Work Text:

Music blasts all across the flicking lights of the dance club, people are grinding on each other's body like it's the last night of their lives and some are just sitting by the counter drinking alcohol that intoxicates their system.

Then a girl in the corner of the club crouching down alone with her nasty vomits all over the place. Seems like no one notices her struggles as people are busy with their own businesses. She is having difficulty standing up not until hands are guiding her body towards the magic place called the 'restroom'.

Without hesitation, she perches her hands around the stranger's neck and nuzzles her head, sloppily. The stranger's scent is too familiar to her but nausea is blocking her mind to process who it belongs to.

"Hey, wakey wakey. The bowl's all yours" her face felt a light slap multiple times as she heard the girl's annoyed tone saying the words.

She looks up to face the person but then it's all blurry. The corner of her lips lift then a chuckle is heard after when a certain silver hair caught her blurred vision while looking at the stranger.

"It should be me, not him" she stutters, caressing the stranger's familiar face but eventually toxins in her body scatters all over the stranger's brand new red and black flannel.

"Aish! Great! Now I smell like a rotten meat! Just great, Ji" she hears the girl's slightly irritated but concerned tone before everything went black.

The scent of coffee and a newly cooked eggs and bread permeates the air as she stretches out her body, yawning. She quickly gets up and a pain in her head felt like crashing onto the wall but a voice she knew enters the room with a tray of food in her small hands.

"Yow, eat these first before we go to school" a genuine smile is looking at her perplexed face.

"I'm not in my home" she gulps so hard as she scans the familiar room which brings a lot of memories flashing through her eyes.

"Bora, that tickles" her laughs were barely heard everytime a tickle attacked her abdomen. Bora sensed her friend struggled to breath and uncling herself from her friend.

"Come on! The tree must have been done with baking our favorite..."

"MACAROONS!" they both yelled in excitement and giggled when a certain tall blonde haired girl storming into the room with a frown on her face.

"I burnt it" she pouted and then launched her huge body onto her bestfriends...

She shakes the memory away as it brings her pain the most. Bora holds her hand in comfort when she sees her friend who's in deep thought probably reminiscing the happy memories this room brings to her.

"You were wasted. I just couldn't leave my friend alone with strangers inside the club, so I brought you here, JiU" she explains, smiling.

She manages to nod lightly and narrows her eyes at her friend as she deeply sighs.

"You can call me Minji, Bora. You are my friend. Bestfriend" She cups her friend's face and smiles with her alluring eyes.

"I know changes made us apart but..." a finger landed on her lips, shushing her.

"But we did, Minji" she says, there's a streak of sadness in her voice.

"We really grew apart because of that one incident. But come on! Let bygones be bygones and we're late! I don't want the princess be looking wasted on a first day of her senior year!" she exclaims, grinning. She knows bringing up the past would only makes the girl uncomfortable.

Minji smacks her friend's shoulders and continues to eat the delicious food, her friend makes.

Bora just carefully watching her friend eating and hoping everything will be settled between them and her other friend.

~
A trio strutting through the hallways passing by their avid fans as they fall to the ground, drooling by the beauty of the trio holds capturing each students' hearts.

The tall silver haired girl blows kisses to the male student who comes her way for an autograph as a smirk plasters on her face when the person blushes like a mess. She knows deeply how to make everyone fall for her charms but her fragile heart belongs to a person waiting at the door of their classroom .

Her other two friends share a smug smile and hold each other's hands, leaving the couple to have their moment. As the blue and blonde haired girl take their leave, a boy speaks in his hoarse voice which makes the girl moves forward to his side.

"So, love. How's your morning?" she puts both her arms around his neck and landed a soft kiss on his lips.

"Seeing your face, love makes my day amazing" another soft kiss landed as a teasing smirk plastered on her face under her breath, hearing a familiar footsteps and a voice she tries to ignore all her high school life.

"It's early in the morning, and you two lovebirds just ruined my day" Minji rolls her eyes in disgust, seeing the silver haired girl clinging onto her boyfriend.

"Oh! Didn't see you there, JiU. Perhaps, are you jealous?" She leaned in forward, staring at her with that confident look on her face.

"Yoohyeon, get over it. I don't want someone who is a cheater. Poor you, he's just using you for fame" Minji scoffs, smirking evilly when she sees the silver haired girl snarls in annoyance which only tells she's pissed off.

Yoohyeon pushes her twice and when Minji's back is on the other side of the hallways she slams her right hand, intensely looking straight to her brown orbs, staring at those lips but Minji does not even flinch at her sudden move, instead she just laugh and playfully slaps her pretty face to even tease the girl. The two glare at each other ready for another fight of the year.

"Violence does not resolve things or even insults. Just stop it, you two! It's our last year and I'm hoping you stop fighting!" A small girl, Bora yells in frustration making the two looks at her, leaving them dumbfounded.

"Let's go, Charlie" Yoohyeon takes his hand on her own ignoring Minji. The latter dusts her clothes off and heads to their classroom.

~
The school cafeteria's filled with indistinctive noises by the students grouped themselves according to their own interests. Jocks, nerds, cheerleaders, singers, dancers and then there's one table that does not comply with the faction system of the school.

"The prom night's fast approaching and I'm sure they both are going to sign up for being the queen of the school" Bora says nonchalantly.

"And chaos will ensue, I just know it" she adds.

"Atleast they're not harming or bullying people. They're actually nice, Bora" a short haired girl says, stuffs her mouth with food, knowing what her friend is saying.

"Yubin, I know but they are hurting each other just to get ahead of EACH OTHER" Bora deeply sighs as she watches Minji talking with her group of popular friends and Yoohyeon who is busy flirting with boys and girls who are head over heels for her.

