Your Eyes Tell

Summary:

You've been having some strange dreams about a mysterious man since you were a little girl. And you find yourself intrigued and wanting to know more. All your questions fade away after a visit to a new bookstore that had just opened nearby; one which contains all the answers and more...

Notes:

As you can see, this was inspired by JK's song: Your Eyes Tell (i even included a quote of the song because i had too lol). This is like a "Will you promise me?" but with roles reversed lol.

Also, some terms are based of spirituality but the meanings I wrote with them are just made up by me (just clearing that up). They may contain some truth to them but the majority are just things that I made up.

This was also waaay longer than I expected(need to practice on making them shorter lol). But still, hope you like it, I'm not that satisfied with this one but I did get better at writing at least.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Fear. Fear couldn’t even begin to describe what Jungkook felt in that precise moment. His lungs had gone short on air; his skin had grown a thick coat of sweat; his chest felt all tied up, and his limbs were now in control by fear. Horror? Was that the correct word to use?

The devil… the literal devil stood in front of him. The god of the underworld himself: Lucifer. And he was about to do what he loved to do the most since he was banished from heaven: making pacts. Jungkook didn’t expect what he was about to say next, since all he awaited was his dead right there at that exact moment. All his mind could process was the thought of him being devoured by Lucifer himself or just tortured until a dreadful death just for the fun of it. He already knew about the god of the underworld’s malicious deeds. He was very popular among humans after all with his such “selfless” pacts he had to offer. Jungkook had never understood why people fell for his idiotic/dangerous proposals. Desperation was a word that never touched Jungkook’s dictionary. For that reason, he promised himself to never make a pact with the devil even if he was in his lowest point of life. But… was that actually true?

With a smile that hided hypocrisy, the god spoke. “If you wish to seek your child, become my servant. And then you shall find her again.”

And that’s all that it took. That’s all that it took for him to accept his offer. It was all now sealed with just a few words spoken by him. Jungkook was disgusted at himself by not honoring the words he once expressed. But, after all, it’s never the same to say as to do. Now he knew how it felt to be in the shoes of the people he used to call “desperate”.

“So you are saying you dreamt about him again?”

“Yes. It was the same dream as always.” I responded.

“The one with the Tiger Lilies?”

“Yes.”

My best friend and I were currently in our favorite café celebrating her 24th birthday with a few cups of coffee and glazed donuts. We had agreed a few weeks ago to do so since we were both excited for the event and were always looking for new excuses to just visit this place we called our spot. And after we were done here, we were going to go to the new bookstore that had just opened in one of the main streets to buy some fresh new books to read together at home.

“Did you get to see his face this time?” She asked, casually taking a bite of her donut.

“No, just his eyes… as always.” I sighed, resting my chin on my right hand while taking a sip of my cappuccino.

“Sometimes I just really want to smack that guy out of your dreams.” She said, making me chuckle lightly. “But hey, at least you are seeing more details than before. I remember the only things you used to see was his back, the tiger lilies and the ocean.”

“That I agree with.” I nodded.

“I also remember you talking constantly of his butt.”

“Let’s not go there again, please.” I interrupted.

“And his thighs-“

“Lixia…” I glared.

“Ok! Ok! Ill shut up.” She giggled with a playful smirk, making my eyes roll. But at the end, making me smile as always.

My dreams were always a topic of discussion during our conversations, there was no doubt about it. She is the only one I can tell, after all. I used to tell my parents, but they just stared at me with confounded eyes and in disbelief. They thought my dreams were just something made up to gain their attention, but that wasn’t the case. This dreams of mine had been occurring since I was five years old. Which was the year I met Lixia, my current best friend whom I consider a sister. I was five and she was seven when we met. Her parents had moved to the house next to mine, so even though we didn’t see each other at school, we still saw each other every day. We became close pretty fast and it was like a connection meant to be.

Lately the dreams had become more real and detailed. And after years, I finally got to see his eyes which was a big improvement. But, still, it wasn’t enough. I just wanted to know who he was and what he meant to me. And I was hoping it was soon enough.

“By the way, how is your mom doing with the breakup thing?” I asked, taking another sip from my cup.

“I think she is doing pretty good... I think better than I expected, actually.”

“Woah, that’s definitely unexpected. I thought she was going to close herself up again, like she always did after a heated fight with your dad.”

“For me it isn’t that much of a surprise.”

I tilted my head out of curiosity. “Why is that?”

“I don’t actually know for sure but... it’s just that as time went by, my mom grew more and more unhappy every time she was with him; even in the happy moments... there was just something there lingering in her mind constantly that I couldn’t understand or decipher.” She responded, eyebrows furrowed, expressing both frustration and worry.

“Have you tried talking to her?”

“Not yet; I never had the courage to do so. But I will eventually; I have to.” She answered, taking in the last bite of her donut.

I nodded in agreement. “Just know that if you need help, I’m here.” I smiled, making her mirror my gesture.

“What about your dad? Is he respecting the restraining order?” She added, hiding her mouth with her hand while chewing to not be disrespectful.

“Yes, he is; thank god. Finally he is no longer a pain in the ass.” I responded, rolling my eyes of annoyance but also relief. “My mom was becoming seriously depressed thanks to him; I was becoming really worried. But thankfully, after so many years, I finally convinced her into going to the police. Because even though he never physically hurt her, he was mentally destroying her.”

“I’m really happy to hear that.” She said with a pleased sincere smile.

“Funny how we are both now fatherless.” She added, causing us both to snort out a laugh in the silent café; earning us a few glares from other customers who only wanted some peace and quiet.

“We really were meant to be.” I said, letting out another chuckle.

We were both now walking into the direction of the new bookstore we were so excited to visit. Thankfully, the café wasn’t that far away from the bookstore so we just decided to walk to it instead of having to move the car all over again and lose our parking spot.

The path was already crowded with people who were just passing by. And with the customers who were coming in and out of the bookstore, didn’t help one bit. But we still managed to get through. It was expected to be crowded; it is a new bookstore, after all.

As we kept on getting closer to the entrance of the bookstore, I suddenly felt my heartbeat’s pace accelerate and my chest tightened. I stopped walking for a second, placing my hand on my chest, trying to calm myself with deep breaths from the abrupt anxious feeling who’s cause was unknown. Lixia stopped in her tracks too.

With a worried expression, she asked. “(Y/n), are you ok?”

“Yeah, I’m fine. Just a little bit too excited, I think.” I softly chuckled, trying not to make her worry. Even though I was worried as well.

“Are you sure? This has never happened to you before.”

“Yes, I’m sure. If not, well we can always blame the coffee.”  I answered, making her slightly smile but quickly turning back to her worried expression. “You can go ahead without me if you want.”

“Don’t be fucking stupid; I am not leaving you. Not until I see you stable enough.”

“Dude, it’s no big deal; I’m going to be ok. It may just be a panic attack or something.”

She raised an eyebrow, clearly annoyed. “That doesn’t make it any less worrying, you know?”

“Don’t be such a dumbass thinking I would leave by best friend behind while she might be dying.” She added.

“I’m not dying for god’s sake; don’t be so dramatic.” I said as I playfully rolled my eyes at her, but quickly regretting my words as my head began to pulsate from pain, making me squint my eyes.

“Yeah, I’m not risking any chances. You are the only person in my family who hasn’t gone ‘reckless mode’ and who understands me.”

“Well that, that I cannot argue about.” I nodded my head knowingly.

“Want to go in? Maybe you’ll feel better when you go in and see the place.” She gave me a reassuring smile. “If it gets worst, we’ll just leave this for another day; thankfully there is a hospital nearby.”

“I really don’t want to leave this for another day; I’m too excited to do so. So let’s just go in before anything else happens to me; at least I’ll die happy.”

“Don’t even joke about of that.” She glared, taking my arm in hers and leading me to the inside of the bookstore. I chuckled, knowing that probably if I died first, she would most definitely come with me to not have to deal with collage or her parent’s issues alone… or just life in general.

My heartbeat had indeed calmed down a bit. But as soon as the doors closed behind us, it all just went back to the beginning. I kept trying to relax my anxious body by scanning the library; noticing its every detail and new furniture; using grounding techniques I was taught during my worst days. But even so, every time I managed to calm it down a bit, the same command kept altering my body.

“Search for the memories.” It said.

I hadn’t notice at first, but once I started listening to my thoughts in search of the source of my unease, the same phrase kept popping into my head. I didn’t understand why, nor the reason behind it; to be honest, I was completely lost; this were all unknown feelings to me. But all I know is that it had already taken over my body and my legs were no longer under my command. My arm, which was embraced with Lixia’s, left hers and my feet began walking towards the direction of a bookshelf who’s location was separated from the other ones. I could hear Lixia trying to grab my attention in the distance, but all I managed to understand was the voice inside of my head telling me to search for something that was already mine... something that contained the truth.

The bookshelf wasn’t too far away but you could see it contained the books who were not that popular amongst the people and who were cast aside just by its cover or its simplicity. You could say it was the bookshelf of neglected stories for whatever the reason was. But I’ll be honest... sometimes those were the ones who contained the best stories from all of the books in the library. You might be surprised by what you find. I had to learn that the hard way when I lost a bet to Lixia and had to buy one of the books from the “neglected bookshelf” as punishment.

Once I arrived in front of the bookshelf, my fingers began scanning each book; tracing their exposed corners as I let this strange feeling guide me. I kept following the voice until my fingers just stopped.

“There you are.” I whispered to myself as I took the chosen book out.

My eyes stared at it for a while. I tilted my head from curiosity as my fingers traced the golden carved letters on the front.

“JK...” I read out loud.

The book was simple... too simple to be exact. It was entirely black, was made of leather and only had written those two letters on the front cover. It looked more like a journal than a novel. But who would make such thing? Simple books rarely get bought just because of the cover. And seeing how simple this one is... I can only imagine the failure this must’ve been and the pain this person had to endure because of it. For that reason, I felt happy I had found such book; maybe it was a masterpiece in disguise.  I was indeed guided to it for a reason. And after all... it contains the truth.

“The truth... “ I whispered to myself. “Of what?” My eyebrows furrowed.

Open it. The voice said.

I usually waited until I got home to examine and read the book more carefully at my own pace. But this… this wasn’t me anymore; this was somebody else whose presence I didn’t recognize.

