Summary:

When the population starts to go crazy and hungry for human flesh, Bakugou will have to work hard not to die alongside his idiot who may or may not have a weakness for helping anyone who stands in front of them.

Katsuki straightened up once to look at the other side, he wished he hadn't.  In front of him could only see disaster; there was a corpse, Bakugou knew what it was, he had seen it in multiple practices and videos, but nothing as sadistic as that. The body lay on the ground completely undone, unconsciously his brain began to name the parts and then he could only think blood blood blood.

Chapter Text

Day Zero

Life was a bitch. Bakugou always thought so.

Sometimes it was a boring bitch, like when he had two hours-class with Ishiyama, that guy could make human anatomy twenty times more tedious.

And there were other times that life was just a bitch; from one moment to the next it could punch you in the face a second after tenderly kissing you on the forehead. Or like that moment, he had finally had enough time to be able to sunbathe outside the faculty, he would have preferred to be alone, however had to endure the presence of those idiots who were his classmates.

"I assure you that the uniform attracts girls, three nurses have given me their number in practice."

"Sure, Kashima and I'm fucking the chief of surgery. I bet my next day in the operating room that two of those numbers were given to you wrong " To emphasize his point, Yamamoto made the quotation marks with his fingers.

"Only one of them was wrong and she promised to call later." He defended himself. "And the other two assured me that they would give me their new number when they recovered their lines, apparently someone stole their cell phones leaving the hospital."

"Sounds too convenient."

"Accept it Kashima, you are a failure with women." Scoffed a third, Sukiya.

Katsuki just rolled his eyes and tried again to block out their stupid voices. It was not a secret the achievements of a couple of his classmates, what not many knew was the harassment and the illicit use of connections to obtain certain positions.  And they were only in their third year of medical school.

"Why don't you ask Bakugou to share one of his with you? I heard that the pretty girl from cardiology gave him her number."

"The one with the big ass and tattoo on her back?"

"And how the hell do you know she has a tattoo?" Bakugou said, sitting up.

"Jealous? Ouch." He rubbed his arm where Bakugou had hit him. "Don't worry, on watch tonight I show you the entrance to paradise called the girls' locker room."

"As if he need it."

"Yeah, you're right," said another moron as he lit a cigarette, "I heard that you prefer eggs than the chick."

Katsuki was about to hit him with full force when everything started. All their cell phones and those of the people close to them began to ring, he took his device and confused read the alert message.

⚠️ Emergency  Alert⚠️ Violent attack is recorded in central Tokyo at 15:00. Stay in safe areas.

"What? Do you think it was the same idiot from last week?"

"They caught him." Bakugou watched as a second message arrived with information from another altercation on the other side of town. "It's probably nothing, they always exaggerate everything."

"Yeah, like that super dangerous bomb that was a forgotten suitcase."

"Son of bitch, I was late that day and the doctor in charge sent me to emergencies for a week."

"Huh, the guy in charge of my area made me buy food for everyone."

And then as if nothing had happened, his three companions returned to their previous talk, and as before Bakugou was about to lie back on the grass ready to get some sleep in preparation for his watch at the hospital that night.

He was closing his eyes when he heard the screams.

He straightened up again and watched curiously as the people around him approached interested in whatever was happening and only a few ran away.

"Did Nirengeki anger Togaru again? Is what? The third time this week?"

"That poor guy should move his things to the infirmary, he spends more time there than in his dorm."

Among the space left by the people, the boys managed to observe the scene but soon realized that something was wrong there. At that point in the fight Nirengeki was usually on the ground but today it seemed that Togaru was having trouble subduing him.

"It seems that Nirengeki grew some balls," Bakugou said, impressed with the change of roles.

He continued to watch, intrigued. Now the crowd was bigger and he could see several students recording everything. It was as if Nirengeki was going psycho; with his mouth open he tried to approach Togaru who with a face of terror tried to defend himself.