Yoohyeon's famous for her vocal ability along with Siyeon and Handong. These three combined could make your heart melt just by hearing their serene voices altogether.

"I will be going to write about the prom though, so it's gonna be interesting this year" Bora furrows her brows in shock as Yubin raise her palms indicating not to fight.

"It's my job as a student writer, okay? So, I think I will be seeing more of your friends" Yubin nervously laughs.

"Definitely this is gonna be an interesting year" Bora heaves a sigh before sipping her drink.

~
"Love, you're gonna win this. Imma be your king and you'll be my queen" Charlie confidently says as Yoohyeon signs up both their names for the prom's king and queen.

"I know, love" Yoohyeon kisses his cheeks.

"Siyeon, Handong are you contemplating to go against me?" Yoohyeon raises her brows when she saw her two friends eyeing the paper taped on the bulletin board.

"OF COURSE NOT, YOOHYEON!" They both respond in unison, staring at each other's eyes and shrugs it off.

"Good to know. I don't want to be friends with traitors" Yoohyeon threatens, faking a smile.

"Girls, just let us be! This is gonna be our year" Charlie added, lifting Yoohyeon's chin for a kiss but is interrupted by another person's voice that Yoohyeon hated the most in school, Minji.

"I hope not. I'm gonna go against you, Yoohyeon without a king because I'm capable of doing things on my own" Minji challenges in her shrill voice while writing her name on the paper below Yoohyeon's name.

Yoohyeon lets out a small laugh and rest her head against the wall, crossing her arms for a better view of her enemy.

"Or you just want to steal Charlie from me, M-Jiu" Yoohyeon almost said her real name which she was prohibited since their broken friendship during freshman year.

Minji brushes her shoulders against the girl and says:

"I hated your guts, Yoohyeon. You started it, I am going to end it with or without Charlie" she walks away from the unbearable moment without looking back, flipping her hair as smirk plasters on her face.

"Bring it on, bitch!" she yells with gritted teeth and runs her hands through her hair, grunting in annoyance. Minji gives her a middle finger in the air in response.

"Love, I'm all yours okay? Relax" Charlie smiles in satisfaction as he softly caresses her back, in fact he likes it when girls fight over him. He's going to be a king of prom with either of the two and he still likes it.

~
"You know, Handong since Yoohyeon dated Charlie she changed, and I don't like it" Siyeon states, rolling her pen on her fingers.

"I agree, Si. She used to be a sweet girl but she was consumed by fame. I missed the old Yoohyeon" Handong sighs and rests her head on the girl's shoulder.

"And Minji is provoking her. All I know is they used to be best of friends along with Bora. But what changed, I wonder" Siyeon says, pondering.

"Charlie, I think" they both giggle.

~
A deep voice clearing his throat is heard all across the school's ground, announcing the final candidates for the prom's king and queen in two weeks.

"Alright ladies and gents, here's the final list of the bravest souls vying for the crown of prom queen. Fortunately, there's only one who signed up as prom king and that is Charlie Davis, so he'll be crown during prom night as king by default. But anyways, the fight for the prom queen's position is exciting as three amazing ladies decided to fight for the crown, namely:
Yoohyeon Kim, Minji Kim and Claire Topps. May the best girl wins!"

"Yoohyeon's definitely my queen"

"Minji is nice, she deserves to be the queen"

"I can't choose, they're both my favorite except Claire though I don't know that girl at all"

"Bitches be fighting for stupid crowns"

"Minji and Yoohyeon fighting for prince charming, me thinks"

"We need a new face and Claire is the new face"

"Yoohyeon's been being a stubborn rich kid these days, I'm voting for Minji"

"Minji's always been nice except for Yoohyeon though"

Opinions circling around the school when the announcement is out. Some are excited, some are unbothered and there is Bora, tense.

"This is a cat fight" Bora whispers. Headaches engulfing her head as both of her hands are on her head, massaging it lightly. Then not long after, a tap on her shoulder is felt. Turning around she sees a blonde haired girl with a wolf like eyes staring at her stressful state, genuinely smiling.

"Great, what is it? One of Yoohyeon's minions" Bora rolls her eyes, saying those words sarcastically. She could not hide her annoyance towards Yoohyeon's friends since the huge stain of their friendship happened or it's just she misses both of them.

Siyeon, the blonde haired girl raises her hands to show her good intentions then says: "Relax, I'm not here to fight. I think we do have same problem" she smiles as Bora's face turns into disgust, not used to be talking with one of the popular girls. They are off limits as she thought and no one dared to talk to them especially a person like her: unpopular, and invisible.

Then another tap on her shoulder, this time it belongs to the another friend of Yoohyeon, Handong. Just like Siyeon, she raises her hands, no intention to fight the small girl when she sees her guard ready to pull her hair at any given moment.

"Oh! Bora, feisty I like it" the blue haired girl chuckles and winks at the girl which makes Bora even more confuse.

"You know what, what do you want? Is it another prank show you three pulled through? Where's the fuckin camera?!" Bora quickly stands up and looks around to spot a sign of camera lens but to no avail.

The two popular girls giggle at Bora then Siyeon pats her back, shaking her head.

"Calm down, is that what you think of us? A trio of pranksters and no brain popular? We are nothing like the teenage popular movies you watch, Bora. We aren't like that" Siyeon retorts.

"And we admit we do pranks but they're harmless, Bora..." Handong's words are interrupted by a finger on her lips as she heard Bora snorts.

"But you humiliate innocent students. I don't get why Yubin thinks you're all nice where in fact you three humiliated her in front of the crowd in the cafeteria just because she talks in tiny fonts" Both Siyeon and Handong looks at each other and fake a smile towards Bora, shrugging their shoulders.

