning, Todoroki-kun."
Shoto smiles softly. "Morning, Midoriya. Uraraka."
Izuku fetches two cups, handing one to Ochako as he pours them both some coffee. Each fix their drinks with a splash of milk, stir, and sip. Before, neither teen were coffee drinkers, but ever since the school finals and cramming hard to pass, they had taken upon the nectar of the gods. Sure, they both still enjoyed tea very much, but when it came to important tests that required a little boost of energy, or sometimes in the morning, they partook in coffee.
"So, what are you doing up early?"
"Waiting to see you cook, Midoriya," he says with a chuckle.
Izuku rolled his eyes, ignoring the giggle from Ochako.
Izuku started up the larger flat stove with the flat surface. In several minutes, the scent of food wafted in the kitchen and into the outside. As more hungry students enter the common area, they can smell something good cooking in the kitchen. They can hear Vocaloid music playing in the kitchen, too.
Basically, Izuku was making a monster breakfast menu consisting of mostly American staples: pancakes, sunny-side up eggs, diced buttered and peppered hash browns, sausage patties and links, bacon, pan-fried thick-cut toast. As the pancakes, eggs, and sausage and bacon piled onto serving plates, everybody helped themselves to what they liked. With either coffee, milk, or orange juice, everybody dug in.
"Holy shit, this is really good," said Eijiro.
"Simple, but it's nice for once to have a different type of breakfast, right?"
Momo smiled.
"This is really good. The eggs are done just perfect that the yolk is like velvet."
Izuku blushed at all the positive praise from his classmates. Katsuki kept quiet, adding some spicy pepper flakes to his food that Izuku slid to him.
"This is thick-sliced bacon, isn't it? Kinda expensive, Midoriya."
"True, but nothing but the best," the teen answers.
Breakfast was a nice change for everybody.
Ochako helped Izuku with the clean-up, which he appreciated her help. And of course they were able to keep company with each other. It made their other classmates wonder why they weren't dating yet. And as the morning wore on, inside the Development Workshop, Mei Hatsume was grinning as she finally finished with her latest invention.
"Yes, it's done!"
Her teacher Power Loader sighs to himself as he contemplates looking over from his computer. But the sounds of the door slamming open has him look up. Mei was missing and so was her crazy invention.
"Eh. Not my problem now."
He goes back to reading.
As Mei ran, she bumped into someone. Thankfully her baby was stronger than it looked.
"Oh, sorry, sir, I'm in a hurry."
Nezu laughs softly. "It's quite alright, Miss Hatsume. May I ask what this device is?"
The chimera had picked up the device which reminded the bear/mouse/dog of a DVR player.
"Well, once I plug it into a TV, I'll see if it works. Funny thing, I found this crystal that is half pink diamond and half emerald and blue prints on my desk at the dorm last night so I've been at work ever since building it. Supposedly it'll allow me to peek into another universe."
"Oh? Do you know who would leave this to you, the blueprints?" Nezu asked, concerned of the apparent unheard breech of security.
"Nope. Just a note from a guy named Sekai Ishtal telling me to have fun mind-fucking everybody at UA," she answers with her usual cheerful grin on her face. "Excuse me, I'm going to Class 2-A. I wanna see Midoriya and show this to him. He'll probably enjoy it."
And off she goes.
Nezu sighed. But color him intrigued at the prospect of viewing into a different universe.
✧・゚: *✧・゚:* (IzuOcha) *:・゚✧*:・゚✧
The door kicks open and the few not training at UA's gym looked up from the living room section.
"Hey! Midoriya! I'm here!" Mei cheerfully calls out to her favorite friend.
"Oh, hey, Hatsume. What are you doing here?"
She zips right up to him.
"I need to borrow your dorm's TV for my baby here, is that okay?"
And without waiting, she unplugs the gaming console, citing Denki Kaminari to cry out in dismay. She hooks up her baby to the TV using an HDMI device and plugging the power cord into the nearby outlet. Finally, she takes out the heart-shaped crystal. Izuku noticed the left side was pink and the right side is green. She jams the sharpened end into a circular input on top of the box. The crystal heart starts to glow warmly, and snow replaced the once black screen on the TV.