"I'm leaving, I can't handle this shit." He said, standing up when he saw Togaru receive a bite on the forearm and everyone screamed without stopping recording.  Why the hell was no one doing something?  Although he couldn't blame them either, the only time he did he ended up with a black eye and a warning call from the university for inappropriate behavior.  "Fuck it, I'm off."

"Oh come on, Bakugou. It's the first sunny day after a week."

"You're right, I'm staying, the girls from the volleyball team are coming back soon."

Bakugou took his things and with a curse as the only goodbye left. Maybe if he got to the hospital early he could rest without assholes around. He started planning what to have for lunch when a voice from behind made him spun around.

"Nirengeki! What are you doing? He's hurt!  Call 119!"

Deku. Of course that bastard had to get involved, he always did. Katsuki turned at the right moment to see how a Nirengeki with blood on his face was heading towards Deku with a lost but determined look. He didn't think about it and ran there.

His fist impacted cleanly on the chubby boy's cheek, sending him to the floor. He heard murmurs from the extras who remained around. Takegi was still on the floor complaining of pain and injuries on his arm and neck.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing, Deku? Can't you see that he's nuts?"

He pushed his friend with little force while continued to scold him, behind them he heard some growls, apparently his blow was not enough to knock out the guy. The crowd turned their eyes and cameras back to Nirengeki, who had now grabbed a screaming girl by the ankle.

He grabbed Deku by the collar of his shirt and dragged him away from everyone.

"But Kacchan! They need help!"

"Then call the police and walk away, you stupid nerd."

He released his grip only when they were a good few feet away, the green-haired guy tried to turn back claiming that his next class was in that direction.

"Are you seeing the same thing as me? There'll be no more fucking classes after this, surely the police are already on their way and it won't take long to evacuate everyone."

And then the chaos began. People started screaming and running just as cell phones received emergency messages again.

"Shit." The blond took Deku by the arm.  "Walk, idiot, we're leaving."

"But, Kacchan…!"

Together they went to the main exit which was not far away, they were entering the long corridor with high arches when too many people began to crowd. Deku continued to advance, leaving little or no space with the people in front of him, Bakugou again pulled him.

"We have to wait."

"But you said that…"

Again more screaming and people running.  Deku for the first time began to feel panic in his bones, he saw how people in their attempt to flee ended up on the ground, being later stepped on by others, he would have tried to approach to help but they were both being pushed into a corner.

"We can't stay here." Now it was he who took Kacchan by the arm. "They're going to crush us."

Pushing a couple of people and stepping on others they both made their way to a small garden, where they could see people on the ground covered in blood, and others attacking students and teachers. Bakugou felt trapped; on one hand, he wanted to go and help the wounded, but the shock of everything prevented him from doing more than observing all the chaos around him.

He bumped into a girl, crying out for help as she held her bloody side with one hand.

"You have to help me!" She said as dropped to the ground taking Bakugou with her free hand and dragged him with her.  "My mid-class teacher went crazy, my friend…"

They never knew the end of that sentence, the girl began to scream as if she burned from inside and dug her nails into the skin of Bakugou's forearm. He tried to release himself but her grip was very strong. And then she let him free. She went still, dead.

Katsuki leaned closer to check her pulse when she got back up, snarling and with bloodshot eyes. He was petrified. And then a yellow backpack appeared in front of him.

"Kacchan, run!"

Deku held his backpack against the girl's face. The blond took the opportunity to get up and pull his friend. The girl wasn't very fast, giving them precious seconds to find some stairs and climb.

A safe place. A safe place. Bakugou thought as they ran down the hall together.  A door was thrown open, from it getting wounded and those things behind, chasing them. They took the next stairs up, coming face to face with a woman in a white coat with her mouth covered in blood.

"Deku!" Bakugou shouted, calling his friend and alerting the woman who was now going towards them, she arrived first with Deku, her open mouth directed towards his neck, the blond pulled him to the side, unbalancing him, the woman stumbled and Katsuki approached and sent her down the stairs with a strong kick.