"I need fresh air. Not plastic!" Bora walks out brushing Siyeon's shoulders, the two popular girls just deeply sigh.

~
The sound of phones chiming in surrounding the school grounds. Students' murmurs are getting into Gahyeon's ears as she takes pictures of the first campaign for the prom's queen. If she did not apply for a photographer position in the Writing Club, she should not be here in the first place. And Yubin, the head student writer even pressures her to take photos every single day for scoop.

"Yoohyeon is so hot! Look at those pigtails! I'm so gonna vote for her" one student looking through her phone, if Gahyeon's not wrong she's an avid fan of Yoohyeon. She sighs deeply taking a picture of her.

"Minji's undoubtedly nice even with her captions but come on! The photo though, I'm ascending. AAAAAAAA" the female student yelled with so much admiration.

Click.

Click.

Click.

"Claire's just normal compared to the other two, eh" a male student shrugs then puts his phone on his pocket.

Another click.

"Hey, Gahyeon-ah! Wait!" A female voice screams out her name.

"Yubin, I took some pictures in this fine morning" Gahyeon sarcastically says, rolling her eyes at Yubin who ruffles her hair for doing a great job.

"Great! Have you seen their posts? It's really a close fight, well in the case of Minji and Yoohyeon. That Claire girl doesn't stand a chance" Yubin giggles and scrolls through her phone for Gahyeon to see.

"Hello lovelies, it's a great morning! Have fun in class 💋😉" Gahyeon reads out loud Minji's caption and gasps at the photo below the caption. A black haired girl, her hair smoothly runs over her shoulders with her black dress so enticing to see and her hands rests on her head wearing a slightly smiling face as she directly looks at the camera probably seducing the person who sees the photo.

"I'm a hot girl! 😏 🥵 " Gahyeon reads the caption of Yoohyeon's post as her eyes widen in shock how definitely hot the girl is. Wearing her checkered skirt and leather blazer with her pigtail hair as her cold expressions inviting you to her world.

"Hi! I'm Claire 🥰" Gahyeon chuckles as she remembered the guy's comment earlier. She definitely is just a normal girl, wearing a flower dress with a smile so weird that she can't even look at it for long.

"Claire just wanted to spice things up between the two, I think" Yubin comments, giggling. Gahyeon joins in after.

"So, how do we start?" Gahyeon asks as Yubin heaves a sigh.

"Well, I guess we have to wait for some drama" the short haired girl fixes her round glass and says with her shoulders slouching.

~
"Do I look hot in the photo girls?" Yoohyeon asks her friends, their heels screeching through the hallways.

"Yoohyeon, you always do" Siyeon and Handong respond in unison.

"I'll be there in a minute, Seungyeon" a joyful voice yet so familiar to Yoohyeon's ears is heard from the other side of the hallway. Her steps are heavy and panting.

As the trio is about to turn around, Yoohyeon bumps with someone, immediately apologizing without looking at the person she bumps with. She's on the floor and her head lifts up to look at the person she despise.

"Well well well, look who's here. A damsel in distress. Will you want me to help you, Jiu?" She smirks as she held her hand over to Minji only to be snap away.

"I don't want YOUR help. I can stand on my own" Minji stands up and moves her body away from the tall silver haired girl but the latter caught her wrist.

"Look, Yoohyeon. I don't wanna fight. I still have a show to attend to" Minji rolls her eyes, trying to loosen from the grip but Yoohyeon is strong.

"I will win, Minji" the black haired girl widens her eyes in shock when she heard her real name from the girl which was so special for her. A tingling pain is felt to her heart as she runs her hands through her hair.

"Don't call me by my name, Yoohyeon. You are not allowed to" Minji seriously says, glaring at her ex friend.

"You call me by my real name, but I can't. That's just..." she halts as the corner of her lip lifts up a little with a trace of sadness in her eyes.

"Absurd, Minji" she tilts her head as she states her next words.

"Well, I am known by the name JiU. Call me that. You are not my friend anymore, Kim Yoohyeon" she says, vehemently.

Yoohyeon loosen her grip and shakes her head, watching her ex friend walks away from her.

"That crown will be mine, Yoohyeon!" Minji yells, strutting her way towards the dance studio.

"Be careful, Jiu. Don't trip!" Yoohyeon yells back, rolling her eyes.

~
"Minji, where'd you go?" Bora asks as she sees her friend panting so hard.

"I just went to my locker for my shoes" Minji smiles at her friend and pinches her cheeks. She misses her friend so much. Maybe both her and Yoohyeon forgot the friendship with Bora as time passes by because of their fight.

"Minji, do you really want to be crown as prom queen?" Bora asks while putting on her shoes for the mini show of the dance club. Basically, Minji convinces her friend to join the club not because of fame but to showcase her amazing talent to the students before graduation. She cannot deny the fact how talented of a dancer Bora is. She used to show her dance moves in front of her and... Yoohyeon when they were teenagers but because of their fight she suddenly stops.

A heavy sigh comes out from Minji's mouth as she contemplates on what to say. She wanted to be but not like this kind of competition. Her fame did not consume her like Yoohyeon did, she remains to be a nice person but people like Yoohyeon looks at her as one of those mean girls in movies.

"I do, Bora" she fakes a smile. Yoohyeon makes her want to do it. To stop her.

To stop her dating Charlie because that guy is a walking disaster.

"That bastard!" she mentally curses.

"I know you, Minji. You wanted to get back to Charlie. Do you?" Bora says as her left hand wraps around her waist and pulls her into her.