"Uh, why did you interrupt our game?" asks Eijiro.
"I dunno," she says with a shrug of her shoulders, pulling out a remote and pointing it at the device. She hits the START button, and the snow fizzled away, revealing a scene.
"Is that Midoriya?" Hanta pointed out.
Izuku stared. It was him, wearing a gakuran uniform.
"My baby I created with someone's blueprints left in my room allows one to peer into a different universe," Mei informs Izuku's classmates.
Izuku, Ochako, Shoto, Hanta, Eijiro, Denki, Kyoka, Momo, Tsuyu, Mina, Fumikage, and Toru stare at the TV. Mei stands behind the love seat where Izuku sits with Ochako and observes.
Izuku slowly looked up, his tears running dry.
"I guess… I have nothing left to live for. If even All Might says I can't be a hero…"
Izuku looked defeated.
Izuku flinched when he heard those words.
"Deku-kun?"
Izuku ignored the look of absolute concern from her.
Izuku looked towards the edge, and he slowly walked over. He then climbed up and stood on the ledge, looking down.
"What the hell is this?" asked Eijiro, looking fearful.
Mina was worried. "Midoriya… no… is he thinking about suicide?"
"Suicide?"
Ochako stared at the TV, but then to Izuku, who looked very pale.
"Guess… we'll see if he's right… maybe in my next life… I'll be born with a quirk…"
He spread his arms out and leaned forward. Gravity took care of the rest and he fell.
Everybody cried out in horror.
"NO!"
Izuku felt a stinging sensation on his face, and suddenly he's no longer falling. He opens his eyes and sees he's several inches from the ground.
"Release."
Izuku collapsed, groaning in pain.
"I recognize that voice," says Tsuyu.
"What were you thinking?" a girl yelled at him.
Izuku got to his knees and he looked up to see a cute girl with brown hair, eyes, and pink blush marks on her cheeks. She was panting a bit, as if she had run fast…
… Izuku then realized what he did. He started to scream. The girl was startled, but then she threw her arms around the boy and hugged her tightly. His screams turned quickly into sobs.
The viewers released their breaths they held. Ochako looked to Izuku, who looked pale still. She grabs his hand, pinky finger lifted, and gave a comforting squeeze. That got his attention. He looked down, then to her. He blushed a bit. She blushed, too, but gave him a look of concern.
"Deku?"
"I'll be fine," he whispers.
"Hey… why would you try to kill yourself? You have a lot of life in you. You got your whole life… you shouldn't do something like suicide… what would your parents think if they find out you ended yourself?"
Izuku sniffled, as he held onto the girl tightly.
"I'm sorry… I'm so sorry…"
"Well… thankfully I saved you. I was in the area and when I saw you standing on the ledge of the building, I ran as fast as I could."
"H-How… how did you save me…?"
"My quirk. It's called Zero Gravity. Whatever I touch I can remove its center of gravity and cause things I touch to float. I stopped you from hitting the ground…"
Izuku's head was down when she let go of him.
"I… I've always been hated my whole life. Bullied. No one liked me. And I met someone who I once admired. Even he told me that I couldn't be a hero without a quirk. So… I decided I would take some advice I was given… and take a swan dive off a roof."
Ochako squeezed Izuku's hand tighter.
"What about your mom?"
"She's the only one who cared for me… I… I had no one else… because I was quirkless…"
His tears renewed.
"I'm so sorry… no one should ever be hated like that." She grabs his head and makes him look up at her. "I don't think anything bad about you. I don't care if you're quirkless. You're still a living human being."
Izuku sniffled.
"You… don't think I'm a freak?"
"No. And already I'm hating the bullies who had pushed you this far," she said, anger lacing her voice.
"… T-thank you…"
She smiles warmly.
"My name's Ochako Uraraka. What's your name?"
Izuku felt his heart stir with a warm emotion.
"My name's Izuku Midoriya…"
"Well. From now on, Izuku-kun, I'll be your best friend," said Ochako, smiling more.
Izuku teared up again.
"R-really?"
"Yes. I'll be happy to be your best friend, Izuku."
They heard a sniffle and turn to their Izuku who was teary-eyed.
"Deku-kun? Are you okay?"