"I always wanted to do that." Deku looked at him in terror. "She was my epidemiology professor… That's it! Let's go down!"

"But we came from there! What are you thinking, Kacchan?"

But Bakugou had already started to go down, Midoriya without any other option followed him, trying not to step on anyone and praying that they didn't get up like the girl did.

They ran for a while, having to deviate more than once because of people and things , but finally they reached their destination. Bakugou ran into the lab straight to the teacher's table.

"Close the fucking door!" He yelled as he searched everywhere. Izuku closed it at the precise moment that the thing that was chasing them slammed against the door.

"Kacchan! What if they manage to enter?"

"They will not." He said as he headed for the door with the keys in his hands. "It can't be opened from the outside, but just in case…" He inserted the key into the lock, turning it and putting more security between them and the other side.

They both dropped heavily to the ground, covered in sweat and allowed themselves a moment to rest. Bakugou began to recount the situation as he put his backpack aside, he was locked in a laboratory with Deku after escaping from people who had gone crazy out of nowhere and attacked everyone. They didn't know anything beyond that the government asked them to be safe, surely the help would take time to arrive and according to the clock on the wall it was barely one in the afternoon. Fucking fantastic.

The stinging on his left arm brought him back to the present, he saw red lines running from elbow to wrist. The girl's face came back to his mind for a moment and he had to suppress a shudder, what the hell was happening to people? Putting that thought out of his mind, he concentrated on tending his wound, he looked up and wasn't surprised to find a first-aid kit. He got up and opened it to get the antiseptic solution, some gauze and a bandage.

"Kacchan you are bleeding."

"Easy, nerd, it's just a scratch," the blond assured him as he headed to the nearest sink to wash. "Instead of worrying, do something useful and see if anyone knows what the fuck is going on."

The green-haired looked at him for a moment, as if he wanted to make sure his friend was okay before he nodded and rummaged in his pockets for his cell phone. The boy sighed in relief when he pulled it out.

"I was afraid it had stayed in my backpack," he murmured while checking the notifications. "Kachan, look… " Izuku attracted his attention as he handed him his phone where he could see some images of other people before the outbreak of madness. "It says it's everywhere."

"It can't be, no disease spreads that fast."  He said as he watched the screen and finished healing his arm. "It must be something local, they must not take long to control the situation."

Almost as if to demonstrate his error, they began to listen from outside from guttural sounds like grunts and unintelligible words to screams for help and people calling each other. Bakugou looked at Deku; he could see in his face the desire to help, however they had barely managed to find a safe area. He finished adjusting the bandage on his arm and went to the windows, the lower half was darkened but the upper half allowed the light to pass through, giving him a chance to look out. He pulled up one of the hight benches and climbed up despite Izuku's complaints.

"Shut up, don't make noise."

His friend walked over, and took another bench to climb next to him. Katsuki straightened up once to look at the other side, he wished he hadn't.  In front of him could only see disaster; there was what appeared to be an open-chested person, Bakugou knew what it was, he had seen it in multiple practices and videos, but nothing as sadistic as that. The body of that person lay on the ground completely undone, unconsciously his brain began to name the parts; large intestine, stomach, muscle and then he could only think blood blood blood.

And it was not the only one, around the first corpse there were a couple of people fighting to survive, for a second he didn't hear anything, his brain suppressed everything except the images. He could see male and female students, teachers, both healthy and sick out there. He didn't understand anything, and the explanations that he could find came from stupid movies or video games, he refused that his life was that. Real life wasn't like that, people didn't get sick out of nowhere and it resulted in that. Those things just didn't happen.

He heard movement beside him, looked down, and found Deku dragging a bench extremely noisily. Bakugou looked out and saw that those things were now looking where they were.

"Stay down." He said pushing the other. He leaned out again, more cautiously to verify that nothing was coming.