"No, Bora. You did not know anything" she mentally says. Truthfully, she is oblivious of what happened between the two of them. All she knew was Charlie's the main reason of it all.

But Minji manages to nod and gives a weak smile to her friend. Well, she ain't ready to tell her yet.

"He's a dumbass, Minji. Why are you two fighting over him?" she chuckles lightly at how absurd her reasoning is.

As she was about to open her mouth to respond, Seungyeon calls for them as the show is about to start and they are the opening act.

"Girls, we're up! Let's go"

Minji puts on her shoes on her right foot and groans in pain as she felt something piercing through her sole. She loses her balance and thankfully, Bora is there to catch her in time.

"Hey, I did not know a dance princess like you will be out of balance and... nervous?" Bora is confuse, Minji's hands are sweaty. She never had been nervous in times like these. She is always confident. So, she turns and look at her friend, struggling to smile.

"I'm fine, Bora. Let's go" Minji straightens her back and pretends like there's nothing wrong with her.

"Shit this hurts!" she mentally curses.

Claps from the audience boom the entire dance hall and screaming for Minji's name as she and Bora comes out from the backstage.

Minji scans the bleachers, smiling but quickly turns into anger when Charlie's hand is on Yoohyeon's waist, kissing her cheeks. She glares at the direction of the couple where Yoohyeon caught her staring as she lets out small laugh and a teasing smirk and kisses Charlie passionately to which Minji snorted.

"Disgusting!" Minji whisper yells as the pain on her sole is stinging.

The music begins and despite the pain she continues to dance until the end of the show.

As soon as the spotlight is not on her, she lets herself fall to the ground and hurriedly put out her shoes on her right foot, then there's she sees a two pins on the sole of her shoes and there's blood.

"Damn! I'm so dumb! How did I not see it earlier..." she stops when she recall something about Yoohyeon had said earlier.

"Aish!!... I-" Bora crouches down, cutting her off. Her friend helps her to stand up as her dance mates watch in horror.

"Minji! We gotta go to the clinic" Minji tried to let go to find Yoohyeon but instead Bora refrain her from doing so. And everything blurs her vision.

~
"I think she sprains her foot, that small girl hurriedly helps her go to the infirmary" one student says in worried tone.

"How can she dance with the king during the prom now?"

"It's just a sprain, y'all are overreacting. Yoohyeon's gonna win"

"Claire might have a chance"

Yubin and Gahyeon furrow their brows in confusion while the latter clutches her camera on her chest as Yubin gives her a knowing look.

"I swear to god, Yubs. This is not a scoop, this is an accident" Gahyeon struggles to talk as Yubin drags her towards the infirmary for more information.

"Gahyeon, it's Minji" Yubin stops and looks at her photogragher.

"Then? She's human" she responds.

"You don't understand. Minji is running for prom queen. That being said, she's a public figure. People wanna know what's happening behind the scenes and we're the only ones gonna give them that. It's our job!" Yubin exclaims.

"A requirement, Yubin. Requirement! Not a job. I'm still a student!" Gahyeon disagrees but ends up following her friend towards where the scoop is: infirmary.

~
"I swear to god Bora, she did this!" Minji growls in anger. She was trying to be nice as much as possible towards her but she just started a war and Minji does not want to go to a battle without a fight.

"You know her, she cannot do it" Bora reassures but to no avail, Minji is clouded by her anger.

"She wanted it badly, Bora. She will do everything to jeopardize my image" Minji hisses, and gets up from the clinic's bed. But Bora holds her in.

"You're not well yet"

"I don't care!"

She takes a pair of crutches to help her walk towards the cafeteria, mad. Very mad.

Her fiery eyes filled with so much anger, despite of her being out of breath she takes the lemonade juice from the student who greets her and her orbs are directly fixated on the silver haired girl sitting on a shared table with her friends, laughing.

"So this is funny to you, huh?" She whispers to herself, ignoring the pain on her foot.

She halts at the back of her ex friend and with a smug grin painted on her face, she pours out the cold lemonade juice all over her.

Yoohyeon gasps in shock, shuddering from the sudden attack of her ex friend and not long after, Minji spots a plate full of spaghetti and smothers it to Yoohyeon's surprise face.

"Here's a cup as your crown, queen" she gently perches the empty cup on her head. Leaving behind the chaos and humiliation she caused, she heard the silver haired girl screams so loud that echoes inside the cafeteria.

"JIUUUUUUUUUUUUUU, this is war!" She yells out as students who witness the context are left astounded and shock.

"Love, you go wash in the restroom. You look like a mess" her boyfriend laughs as she glares at him and walks out the vicinity along with her friends.

"This is a scoop" Gahyeon widens her eyes, incredulously. Without knowing, Yubin puts on her widest grin as she takes some pictures of the mess.

~
"I look like a clown" Yoohyen says rather calmly inside the washroom.

"Yoohyeon, did you—" Siyeon says only to be interrupted by Yoohyeon's sudden laugh.

"I did nothing, Siyeon" Yoohyeon seriously says while wiping out the sauce on her face. She fakes a laugh which the other two girls inside the washroom stun.

"Girls, I have no idea what's got into her, okay? I play fair. But..." she pauses, looking at her friend's confused expressions.

"I still.. wanna play fair but with twists" the silver haired girl smirks which only means she had something on her mind which is unexpected.

~
A week before the homecoming night and it has been peaceful. No fights, no insults, it's just like any other day. Gahyeon and Yubin have already compiled the things that had transpired the other week.

"They seemed quiet, it has been three days. Probably preparing for the prom" Gahyeon talks to herself while scrolling through her photo files.

Maybe Gahyeon's words comes to life as she heard commotion outside the writing club's office. She hurriedly goes outside with a camera she clutches on her chest in case a certain unique event would happen.