As expected by my needs, the book was opened. But only disheartening blankness was shown to my eyes. No letters, no ink, no story… just absolute emptiness.

“Seriously… what kind of book is this? I don’t think it should even be called a book.” I whispered. “Maybe it was just misplaced. I’ll just go and put it back where it belongs.”

But as I turned around to look for its place of origin, everything had just… stopped;  stillness was now my only accompanist, making my eyes tremble from terror. I quickly scanned and checked every single form in that room hoping for a signal of movement, including Lixia’s approaching enthusiastic one who was just about to show me a book she had found, but nothing… nothing moved. My eyes then darted to the outside windows used for display… and every person… every car… every tree… every animal… were indeed too, frozen. It’s as if life had been put on hold and I was the only one who had been forgotten.

My body had grown cold and I felt like my feet were walking on air. I grabbed on to a nearby chair to prevent myself from falling and at the same time sat down. I placed the palm of my hand on my forehead and closed my eyes for a second to regain my composure. I took a slow deep breath and exhaled.

“It’s going to be ok (y/n), this might just be a dream. Maybe I’m lucid dreaming and I haven’t realized yet. Let me just…”

I reopened my eyes and tried doing a reality check by putting the index finger of one hand on the center of the other hand’s palm, but it didn’t go through.

“SHIT! I’m really fucked, am I?!” I yelled, voice breaking in the process, feeling the lightheadedness resurface.

I few seconds went by as I tried to think of a plan or solution; wishing I had never picked up that book or entered here in the first place.

“Go through the door.” The voice reappeared.

“What?” I asked as I lifted up my gaze. And as soon as I did, my body jumped with a gasp from the sudden apparition in front of me.

A wooden door now stood in front of me. I slowly got up and took a few steps closer to it; hesitant on getting close to it or even touch it since I didn’t know what was going to come out from there or where it could lead me. And my anxiety wasn’t doing any good by making up scenarios in my head. I went around it, to see if there was something behind it, but there wasn’t; it was just the wooden door standing with no support whatsoever, waiting to be opened.

I had so many questions, but there was no point in hesitating or trying to answer them. I couldn’t do much in this situation and the only solution was to follow the voice’s instructions.

I grabbed the golden handle and twisted it until open and pushed the door slowly. And as I did, I felt a warm ray of light accompanied by a soft but noticeable breeze touch my hand. I gasped and released the handle immediately, backing up slightly from the door.

“It’s ok.” I heard, causing my shoulders to relax a bit.

I decided to give it another try and to trust the guidance I was receiving… not like I had another option. I grabbed the handle once again, closed my eyes and with a deep breath, I pushed the door wide open, this time without hesitation. The refreshing breeze was quick to befriend me, playing with strands of my hair and my clothing’s fabric. I didn’t dare open my eyes, but I could see and feel the sun’s warm rays of lights cover my body in a white cloth. In the distant, I could hear the sound of ocean waves and talkative seagulls pass by. The environment overall seemed kind and approachable. But I was still scared of what could my eyes encounter once opened.

“Open your eyes. You are safe.”

My firmly closed eyes began to soften to the voice’s commands slowly but surely; and so the eyelids began to rise and feet began to walk. Guided by trust and faith, my feet now stood on a mountain top coated by gentle swaying grass, whose height wasn’t too tall or too low; it was indeed the perfect height to admire the tranquil ocean ahead. To my left, an oak tree stood, in which roots were covered in beautiful orange tiger lilies blessed with the bright sun. Under the tree’s partial shade, a wide blanket rested whose wrinkles indicated that it had been used to rest. But despise the beauty that surrounded me and my many doubts, my eyes had given all their attention to the man who had been standing only a few meters away from me, with only his back being shown.

“It’s him.” I whispered to myself, feeling nostalgia gathering up in my throat and eyes.

A single drop rolled down my cheek, making me aware that I was crying. I collected the tear drop with my fingertips and stared at the watery substance, asking myself why was this stranger making me cry. My eyes darted back to the unknown man, and decided to come closer; my heart aching to finally see him fully.

“Jungkookie, Jungkookie! Look!” I heard a woman’s voice shout from behind, causing me to jump with a loud gasp and quickly turn around in fear. The woman whose physical appearance seemed familiar, was now coming straight towards me. I was going to move to the side, but it was too late to do so. So I just closed my eyes waiting for the impact… but the impact never came. I opened my eyes once again, and turned back around. She was now standing next to the man, trying to grab his attention by showing him what she had in her cupped hands.

“Look what I found!” she exclaimed with an eager smile and star in her eyes.

I finally got to take a good glance at her and examine every feature. But when my mind took a grasp of whose identity was… that’s when a sudden wave of coldness hit me.

With a shaky breath, I spoke. “Oh my god… that’s me.”

My entire body had been submerged in what seemed like a bucket of iced water. And my body was waiting for my command to do what it wanted to do the most: escape. I began to back away slowly, unsure of what to do. But as I grew more fond with the idea of escaping, he turned to face her. And all of my fear, worries, doubts… just went away with one look. I had finally gotten to see the face of the man whose presence visited me almost every night in my dreams since I was a little girl; whom eyes were so foreign to my sight, but so familiar to my heart. I finally felt at home and whole again.

I took a few steps closer to hear more clearly what was happening and, of course, to admire his beauty who still had me perplexed.

“Sorry, angel. It’s just that the ocean seems so serene today.” He said with a contented smile, taking a quick last glance to the ocean and returning his attention to her. “My attention is all yours now. So what you got there, beautiful?”

“I found a tiny little frog, look at it! It’s so adorable.” She exclaimed with excitement, opening her cupped hands to show the cause of her current euphoria. “I think it is called a ‘Coquí’; I had read it was native to this country. And it is actually rare to see one during the day so it makes me even more happy to have found one.”

“That little guy truly is adorable.” He grinned as he examined the tiny creature. “Let me hold it.” The man said with intrigue, gesturing her to give him the amphibian and so she did.

“And wait until you hear him sing; the reason why his name is ‘Coquí’, it’s because that’s what you hear him say when he sings during the night. Isn’t it marvelous?” She said with fascinated eyes who couldn’t stay away from the small creature.

“It is, my sun.” he responded; eyes now more captivated by her form of expression whom he found so addicting and beautiful.

His hands lowered to the ground to place the creature back to his natural habitat. But before he did, she protested. “What are you doing?”

“Umm… putting him down where he is supposed to be…?” he responded, sounding more like a question than an answer.

“But I want to keep it.” she said pouting.

“Aruna… we’ve talked about this before.”

Aruna… I thought to myself. But that isn’t my name.

Doubts began to resurface, but I kept on listening in hopes of finding answers.

“I know but-“

“You can’t take animals from Earth to heaven. You’ll be indirectly killing them and that is not even your job.” He interrupted, finally placing the creature on the ground despising her protests.

Did I just hear the word heaven? My eyebrows furrowed, not believing my ears.

She sighed; her expression saddening. “I know.”

“I don’t understand why you get sad.” He said, softly cupping her cheeks with both hands, caressing her skin with his thumbs. “You already have a pet back in heaven. Remember the dog’s deceased spirit you took without permission? The one who you found too cute to let it reincarnate back in Earth and somehow convinced Lord Namjoon to let you keep it?” he asked with a raised eyebrow.

She chuckled nervously, getting reminded of her misbehavior. “Yeees ~” She smiled naughtily.

“Isn’t that enough for you?” he asked, shaking his head from amusement.

“Nop.” She simply responded, making him lightly chuckle.

“I think I need to have a talk with Lord Namjoon to have you switch jobs with Archangel Ariel.”

She giggled. “I love nature, don’t get me wrong. But being an archangel is a big responsibility. I’ll rather stay as a guardian angel; it is simpler and more fun. You know how great it is to help people just have fun in life and help them be free from illogical barriers?”

“A lot?” He pretended to guess.

“Yes, a lot.”

A guardian angel?! Did I really get transported to another dimension because of book or did I just eat weed for breakfast and didn’t notice?

But even though I was having trouble believing this whole thing, deep down I knew this was based on true events. If it hadn’t been real, I wouldn’t have had all those dreams that I had constantly throughout my life. And the way my heart was reacting to my surroundings, was more than enough prove.

“In all honesty, luck was on my side the day you were chosen as a guardian angel; I always wanted one since I was little.” His thumb caressed her lower lip; eyes only focusing on where he touched. “Who would’ve thought, right?” He slightly smirked, voice becoming raspy as his lips lowered to hers. “That the love of my life would be my long-awaited angel.” He spoke, his breath warming her lips.

“Sorry to break it to you, but I only protect who I choose or am assigned to.” She said, pushing both of his hands and face away with a playful smirk.

He sighed. “But sometimes… sometimes I think you are a demon in disguise, I swear.” He said, slightly annoyed. “I wanted to kiss you and you decided to ruin the moment.”

“And I personally think you are more like an angel than a demon. You feel too much to be a demon.” She said as she turned her focus to the ocean with a devilish smirk.

A… d-d-demon? He is a demon?!

“I was human... just because I got turned into a demon doesn’t mean I don’t feel anymore.”

“Ah yes, an empathic human heart in a now demon’s body… Sorry, I wasn’t a very good student back at home. I was always studying Earth instead of studying what I was supposed to; got scolded every damn time by Namjoon.”

Jungkook chuckled. “How ironic, an angel knowing more about planet Earth than her own realm.” He said with a teasing grin.

“Don’t mock me, you idiot.” She said, playfully hitting him with her shoulder. “I just love Earth. I love it’s people and nature. And I’m truly devoted to the idea of caring for them and guiding them for eternity.”

The man anxiously began to bite his lower lip, debating on whether if he should speak his mind or not. But at the end, he decided it was best to do so. It was now or never.

“Would you do the same for me? Would you love me just as much?” He asked, now staring at her with hopes of her reciprocating his love for her; fear of rejection lingering in his mind.

“Jungkook…” Aruna spoke, turning to face him, placing her palm on his cheek and smiling as she noticed his cute nervous pout. “I already do. The love I feel for you, it’s different from any other type of love I’ve felt. I’ll do anything to stay by your side through every moment of my existence. The Earth does indeed possess my love and light, but you… you possess my body, my soul and my heart; you possess me completely, Jungkook.”