As Bakugou looked out the window, Midoriya decided to keep checking his cell phone. He was surprised to see that he had messages from his online friends Jake, Sahara and William, apparently the news had spread fast around the world. The three were worried and asked if he was okay, everything looks like something out of a movie, Jake assured. He answered all of them assuring that so far everything was fine and asked if something was happening in their respective countries. They said that at least their governments hadn't said anything but that would keep him informed, they offered him money but he refused, what was happening doubtfully he could solve it with money. He promised to keep in touch before continuing to check the internet, there was nothing of interest until he noticed that he had several missed calls from his mother and three voicemails, without wasting time he entered to the mailbox.

" Welcome to your voicemail ." The prerecorded voice greeted as soon as the call connected. "You have three new messages.  Message one" the recording of the telephone company gave way to the voice full of concern from his mother. "Izuku, please call me as soon as you hear this, I don't know what is happening but the news said something about violent alterations near your school. Please, I just want to know that you're okay. " There was a silence before listening to how the tape recorder announced the start of the second message. "Izuku, I need to know that you're okay. Outside the building people are getting very violent, take care of yourself and please stay safe."   The recorder announced the last message. "Izuku, I'm fine, but please I need to hear from you. I'm home, please find a place to take refuge, don't come until it's safe I…" in the background there were knocks and screams. "God, everything will be fine Izuku, you have to take care of yourself." Another blow, his mother said something incomprehensible and then she was screaming before the call was cut off.

The boy ended the call with the mailbox and dialed directly to his mother. Each ring made his heart race faster, why wasn't she answering him? Had the creatures caught her? No, of course not, her mother was surely fine, she had to be fine, maybe a neighbor had come to help her and now they were taking care of her. Or she had escaped in time. He had to do what she asked, he would take care and go with her as soon as things settled down, before he realized they would be together again. He was about to tell Katsuki what was happening when the knocks began to sound on the door, the blond jumped off the bench and pulled his friend by his arm to force him to squat next to him.

"Please, help!" A girl's voice went through the door accompanied by several knocks on the door. "They are chasing us and my friend is injured!"

"Kacchan, we have to open." The green-haired tried to free himself to get up but Bakugou tightened his grip and forced him to remain on the ground.

"They'll be dead before we can open the door," he assured, remembering what he had seen through the window. If the chasing things didn't catch up with them, the commotion they were making will attract everyone and everything close.

Midoriya was about to continue arguing but a cry from a man interrupted him, he tried to get up but his friend guessed his intentions and held him back, cornering his body against the wall. They struggled a little more until the girl's scream was heard, a chill ran through both of them as the screams faded and the sounds of ripping flesh replaced them. The green-haired body stopped moving and Katsuki released his hold now that he didn't feel like Izuku would run away.

"We could have saved them," Izuku's words came out in a whisper as tears began to cover his face.

"They were surrounded." Bakugou sounded firm, not only because of his friend, he also had to convince himself that he had done the right thing. But what kind of person was if he had let two people die without even trying? What kind of doctor?  How could he swear to serve humanity after that?

The sound of people running and voices interrupted his thoughts, Izuku looked at him pleadingly, let's help them , his eyes said but he just silently denied. They couldn't take the risk, even if they managed to dodge the sick ones, he couldn't be sure that any of them weren't already infected.

"Anyone there? We need help."

The growls at the door seemed to be fueled by the screams, Bakugou cursed the stupidity of the people outside. The things outside moved away, surely in the direction of the sound, Bakugou thanked that at least something good was happening but a falling bench to his left ended that, the sound alerted everyone outside.

"Did you hear that? I think it's over there" A few seconds later a knock on the window alerted them, the blond tried to move away with his friend. "Hey, we need…!"

The screaming started again. He had never been a religious person, but if there was a God, he asked for it to end soon.