Mei even looked concerned for the green-haired teen.
"I'm f-fine… this… I'm certain this could have been me… only not alive."
A wave of dread washed over everybody.
Ochako wrapped her arms around Izuku and hugged him tightly. Izuku just leaned into her embrace.
Izuku and Ochako kept holding onto each other until Izuku stood up. Both teens walked together, Ochako telling Izuku she was going to keep him company until he was home, which he didn't mind. But as they walked down the street, they heard explosions. Curiosity got Izuku's attention and he wandered over to the scene.
"It looks dangerous, Izuku. We should go around," said Ochako.
"I know… I'm just… curious…"
Ochako nodded, staying close to Izuku. There was explosions, smoke and flame. A crowd gathered, kept away by Backdraft's water barriers. The two teens see Kamui Woods saving other injured civilians. They see Mount Lady at her full giantism height, unable to get through.
"We got to wait for someone with the right quirk to show up," the teens hear Death Arms shout to the other heroes.
"But if we do," Backdraft begins to say.
Izuku was freaking out.
In the center of the action, surrounded by destruction was the sludge villain, and Izuku was horrified at who he saw in the slime.
"Is that Bakubro?" Eijiro shouted, horrified.
"It IS Bakugo!" cried Mina.
"IZUKU! WAIT!"
Izuku suddenly sprinted past the barrier.
"What the hell? That's crazy!" Eijiro shouted.
Others pointedly agree. Izuku squeezed Ochako's hand again, which got her to look at him briefly in concern.
"Kid! Stop!" Death Arms yelled.
"Let go of him now!" Izuku yelled, grabbing his book bag and throwing it. All his school things flew out, and a pencil had lodge itself into the slime man's eyeball, causing said villain to roar in pain.
Izuku stared clawing at the slime as Katsuki coughed, face free to draw in much needed air. He was trying hard to help free the ash blond.
"Deku! What the hell?" Katsuki shouted.
"Sorry, Kacchan! But your eyes… I just couldn't stand by and do nothing!"
"Fucking brat!" the sludge villain shouted, raising a fluid arm and is ready to slam it at Izuku.
"IZUKU!" Ochako cried out in fear.
A shadow emerged, blocking the heavy strike.
"I'm so pathetic," a familiar booming voice speaks.
Izuku opened his eyes, and is in awe. All Might.
"It's All Might!" Denki shouted, grinning.
"What kind of hero would I be if I don't preach what I mean? A hero is someone who always does what is right, even if it's dangerous. To step up and do the right thing!"
"Shit! All Might!" the villain shouted, and tried to make a run for it.
"You won't escape this time! Detroit Smash!"
And the resulting punch punched the villain clean off Katsuki Bakugo who was also at the same time rescued. He and Izuku were held in the man's arms as the gust of wind displaced after the punch was fierce like a typhoon.
Drip.
Drip.
Drip, drip, drip.
The clouds that quickly formed overhead soon opened up with rain.
"Wow… All Might actually changed the weather," a bystander commented.
"All Might saved the day again!"
The cheers erupted.
Izuku saw Ochako run up to him after she snuck past the barriers. Everybody was distracted over All Might having showed up to once again be heroic. He grabs her by the wrist and pulls her away, both of them quickly disappearing down a nearby alleyway.
"Hey, where did that one kid go?" questioned Backdraft.
All Might looked around. The boy he met earlier was now gone.
"Did we just… flee the scene?" asked Ochako.
"Looks like it," says Mina, glancing at her and Izuku.
The scene changed to Izuku standing in front of his apartment. Ochako was still with him.
"You ready?"
"I… I think so… I'm just…"
"Izuku… we talked about this on our way here. You need to open up to your mom. Let her know what you've been dealing with. A mom is supposed to always be there for her child, love unconditionally."
"But what if she-"
"She won't think any less of you. You've been hurting in silence. Let her know… open up. You almost ended your own life today, and I like to believe that there's a reason for you to still be here on Earth."
Izuku sighed heavily.
"R-Right…"
"Wow… the other me…"
"Yeah…"
Izuku and Ochako were still holding hands.
Izuku takes out his key, unlocks the door and enters.