Jungkook’s lips quickly connected with the angel’s ones, kissing her with such determination and passion to let her know how much he loved and needed her without saying words. From her cotton lips, his mouth moved to her jawline, leaving wet kisses all over; earning a shaky breath from the angel. Jungkook could already feel his greedy body, wishing to demonstrate more. Effortlessly, he picked her up placing both of her legs around his torso, carrying her into the direction of the oak tree. His explicit kiss never left her lips until he delicately placed her on the blanket laid on the ground.

He gave her one last but gentle kiss, resting his forehead on hers, and spoke. “Why couldn’t you be my guardian angel back then? You would’ve saved me from so much.”

“Just… wasn’t meant to be back then. The universe is the only one who knows when is right to do so and if it’s needed. But, if I had been given the opportunity back then… I would’ve even chosen to serve you as a human.”

Jungkook understood what she was implying with those words. He knew how much value they held, for he knew the conditions that came with choosing that path. He had finally understood what it meant to be loved unconditionally and to love without fear. And secretly, he was thankful to the universe for making him go through the things he did. Otherwise, he wouldn’t have met her and wouldn’t have understood why unconditional love must be treasured once found.

“Let me make love to you, can I?” He asked her with pleading eyes, desperately wanting to hear the magic word so he could finally fulfill his wish to take her as a whole.

She nodded in agreement, barely been able to speak as he rubbed his hardened member on her core; fingers digging in deep on her hips from neediness.

Why am I feeling like this? I asked to myself as I caught my body responding to every word and touch that man did. My body had slowly increased its heat. And in the back of my mind, the thought of being her in that moment lingered in my mind. I swear I could almost feel his touch on my body. It was like something was being awakened inside of my mind, but still couldn’t understand it.

This is all so… familiar but so strange at the same time.

I didn’t know what I was going to do with all of this information that was just given to me, but one thing was for sure and that was that I had seen enough, and it was time for me to leave this memory before I did something I was going to regret later. I gave him one last look, memorizing his features, and turned around; exiting through the door as I closed it behind me.

As I placed the last foot back inside the library, Lixia’s face was the first to greet me, making me jump with a loud gasp.

“There you are!” She exclaimed. “I thought I had went invisible for a second when you just left my side without saying anything in return. I’m guessing you are back to normal since you literally ignored me for books.” She scoffed. “But not going to judge since I also do that sometimes.”

Seeing Lixia finally moving and responding, made me rescan the room to make sure my eyes were seeing correctly. And as hoped, everything had gone back to normal. Life had resumed again its duty.

I let out a deep sigh of relief; tension finally leaving my shoulders.

“(Y/n), are you ok?” Lixia asked concerned. “Don’t tell me the symptoms are coming back. In that case let’s just go to the hospital.”

“No, no. I- I’m fine. Just relieved that I’m fine again that’s is all.” I said, shaking my head.

“You sure?”

“Yes. I’m sure, trust me.” I said with a soft smile as I tried to push aside my current over-active mind who couldn’t stop making theories about what it had just saw.

“In that case… look what I found!” She exclaimed excitedly, placing the book in front of my face, causing me to back away a bit. “I found the complete Hush Hush saga in here! And the price it’s way better than the other stores we went to.”

“Well that’s surprising; usually they are overpriced.” I said, staring at the price label. “I think we just found the crème de la crème of bookstores.”

“For sure.” She nodded in agreement.

“So what did you find so appealing, to the point where you left me stranded, back there?”

“Oh…yes.” I said, remembering what had started it all.

My eyes drifted to the table I had used earlier. And as expected, the book was still there just as I left it. It was still nerve-wreaking to know that all this had just happened in a matter of minutes; it was not a dream but a reality. It was both nerve-wreaking but pleasant… pleasant because for the first time, I had seen my dreams come to reality. And I had finally seen him. But mostly nerve-wreaking due to the fact that I was just transported to another freaking dimension by a book and saw the entire world stop in time for a moment.

I went to the table and picked the book up. “I found this.” I said as I showed it to her.

“(Y/n)… are you serious? You left me for that?” She retorted.

I shrugged, giggling at her reaction.

She sighed. “Can you at least tell me what it is about?” she asked, defeated.

“I’ll tell you when I read it. I still haven’t opened it or checked its preview.” I lied.

“You could just check it now.” She said grabbing the book off my hands.

“No!” I exclaimed, grabbing it back, making her slightly flinch. “I just want it to be a surprise, you know.” I chuckled nervously.

She sighed. “This is the first time I hear you say that, but ok; I respect your decision.”

“Thank you.” I smiled, relieved.

“Can we go now?” I added.

“Now? But we just got here. Why leave so sudden?”

“I just- I just received a text from my next door neighbor, Taehyung, telling me that someone had been asking for me and- and I feel like I need to g-go and check in case is Jimin.”

She stared at my face for a few seconds with a blank expression. I could already tell she didn’t believe me.

“You really suck at lying, you know that, right?”

I sighed out of frustration. “Lixia, I just want to leave. I just…” I drifted my gaze to the floor, trying to hide the forming tears. But failing... she is my best friend after all.

“It’s ok.” She said, placing her hands on my shoulders wanting to comfort me. “You don’t have to explain it to me now if you don’t want to. But please don’t forget that I’m here for you. I want to be there for you as much as you are there for me. Don’t try to always be the strong one, please.” She said, as her arms pulled me into an embrace.

“Thank you, Lixia. You truly are something else.” I said, returning the embrace.

“But just remember you have to explain to me eventually. You know I don’t like cliffhangers.” She said, making me giggle. “And also because I’m  legitimately worried.”

“I will; just not now.” I assured.

All of this was too much to explain right now, even to myself. Part of me believed it, the other part still couldn’t comprehend the situation. I was conflicted and still in shock. Right now, wasn’t the time to give answers or explanations, but rather to search for them.

Lixia sighed, as her hands unfolded from my figure. “Today seriously wasn’t as I expected it to be.” She said, placing the palm of her hand on her forehead with a frustrated look. “But not even one million books are worth more than my best friend. So just by seeing you stable and healthy enough, makes my day.”

“Aaaawww ~” I pouted, with a soft smile.

“Yeah, yeah... just don’t over-sweeten this; you know i don’t like cheesy stuff.”

“Says the girl who has a whole bookshelf covered in romance novels.” I scoffed.

That... That is an exception.” She reclaimed, making me chuckle from her irony. “Anyways... today wasn’t as productive, but as we always say: there is always tomorrow.” Lixia squealed from excitement. “That’s if you wake up feeling well enough, of course.”

“Yeah... about that...” I paused, giving an apologetic look. “Tomorrow I have a date with Jimin.”

“Again?! My god! I can’t imagine when you two officially become a couple. Im going to lose my best friend for sure.” She said, placing two fingers on the bridge of her nose.

“Oh please, we’ve only gone on two dates so far. You are just being jealous.” I laughed.

“Whatever... let’s just buy the books and leave so we can go home.” She said, rolling her eyes in defeat as she walked off, causing me to laugh even harder from her confirmed jealousness.

I followed behind until we arrived at the front cashier. Lixia went first and payed her books, taking more time than the usual since she found the cashier cute. After he finished with her, it was my turn.

I gave him the book and while he searched for the barcode, I asked. “Are there any books here related to angels or demons by any chance?”

“Yeah, on the last bookshelf to the left.” He said as he kept giving the book strange looks.

“Since when are you interested in demons and angels?” Lixia asked surprised.

“U-um w-well, Jimin told me this crazy stories-“

“Miss.” The cashier interrupted, gaining both of our attentions.

“Yes...?” I quickly responded; thankful that he interrupted at that exact moment so I didn’t have to give more fake excuses.

“Sorry to interrupt, but, can I ask where did you find this...” he paused for a moment, staring at it again. “Book...?” He asked, just as confused as I was.

“It was in one of the corner bookshelves, why?”

“This book doesn’t have a barcode or price label... anywhere.” He said, as he placed the book on the counter between us, still confused.

“So what you are saying is.... you have free books lying around here?!” Lixia asked excitedly, doing small hops in one place.

“Lixia, I don’t think-“

“Seriously, you guys are the crème de la crème of bookstores!” Lixia interrupted. “(Y/n), be right back; need to find the free books!”

“Lixia, wait!” But before I could protest any further, she was already sprinting towards the bookshelves, getting lost between them.

I sighed, returning my gaze to the cashier. “Sorry about that. I’m conscious that you guys don’t actually sell free books here... or in any other place, that’s for sure.”

He lightly chuckled. “Don’t worry. This was  probably just someone wanting to troll with us.”

“Yeah... maybe.” I returned the smile with doubt hidden in it, knowing this wasn’t just “anybody”.

“So can I take it?” I added.

“Yeah; sure; it’s not ours, after all.” He replied.

“Thanks- umm...” i paused, looking for his name tag, but the letters were too small for me to read.

“San... Choi San.” He added, noticing what I was trying to do.

“Oh! Haha. Well, thanks Choi San. Going to look for my friend now.” I replied, picking up the book meanwhile and placing it inside my bag.

“You can call me San... and I’m hoping to see you back here again.” He winked with a smirk, eyes momentarily scanning my body and going back to my face.

I nodded, blushing like a maniac, and turned around quickly to go look for Lixia.

Was he actually flirting with me? I thought to myself, but decided to just let it pass. He probably does this with other girls who come here too.

While searching for Lixia, I also got distracted myself, funnily enough. I had found the bookshelf with the supernatural genre in the process; which was a chance I wasn’t going to let pass by. And since there were so many books and shelfs, it took me more time than I thought it would.

Guess we are not leaving yet. I thought to myself.

I just couldn’t find the area where the topic about angels/demon resided. And I really didn’t want to leave without the books. Like I said, I want to understand and I want to know the answers. If I don’t find this books now, I don’t think I’m going to be able to sleep tonight unless I drink an entire bottle of melatonin... because for sure, the usual dose isn’t going to help that much with the current situation I’m in.

“Now, where are you guys hiding at?” I mumbled to myself as I searched in the shelfs.