A couple of hours passed since the last loud noises, outside there were no more than yells and guttural sounds. The two of them now remained on the floor, hidden behind one of the tables, neither speaking anymore. Bakugou like Deku had taken out his cell phone to look for signals from his parents but completely failing, the last thing from them was a message from his father asking about the weekend lunch maybe a couple of hours before everything started, so without further ado the blond put the phone aside.

Deku had leaned out the window a while ago, the color of his face was beginning to return, but the images now etched with fire in his mind would never go away. There were the two of them, silently staring at nothing until again some noises brought them back to reality, this time coming from their stomachs. Looking at the time, they realized the number of hours they had been without food or water; in Bakugou's case it was more, due to his busy schedules it was already maybe seven or eight hours. He was the first to stand up, looking around he saw some backpacks still on the tables and on the floor, their owners leaving them behind in a moment of panic.

He walked over to the one closest to him, opened it, and rummaged through it until he found a half bottle of water and an empty cookie packaging.

"Start looking, nerd."

"But isn't it stealing?"

"I don't think they care anymore." From the second backpack, Bakugou took out a small carton of juice.

"Maybe we should go out and get help."

Bakugou look at him for a second, before leaving what he was doing and going to the window furthest from them. He hit the glass a little hard and instantly the grunts and groans of those things began to come closer. They were few, without enough force to break the glass and even without that they had the metal bars installed to prevent theft. Katsuki turned and found Izuku looking fearfully at the window and with a sigh approaching a blue backpack.

Eight bottles, three empty, three full and two with half water. In total, about fifteen cookies, plus two crushed onigiri and two juice cartons. A pack of gum. And what appeared to be a coffee thermos, but inside there was sake.

Bakugou stared at their supplies, frowning on the alcohol, other than that the rest was acceptable, even the squashed sandwich they were sharing.

"I think this had been in that boy's backpack for a few days now." Despite Deku's observation, they both ate in small bites along with two half-empty bottles.

After the sandwich and a couple of cookies for each, they went back through the belongings, finding a little more food and other materials that might be useful to them; a cutter, a pair of scissors, a Swiss army knife courtesy of the professor's briefcase, plus three packs of cigarettes.  As he searched, Bakugou remembered his classmates; perhaps more than half were still on campus while the rest were already in hospitals, he wondered how the idiots would be, many inefficient perhaps to survive but some capable of achieving it.  For now, he couldn't do anything for them, the Internet connection was crap, the phone services down most of the time making communication ineffective.

They sat without doing much else for a while, and then began to put together their exit plan.

"I need to go home, my mom… I don't know if she's…"

"Yeah, me too," Bakugou said, not letting him finish, he had heard Aunt Inko's voice messages himself. "I want to go see that my parents are okay."

Izuku thought of his mother, the sweet smile with which she greeted him every day.  Katsuki on his father and his hugs, his mother and their strange but good relationship.

They went into action, Midoriya took a random backpack and put half the food in, Bakugou decided to take his books and even looked for one that would be useful; the class it had been there was older, so he managed to find one or two useful that he passed to Deku to spread the weight. They took what they considered useful to get to their homes and after thinking about it, they went to the laboratory material, Katsuki took a universal base for each, they were metal, heavy enough to do damage, or so he hoped.

"Why don't we take a microscope with us? It should work too."

"How did I not think about it before?" Katsuki asked sarcastically. While stuffing the contents of the first-aid kit into his backpack. "Go nerd, go get one, two or three if you can."

Deku looked at him confused but he went to take one of the materials, trying to lift it for a few seconds was enough to feel the weight of the object and put it back in place taking instead the base that Bakugou had given him before.

"You could have said it before, you know."

His friend let out a slight mocking laugh before throwing a black jacket at him.

"What is this?"

"A jacket."

"I know what it is. But for what?"

"For you to wear."  He rolled his eyes at Izuku's scolding gaze.  "Don't look at me like that, idiot, it's starting to get cold."

