“Let’s add one more trick to our DAP!” Reki felt his heart flutter as those words left Langa’s mouth, could it be what he’s been waiting for this entire time? The familiar feeling of Langa’s hands on his own made both of their eyes light up, and smile as the infinity symbol was created.
“Langa, there’s one more thing I need to add,” Reki nervously scratched the back of his head, “Well, um, if you think it would be alright.”
The air shifted, as a different feeling appeared and Langa’s eyes softened, “I think I know exactly what you mean, Reki,” Langa shifted forward onto his knees and leaned forwards, interlocking their hands.
Blue eyes met Reki’s and a warm feeling was sent through his whole body and into his fingers as he looked down in surprise. Langa’s lips were pressed into their intertwined knuckles, wait they were?
“Langa!” Reki jumped back in surprise as shocks sent through his whole body making his hair stand up and headband to fall off.
“Wait…” Langa said, voice laced with worry and eyebrows furrowed, “Did I read that wrong?”
“No! Wait, I just,” Reki played with his fingers as he tried to make sense of what just happened.
Reki noticed the headband laying forgotten on the ground next to him and moved to pick it up, just as Langa started to stand, “OUCH!” They both cried out and fell backwards.
“Here,” Langa took the headband from Reki’s fingers and moved his hand up to comb through the red hair that always stole his attention, it looked empty without the headband wrapped around. He smoothed the bangs in front down, and placed the headband where it normally was. Wait, no that wasn’t right. He moved it down a bit, and then to the left.
“Langa, just let me do it,” Reki put his hands on top of the pale ones on his head and slid the band around until it was facing the right way, but didn’t take his hands away. Instead, he moved them down to his cheeks and looked straight into the blue eyes staring in wonder.
“Reki, can I kiss you?”
“Of course bro,” Reki laughed as they both leaned forward, and Reki thought to himself, wait, did I just call him bro? I don’t think you do that before you kiss someone. His thoughts were interrupted when he felt a warm pressure on his lips, and he froze for a second.
Langa quickly pulled away, faced flushed, “Wait, did I do that right?”
“Hmm,” Reki replied, trying and failing to hide his growing smile, “It was kind of quick, we should try again.”
This time, the kiss was much longer and clumsier, as they both tried to get their bearings with how to move their lips against one another’s. Reki moved his hands away from his own face and placed them on Langa’s thighs as he leaned more into the other.
Soon, they were both sprawled on the ground of the skate park, Reki’s head resting on Langa’s chest, and they had no intentions of leaving anytime soon.