“The books about angels are in the bottom right corner, beautiful. But I suggest you pick the ones written by Min Yoongi since they are the only ones that are actually accurate.” I man’s voice spoke from behind, making me turn around. I was going to thank him eye to eye, but he was facing the opposite bookshelf with a black hoodie; the hood covering his head. Regardless, I was still going to thank him.

“Oh! Thanks!” I said as I triumphantly went to that area and searched for the author Min Yoongi, as the man said. Finally, I had found what I was searching for and I couldn’t be more happier. And even got a recommendation which was even more perfect.

“Found it!” I said as I picked the book and opened it, scanning it briefly. “Thank you so much, this made my search so much easier.” I said, mesmerized with a picture I had just found in one of the pages.

“You’re welcome, my sun.” The man spoke.

My eyes grew wide; the book disappearing from my current line of thoughts. My body had, once again, grown cold as I asked myself something I should’ve asked myself from the first sentence that man spoke.

How... how did he know I was searching for this? And...

“... his voice.” I whispered to myself.

I’ve heard it before.

My mind went back to the memory, replaying the words the demon once spoke: “...my sun”. Those specific words... were one of the things from that memory that made my heart react to the most. It was, with no doubt, him. But I wanted to see it with my own eyes. I still hadn’t turned around. But I could still feel his presence still there. I closed the book and turned around without any hesitation.

To my surprise, he was already facing my way, as if he had been waiting for me to do the same. Our eyes connected immediately, speaking for each other.

The way he was looking at me... it felt as he had found his most wanted treasure. And judging by the way his body was acting, I could also tell that he hadn’t been prepared for the feelings he was experiencing and trying to hold. I, on the other hand, couldn’t bring myself to speak. My eyes still couldn’t believe what they were seeing, and my heart... my heart only wanted to kiss him. Only stars could be seen in our eyes at that moment; stars that spoke a million words.

“And... of course... if you want to learn about demons, I will gladly accept to help you.” He broke the silence.

“We finally meet, (y/n). My name is Jeon Jungkook, but you can also call me JK.” He added with a soft smile, extending his hand for me to shake it.

My gaze went from his hand extended to me, to back to his eyes. I didn’t know what to do in that moment. It’s incredible how I waited years for this, but still wasn’t ready. Plus knowing the backstory to all of this... which I still didn’t understand... made it even more overwhelming. This was all just too much for me in just one day. I still hadn’t calmed myself completely from what I had just witnessed with that book I touched, and now this... him, himself appearing before my own two eyes... it’s too much. I, indeed, wanted to talk to him and ask so many things, but... I needed time to process everything first, alone. And I also needed the time to understand from where I actually came from. Because at this point, I didn’t know who I was anymore.

“I-I- I am sorry; I need to go now.” I stuttered nervously, taking the book with me and walking away to find Lixia and finally leave this place. But before I could escape from his sight...

“(Y/n), you know you can’t run away from me; I already found you.” He calmly said, making me stop on my tracks for a moment, but even so, I continued walking, ignoring his last statement. I needed time, and that was a fact.

He didn’t follow me or said anything else after that, which was a relief. And this time, my search for Lixia ended quickly as I found her complaining to the cashier about how they had lied to her because there weren’t any free books; claiming that if it hadn't been for their cute cashiers, she would’ve sued the store. I quickly intervened, apologizing to the cashier and manager that had appeared after getting a call from San. I took the opportunity to pay for the book and apologize one last time for the misunderstanding. And throughout the car ride, I managed to explain to Lixia that the store, indeed, didn’t sell free books. Which resulted in her almost crying because she had lost a chance with the cute cashier.

Today I was supposed to go on a date with Jimin, but to be honest...

“I’m exhausted.” I protested, as I rubbed my tired eyes. “I can’t believe I spent the whole night reading that freaking book.”

I was so desperate to find answers that, once I got home, I took a shower and immediately started reading after that. I even fell asleep on the couch without noticing until I woke up. But I did find answers... more than expected, actually.

I learned that there are various types of angels with different tasks and duties. And also  learned about their abilities and their origins. But what gave me the most clarity, was when I landed on the topic about Earth angels, also called Lightworkers.

Apparently, Earth angels are guardian angels born as humans here on Earth to serve humanity or nature. They choose whomever they want to, since God gives them the free will to choose or to be assigned to. He also gives them the free will to choose if they actually want to become an Earth angel themselves. The reason for this is because it’s painful for them. They forget the memories of who they once were for it to not intrude with their mission. And they are constantly feeling homesick and out of place. Since they have so much goodness within them... being surrounded by so much vileness and negativity makes them feel depressed or anxious.

Some of them... don’t even get to complete their task. This is why Earth angels are so rare; they have to have an important reason or motivation to want to become one.

Since I found out about that piece of information, I’ve been thinking...

“I wonder... which was mine? What was so important to me?” I whispered to myself as I rinsed the coffee mug and plate I had just used for breakfast.

Last night, reading the book, my mind could still not comprehend the idea of me being an angel. During my life, I always knew our souls continued to live even after our bodies had reached their limit; I knew I had past lives despising what religion said. But the thought of me being an angel, had never crossed my mind. And I don’t think it would’ve ever had.

I looked at the microwaves’ clock, remembering the date I had with Jimin. And once I saw the hour, my mouth let out a big: “Oh shit!”; knowing I was already running out of time. After I finished washing the dishes, I quickly went to my bedroom to get prepared for the date; I only had like 20 minutes before he got here, so I needed to finish as soon as possible.

I went to the closet and picked the outfit I had already put together days before (thankfully). I let my hair down and applied a natural makeup look, finishing it off with a pair of earrings and a necklace. I didn’t know if other people considered this sexy, but at least I did.

I grabbed my bag, checking that I had everything I needed as I walked to the living room to wait for his arrival. Confirming that I had everything, before I closed the bag, I took out a hand mirror I had and checked myself out for any details in need of attention. As I fixed some strands of my hair, I noticed something weird from the corner of my eye, taking shape of a human form. My widening eyes immediately went to the figure, coming in contact with an all too familiar boy with wavy hair and tattoos, who was so casually reading one of the books from my bookshelf, sitting on the armchair of the living room with crossed legs.

And boy did I shit myself.

“WHAT THE ACTUAL-“ My words got cut off as I saw the mirror now flying across the room due to my body’s abrupt reaction.

He simply continued to read the book as if nothing had happened; making me more annoyed that I already was. But I could tell something was wrong by the way his eyebrows were furrowed and lips were slightly narrowed.

His eyes kept focusing on the book as he spoke. “So where are we going, may I ask?” He asked, a hint of irritation coming through his voice.

I took note of that; not understanding the reason behind his bad humor. And also taking note of the “we”.

“Jungkook, w-what are you doing here?” I asked, not daring to move closer.

To be honest, I wasn’t surprised he had shown up. I was, indeed, expecting for him to show up sooner or later. But seriously, a knock on the door would’ve been better and wouldn’t had cost me a broken mirror.

His eyes finally lifted from the book, piercing straight at mine with an intimidating look that I certainly didn’t like.

Seriously, what is up with him? I thought to myself.

I haven’t done anything wrong to upset him this way.

“You didn’t answer my first question, my sun.” He spoke, closing the book meanwhile; placing it on the coffee table before him.

Settling his chin between his fingers as his elbow relaxed on one of the chair’s arms, he proceeded to evaluate my figure. I noticed his jaw suddenly clench as his eyes continued to examine my body. And I couldn’t be more self-conscious. I didn’t know what he was doing or thinking, but I was not going to let that change the fact that he doesn’t need to know about my businesses with other people. I can accept him wanting to talk, but to try to find out what I do and don’t do in my life... that’s a line he won’t cross.

... and, also, because I really don’t want to explain to him that I’m going out on a date. I did think about cancelling it after all that happened but... I felt bad and didn’t want to leave Jimin hanging at last minute; I’m not that type of person.

“Sorry for my bluntness but... that is something that doesn’t concern you.” I managed to respond.

“Well, my sun... as a matter of fact, it does concern me.” He spoke, surprisingly keeping his calm. “Want to know why?”

I gulped, going back to my nervous state. “W-why?”

“Because as you must know by now, I was the first one to claim you... wasn’t I?” He raised an eyebrow. “And I need to know whether you are or not, going to go out with a certain guy I happened to had heard of. So I can tell him to politely screw off.” He spoke, fake smiling at the end.

So he was listening to my conversation with Lixia, huh? I don’t know how he did it but he did.

Might as well rip the bandage off.

“You are not my-“

There was a knock on the door, cutting my words off. The door had now both Jungkook and I’s attention.

“Shit.” I mumbled to myself.

I knew already who it was, which was the reason I was contemplating whether to make a run for it, or make it big and clear one last time that I was, indeed, going on a date with Jimin despising what he said. But when I saw him standing up with a devilish smirk on his face that screamed: “I’m going to fuck up all of your plans”, that’s when I knew... I had to make a run for it. Fuck plan B, we are going to run.

My legs began to sprint towards the door as fast as they could, despising the heels. And in the background, I could hear his legs also picking up speed behind me as he realized what I was trying to do. But just as I was going to grab the door handle, his hand managed to grab it first while cornering my body from behind.

“May I?” He whispered in my ear; chills running through my body due to his proximity.

I didn’t even have to turn around to see the mocking grin he had to have right now; his tone said it all. He was really enjoying this, wasn’t he?

Accepting my defeat, I spoke almost whispering. “Jungkook... please let me go. It’s just one date. And I’m not even sure if I want him as a partner.”

“No can do, beautiful.”

“Jungkook please... he is just a friend. It’s just one-“

Two fingers went inside my mouth, coating the top of my tongue making me enable to speak. A gasp getting caught up in my throat.

“Yeah, but what if your friend does this?” He spoke in a soft tone, sounding almost innocent.

Both middle and ring finger moved inside my mouth, feeling the wetness. He went around my tongue and deeper into my throat, almost making me choke. His fingers came out of my mouth, followed by a string of saliva.

“What if it was his cock instead of my fingers?”

“J-Jungkook w-wha-“ I blushed.

His wet fingers went inside my pants, putting pressure on to my clit through my underwear. “Or even worst, what if he touched you down here?”

“(Y/n)! Are you there?” Jimin asked from the other side of the door.