"But it's just the end of September." Izuku started to put it on while Bakugou searched for one for himself. "It's not winter yet."

"Yet."

They checked their things one last time and what they left behind, and after checking that their shoes were properly tied, Bakugou took out the key and began to open as quietly as possible, he stuck his head out, there was no one. Left, right. There were two of those things to the right. He came in again and motioned for Deku to go left, when he got the message, he came back out. Making as little noise as possible they both exited the lab, Izuku having the great idea to close the large metal door, the loud crack being enough to draw the attention of the two monsters.

"Run!"

They started the race to the left, and in the next corner, finding one of those things in front of them, who when noticing them extended its arms in their direction. Katsuki didn't think much about it, he just moved his arms and with a strong blow sent it backwards, feeling how the metal was going through the skin and bone of the skull.  He wanted to vomit.

Deku pulled him and they continued forward, trying not to make a noise beyond their footsteps, they had to hit a couple more before reaching their target; the bicycle parking. Deku started pulling them out, trying to find one that wasn't chained. One came out and threw it to Kacchan, who took it as he continued to watch, there were only two things that were slowly approaching, but they made sounds that were alerting more.

Izuku couldn't find another, things were getting closer and he started to mutter. "Kacchan, I can't find another, the others are far away..."

Bakugou grabbed his arm and pushed him away, threw him the free bike and lifted the lab base, lowering it forcefully onto one of the smaller chains he saw.

CLANK

CLANK

"Kacchan!" There was one of the things who was getting dangerously close to them, with panic Deku reached into his pocket, taking the first thing he touched and throwing it at the creature. His cell phone flew off and hit the man's face with blood on his mouth, managing to distract him momentarily.

CLANK

And the chain fell. Katsuki pulled the bike without letting go of the metal base, now there were more things approaching them. "Go ahead, you idiot!"

They got on and started pedaling and together they barely made it through the faculty door.

The first stop they had decided would be the building of the Midoriya family, on the way they ran into many of those creatures, noticing how one or in pairs they were relatively easy to evade, they only needed speed and good reflexes, instead in large numbers  there was no human capable of defeating so many, they listened and saw how many lost their lives for overestimating their abilities.

Between detours and obstacles, it took them more than two hours to arrive, exhausted and with sore legs, they managed to enter Izuku's street, giving him renewed energy to pedal and quickly get home. The place was a disaster, there were bodies everywhere although it seemed that there were not so many infected outside, Midoriya was hopeful.

They evaded a couple of them before reaching the building, Deku jumped off the bike and ran up the stairs, Bakugou asked him to wait for him but Izuku ignored his friend. On the first floor he was received by his neighbor or what was left of him; the man seemed to have lost an arm and had blood in his mouth, he didn't want to imagine how it had ended up like that. He clung to the metal base in his hands ready, he tried to hit the man but hesitated at the last moment and failed.

The once a man had closed the distance, but before it could touch the boy it was hit on the head and ended up on the ground. Izuku felt that he was being pushed in the direction of the next staircase, when he turned to see his rescuer he found Bakugou who was presumably pressing his lips in an attempt not to yell at him although he could hear him in his mind telling him how stupid he was for going ahead alone.

The second floor looked empty, Deku felt hope growing, Bakugou couldn't help but suspect. They continued walking until they reached the door of the Midoriya apartment, the freckled guy instinctively reached into his pockets but cursed when he felt them empty.

"Now what?"

"My keys were in my backpack," Izuku confessed, turning to his friend.

"You have to be fucking kidding me."

Deku took an instinctive step back when the other raised his voice colliding with the door that gave way under the weight, it was not completely closed. Worry accumulated in Deku's stomach, who just entered the apartment. The hall was a mess, the auxiliary table for the keys was on the floor and there were traces of blood on the floor that went directly to the living room. He heard Bakugou say something to him but he continued, he tried to turn on the light but apparently the power had been cut off. In the dim light things didn't seem to improve, the chairs were overturned and the television was on the floor. Izuku was about to continue when he noticed movement in a corner.

