In which Alcina breaks your leg and it’s Incredibly Awkward

Summary:

It took a moment for you to realize that something was off. And then you really felt it. Hissing through your teeth, you raised yourself from the mattress to find the source of the pain. Upon your struggle, Alcina rolled off you, still panting.

You thought that surely your leg had caught fire from one of the candles somehow, but there were no flames. You went to rub at your bare thigh, but flinched away as touching it made it worse.

“What is it, darling?” Alcina asked, alarmed.

“It’s my leg… I think there’s something wrong with it,” you responded with a strained voice.

Work Text:

It took a moment for you to realize that something was off. And then you really felt it. Hissing through your teeth, you raised yourself from the mattress to find the source of the pain. Upon your struggle, Alcina rolled off you, still panting.

You thought that surely your leg had caught fire from one of the candles somehow, but there were no flames. You went to rub at your bare thigh, but flinched away as touching it made it worse.

“What is it, darling?” Alcina asked, alarmed.

“It’s my leg… I think there’s something wrong with it,” you responded with a strained voice.

The other woman immediately rose from the bed, as if making contact with you could break you further. She withdrew the curtains, and in the dim light you saw that the top of your thigh had dark purple bruises forming on it. And the pain. The pain was really just coming to you now, and it hurt like hell.

“Oh, God,” Alcina stammered. You turned to look at her. She looked like she was going to be sick.

“Really, it’s fine, it’s not that bad,” you rushed to speak, but then a wave of pain hit you and you grimaced, effectively falsifying your previous statement.

“I didn’t mean- I should have known better than to-“ she was beginning to look panicked, and you wanted to comfort her, but as you moved to get up, you realized that it only made the pain worse. The leg was starting to swell.

“Fuck, I think it’s broken,” you choked out. Alcina looked as though she wanted to say something else, but you cut her off: “It’s going to be fine, but I need a doctor.”

This seemed to shake Alcina from her panicked trance. “Of course, I’ll call someone over right away. You stay here, it’ll only take a little moment.”

“I don’t think I could go anywhere if I wanted to,” you said, grinning. You had meant it to lighten the mood, but judging by Alcina’s expression, it probably wasn’t helping.

“I’ll be right back,” she promised before hurriedly leaving the room.

Her leaving somehow made you more aware of the pain. Now that you had nobody to try to comfort, it felt less bearable and you sunk your head back into the soft mattress, holding the sheets in your fists as you had been doing just a moment before. You tried closing your eyes, but the darkness that engulfed you only made it worse. You opened your eyes back up and tried to breathe.

You had broken your leg while fucking. It would have been hilarious if it didn’t hurt so much.

As she had promised, Alcina came back soon.

“I called in a doctor from the village. He will be here promptly, just please hold on until then,” she said, holding your hand in hers.

You chuckled. “You make it sound like I’m dying.”

But as you gazed into her worried, glistening eyes, and the grip on your hand tightened, you realized that it hadn’t been the right thing to say.

“I should have never gotten so carried away with my desires,” she spoke quietly. “I knew you wanted this, but I should have refused-“

“I think we both got carried away,” you said, but she shook her head.

“I’m the one with the strength to crush you. I should be the one to know better. How could I ever make this up to you?”

You looked up into her eyes. You could have stared into them endlessly, but the sadness and guilt in them made you feel terrible. Then you smiled.

“Holding my hand certainly helps,” you whispered. Her lips curved upwards just a little.

“But also, do you think you could maybe… clean me up a little bit? Before the doctor comes?”

Alcina’s eyes darted down your body, and saw what you had already felt. Both of yours juices were sticking to your legs and stomach. You cleared your throat.

“Of course, darling,” Alcina responded, as she gave your hand a reassuring squeeze and went to fetch a rag from the bathroom. She carefully wiped the slick off your legs, your stomach, and in between your legs, making you twitch.

“Do you think you could put on some clothes?” she asked. You tried sitting up but then shook your head as the pain pierced through you at the slightest movement. The bigger woman whispered into your ear reassuringly. You couldn’t tell what she was saying, but it comforted you regardless. She had to kneel on the floor just to get on your level.

“The doctor should be here any minute now,” she said, pulling her dress back on but not bothering to fix her makeup. “I’ll go fetch him myself, I will be right back with him.” You nodded lazily, the pain having subsided into a dull ache. She pet your hair before leaving the room.

As promised, she soon returned with a strange man. You suddenly felt self-conscious about how exposed you were. You could have at least tried putting on a shirt, couldn’t you? But it was too late to worry about that now. The doctor’s eyes darted over your body, and widened ever so slightly as he took in the scene before him. But then he quickly got to work, feeling the bruises on your leg. You bit at your tongue as the pain returned.

“Careful,” Alcina spoke, but you reached for her hand and squeezed. “It’s alright.”

It probably didn’t take a genius to realize what had happened to you. Which is why you so appreciated that the doctor worked quietly, fixated on his task, only occasionally murmuring something about the state of your leg.

“Mother,” you heard from outside the room. You snapped your eyes open, Alcina looked as though she was about to answer something, but the door had already swung open and all three of the daughters buzzed inside. The doctor’s hands stiffened for a moment before he continued to look over your injury.

“What’s this man doing in here?” Cassandra asked, but her voice trailed off at the end of the question as her eyes swept across the scene. As did her sisters’.

“Well shit,” you said.

“Fucking ew,” said Daniela.

“Language,” said Alcina.

“I’m going to pretend I didn’t see this,” said Bela, before she and her sisters made a quick depart. They forgot to close the door behind them, and a cool breeze snuck its way into the room and onto your bare skin. Alcina sighed and went to shut the door, right as the doctor’s hands put pressure onto your thigh and you shouted in pain.

“My apologies,” the doctor spoke quickly, as if fearing that he might find a claw in his skull if he doesn’t immediately apologize. “The bones seem to be in place, so really all you will need is a cast and plenty of time to rest.”

“Thank god,” you sighed.

“So she’ll be alright then?” Alcina asked, clearly trying to upkeep a regal composure as usual, though the worry came through in her voice.

“In a few weeks’ time, yes,” the doctor said.

Turns out he already had the means to set your leg with him. Alcina held onto your hand tightly as a splint was wrapped onto your thigh. The doctor departed from the castle for a while to fetch crutches of your size, handed you some pain medication and then begun to take his leave, seeming glad that his head was still attached to his shoulders.

“And remember, no strenuous activity as the leg recovers,” he said at the door. Alcina narrowed her eyes at him. He cleared his throat and left the room, leaving the two of you by yourselves. She pulled a blanket up to cover your still naked body.

“I am so sorry,” she spoke, but you shook your head.

“You apologize too much. It was an accident, and I’m going to recover. I guess we’ll just have to be more careful later on.”

Alcina sighed before lowering herself next to you. You snuggled close to her.

“No strenuous activity,” the bigger woman reminded. You laughed into her neck.
