Those who have prepped for the Apocalypse, how did you react when it finally happened?

I won't go into too much detail, but I always thought I was prepared. I expected zombies or maybe nuclear wars, and if I was feeling extra paranoid, aliens.
I think we can all agree what happened was much different, but at first I was almost relieved. I wasn't crazy! And my preparation finally will pay off, right?
Well, you probably know how this story ends.
Seriously, who could have predicted every reflective surface becoming sentient and trying to take my place?? At one point I tried to drink some water and boom! It tried to drink me instead. At least all the people who used to say I was an idiot for having been worried hold their tongues now, I was luckier than most.

Well at the start I was super smug, my bunker protected me and my family just fine!
At least, that's what I thought first before my wife pointed out that doesn’t the area feel a bit..smaller?
Welp, turns out that every hour the walls closed in by one inch LOL! It did not affect us much at first, but as you can imagine after a few weeks it got uh, crowded.
I had to get several surgeries to reverse the effects of my bones and organs being reshaped, it's a miracle that I survived.
never thought of myself as very claustrophobic before, but now I can’t be in a room for too long without freaking out, and my youngest lost the ability to walk.
Overall I’m not sure if I regret all the preparation I did, I sometimes wonder if I haven't done what I did if I would have been condemned. To a worse fate.

My guns were all a waste, every time I tried to shoot one of those freaky bug-things that were bothering me, my bullets turned into centipedes that then tried to crawl into my mouth!

I want to say that i reacted in fear, or felt vindicated, but in reality at the start i felt SUPER hungry! like, no matter how much i ate i never felt full. the only thing that sated my cravings for even a second was consuming my own flesh, and after a few days gave in and tried some other peoples… thank god america made everything that happened in the “Incident Times” not legally accountable!

So you know when you walk into a pet store that caters to reptiles, they
have a little area dedicated to beetles and mealworms and other bugs?
They sell this little green jar of jelly that you use to feed crickets and ants,
and pretty much I...sometimes buy a jar or two and eat it like jello?
I never craved it before the apocalypse so uh yeah, but besides that
I consider myself pretty unaffected overall.

Okay so unless you were in the UK during the apocalypse, I get that you wouldn't have the most knowledge about this.
HOWEVER to anyone who was, or even near London at the time almost all have an...experience with The Archivist.
It was pretty much immune to the horrors, but unlike many of the monsters who were immune, it was able to leave and
travel to other domains without being bound to one. I don’t know much, but some speculate it had some part in all of
this happening due to a few people who have encountered The Archivist saying so, but we have no solid proof.
Either way, It was terrifying, I mean everything was but The Archivist was extra bad. Apparently, it narrated the torture
you were going through in a really invasive way? I didn't know it was uh, able to “Turn people into ants” but I don't doubt it.
anyway, we have no idea where it went.
This is a shame since I know many people who would like to recreate the uh… “Simon Fairchild“ fiasco.
