Work Text:

Naruto frowned at the message from his boyfriend.

[1320 Green Mt Way. 30 minutes.]

[Do not forget your motorcycle.]

Sasuke was not a texting kind of person, so the blond found it a little strange that the raven decided to reach him this way. Usually, the stoic looking man would simply call and converse that way with people.

Naruto responded.

[Huhhh?? You want me to pick you up on my bike???]

They had a date planned for today. Sasuke reached out to him last week and asked if they could try out that new Korean BBQ place together, to which Naruto responded with an enthusiastic ‘Fuck yeah!’.

Of course, their plans were delayed when Sasuke explained he had some kinda ‘business meeting’. Naruto didn’t dare prod, since their relationship was relatively new at only two months. He knew Sasuke was a busy guy, though, being some kinda marketing executive or whatever. Something to do with his family business and the Uchiha name.

Naruto didn’t care about all that, truth be told. He knew not of the lives of the rich and powerful, as he grew up an orphan with an estranged and eccentric ‘uncle’. He cared about Sasuke, though, and this stuff seemed kinda important to him.

[Yes. Bring the bike.]

Naruto looked below him, where he was indeed sitting on his brand new motorcycle. It was a bright orange motorcycle made for speed and made a loud revving noise wherever he went. It was a birthday gift from his uncle, but Sasuke, his boyfriend, hated the thing. He complained it was loud, obnoxious and reckless just like Naruto.

Naruto drove it as much as he could, much to the annoyance of his boyfriend. He knew Sasuke just cared for his well-being and safety, and that came in the form of his DMs being filled with article upon article on how dangerous motorcycles were to drive.

[Lol why]

No response, but Sasuke definitely saw the message.

Naruto shrugged it off and placed his phone into his backpack. Sasuke did say that Naruto had to arrive within 30 minutes, so maybe the raven was just being punctual?

He slipped on his helmet and revved his bike down the street before speeding off.

Sasuke hated these business meetings.

Well, he wasn’t entirely sure if ‘business meetings’ was an appropriate way to label ‘dinner with the Uchiha family’ but that’s how the young inheritor saw fit. Every family interaction, every dinner and birthday celebration was plagued with conversations about the Uchiha empire. It was nauseating, but Sasuke grit his teeth and continued. This was all for his future, after all.

They were eating at Itachi’s pathetically humble home. It was a meager two stories with 7 bedrooms, but there was no private security nor there a guest house. His parents echoed his attitudes, remarking that Itachi might have been more happy had he chosen to inherit the family company like Sasuke did, but his older brother did not appear bothered.

Itachi’s wife and children were nowhere to be seen, and the raven assumed it was entirely due to the presence of their parents. Not that Sasuke could blame his older brother, of course. He would distance his family from his business-driven parents if he had children of his own.

As discreetly as he could, Sasuke checked the time on his watch. His parents didn’t notice though, as they were too busy lecturing Itachi between bites of expensive sushi.

It was half past two o’clock now. Naruto should be here at any minute.

Sasuke’s lip curled. Naruto. What started as a thoughtless one-night stand blossomed into something truly unique, as Naruto was just a warm ball of energy, ready to go at any time. Like a puppy, he wouldn’t leave Sasuke’s side even when asked. Eventually, Sasuke saw the merit of dating someone so different from his past endeavors and decided to make it official with the blond.

Sasuke must’ve zoned out.

“What on Earth is that noise?” Sasuke’s mother asked, her face curling offendedly. “Good lord—“

“Sasuke, let’s go see who’s making that racket,” His father gently ordered, pointing a stray finger towards the door.

Itachi looked slightly relaxed, as the giant microscope was off him for a few breathable moments.

Sasuke tried hard to not smile at the familiar sound of a motorcycle engine in the distance. He approached the front door and threw it open, his footsteps growing giddy as he realized his parents were following closely behind.

A hideously bright orange color was spotted in the distance. The driver atop the orange monstrosity had taut and tanned muscle surrounding their lean bone structure. Dark green tattoos snaked down one arm and up against his neck, disappearing into the bird’s nest of blond hair. His faded T-shirt flapped in the wind and his jeans were faded and clad with dust.

Sasuke couldn’t help but feel his heart skip a beat at the sight. Though he hated Naruto’s ownership of the motorcycle, he couldn’t deny how good Naruto looked riding it.

“Don’t tell me he’s coming to this house,” Sasuke’s father snarled. “Itachi—what kind of neighborhood are you living in, anyway?”

Naruto pulled into the drive thru, shutting off his bike and swinging his weight off the machine. The sun caught the glisten of his muscles in a way that made Sasuke’s mouth run dry. He hooked his thumbs into his helmet and shed the thing, swinging his blond hair into its natural, spiky state.

Naruto blinked up at the family staring at him from the doorway, blue eyes glimmering like the sea.

“O-Oh, hi!” Naruto stammered, holding up a hand. His voice, raspy and deep, sent Sasuke into full on smug mode. He crossed his arms triumphantly and looked over at his parents, whose jaws had dropped.

“You must be Sasuke’s folks,” Naruto set his helmet on the bike before laughing nervously. He reached a muscled arm up to scratch the back of his neck. “Aw, jeeze—I didn’t think I’d be meeting your folks this way—“

“And who the hell are you?” His father asked, his voice ringing with anger. “Who are your parents?”

“That’s Naruto,” Sasuke stepped forward, looking over his shoulder. “He’s my boyfriend.”

Sasuke wish he had a camera on him so he could capture the look on his parent’s face. It was a mosaic of emotions, from anger to shock to disbelief to rage. He couldn’t help but feel his chest swell at this.

“Let’s go, Naruto,” Sasuke ordered gently, stepping closer to the bike. “I’m done with my business meeting and I’m starving.”

Naruto looked shaken. “Wh-What? Just like that, Sasuke? I’m not gonna say hi, or—?”

“No,” Sasuke coolly replied, grabbing the spare helmet Naruto had brought in his backpack. “Let’s get going. No questions until I get some barbecue in my stomach. Got it?”

Naruto gulped before glancing back at his parents. “Whatever you say, Sasuke.”