And she is not wrong.

Minji is frantically jumping around the hallways, screaming like a scared kid. Her foot just healed from what she presumed was Yoohyeon's fault and there she is probably testing the waters.

Gahyeon's eyes land on a certain tall silver haired girl who is secretly laughing on her own. The students around just seem to enjoy the show as no one even budge to help the dancing princess.

"Who puts a fucking frog inside my hat?!" Minji yells visibly trembling from the prank. They were all surprise that Minji is able to yell like that as they see her as one of the most composed popular girls in school.

Then a slim hand raising among the crowd with her loud laughter, clapping her hands and revealing herself to the black haired girl who is in verge of anger.

"I did, queen. The frog serves as your crown because you love to stick your tongue out without further investigation" she sarcastically responds.

"Yoohyeon!" she walks towards her with heavy steps ready to fight her. But instead she stops to her side then threatens:

"This is not over, Kim" she holds out her ex friend's hand and puts the tiny frog on hers then she leaves, leaving Yoohyeon slightly smiling at the cute frog.

"Bring it on, Kim" she whispers and whistles her way out towards her next class.

Gahyeon is speechless to what she just witness but then her reflexes flicks the camera and capture it all.

The next few days before the prom night are full of pranks, gimmicks and vengeance from both of the candidates: Minji and Yoohyeon.

Minji took her revenge by putting a glue on the silver haired girl's assigned seat in one of her classes making Yoohyeon ran around the hallways with her chair on her butt chasing Minji.

Out of annoyance, Yoohyeon poured out a pail of vinegar on Minji as she was about to enter their classroom in the presence of their teacher. Minji was a walking stinky mess for about three hours during the day.

Series of pranks from her friends seemed to be getting into Bora's nerves and an entertainment on Charlie's part. They just have caused a real life comedic skit out of themselves that every student in school anticipate on what the next scene would be.

"This is getting out of hand" Bora tells Yubin who remains unbothered of what is happening between the most popular girls in school.

"And they are just getting more mad at each other" Bora added, stuffing her mouth with egg sandwich.

"Bora, as much as I want some gossips and scoop. I do want them to reconcile. And I'm with you. They need to grow up, you know" Yubin weakly smiles at her friend who is really worried.

"What's the plan?!" Siyeon and Handong say in unison out of nowhere which makes the other girls flinch at the suddenness of their appearance.

"What an actual fuck Siyeon, Handong!" Bora yells.

"You two are nosy, what are you doing here? You should be on Yoohyeon's side" Bora adds, rolling her eyes and is about to leave but Siyeon stops her to do so.

"Bora, we just want to help ending the rivalry between Jiu and Yoohyeon. We just want peace" Siyeon states, raising both her brows and purses her lips.

Sounds tempting in the ears of Bora but that was the last thing she wanted to do, asking for help from Yoohyeon's friends. She just does not trust them.

"I don't know what got into them on why they are so mad at each other but we have to let them talk with each other like only THEM lock in the room so that they have no way out" Handong unknowingly suggests wherein the heads of three people perks and stare at her in awe.

"That's a great idea. We can do that" Yubin agrees.

"Impossible! They hate each other, and just a minute in a room together, they're just going to eat each other's faces" Bora reluctantly objects.

"We gotta take a chance, come on! And probably instead of eating each other's faces, they're gonna make out in that room. Such a great plan, eh?" Siyeon says looking at the ceiling, pondering which makes Bora's face turns into disgust.

"Siyeon! I didn't know you have that kind of mind" Bora exclaims. Yubin and Handong secretly laughs at the little bickering of the girls.

"Because you're avoiding us, Bora. That's why" the blonde haired girl retorts as Bora sighs deeply.

"Okay, I hated it that we're teaming up. But alright, we have to do it" Bora finally gives in, Siyeon suddenly hugs her from behind like a puppy clinging to her owner. Bora's cheeks then getting hot from the gesture as her hands automatically trails up to where Siyeon's hands located.

"Yey! Let's go!" Gahyeon interrupts, slamming the table making the four people surprise at her loudness.

"Geez, Gahyeon. You're giving us a heart attack!" Yubin furrows her brows at her photographer.

"When did you get here?" Handong asks, looking around.

"I'm invisible" Gahyeon teases.

~
Charlie walks the hallways with his head high and smirk plasters on his face as he sees a black haired girl crunching her nose at the bulletin board eyeing a certain name.

"Kim Yoohyeon" she whispers but then she heard another voice saying the name: Charlie.

"Charlie. Seems like you're not with Yoohyeon. You two broke up?" Minji glares at him only to receive a perverted smirk from him.

Then a hand gripping her wrist pulling her towards an empty hall. Slamming her against the walls, grunting in pain.

He scoffs, "Getting there" he looks at her lips and he's leaning forward slowly.

"The fuck, Charlie. You're unbelievable. Tell me, you're using her, do you?" Minji spats making Charlie looks away and not long after he slams his hands against the wall and his hungry eyes staring directly at her orbs.

"No. She's just too in love with me she can't even live without me" Charlie responds, leaning in forward leaving an inch of space between them.

"Get off of me!" She struggles to let go from the tighten grip of the boy.

As he was about to kiss Minji, a tall figure is standing outside the empty hall in total shock and angry eyes are looking directly at Minji.

"Yoohyeon!" Minji yells, pushing Charlie so hard while the latter just heaves a sigh with a smile on his face walking slowly towards the girls.

"It's not what you think!" Minji shouts making Yoohyeon stops from her tracks while Charlie just runs his hands through her slick back hair, leaning against the wall watching the exchange of the popular girls.