"Mom… I'm home… and I have a guest."
He invited Ochako inside before closing the door. He takes off his shoes at the front step, and Ochako followed suit, following the boy quietly further into his home.
"Izuku! Where were you?"
Out steps a kind portly-looking woman with green hair and eyes. She looked like a cute cinnamon roll.
"Oh. Hello. Are you a friend of Izuku?" she asked, puzzled.
Ochako smiled warmly.
"Nice to meet you, ma'am. I'm Ochako Uraraka. I met Izuku today…"
"Oh. That's nice. You've made a new friend, Izuku, and she's cute, too."
"M-mom," Izuku stammered, blushing.
Ochako also blushed, before nudging Izuku in the side and gave him a look.
"Mom… uh… can we talk in the living room… I… I have to tell you something."
Inko was a bit worried at the face her son made, but she went into the living room, followed by her son and his friend. The two teens sat together on one sofa, and Inko sat across from them.
"Son, is everything okay?" asks Inko.
"Mom… I'm so sorry," he apologized.
"What for, sweetie?"
Izuku took a deep breath.
"I… I tried to commit suicide today."
Silence.
Horror quickly dawns on Inko's face. "Wha?"
Izuku was already losing his emotions.
"I'm so sorry, mommy… I'm so sorry…"
The tears started falling.
Inko got up, quickly rushing to Izuku and hugs him for dear life.
"Why?"
Izuku cried out now.
"I'm so sorry!"
Inko started crying too.
"Izuku! Why?"
Izuku was trying hard not to cry, but watching this crazy invention of Mei's showing off a different world apparently… one where he almost took Katsuki's advice but was saved by Ochako… it was getting to him.
"Mom… I've been miserable ever since I was diagnosed quirkiness eleven years ago. I have no friends. I've been bullied for being quirkless. And everybody calls me weak, useless, freak. I… I just finally lost it, mom. Today, I met a hero that I really admired, but even he told me that I couldn't be a hero without a quirk. So I decided to take some advice I heard at school… that… that Bakugo told me. Take a swan dive off a roof praying I'm reborn with a quirk."
Inko gasped.
The room was silent. Everyone looked to Izuku, then back at the TV.
"But… I thought he was… your best friend?"
"He stopped being my friend when I was five… and started bullying me… for being worthless."
"Izuku… what did I tell you?" asks Ochako, moving closer to him. "You are NOT worthless."
Izuku kept sobbing. Inko just rocked her son gently, rubbing at his back in gentle soothing circles. She glanced to Ochako.
"I was in town," Ochako began explaining, "I just happened to look up and I saw someone standing on the ledge of a building. I started running. All my mind told me was that he was in trouble. And when he started falling forward, I ran harder. I almost didn't make it, but I got there and I slapped him and used my quirk to stop his free fall. I saved his life…"
Inko was emotional.
"Oh… thank you, Ochako, dear…" She choked on another sob. "Oh, my baby boy! My precious Izuku!"
"I'm sorry, mommy."
"You're here. You're home. You're alive. That's all that matters, baby."
It was an emotional scene for everybody watching this on the TV.
"Did… did you ever…"
"Yes," Izuku answers sadly. "Two years ago… I thought about ending my life."
They were shocked. Even Mei couldn't help but stare at Izuku like he had said something taboo.
Ochako stared hard at Izuku. "Was it Bakugo? Because I still remember how mean he was to you when we all started our high school life at UA…"
Izuku grimaced a bit.
"Not…" He sighed. "Two years ago he was very different. Today… the old him would have never become best friends with Kirishima, or Sero, or Ashido. He's less angry today. But back then… yeah, he was… mean."
Ochako frowned.
"Sure, he's still moody, but now he doesn't really swear as much… honestly, I wished Kirishima, Ashido, and Sero existed in his life two or even three years ago. They're really a good influence on Kacchan."
Eijiro couldn't help but smile hearing Izuku's good praise for him. As did Hanta and Mina.
"But… I'm glad that I didn't go through with those thoughts. Because had I offed myself… I would have never met any of you."
The warmth had returned in the room again. Everybody began to have similar thoughts: they were lucky to have met Izuku Midoriya.