“J-Jungkook- hngh- please stop.” I pleaded, trying to keep quiet.

His fingers began to rub themselves over my slit, completely ignoring my demands.

“I’m just giving you a demonstration, beauty. One thing can lead to another in a matter of seconds. Do you really think I’m going to let that happen with your “just friend” as you say?” He licked a stripe on my neck, causing me to shiver, and proceeded to rub his lips against my earlobe, biting it slightly.

“Tell him to leave, (y/n).” He demanded.

“What? I’m not going to- aahng-“

His fingers managed to move aside my underwear, entering the same two wet digits into my hole; curling themselves inside of me, finding my g-spot almost instantly. I arched my back, covering my mouth with one hand and the other holding the arm whose fingers were currently inside of me.

“I said: tell him to leave.” He repeated sharply.

Knocks were heard on the door once again.

“(Y/n), is that you?” Jimin asked through the door.

“Y-y-yes! It’s me. I just d-don’t feel aah- “ I coughed to cover up my moan who managed to escape due to Jungkook’s thumb now pressing against my clit as he thrusted his two fingers inside of me.

“I just don’t feel w-well as you can see.”

Jungkook darkly chuckled, enjoyment all over his face.

“Oh! You should’ve told me so I could buy you some medicine before I got here, babe.” Jimin answered in his usual sweet voice.

Babe?” Jungkook growled into my ear; he added a third digit into my hole, increasing their speed.

“Fu-“ my hand went to my mouth again. “N-no mm worries; it’s ok.” I managed to speak despising the overwhelming pleasure that was beginning to gather up. “I’m just going to stay at home; I- I don’t want you cat-catching something.”

“(Y/n), you know I don’t care about that. I just want to make sure you get better... and also spend some time with you in the meantime.” Jimin said, and I could already see him smiling even though the door was between us.

For fuck’s sake, when is he going to leave already?!

This is what happens when you only befriend stubborn people.

“Jimin, I would love to spend time with you, but I just don’t feel well and I rather be alone. And like I said, I really don’t want you to catch something because of me.” Surprisingly, I managed to speak without stuttering or moaning. It’s probably because I want him to just leave already.

“Ah...” disappointment could be heard through his voice, but was quickly replaced with his usual happy self. “Well, we can always just reschedule. I’m just going to leave you the tiger lilies I bought for you next to the door. I know they are your favorites so... hope you like them, (y/n). And please text me if you need anything.”

I tried to shake Jungkook’s hand off since I knew my orgasm was getting closer, but, instead, he spread my legs even wider with his leg to have more room to go in deeper and faster.

I bit down a moan, hitting the wall next to me to let out my frustration. My shaky breath was making it hard for me to respond. And Jungkook noticed my struggle, smirking like the devil he is.

“Need some help answering, beautiful? Do you need me to stop fingering your needy cunt? Or do you want to show your little friend part of the show?” He teased into my ear, his fingers never slowing down.

I could already feel some muscles of my body beginning to twitch. So before the orgasm could hit I took the opportunity to speak, praying he would leave after this.

“Y-yes! T-thank you s-o much.” I almost moaned.

“Well, that was a little bit too enthusiastic, don’t you think?” Jungkook chuckled.

I wanted to tell him to shut up so badly but I was concentrating on holding in my orgasm.

“Ok...?” Jimin responded, clearly taking note of the tone of my voice. But apparently decided to just let it pass, as I heard him say his goodbye and leave.

Finally hearing his footsteps fade, my body could finally release all the buildup tension. And instantly felt my muscles jerk and shake from the waves of pleasure that shot through my body once I let my guard down. Jungkook’s fingers never stopped pumping in and out of me throughout my whole orgasm and my body slowly fell into the floor from not being able to keep myself up anymore. Jungkook also followed my motion to the floor, not letting me fall solid but instead softly.

After my orgasm had ceased, he removed his fingers from my underwear and placed them inside his mouth, sucking them dry as his stared into my eyes making sure I watched.

I glared at him and he smirked, knowing damn well what he had done and what I was feeling in that moment.

He then stood up and opened the door slightly grabbing the flowers that Jimin had let outside and sat down right next to me against the wall.

“Tiger Lilies, huh?” Jungkook said with a knowing smile, as he handed them to me.

I rolled my eyes at him and grabbed the flowers as I managed to stand up with my shaky legs. “Thanks for ruining my date, by the way.” I retorted.

I took the opportunity to go into the kitchen and take out a vase I had stored exclusively for flowers, filling it up with water.

“And I hope you haven’t forgotten the real reason why you like those flowers in the first place.” He clapped back, also standing up.

I turned around, glaring at him, continuing my walk back to the living room with both bouquet and vase.

“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I lied, trying my best to shake off the topic... even though i knew it was inevitable. Right now I was too mad to speak about the topic. And if we did speak about it, I knew I would end up letting my guard down again. And I didn’t want that.

Jungkook swallowed down his frustration. “(Y/n)... I’m already pissed off by that guy.” he signaled to the door. “Don’t piss me off even more by acting like you don’t know what I’m talking about, please.”

I placed the vase on top of the small bookshelf I had under the glass window, so the flowers could receive direct sunlight. I removed the wrapper the bouquet had, and proceeded to place it in the vase.

As I arranged the flowers so they looked more proper, I spoke. “I can date and hook up with whoever I want. Because as far as I know... I don’t remember ever agreeing to be anybody’s girlfriend in this lifetime.”

He chuckled darkly; anger filling him. “Oh, beauty... “

“I’ve been trying to give you multiple chances to redeem yourself. But now... now you’ve done it.”

He scoffed. “So the angel doesn’t remember?”

I heard as his feet began to walk towards me, taking his time with each step.

Shit. I cursed to myself, as I now nervously continued to arrange the flowers knowing that I had screwed myself over once more.

I could hear his footsteps continuing to get closer from behind me.

“Are you really sure about that, (y/n)? Are you that sure that you don’t remember me?” He added.

I kept quiet, not daring to speak any more. I tried to concentrate on the flowers to not let my guard completely down. But...

His footsteps came to a stop, and I could feel his body’s warmth radiate towards my body, tempting me to erase the only few inches left for our bodies to collide.

Part of me wanted to run away: the part that was scared of the unknown. But there was another part of me, a part that was somehow hidden deep inside my soul, who wanted to stay and be touched.

I saw how both of his hands began sneaking upon my hip bones, getting dangerously close to my groin. But his hands stopped beforehand, and instead continued to tease the hip area; grabbing it firmly as he massaged the sensitive skin. My breathing’s pace began to change, becoming slightly agitated. And goosebumps now coated my body as he continued to touch me.

His touch...

He darkly chuckled next to my ear, noticing my body’s reaction to his hands.

Both of his hands then began to slowly, but surely in a teasing way, move upwards. Passing through my waist and stopping right under my breasts, continuing to massage the area. One of his hands then switched to my neck, the other still under my breast. He grabbed my neck firmly but not too tightly as his lips came in contact with my ear’s skin, rubbing them softly before whispering into my ear...

“You still think so, (y/n)? You still think that you don’t remember me?”

I wanted to respond to him, but I knew I was going to betray myself if I opened my mouth. And I didn’t want to give him any more satisfaction than he already had.

“Your body seems to remember me quite well... I just don’t see the problem here.” Once again he chuckled teasingly against my ear.

I was annoyed but at the same time aroused. Which made me even more annoyed. I wanted to push him off of me but... he was so intoxicating and addictive; I just wanted more.

“(Y/n)...” his voice had become deeper and raspy suddenly.

I felt his body push against me, giving me a feel of his hardened cock against my ass.

“I’m going to fuck you here. So everyone... including your loving friend, can see what they cannot have.” He harshly thrusted his hips forward with a deep groan, feeling his breaths become heavy on my neck.

But that’s when I snapped out of his spell, as I grew conscious that we were in front of the window and people who passed by or lived in the opposite building could see what we were doing. This... this was the limit; I was surely not going to have sex in front of a window for every fucking person to see.

Before he managed to do anything else, I grabbed one of the tiger lilies in front of me and began slapping him with it until he let go defeatedly; taking advantage of that, I ran as far as I could from him; now standing close to the door just in case I had to escape... even though it wasn’t going to help much. But at least it would earn me some momentary peace.

“For the love of fucking Lucifer! I think you got pollen in my eye.” He exclaimed, while trying to clean the polluter off from his eyes. “My eyes fucking hurt; seriously, what the fuck, (y/n)?!”

“I’m sorry, ok?! But you can’t just barge in in into someone’s life after years of ghosting them, thinking they are yours to claim as if they didn’t have a made out life already!” I exclaimed, not caring if the neighbors heard me.

Jungkook managed to finally open his eyes and spoke. “Ghosting you?” He asked, tilting his head to the side confused.

“You talk about me, but you also play dumb.” I said, annoyed.

“The least I want to do right now is that. But, seriously, I don’t know what you are talking about.” He spoke sincerely.

“You have been appearing in my dreams since I was five years old! Isn’t that one of your stupid demon powers?!”

“(Y/n), those dreams weren’t my doing. Trust me... if i had found you that early, I would’ve stayed by your side to protect you and avoid things like Jimin.”

I tried to make sense out of it but...

“I- I don’t understand.” I frowned, shaking my head.

“That was not me; that was yourself. You, Aruna, wanted to remember.” He said.

I shook my head, not believing what I was hearing. “Then... then how did you find me?” I tried justifying my claim.

“Finding you wasn’t as easy as you think it was, (y/n).” He responded.

“Just tell me how; I need to know.” I emphasized.

He sighed. “The book you touched at the bookstore... It was an enchanted one. I left enchanted books in various bookstores and libraries around the world. Each of them contain a different memory that we shared. Once you touch them, I know where you are and I can see you entering the memory. Since I knew you had left for a mission on Earth... I wanted to find you no matter what. I told you that before you left. The funny part was that you thought I was joking.” He laughed, but his expression quickly changed into a saddened one.

Now it made so much sense of why I did what I did at the bookstore.

My anger began to dissipate, and so did my words.

“Like, fuck! Did you really think I was going to wait that long? I tried... I really tried, but... I couldn’t keep you off from my head.” His voice almost broke as he continued to speak.