Yoohyeon turns around, clenching her fists with glistening eyes.

"What will I think? You just happen to be face to face with MY boyfriend like it's magic? Tell me!" Yoohyeon walks in tiny towards Minji with her fiery eyes.

"He drags me in the hallway, Yoohyeon. He uh..." Minji trails from her words as she sees Yoohyeon's tears. It's all coming back to where Yoohyeon begs her to stay. Her tears was all the same just like before, crying and begging her to stay.

"Minji, please it's not what you think. I don't love him!" Her cries echoes in her head. Her heart wanted to comfort the girl but her mind telling her not to.

"She's in love with him. She's in love with him. You got no chance with her, Minji" the phrase kept on repeating in her mind to the point she believed it.

"Yoohyeon, we're through..."

Her thoughts are interrupted by a slap on her face. And there she sees sadness in Yoohyeon's eyes just like before.

Before.

But it's not because of him.

It was her.

"You fuckin cheating whore! You should have taken your own medicine, Jiu" Yoohyeon attacks her by pulling her hair, dragging straight through the halls but halts when Minji pushes her against the wall as Yoohyeon screams out of her lungs.

"Yoohyeon! He tries to kiss me! It's not the other way around!" Minji tries to reason to calm the girl.

"Yooh... believe me. Please" she softly adds.

"I did that before but it didn't work. How can I believe you?" Yoohyeon whispers as she looks at the direction where Charlie is who's grinning at their situation.

"Get off of me!" Yoohyeon yells as Minji do what her ex friend says.

There, the silver haired girl runs away furiously from everyone.

Minji who is really mad, punches the pretty face of the bastard who started it all.

"You like this! Go to hell!" Minji spats and kicks the side of Charlie, running away from him after.

But a firm grip stops her.

"Bora, what are you doing?" No response. Her friend only drags her to gymnasium near the bleachers, a door leading to where the mops and brooms are located. Tiny room, perfect for two persons to talk.

"I know this is not the right time, Minji. But you two really need to talk. It's been long overdue" Bora softly says, caressing her back.

"Is she there?" Bora nods, smiling sadly.

"Okay, I'll go in. I know she's probably crying over there. That brat." Minji jokes but sadness in her voice is evident. Even though, her high school life with Yoohyeon were full of hatred, she didn't wish EVER for Yoohyeon to be hurt like this. In fact, she is hurting too when she's hurt.

The pranks and childish gimmicks were a ladder for them to stepped on for reconciliation. But, pride and prejudices held them back to do so.

She enters the small room, and she is right Yoohyeon is crying. She sits, groaning.

"I hope it went well" Siyeon says, hugging Bora along with Handong, Yubin and Gahyeon outside the janitor's room.

"Yeah, and there's one bastard who deserves a beating" Bora says.

~
"Our friends are crazy" Minji starts, receiving a snort from the girl.

"Crazy minds think alike. Why do they even plan to do this with us. We're basically enemies" Yoohyeon bitterly says.

"Bestfriends turned enemies..." Minji states, giggling as Yoohyeon turns around to glare at her.

"Jiu, I don't want to be next with you. I hate you!" Yoohyeon yells with all her soul.

"I figured. But we're stuck, Yoohyeon" she calmy says.

"Then tell them. Tell them! That we will not go back to the way we used to be!" Yoohyeon rolls her eyes, does not like what her friends are doing with them.

"Yooh... I can't even believe I'm saying this, but they have a point. We need to talk." Minji gulps.

"I don't want to talk"

"Then we stay here"

"What's up with you?! You hated me, I hated you. What changed?!" Yoohyeon screams.

"Everything changed, Yoohyeon. Everything between us. And I want to make it right and I know you do too. I can see it in your eyes." Minji answers, cupping Yoohyeon's face. Somehow, her warm hands make her at ease and just stare at Minji's eyes that she missed so much. She closes her eyes and holds Minji's hands as tears falls down her cheeks.

"Jiu, I didn't cheat back then. He was just telling me how broke he is when you broke up with him and eventually he just kissed me" Yoohyeon says as she sobs uncontrollably. After all these years, she finally let that out. She finally confesses without a fight, only Minji's sad smile is all she sees.

"I broke up with him, not because he cheated but because I love someone more than him, and you know it's you, Yoohyeon" Minji looks at her with a trace of sadness and sighs.

"But I was too late to tell you I love you. Because you're taken away from me" Minji adds, almost breaking her voice.

"Then, you started spreading rumours that I cheated on him. Why? Yoohyeon? Why do you have to break our friendship apart for a guy like him?" Minji looks away, hurting. The silver haired girl looks down, fidgeting with her fingers.

"Ji, you don't remember? You rejected me. I confess..." Yoohyeon is cut off by a small laugh from Minji.

"Because you're with him, Yoohyeon. You kissed him and it felt like you do really love him, so I pushed you away. I don't wanna..."

"Jiu! Wake up! I love you, okay? I really do! I felt hurt because it's like you've given me away from the very person who's the reason of our demise. So, I went with the flow hoping you would fight for me but you didn't, Ji" Yoohyeon sniffs as Minji lets out a loud laughter, receiving a light smack from the silver haired girl. Just like old times. They both miss each other. They both miss their warm embrace and subtle touches.

Maybe this abrupt isolation fix things between them. Maybe they both got blinded by love that was left unsaid in the past and everything just went downhill for them.

"We're both fools. It took us three years to talk about it and look at where we are now. Chaos had been done, we hurted each other and locked in a janitor's room, ho-holding hands?" Minji gulps, looking at their intertwined hands.

"Jiu..."