"Mom?" The shadow seemed to react to his voice and he continued to advance. "Mom, are you ...?" Before he could continue he was pulled back and saw how Katsuki hit the figure hard.

"We have to go out, Deku," the blond ordered in a serious voice, raising the metal base again, ready to attack at any moment. "Come out and don't look back."

Bakugou chose his words wrong, instead of getting his friend to come out, he prompted him to keep searching the room. The one with green eyes took a while but after adjusting to the darkness he found a scene straight out of his nightmares. In the same place where it had gotten up the other body it was lying what was left of Inko Midoriya, half of her face was destroyed, the visible skin of her arms and legs were scratched, in addition her belly was completely opened.

Bakugou was holding him back before he noticed that he had moved, one hand was around his waist and kept him away, the other was covering his mouth shutting off a scream. He tried to get loose but his friend was stronger, he was dragged to the exit, he thought he saw something coming out of the kitchen but the only thing he could think about was his mother. His mother, who widowed  at a very young age and took care of him alone, who always supported him when he had a new project in mind, who only smiled and looked for a way to pay the university fees after a semester he changed literature for robotic engineering, the woman who tearfully asked him not to move into the college dorms. How had it ended like this? Why didn't anyone come to help her? She had always been good with the neighbors, sometimes she had even offered to babysit their children while they worked. Why had they let her die? Why? Why? Why?

"… Izuku!" The boy looked up and found himself facing Bakugou's face. If he didn't know him well he would have mistaken his frown for anger, but all he saw was concern. "Damn, I know I'm sounding like a complete bastard right now but I need you to pull it together. Now! We got their attention, we have to get out of here!"

Deku took a few precious seconds to come back to reality and realize the situation, Bakugou had closed the door of the apartment but could hear more than one infected knocking against it, also on the other side of the hall there were four of them walking directly to where they were.

"Kachan, my mom…" His voice cracked before he could continue.

"I know, damn it, I know," the blond growled, "but she wouldn't want you to end up the same. So now you're going to swallow all those tears and run with me until we get to a damn safe place. Then and only then can you cry all you want, do you understand?"

Without waiting for an answer he forcefully pulled his friend, Izuku continued crying, now silently as he was dragged away. They reached the stairs and started down, the green-haired stumbling every two steps making noise and forcing Bakugou to pull him back.

"Get up, you idiot Izuku!"

"To the left!"

The only way to get him to move was for Katsuki to yell orders at him and that itself increased the noise, causing more and more of those things to come closer to them.  They managed to get to the street, getting up the cars to be able to advance and in Katsuki’s case hitting from time to time whatever was approaching them. They came to an avenue and were surrounded, behind them was a fence that separated them from a playground. A park that Bakugou knew.

"Come up, you idiot, come up!"

"What?"

He lifted Deku up and when he understood and started to climb Bakugou pushed him from behind, the blond rising immediately after hitting one of the taller guys who had taken Izuku by the ankle with the metal base that was still in his hands. He heard the other fall on the other side with a thud, Katsuki falling to his feet next to him a few seconds later. He took Izuku from the backpack again to get him up.

"Keep running, damn it!"

They began to advance, apparently those things didn't climb, but with the force of being so many against the fence he could see how it began to give in to the weight.  Katsuki looked around in fear, finding a children's house which was accessed by climbing a metal structure and then pushing a hatch. With the objective ready, he directed Deku there, having to push him again to get him up there.

Just Katsuki had started to ascend when an infected appeared in his field of vision, he quickly moved his arm with the metal base and achieved his objetive. however it was embedded in the upper part of the head. He only managed to release a kick and send it to the ground, behind him he could see how more things got closer. He wasted no more time and climbed.

At the top he closed the hatch, isolating them for the second time in the day from a reality that he never imagined living.