“So... in order to find you and to also cope with my grief, I started placing each memory I thought of while you were gone in the books; spreading them around the world hoping you came across one, one day.” He continued.

“I knew how much you loved to read so... I just knew you were also going to love reading in this lifetime.” He shrugged with glossy eyes.

A tear slipped down my cheek. Once again, he had made me cried.

“But I don’t regret anything.” He assured.

A few seconds went by; silence surrounding us. I didn’t know what to say; I just couldn’t find the right words. So I awkwardly walked back to the bookshelf, placing the damaged flower back inside of the vase while Jungkook’s eyes followed my figure, curious about my movements. I turned to face him and stood in front of him. I wiped some pollen residue that he still had on his face.

“Sorry about the pollen in your eye.” I said with an apologetic look.

His eyes never left mine as I cleaned the pollen off; admiring his treasure from closer.

Suddenly, his hand stopped mine.

“And I’m not sorry for what I’m about to do now.”

“What?” I asked confused.

Using my grasped hand, he pulled me towards him, merging both of our lips together. His thumb then went to my bottom lip, entering my mouth slightly and pushing my jaw down to give himself more access. I felt his tongue collide with mine along with the vibrations of the moan that left his throat. His other hand then sneaked to the back of my head, grabbing a fistful of hair and pulling me back, separating our lips.

Looking into my eyes as his mouth released raged breaths, he spoke.” I really fucking missed you.”

“I really fucking did.”

His lips went back to mine, kissing me while his hands pushed me towards the bookshelf that had the tiger lilies. I tried to protest, knowing what he was trying to do. But his kisses just became more greedy and harsh, as I tried to speak. As soon as my lower back collided with the bookshelf, he hands spun me around, my view now being the outside world.

I was going to close the curtains but his hands stopped me from doing so. And instead, grabbed both of my arms, pinning them behind me with one arm; while the other grabbed my neck, pushing my back towards him.

“We still have a show to give, remember? Or did you forgot about that also?” He spoke into my ear with a breathy chuckle.

“Let’s hope Jimin is watching too. It’s a show I don’t want him to miss.” He added.

My back was slightly pushed down, causing my face to be closer to the window; I blushed from the public exposure; not daring to check if people were watching.

I felt him unbuckle my pants, pulling them down afterwards.

“Jungkook, we can do this in the bedroom; we don’t have to do this here.” I tried to convince him.

His hand lowered my panties, giving him full access now to my slit. I saw how his pupils dilated once he saw my dripping folds, cursing at the beautiful sight before him. Two fingers were suddenly inserted into my hole, making me whimper.

“I like it more here.” He replied.

He then took his fingers out, examining the wetness of his fingers and your owns. Confirming that you were all ready for him, he unbuckled his pants and took out his throbbing cock from his underwear. He gave himself a few strokes as he watched my dripping cunt, groaning at the feeling.

“Jungkook, pleas- “ he slammed into you, not wanting to waste any more time. He was already in pain and didn’t want to wait any longer.

Jungkook’s throat released a long deep growl, accompanied by another harsh thrust; pure bliss blinding him.

I felt as his hand grabbed one of my ass’s cheek, giving it a hard squeeze followed by a slap as he continued pounding me harshly from behind; his pace then began increasing, the thrust keeping their rough actions.

Fuck!” I yelped from the stretch; tears forming in my eyes.

But as my walls grew accustomed to him little by little, I felt my body relax and fill with pleasure instead.

While the slaps of our skins continued, I grew more self-conscious each second, knowing that everybody could see my fucked up expression through the window. So I lowered my head down, trying to hide it. But Jungkook noticed what I was trying to do and quickly intervened.

His free hand grabbed a fistful of my hair and forcefully lifted my head up, making me whimper from the sting. He moved his body closer to mine, speaking into my ear.

“Let them watch... let them know how much you enjoy my cock.” His hand released my hair, going back to his previous position. I whimpered at his words, feeling defeated once more as I gave in to my arousal.

His hips began moving faster, making every part of my body shake from each impact. My cries of pleasure were no longer controllable and I just knew tomorrow was going to be a day full of interrogations by my neighbor: Taehyung.

He then pulled me towards him using my pinned arms that he still held, now making my back arch. His free hand then lifted my top and bra up as his hand desperately traveled to my breast, giving it a rough squeeze followed by a slap.

“You don’t fucking know how many nights I  spent picturing this with my hand around my cock.” He spoke into my ear between raged breaths and low grunts.

I moaned, already feeling myself getting closer to my peak.

“You are getting close, aren’t you? He asked and I nodded.

“G-great because I don’t- shit... I don’t think I can last a-ny longer.” He breathed heavily into my ear.

My vision became black as my body jerked and twitched from the rippling pleasure that overtook me.

Jungkook was quick to follow, not being able to hold any longer after seeing you come. He took his dick out and came all over my back with a loud guttural sound followed by heavy pants that never ceased until he had fully unloaded.

After a few seconds of gathering himself up, he released my arms. The first thing I did was close the curtains, even though it was too late already, I wanted to hide myself as soon as possible.

Jungkook smiled knowingly. “Don’t worry, I placed a spell on the window; anyone that watches, forgets what they saw after an hour.”

I let out a big sigh of relief; thanking his demon powers for once... and his mercy. “Except for Jimin... he can kiss my ass.” He added.

I rolled my eyes at him, turning my body around to face him. “Jimin is a good guy, you better start getting used to him; he is one of my closest friends, you know?”

“Yeah but that friend likes you.” He retorted.

“But what I feel for him, doesn’t compare to what I feel for-“ I cut myself off, realizing what I was going to say.

I... love this guy? But I don’t even know him!

...Aruna. This are your feelings, aren’t they?

“What were you going to say, my sun?” He proudly smirked, catching quickly on your line of thoughts.

“N-nothing.” I gazed down to the floor; not daring to look at him in the eyes.

I felt his fingertips lift my gaze up to meet his. He smiled softly at my blushing cheeks. “Let’s get you cleaned up, shall we?”

We?” I repeated.

“Yes we. We are going to take a shower together.” His hand grabbed mine, leading me to the hallway.

“What? No! I can clean myself up alone.” I protested.

“So you don’t want to take a shower with me?” He raised an eyebrow.

“N-no.” I responded weakly, knowing I was lying to myself.

“Ok, suit yourself; I’ll go first.” He said, taking off his shirt followed up by his underwear which were the only two pieces of clothing left for him to take off; he placed them to a side.

My eyes went immediately to his abs and snatched waist, almost drooling at the sight. It was inevitable, I still hadn’t seen him shirtless and the view was too irresistible not to look at, especially for a woman. My eyes then trailed to his prominent v-line and then to his genitals, wanting to get a feel of him and a taste. I just couldn’t look away... until I noticed his eyes on me, making me snap out of my trance instantly.

Shit. Why do I keep screwing myself over and over?

He knowingly smiled, tilting his head to the side. “Still don’t want to take a shower with me, beautiful? You seem to like my body very much... don’t you want to touch it?” He smirked with a raised eyebrow.

“U-ummm...” I was really flustered; too flustered to speak.

“Because I do; I want you to touch me.” He came closer, grabbing my hand as my face redden.

“Come.” He added, and I complied, surrendering to my wants as he guided me to the hallway.

I was honestly ashamed at myself for being this easy; I’ve never complied to a man this fast. But I mean… can you blame me?

“Where is your bathroom?” He asked.

“There.” I pointed.

We both entered the bathroom, him closing the door behind us. He took my top  off along with my bra. And proceeded to turn on the shower head; checking that the water temperature was right for both of us first (but more specifically for you).

He got in first, extending his hand for me to grab. But before I did, I gathered my hair into a bun and then proceeded to enter with my hand on his.

He was the first to grab the sponge, putting some body wash on it. He gently then began cleaning my body, as both of us stayed silent. Surprisingly, the silence was comfortable, as if we had known each other forever... which was the actual reason behind it. But for me, (y/n), it was still new.

His hands washed my back now, leaving kisses all over my neck with occasional love bites. My mind was, again, fogging with his touches and lips all over my skin. One of his hands then began lowering to my groin area, but I stopped him beforehand, turning around as I did. His eyes were confounded, not understanding why I stopped him as he knew I was enjoying his touch. But I just couldn’t resist any more to touch him; I was going to wait till he finished bathing me, but, I could feel his dick hardening against my ass while he washed my back, and it just made it impossible.

He was going to touch me again but I stopped him, making him pout.

“Let me-“ I cleared my throat. “Let me touch you, please.” I managed to respond at the end.

I seriously didn’t know why I was nervous; I’ve done things like this before. But... it’s just him that makes me this nervous.

He smiled; feeling his arousal increase by the thought of you touching him.

“You don’t have to ask, silly.” He chuckled, making you blush.

“But, yeah... touch me; please do.” He added; his eyes eagerly anticipating your movements.

I nodded.

My hand went to his cheek, caressing it tenderly as he placed his own hand over mine and gave a few kisses to the palm of my hand. I then traveled to his neck, continuing to his chest. I stopped there, placing one of his nipples between my fingers and playing with it, while my mouth sucked and licked parts of his chest including his other hardened nipple occasionally.

His breaths and whimpers were now clear as day, not only because of your sinful tongue but also because his rock-hard cock was rubbing against your stomach. So he began to grind himself against you, while one of his hands grabbed on tightly your hip, to feel more of your sweet skin as you left red marks on his chest.

After toying with his chest, my hand continued to lower to his groin area, passing his delicious abs and stopping at his v-line. I traced my fingers on his line, still fascinated by how beautiful he was.

He whimpered as his skin got coated with goosebumps. So fucking close. He thought to himself, watching your hand linger on his v-line. He wanted to grab your hand and place it on his dick already, but he wanted you to have his way with him; it was not fair to not let you do so; he already knew how much you wanted to touch him, and he was going to let you do so even if his body told him otherwise.

Finally, my hand reached his pulsating cock, wrapping him around me firmly. His throat released a low grunt, finally getting the pressure he wanted.

Using his pre-cum, I began thrusting his cock into my hand while his hips twitched and thrusted forward desperately to feel more of my touch.