"Izuku, sweetie…"
"Mom… I want to transfer from Aldera Junior High. I want to go to a different school, away from all the bullies." He looked his mom in the eyes. "Please…"
Ochako decided to speak up.
"Why don't you come to my school, Izuku?"
Both mother and son turn to Ochako.
"Ochako, honey, uh, if you don't mind me asking, where ARE you from, anyway?"
"Oh, I live in Mie. I was visiting the city because where I live they don't have a particular store that I wanted to visit. Though, I should call my parents. They're probably worried about me being gone this long."
"Go ahead and call them. I think you should tell them your heroic deed saving my son from making a big mistake."
Izuku looked guilty, still regretting he ever thought to attempt suicide.
"So, it's safe to assume that in this world, Midoriya's suicide attempt had brought him his guardian angel," said Tsuyu, looking to her two best friends with a soft smile.
The group continued watching as the Ochako on the TV had a lengthy discussion on the phone with her parents. Then Izuku's mother on the TV screen spoke with Mr. and Mrs. Uraraka, and some of them were chuckling when it was officially suggested that her son would do the rest of his schooling at Mie with Ochako. Of course, they also got to see her parents whom had rushed over from Mie to the Midoriya home to meet in person. Much like their TV counterparts, Izuku and Ochako in the real world are blushing messes.
But then the TV shifted to a new scene, which Ochako remembered her old middle school classroom, her former middle school classmates, and her former middle school teacher.
Izuku stood in front of a new classroom. The written date on the chalkboard behind him showed that three days had passed.
"Class, we have a new student transferring from Shizuoka."
Izuku was nervous.
"H-Hello. My name's Izuku Midoriya. Uh… I'm going to be honest with everyone. I came here to a new school in a different prefecture because at my old school, I was constantly bullied because I was quirkless."
The students stared. The teacher looked at the boy with concern.
"And… if it wasn't for Ochako Uraraka saving my life three days ago, I'd be in the obituaries as a suicide."
Now that got the students murmuring softly. Some looked at Izuku with worry, which the teen noticed. No one was saying anything mean or rude about him.
"Uraraka? You saved his life?" asked a girl behind her.
"Yes. I saw him on the ledge and I just started running. And I saved him."
Izuku smiled towards Ochako.
"Ochako is my hero."
Ochako smiled back at him.
"Midoriya…?"
"I'm seeing a therapist for my issues, sensei," he informed his new teacher.
The woman nodded. "That's all I want to know. But if you need to talk about anything that bothers you, please, come to me, okay?"
"Yes, sensei."
She smiled. "Okay. You may take your seat, Midoriya."
And Izuku walks to the only other empty desk in the classroom; next to Ochako. Both teens smiled happily being neighbors in the classroom. Izuku was starting to get more comfortable. No one whispered negative about him. They all generally had looks of concern when he straight admitted he was previously suicidal due to constant bullying.
"Hey Midoriya-san?"
Izuku looks to the person who addressed him.
"Yes?"
"No one here tolerates the bullying of other students. Same with the teachers at this school. I may not know what you have gone through at your old school, but nothing like that will ever happen here."
Several of the other students added their own agreements to what the guy told Izuku.
"I just… I don't want to be treated any differently because I wanted to be honest. Please." Here, Izuku smiles a bit. "I just wish to have a good school year and prepare for the UA Entrance Exams with Ochako."
The other classmates all nodded their heads or gave their confirmation to Izuku's request.
Hm… maybe things will be much different here, Izuku thought to himself, as the teacher finally gets class underway.
"Hey, Midoriya?"
"Oh, yes, Hatsume?"
Mei gave him a look.
"Have you been bullied since going to UA?" she asked in a serious manner.
"Aside villain taunts… no… not anymore," he answered.
Mei nodded. "Okay. That's good. I don't know why anyone would bully you, you're very sweet."
Izuku blushed as a smile was crossing his face.
The scene rolled on, showing off a normal middle school day (which brought up some middle school memories for the viewers – but Izuku stayed quiet) until the scene eventually changed to a cafeteria.
Lunch time.
"So… you were quirkless?"
"Yeah. It… it was not fun… friends I had before the diagnosis suddenly stopped being with me. And my childhood friend… he turned into a bully."
