Things were so lonely here in my job at Anteiku, spending the day serving some ghouls and humans some coffee and cake..disgusting how can they eat that? i've forgotten the sweet taste of it now the only thing i can eat is human meat...
old man Yoshimura gave me a home here I never thought i would have after i almost died years ago.Now thanks to that old man i have a family here, though i hate the job it relaxes me now and then, i was a mess back then when i first began to work here and was about to attack the humans here until Touka held me down.
I thought everything was over till i had this family and met him, Ken Kaneki. He would always sit there with his friend Hide or by himself reading a book quietly. I was fascinated by him unlike him he wasn't an ordinary human to me. Touka or Enji would try to push me towards him when he first entered the café and since then we've talked to each other.
"Hey will you stop staring at him and serve some customers their coffee?" Touka asked and handed a tray with two coffees with two sandwiches.
"Alright,whatever." i replied lazily and walked up to a small table by the corner.
"Somebody has been daydreaming about that boy again." I heard Kaya whisper to Renji who was usually silent.
I gave them all a death glare and walked behind the counter and grabbed a slice of came I was saving for Kaneki. I smiled at the young dark haired boy as i made my way closer to him and saw his friend whisper to him,which made Kaneki look his way over to me and blushed.
"It's nice to see you again,Kaneki." i smile and he nods his head his face getting redder.
"H-Hey (Y/N), is your shift almost off?"
I sigh loudly and shake my head, "Unfortunately no, why?"
He scratched the back of his neck and looked back at Hide who was smirking, "I-I was thinking if you'd like to accompany me to the book store-"
Kaneki was immediately smacked by his friend on the head when he mentioned book store, "Is that anyway to invite a girl over on a date?!"
"It's n-not like that!" Kaneki replies rubbing his head and i smile shyly and placed the plate with cake in front of him. "It's on the house, enjoy it Kaneki." i blush and walk away.
I sit down on a stool and hear everyone giggling next to me, "I'm right here you know?! don't laugh at me." i tell everyone even if it's no use. I cross my arms and huff out annoyed at them. "Come on don't be like that to us (Y/N)." Enji says patting the top of my head.
"It's our duty to annoy our youngest family member." Touka says jokingly.
"I'm not that young i'm a few months younger than you that's all."
"Oh, (Y/N), you'll never change." Kaya says smiling and Renji nods his head.
"Why won't you admit it you like that human boy?" Enji asks me.
"Okay okay I like him..but we ghouls can't be with humans.." right when I said that the doorbell rang and I saw that girl again,Rize. I keep my stare on her as she walks past Kaneki who blushed a deep shade of red when he and his friend Hide saw her.
I see..Kaneki likes Rize then..
Rize sat down just a few tables away from Kaneki and pulled out a book from her bag and began to read it. I glared at her and i assumed she felt eyes on her since she stared at me back, my glare never fading from her sight, she smirked to herself and looked back at the book in her hands.
It felt like forever when Kaneki approached her and they started to chat, both of them stood up from their spots and it looks like they are going go hang out, together,alone,just the two of them. Before he could leave I walked over to him and reached out and grabbed his wrist.
"(Y/N)?!"
I stared down at my feet and fought back the tears, "Be careful alright? thing's might get dangerous tonight." i warn him. Kaneki just nodded and walked away when I let him go, multiple of scenarios began to flood my mind so I ran upstairs to Yoshimura who was with Hinami and her mother.
"Sorry to bother you sir,but can I please leave early?" i ask quickly and he stares at me for a bit without saying anything.
"Alright.."
I bow my head and ran out quickly changing from my uniform and running outside Anteiku. The streets in Tokyo were busy with people and every shop and building illuminated by the bright city lights. I ran faster trying to find Kaneki or know where he was by his scent. I won't let Rize hurt you like she did with my family.
"Help!!"
Kaneki! He's shouting for help not that far from me, i quickened my pace and arrived at an empty place. Ready for battle just in case my kagune stood out and my eyes turned to it's usual red. "Kaneki!" i shout and he looks at me fear written all over his face when he also saw me. I stared at him with worry and scared for the first time in years that someone might hurt someone I love.
"I won't let anyone hurt you Kaneki, please don't freaks out."
Rize laughs behind from Kaneki and she tightened her hand around Kaneki's neck. "I never thought you would arrive (Y/N)..lucky for me you're late."
"Let him go!" i run towards here my kagune ready to slice her up. It wasn't long till she made me fall to my knees since she is stronger than me, i had a couple of cuts and was bleeding from my forehead.
"Finally i'll kill you like I did with your family.." she says grinning and makes her way closer to me, and i looked over to Kaneki's form that was on the ground bleeding. Slowly Rize got closer and closer, i looked back and slices with my kagune a slice of the building behind me, i jumped put of the way when I heard screaming and when I looked back i saw that it fell on top of her.
"Kaneki!"
I raced towards him and fell on my knees when I saw his eyes closed his face covered in blood. I won't let him die! I picked him up with the last bit of strength I had left and ran to where I heard the sirens nearby along with the police lights appearing closer as I got there, "Help! my friend is dying!" a few men came over and gently grabbed Kaneki and got him inside the ambulance.
I helped them and joined them inside as they drove us faster to the hospital, i held onto Kaneki's hand the entire time..please don't die Kaneki.