"Call me Minji. I miss you calling me by that name. I just love your voice saying my name" Minji caresses Yoohyeon's face with love in her eyes before hugging her so tight.

"Minji... I just wanted to apologize for everything. I still love you, you know. I would've given up if I didn't see you at the club, wasted. I uh called in Bora to take you since you really hated my guts and I heard you Minji..." she pauses, breaking apart from the hug.

"It should be us..." Yoohyeon kisses Minji's hand as she raises her brows in confusion.

"Wait... so it's really you. I wasn't dreaming. Oh shit! I'm sorry for throwing up..."

"It's nothing like that one certain situation where you poured a lemonade drink and smothered my face full of spaghetti tho. That was worse!" Yoohyeon laughs.

"Aish, if you just did not put pins on my shoes.. I wouldn't have done that..." Yoohyeon furrows her brows.

"I didn't do it, Minji. I can't do such a thing"

"Then who?"

Yoohyeon shrugs. "It must be someone who has huge grudge on you"

"I don't have enemies well except you though" Minji chuckles.

"Forget that... we will catch the culprit. Anyways, can we start over again? This time, no cat fights. Just us, like this. Calm." Yoohyeon genuinely says.

"I love you, Yoohyeon and I'm willing to love you without hesitation, this time" Minji kisses her cheeks. Those warm soft lips melts her heart as it beats rapidly against her chest.

"You know, Bora is stressing over us. We should thank her. She's been so patient for the both of us" Minji says as Yoohyeon nods in response.

"So, I guess. May the best girl wins!"

"May the best girl wins"

They stand up and knock the door inside for Bora to open the door for them. As it opens, the two girls lunge in for a hug to a small girl who's really happy.

"Thank goodness gracious. I thought you two have some scratches" Bora jokes.

"I'm glad for the both of you" she smiles and kiss each cheeks, nonstop as Yoohyeon squeal at the sudden kisses of her friend.

"Group hug!!" Siyeon yells and they did.

And as they part from the hug, Gahyeon takes the opportunity to capture the moment.

"Now, this is wholesome"

~
And as for Charlie, both Minji and Yoohyeon stop Bora from beating the boy instead they have a better plan for him during the prom night.

~
It's the night of all nights for senior year students. Murmurs are spreading across the gymnasium as Minji flaunting with her yellow dress enters the vicinity with Bora who wears white dress making her look like a goddess of beauty.

"Cheater!"

"Yoohyeon and Minji fought over the prom king"

"And whoever wins tonight, get the man"

"I'm excited to see that"

"And if Claire will win, then what?"

Laughters can be heard despite the loud music that boom the entire gymnasium and Minji just shrugs it off while smiling at her friend, Bora.

~
"Is it ready? I wanted to be ready during the coronation of the prom queen, okay? I know that either of them will win it" a hoarse voice talking to three persons who's handling a bucket of green slime with a rope on their hands.

"I didn't know pair of pins would create such an amazing entertainment for myself. I just really love girls fighting over me" laughters echoes inside the male's restroom.

"Son of a bitch!" the blonde haired girl whisper yells as she heard everything.

She runs towards the gymnasium with her blue princess like dress finding her friends.

There she sees Gahyeon taking pictures, Yubin with her notes, Handong who is drinking apple juice and Bora with Minji crossing arms with each other. They look beautiful in this wonderful night.

She goes to them, panting and tells them what she had heard about Charlie's plan later tonight.

"He's an asshole. He's a narcissistic son of a bitch! He really deserves a beating, if y'all did not stop me, I could've done it already" Bora furiously says.

Siyeon pats her back, calming her senses. At this moment, she thought that beating up that guy is the only way to stop his selfishness. She never even liked the guy in the first place. Yoohyeon must have been so blind to be with him.

"Enough girls, someone told me that violence does not resolve things but why are y'all considering it?" Minji says, looking at Bora who shrugs at her.

"This is different, Minji. The amount of pain this boy brings to the both of you is tantamount, Minji. He truly deserves it."

"Then let his own plan humiliate him" Minji smirks at the girls.

"Anyways, where's Yoohyeon?" Yubin asks.

"She says, she's gonna be late for a while" Gahyeon informs.

Minji fidgets her fingers as she was nervous on carrying on with the plan of Yoohyeon. But she knows this is for the both of them. For their peace.

The principal takes the microphone with a paper on his hand. This is the homecoming night and students are excited to know who wins as prom queen. It's the highlight of the night.

"Students! Tonight, we will witness the dance of the prom king and queen! This paper I hold is the results of the queen who will wear this crown" the principal holds the crown up high, shining so bright that it's every girl's dream to be crowned with those crystal around the circular metallic thing with a red ruby on the center that may represent the spotlight that once pointed at you while people are cheering and screaming your name.

"Let me call on Charlie Davis to come on stage for your crown as prom king" the principal announces.

Then a boy with gray suit wearing a smug grin in his face, running his hand through his hair. And not long after, he's on the pedestal of fame.

"Well, thank you for everyone who voted since it's mandatory to vote for me as the only candidate for prom king. I can't wait for Yoohyeon to be queen, I know you have voted for her" he ends his lackluster speech with a smirk on his face.

"Fuck you!" Bora yells but is unheard due to the loud music.

"And now the awaited result of the night, who's gonna be the prom queen tonight?" The principal asks the audience as they respond with Minji and Yoohyeon's name mostly. Poor Claire.

Unknowingly, Yoohyeon enters the gymnasium with her flower dress that perfectly matches her silver haired girl that runs down her shoulders. She stops by at the very back table of the vicinity and then there she sees Claire's widest smile at her.