Both of his hands now rested between the wall and the shower door, giving me a good view of his entire form. My slit was already throbbing, just by the way his muscles flexed and his head threw back while letting out breathy curses. I wanted to do more, I wanted to make his body go crazy from my touch. So while one of my hands worked on his dick, the other began massaging his balls. My tongue then began flicking his hardened nipple, making him shudder and moan uncontrollably due to so many stimulations at once. After a harsh suck of his nipple, my tongue then licked its way up to his lips, passing through his neck and jawline. He eagerly opened his mouth, letting me enter him and explore his mouth freely. He moaned, vibrating through your lips.

Suddenly, I felt him grab a fistful of my hair pulling me back and separating our lips.

“I want to fuck your face; will you let me?” He asked, breathing heavily.

I almost moaned just thinking of having him in my mouth; I was finally going to be able to feel him and taste him against my tongue. I whimpered at the thought.

Jungkook noticed my reaction, and he already knew what my answer was without having to hear me. With a breathy chuckle, he spoke.

“Get on your knees, beautiful.” He ordered as he pulled me down by my hair; I complied, opening my mouth wide as I got to my knees, getting all ready for him.

He groaned at the sight. “Beautiful.”

With a hand still on my hair, he grabbed his dick, rubbing the swollen tip around my face as he spoke. “But I think you’re going to look even more beautiful with my cum dripping down your lips.” He lastly said before shoving his dick deep inside of my mouth, instantly making me gag.

“F-fucking hell.” Jungkook grunted, getting high to the feeling of my throat closing up on him as I tried to swallow.

His hips then began thrusting into my mouth merciless, barely giving me time to breathe. The back of my throat being abused as my eyes watered by him using his hand on my hair as a tool to fuck my mouth wide deep.

I moaned, loving the feeling and sound of his dick thrusting into my mouth.

“You really love having my dick shoved deep down your throat, don’t you?” He growled.

I moaned as a response, shoving two fingers inside my hole, not being able to hold myself back because of the burning between my folds. Jungkook noticed, his orgasm almost reaching its peak as his eyes took in the spectacle before him.

“Fuck yes, keep fingering your needy cunt.” He panted, his grip on your hair getting tighter.

I could tell he was very close to his release since I could feel his cock already twitching in my mouth. And his cries of pleasure getting more desperate by the second, confirming the closeness to it.

So my fingers began moving even faster, touching my clit with my other hand as I desperately wanted to come with his own orgasm.

Suddenly, I felt his cum gush into the inside of my mouth and throat, followed by rough thrusts and the twitching of his thighs as his lips parted, shouting my name between raged moans.

Watching him lose himself in his own pleasure, made my high come even faster, coming to the movement of my fingers; moans getting chocked down as his cock continued to thrust into me while his orgasm slowly ceased.

After calming himself down and making sure my orgasm had ceased, he helped me get up by my hand.

His thumb went up into my bottom lip, cleaning the cum residue off of my abused mouth as he spoke. “Let’s now actually get you cleaned up; what do you say?” He laughed.

I just rolled my eyes at him. But at the same time smiled, chuckling at his words.

“Every inch of my body fucking hurts thanks to you.” I winced as I sat down on the sofa next to Jungkook who was currently looking for a movie to watch together.

It bothered me knowing he was doing just fine without a single strain in his body. I, on the other hand, had my neck, back and legs killing me. I even had to take ibuprofen to avoid the pain from getting worse.

After the shower, Jungkook decided that he wanted to watch a movie with me and call it “the date that Jimin never had.” I was annoyed just by knowing the real reason he wanted to call it a date but, I wanted to take the opportunity to learn more about him and myself included.

“Seriously, couldn’t you be more... gentle?” I added.

“I’ve been waiting for about two decades for you; bear with me.” He replied as he kept searching for a movie.

“That is not an excuse, Jungkook.” I said with a straight face.

“It is to me and probably to any other healthy male.”

I rolled my eyes.

“Although... I do like it rough per se.” He winked, making me blush and look away.

He chuckled, seeing my reaction. “But did you like it, though?”

After the crazy orgasms I had... I could say 100% yes, as much as I didn’t want to admit it because of how cocky he could get to praise.

“I guess.” I shrugged as I avoided eye contact with him. But from the corner of my eye I could see him smirking.

“Anyways...” I awkwardly began speaking, wanting to change the topic.

“What movie are we watching?”

“I was thinking ‘Your Name’. Have you watched it?” He asked.

“Nop.” I shook my head.

“Perfect. Now I get to watch you cry for a second time.” He giggled mischievously.

“Wait, I have watched this before?” I asked shocked.

“Yeah, on one of our dates we had.”

“Oh.” I responded quietly while Jungkook got the movie ready.

My gaze went to the floor as he did, still trying to understand the reason I came here in the first place. If I was so happy with him back there... why did I decide to leave just like that? If I knew how painful it was, and I knew I had to make the sacrifice of leaving him behind... why did I do it? Why did I do it if I could do just as much by staying as an angel?

Don’t get me wrong, even though it has been a tough journey, I love the people that surrounded me, and the opportunities that this life has given me to grow. And even though this world can be so cruel sometimes... it can also be just as beautiful; so beautiful it must be cherished. But, even so, why? Why did I come here? What was my most important motive?

Jungkook noticed your troubled expression; some worry surfacing as he watched you furrow your eyebrows while staring ahead.

He then stopped the movie and placed the TV remote on the coffee table and turned his body to face you, scooting closer to you as he moved a strand of hair behind your ear.

“What’s wrong, beautiful?” Jungkook asked.

As I played with my fingers thoughtfully, I answered. “Jungkook... why am I here?”

“What do you mean?” Jungkook said as he tilted his head to the side trying to understand.

“What I mean is... why did I decide to come to Earth instead of just staying with you?” I asked, my eyes now lifting up to meet his who were slightly taken back by your sudden question.

He chuckled softly. “I knew this question was coming sooner or later.”

“But sadly I can’t tell you, (y/n).”

“Why not?” I was disappointed.

“Because... you are not supposed to know your mission, angel. Didn’t you read that in the book I suggested to you?”

“Yeah but I still want to know.” I whined as I pouted, making him chuckle.

“I’ve already intruded more than enough in your mission and I don’t want to keep intruding even more. I was not even supposed to find you on the first place; it’s against the rules for an acquaintance to get involved with an angel when they are doing a mission on Earth, unless it’s an emergency.”

“Can your blue balls count as an emergency?” I grinned fluttering my eyelashes as I tried convincing him into telling me.

“(Y/n), what the fuck? No.” He responded by shaking his head with a soft blush forming over his cheeks.

I snorted out a laugh noticing him getting flustered.

“I’m kidding, stupid.” I said between laughs. “But jokes aside, how can I find out about my mission by myself?”

“By trusting your gut.” He kissed my head.

“Well that sucks.”

He giggled. “You’ll find out eventually. Besides, I only found out recently, so I was as clueless as you were right now.”

“Wait, I never told you?”

“No, you didn’t. Because you knew what I was going to do if I knew where you were.”

“If I had known it was going to end up like this anyway, I would’ve just told you.” I said, making him laugh.

His hand then went into my hair caressing it, so I leaned closer by placing my head on his shoulder, savoring his touch and warmth. After a moment of comfortable silence and just enjoying each other’s presence, I spoke.

“Jungkook, can I ask you something personal?”

“I’ve already told you everything about me so it’s not a big deal nor a problem.”

“Oh, that’s true.” I giggled.

“Then... why did you become a demon?”

I felt his body slightly stiff under me but then quickly relaxed. Apparently, it wasn’t a topic he liked to talk about much.

“Jungkook, if you don’t want to-“

“It’s ok. That was another question I was expecting. It’s just that, that topic always manages to overwhelm me a little bit, you know? But it’s not that I cannot talk about it. So it’s ok.” he ruffled my hair in a reassuring way and I nodded.

I lifted up my head, sitting up straight, staring at him with comforting smile. “Tell me then.”

He then grabbed my hand, choosing to focus on it instead, as his fingertips traced the prominent veins on top of it.

“Before I became a demon and met you, I had a beautiful family that I deeply loved and cared for. I had a best friend that was more like a brother, a girlfriend who I had loved since college years, and a precious daughter who was about to be born.”

“You had a daughter?” I asked in disbelief.

“Yeah. A daughter who I never got to hold between my arms.” He said, his fingers still tracing figures on my hand.

I was starting to think that he was only focusing on my hand to avoid losing himself in his emotions; I could see it by the way he swallowed deeply.

“And what happened?” I asked, caressing his hair briefly with my other hand to comfort him.

“My girlfriend... I found out she had been having an affair with my best friend even before the pregnancy. And when I confronted her about it, a week later, she decided to run away with my best friend, only leaving a note behind telling me she was sorry.”

My throat turned tight as anger accumulated in my chest. I took a deep breath trying to relax myself, mainly because I didn’t want to aggravate what he was feeling at that moment. And also because I knew he had probably already seen a reaction like this from me before.

“After that, I began searching for them week after week; trying my best to decipher where my daughter had gone... after all, she was the only reason I wanted to find them. But... when I didn’t see results after so many tries, I just began to drink my days away; wasting all of my money on alcohol. Pretty pathetic when I look back at it.”

“I couldn’t sleep... could barely eat... I had lost my job... everything felt as if I had been trapped in an endless abyss. It was until one night after some drinks at the bar. When the king of the underworld himself, Lucifer, presented in front of me offering me one of his pacts, wanting to take advantage of my vulnerability at the moment as he always did with his victims. He told me that if I became one of his servant, I was going to be able to find my daughter... which was true... I did find her afterwards using the powers the pact gave me. But... I was now stuck being one of his puppets, feeling disgusted with myself by having accepted his offer so pathetically easily. I still remember ranting to my girlfriend about how idiotic all of those people were who accepted his offerings and fell into his trap. But turns out, I was an idiot too the whole time.”

Lucifer was still known till this day by his pacts. But the mention of his name was not as common as for those days, less and less people fell for his acts due to the truth spreading amongst the people. Which made Lucifer come less with time; it was really good news to hear truthfully. But knowing Jungkook was one of his victims, made my blood boil in search of justice.

“What did-“ I tried speaking, but got choked up in my words.

Jungkook quickly noticed, lifting up his gaze and wiping away a tear that had fallen from my eye.