Some of his classmates sitting with him and Ochako were not happy.
"Bullying is wrong, you know. Doesn't matter if one has a quirk or don't, we're all still very much human," said a girl with cat ears and tail.
"Yeah. Heck, I don't have a quirk myself, and it doesn't bother me," said a boy with dark hair and blue eyes. "And yet I also plan to go to UA. I want to go into their Support Course and build helpful items that can save lives."
"Wow… that's a cool dream," says Izuku, awe filtering through.
"And my quirk basically gave me cat ears and a cat tail," said the girl. "I'm literally Japan's oldest animated creations."
"Cat girl," everyone said.
"Nyaa~" She just giggled. "Imagine how many wish they could be a cat girl or a cat boy in the pre-quirk era and the closest to such back then was in manga, anime, and video games."
There were some goodhearted laughter shared.
"And considering my hair color, I can do cosplay of my favorite Vocaloid, Miku!"
"Oh! She's my favorite," said the quirkless boy, grinning happily. "I especially love wintermute's album STRAY LIGHT. Mint Tea is my number one favorite."
Izuku gasped. "Mine too!"
"Wait, you like Vocaloid?"
"When I'm not busy with hero researching… I tend to enjoy music. Saw a video called Romeo and Cinderella and it got me hooked."
Ochako smiled seeing Izuku easily able to have a strong conversation with complete strangers whom are now his classmates.
"Hey, Midoriya?"
"Oh, uh, yes, Mishka?" he asks of the cat girl.
The girl, Mishka, stared at him.
"You can answer if you want, I won't force it from you; when you were younger, have you always wanted to be a hero, even without a quirk?"
"Uh…"
"I ask because you said you liked researching heroes."
He frowned a bit.
"I've wanted nothing more than to be a hero who saves people with a smile on my face. All Might was the one who inspired me when I was very little… the video that introduced Japan to him… the day of the incident, him saving hundreds of people, and never once did he stop smiling. That's what I wanted to do. I want to be like him. When someone is in trouble, I would be there to help that person no matter what the situation could be. And I would smile, to let them know that I will not let any further harm befall."
Everyone stared at Izuku, amazed by his words.
"I… I truly believe that those who smile the biggest are often the strongest hero. That's who I want to be. The hero who smiles. The hero who saves others from danger. I'll even smile in the face of danger, even if I'm on my last leg of life."
Ochako sniffled. "Izuku… that was so touching…"
"But being quirkless… I still want to be a hero. I want to prove that it's not the quirk that makes the hero, it's the heart and soul."
The viewers were floored by TV Izuku's words of wisdom. Izuku himself was in absolute awe of his TV counterpart.
"And even if I don't have a quirk… I'll work hard." He stood up from his seat at the cafeteria table. "And I will one day be able to say to the world that I will protect you."
When he opened his arms and spread them out, he smiled.
That's when all the tables around him shifted a couple centimeters, and silence reigned in the cafeteria. Izuku's smile vanished instantly, as he took a moment to rationalize what had happened. He looked around. All the tables had shifted. Lunch was interrupted, and everybody was quiet and now staring at him. He looked at his hands, puzzled. An intense look was on display. He then looked up, and caught Ochako's worried gaze.
He then looked at the salt and pepper shakers on the table. He brought his hand up…
… And they flew up towards his hand. Shocked, he lowered his hand and they fell to the ground with a clatter.
"Izuku?"
Izuku was coming to terms with the phenomenon that happened.
"Did I just… do that?"
Ochako got up and walked up to him quickly, gripping his arm in worry.
"Izu?"
Izuku lifted his other hand at another table where a group of other students sat. The students jumped when their table scraped along the floor, moving back to its original position.
"Oh… my… 'Chako… I…"
Izuku looked to Ochako.
"I… I think… I got a quirk now…"
His eyes rolled into the back of his head and he collapsed in a dead faint.
"IZUKU!"
His classmates all panicked and gathered around, two teachers that were there supervising the lunch period rushed over while a third got on his phone to contact the school's principal to report the bizarre incident .
The TV slowly fizzled to snow as TV Ochako's worried voice was drowned by the static.