"You know, Yoohyeon. I heard that guy you dated put pins on Minji's shoes during the dance show. He's evil. I hope you broke up with him y'know, cause you deserve so much better. Whoever wins tonight deserves it, but not with that piece of shit man" Claire says in disgust as she sees Charlie's face.

"You're an amazing girl, Claire. I hope you're unbothered by people's comments about you. You are as beautiful as you are" Yoohyeon responds.

"And thank you for the boost, Claire. Wait for an amazing show tonight" Yoohyeon smirks at her and pinches her cheeks.

"The prom queen for tonight is...." Handong crosses her fingers while closing her eyes, nervous.

"Kim..."

"Minji!" Gasps are heard all across the vicinity and Yoohyeon claps as hard as she can for her bestfriend.

"Bestfriend?" She whispers.

She sees Minji walking towards the stage with a look of an angel as her yellow dress shines the brightest and the crown just perfectly fits her beauty.

She smiles.

"I love this woman"

"I do" she says to herself.

Then Minji takes the mic, her words seems to be muffled. All her attention is how her lips curving upward and thinking how soft it is.

"Thank you, everyone!" That's what all she heard. She is admiring the beauty in front of her.

Then Charlie just takes her by the waist with a perverted smile in his face as the principal announces a dance.

She could not hear what he is talking about but she's sure it makes Minji annoyed, seeing how she creases her forehead and how she rolls her eyes at him. She definitely disgusts him.

She chuckles.

"I'm willing to dump Yoohyeon for you, Minji. I missed you so much, babe. And you're even more popular than her now. I love that" Charlie whispers.

"You're disgusting, you know that" Minji reverts back, rolling her eyes.

"Oh! Just say yes and it won't get messy here" Charlie threatens. Minji manages to scoff, thriving to get away from his hold.

Charlie leans in forward for a kiss as students cheers for them but only stops by a loud voice coming from the back.

"THAT CROWN IS MINE!!!"

Students gasps in shock, some whispers she's desperate, some whispers get your man and then there's her friends, giving her a knowing look for support despite the confusion on their faces.

The silver haired girl confidently struts her way among the crowds directly staring at Minji like she's the only person on stage.

She sees her mouthing her name: Yoohyeon.

She sets foot on stage and Charlie is quick to go besides her.

"Love, this is all for a show. Don't be jealous" he whispers, at the back Minji rolls her eyes at how he thinks this situation is all about him.

Yoohyeon ignores him and takes the mic. Clears her throat and thinks: this is nervewracking than I thought.

"Hello everyone! As you can see, I'm here in front" she stutters.

"But this crown is mine!" She confidently says as Charlie furrows his brows as he shields Minji from his girlfriend as the latter just rolls her eyes.

"Love... love!" He desperately wants her attention to him.

She lets out a small laugh: "I think I haven't made myself clear" she stares at Minji with a crown. So beautiful.

She pulls Minji to her side, pushing Charlie with her other hand.

"THIS CROWN IS MINE" the audience gasps as Yoohyeon playfully takes the crown on Minji's head.

She smirks.

"Perhaps this will clear up things" then another loud gasps from the audience is heard when they saw Yoohyeon cups Minji's face and pulls her into a heated kiss.

Charlie is taken aback from what just transpired as he walks away from the other two girls kissing in front of him.

And then unexpectedly, a bucket of green slime pours all over his branded suit as he screams like crying baby. Backstage, Siyeon and Bora with a rope on their hands hug each other for a success mission.

"Yes! Deserve!" Bora exclaims.

The audience laugh at Charlie's messy state as he walks out from the stage, pretty annoyed.

"Let's go, Minji. Away from here" Yoohyeon suggests and then the two girls happily run away from the crowd with a prize greater than the crown. Their love.

The audience cheer for them, screaming out their names. But as they are about to exit the place, they are stop by a furious Charlie.

"Yoohyeon, you can't do this! I'm your boyfriend!"

"Then I'm breaking up with you. I realized you only dated me for fame and you're willing to actually dump me for Minji. You cheating, selfish manipulative liar! Well, look, we are dating now." Yoohyeon laughs as she walks away from him only to be followed by him as he firmly grips her wrists.

"Not a chance, Charlie" a punch landed on him making him unconscious on the ground by a black haired girl, Minji.

"Uhm, you just knocked him out" Yoohyeon trails from her own words.

"He'll live. Let's go" Minji reassures and holds Yoohyeon's hand, staring at those eyes and flee from the place.

~
"That was so intense. So that's Yoohyeon's plan. To confess her love for Minji. That's just unexpected" Gahyeon says in shock.

"Totally unexpected" Bora responds. She thought all these years, her two friends were fighting over a guy but instead they are fighting over their feelings.

"Well, that was just an amazing portrayal of love" Siyeon states, staring at Bora's smll figure. A smile so lovely only directs to Bora's happy state.

"This is a great story!" Yubin exclaims.

~
'Bestfriends turned enemies and turned to real life couple. What an amazing plot twists of our high school life. We have witness how these two person bickers, hated, fighting with each other every single day. Now, probably those intense staring, the insults, and slamming against the walls were an invisible sign that they are really into each other.

The prom night is an amazing night for all of us, seniors but we cannot deny the fact that the highlight of the event was the confession of two person who secretly loves each other.

I can truly say, love prevails to those who is willing to wait. Patiently.'

Yoohyeon reads the school paper written and photos take by Yubin and Gahyeon respectively that's basically focuses on their love story.

Not only they have regain their friendship but also they have found true friendships along the way.

Hands wrap around her waist as she nuzzles her head to her neck.

"Yooh... I love you so much" Minji says, looking up at the mesmerising view that Yoohyeon holds.

"I love you too, Minji" she responds with a soft kiss landed on her lips.