“Sorry, I didn’t want to cry.”

“It’s ok.” He chuckled, planting a kiss on my forehead. “What were you going to ask me, though?”

“I was going to ask about what you did when you found your daughter.”

“Ah... I did see her but... I just felt that I wasn’t worthy of being her father anymore knowing what I had turned into. So I left that day without saying a word, feeling grateful that at least I had gotten to see her face as she slept so peacefully inside her crib. I did visit her from time to time afterwards, seeing her grow into a beautiful, beautiful young girl.” He smiled as her smiling face flashed before his eyes.

“But... I then stopped, as I realized it was just making me hurt more. I, with no doubt, wanted to be there for her and protect her... but just couldn’t. You, on the other hand, were always scolding me for not doing so.” He chuckled at the end.

“Funny enough, that was what I was going to do now.”

He laughed, making me chuckle.

“But seriously Jungkook, you should talk to her. I’m sure she would understand.” I assured.

“I don’t know... maybe in a future when I feel ready and the need to do so. The only person I’ve felt comfortable enough to show my true self, has been you. And that’s more than enough for me.”

I nodded in comprehension, softly smiling at his last words.

“You were the only one who never saw me as a monster, but instead, saw me as me.” He gestured to his heart.

“And that is one of the many reasons I fell in love with you.” He smiled warmly, placing a hand on my cheek.

I mirrored his smile as his lips moved closer to mine.

But placed my hand on the top of his mouth, stopping his kiss. “One more question.”

He groaned as a response.

“You really haven’t changed at all. What is it?” He spoke, despising my hand.

“Where the hell are your horns and the other demonic shit traits if you are a demon?” I asked.

I had been curious for a while now and I think now it’s the right time to ask so... or maybe not hehe.

“I have those... I’m just in my human form today, mainly because I didn’t want to startle you.” He responded, now kissing the hand that was on top of his mouth, as his tongue licked a stripe on my wrist.

“Why? You want to see it?” He smirked, the whiteness of his eyes momentarily becoming black as he stared into my eyes.

I gasped, slightly intimidated. But went in closer as I became fascinated by his demon features.

“Yes, please.” I responded, almost moaning at the sensation of his tongue sucking on my wrist’s skin.

“Shit, when you plead like that...” He rasped.

I felt his hands pick me up by my waist and straddle me between his thighs, making me feel his already hardened cock over his jeans as his lips devoured my neck. His tongue was now different... it felt different; it was as if the tip of his tongue had split into two, resembling a serpent’s one.

I moaned at the new feeling, imagining how it will feel against my clit. His hips then began thrusting into my clothed core, making me close my eyes at the friction. When I opened my eyes, Jungkook’s head now had two black horns coming out from his head in a spiral form. My hands instantly went to them, caressing them and grabbing them tightly at their base, he groaned in response, rutting his hips even harder while his mouth played with one of my breasts despising the cotton fabric in between.

This man... this man has made me feel so much in just two days... feelings that I had never experienced before. I truly am in love with him. I...

“I love you, Jungkook.” I blurted out as I whimpered against his ear.

He stopped his movements, pushing me back a little in search of my eyes.

“What’s wrong? Did I said something bad?” I asked preoccupied.

“No, not at all. Just... surprised you said that.” He answered, still in awe.

“Why, though?” I chuckled, finally relaxing by his answer.

“I thought it was going to take you more time to say it... just that.”

“It’s weird for me too, believe it or not. But... it’s what I feel; for the first time in my life, I finally got to experience what falling in love is like because of you.” I gently placed my forehead on his as I spoke.

“I’ve tried dating various times, Jimin being an example of those. But... I think this whole time I was just waiting for you.” I sighed with a soft smile.

Jungkook’s lips connected with mine in an instant, giving me a quick but passionate kiss before speaking.

“I’m glad I got to be your first, one more time.” He smiled widely with stars in his eyes, connecting our lips once more but this time in a heated kiss.

Suddenly, knocks were heard on the door, gaining both of our attentions.

“Jimin, again?” I mumbled to myself.

“It’s not him, trust me.” He said lowly.

He moved me to the couch again, standing up as he walked into the hallway. “I’m just going to wait in your room while you attend your friend, I’ll just leave if she decides to stay, so don’t worry about it.”

She?” I repeated to him, but he had already disappeared into the direction of my room.

Maybe it’s Lixia. I guessed.

I went up to the door and opened it. And just as I thought, it was Lixia. As usual I greeted her with a warm smile, but my smile disappeared almost in an instant as soon as I noticed her eyes.

I grabbed her by her arm and pulled her inside, closing the door behind me.

“Lixia, are you ok? What happened?” I asked preoccupied as I whipped away the tears that continued to spill without hesitation from her eyes.

The way her eyes and nose were red and swollen, gave away the amount of hours she had spent crying beforehand. And that made my worry rise even more, knowing that whatever happened, must have had affected her deeply to the point of crying herself to sleep.

Her head then went to rest over my shoulder, sobbing uncontrollably as I embraced her with my arms, rubbing her back.

“I’m sorry I came here unannounced.” She said between sobs. “I knew you were on a date with Jimin but, I still came in hopes of finding you here.”

“You should’ve called, Lixia. You know damn well you and my mom are more important to me than anything else. And I know Jimin wouldn't mind either knowing the reason behind it; he cares for you too, you know?”

She pulled away, whipping her runny nose. “I know; sorry.”

“Now please tell me what happened.” I said as I lead her to the couch to sit together.

She pulled what seemed like a picture from her hoodie’s pocket, extending it to me for me to grab.

“What’s this?” I asked as I grabbed it.

“(Y/n)...” she took a deep breath, trying to compose herself.

“Seokjin isn’t my real father.” But as soon as she said that last sentence, the emotions came pouring again.

“What?!” I shouted, standing up from the couch.

I looked at the picture she had given me, my eyes momentarily scanning her mother who appeared to be pregnant with her at the time. My gaze then landed on the man who happily stood next to her, eyes widening and body becoming light as a feather as everything began to click into place.

That’s-

“His name is Jeon Jungkook.” Lixia spoke as she fiddled with a napkin she had taken out of her pocket.

“How- How did you find out?” I stuttered, trying my best to stay on my feet, but couldn’t so I sat down once again.

She scoffed. “My mom apparently thought it was a good idea to tell me a day after my birthday.”

“She came to me crying with that pic, telling me how sorry she was for lying to me about who my father was.” Lixia sniffled.

That woman really thinks an “I’m sorry” will fix everything, huh?

“And then continued to tell me the story of how all of this bullshit happened. It involving her having an affair with who I thought my entire fucking life was my father; makes me sick knowing I inherited his last name instead of my real father’s one.” She spat.

I guess that was the reason she was always so depressed... guilt had been eating her up all of those years.

“(Y/n)...” her voice broke as she looked into my eyes. “I feel like my entire life was a lie; the only real thing being you.”

“Please... never leave me.” She whimpered, teardrops falling one after the other.

“Never.” I quickly took her into my arms, pushing her head over my shoulder as she released all of the pain she had been enduring alone.

I kissed her head, caressing the back of it as I spoke into her ear. “I will always be here for you. And I promise you, you will get through this.”

As her sobs and loud whimpers filled the apartment, my focus then went into the direction of my room, remembering Jungkook was still there.

I need to talk to him. Lixia needs him now more than ever and I know she is going to accept him no matter what he sees himself as; I know her and I know her heart; she will love him, that is for sure.

“Lixia, wait right here while I go look for something to help you, ok?” I told her, it wasn’t the truth but it wasn’t a lie either. I had some Sedalia in my room for those days I happened to have anxiety attacks, that I knew were going to help her. But the actual reason I wanted to go there, was because I wanted to talk to Jungkook as soon as possible.

She nodded, leaving my embrace.

“I’ll be right back and I’ll make some tea afterwards.” I reassured her as I walked into the direction of my room.

Once I entered my room, I closed the door behind me. My eyes then trailing throughout the room in search of Jungkook.

“Jungkook...?” I called for him, but there was no response.

“Fuck, don’t tell me he left?” I mumbled.

But as I entered more the room, I saw something from the corner of my eye, laying on top of my bed.

It was a note with an orange tiger lily resting on top of it. I went to the edge of the bed, grabbing the folded note and reading it as I sat down.

(Y/n),

Thank you for choosing my daughter, and for doing what I didn’t have the courage to do for so long. I know how much the thought of forgetting scared you. And for that reason, I promise to take you to all the places I left our memories, so you can remember once again.

Thank you, my sun, for bringing color and warmth into my life. I truly believe you were made by the universe just for me. Even if it sounds selfish… I want to keep you all to myself, will you let me?

Please, never leave my side or my daughter’s. Because a future without you is a world without color.

- Jungkook

P.S. Also... please don’t go back to yesterday’s library... didn’t like the cashier guy.

I chuckled at the last sentence, causing the tears that were threatening to spill, fall. I placed the note down, picking up the tiger lily as I admired it’s beauty and scent.

“This guy… this guy is going to be the death of me.” I whispered to myself, giggling like a teenage girl crushing on a boy for the first time.

As I fondled with the flower’s petals, I took notice of what I wanted to do next. So I placed the flower back on the bed, promising to put it in water after this.

I went to the living room with the package of pills in my hand, finding Lixia touching the Tiger Lilies that Jimin had gifted me with curiosity.

I smiled, realizing she had stopped crying; making me sigh in relief.

“You like them?” I asked her, coming closer.

“It’s a weird-ass flower but I like it still.”

I laughed, shaking my head at her.

“Hey, Lixia.” I gained her attention.

“What?”

“Want to search for your father?”

Her eyes suddenly lit up, her chest rising as they did.

“Are you being serious?” She asked, hoping you weren’t bluffing.

I nodded, smiling at her puppy eyes. “I am.”

“You would actually help me find my father?”

“Why wouldn’t I? You are family to me. And I’m always going to chase after what is best for you, don’t you ever forget that.”

Tears formed in her eyes as her lips formed a toothy smile.

“I really was blessed by having you in my life, wasn’t I? Are you sure you are not my guardian angel?” She chuckled.

“Who knows?” I shrugged, embracing her in a hug as we both laughed in unison.

If Jungkook thought I was only going to take care of her, he was mad wrong.
