From The Ground Up: Shinsou Hitoshi

Summary:

When a small, terrified boy with his face bloody and body too small for his age runs from his foster home, he is found by a pro-hero. A family begins and a story of acceptance writes its first chapter.

Notes:

Hi! This is my first proper fanfiction. It's an idea I came up with on the spot and decided to write. I have three stories planned so far, in vague terms, and no idea where this may go. Tags will be updated as needed!
This is ultimately a story about found family, love and acceptance from yourself and others.
Hope you like it!

The first chapter is a kind of prologue-y bit.

Chapter 1: Run, Boy, Run

Chapter Text

Shinsou’s small feet slapped on the concrete as he sprinted down the dim street, the sound echoing ominously alongside his faint whimpers. His eyes blurred with tears and tinted with the blood running down his forehead as he turned corner after corner, losing himself in the sleeping city. His tiny body threw itself into the dark of an alley, crashing his side against a dumpster and sinking to his knees, his hands reaching up to the bloodied muzzle covering half his face.

Thin fingers clawed at the edges of the muzzle, scratching and further bloodying his skin with ragged nails, whimpering in his panic and his breathing growing more strained. He desperately tugged and pulled, pain tearing through his jaw and cheeks as he screamed into the mask, the sound dull and distorted through the metal and heavy plastic.

The sound of feet landing gently rang out through the alley and footsteps slowly approached. Shinsou flinched violently, head smacking heavily against the metal dumpster and cried out.

“Shit!” a man’s voice swore urgently.

Vision swimming, Shinsou glimpsed a black-clad figure, a spark of yellow and arms reaching for him. The world went black.
