(Alternatively: In which Mia's friends [aka most of the university baseball team] decide to make a team effort of pushing her into Jaehyun's arms.)

Notes:

What's up, reader? This fic was inspired by NCT 127's baseball version of the dance practice to their song "Punch" because they look super good in baseball uniforms and it was a whole vibe. I started writing this a year ago and I thought it was time to finally post it to the internet for others to (hopefully) enjoy~

 

  I have a few things to note before you start reading~:

 
-The writing style consists of a mix of SNS chats and prose bc I love writing chat fics...but I also love writing regular prose! I don't advise skipping either the chat or prose chapters because the story runs in chronological order from chapter to chapter--exactly how it is listed in the chapter index~

-The chapter titles that contain emojis indicate chat chapters!

-This is based in the United States of 'Merica but many of them are Korean American, so there will be use of some Korean words

-Mia Lee (my OC) is Mark Lee's older sister by 3 years

-I changed the ages around a bit so that they could all be in college together so don't @ me

-In terms of who's in what grade, here's a list:

 

Seniors: Mia, Taeil, Seulgi;

Juniors: Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Ten, Doyoung (Dongyoung), Kun, Kang Daniel;

Sophomores: Jaehyun, Jungwoo;

Freshmen: Mark, Haechan (Donghyuck), Jeno, Renjun, Jaemin

 

-I didn't change Jaehyunnie's name to Yoonoh bc I just didn't 🤷🏽 even though I did change some of the other members' names to their legal names

-Mia, Taeil, Johnny, Doyoung, and Kun have been friends since high school

-Doyoung is not on the baseball team but he's definitely in the fic...again, don't @ me!!! I have nothing against him; that's just how I wrote it~

-Taeil is a student manager for the team, although he played during his earlier college years

-The rest of the baseball team consists of several Seventeen members but they're not important to the story so they're not really in it

-This is absolutely a silly harem story about my OC, haha! It's even mentioned in the fic because I thought it was funny

 

I think that just about covers everything that I needed to put in context! Idk how well received this will be because I'm not comfortable with writing in second person and using "Y/N" but I thought this would be a fun little read (not so little bc I've written a lot so far lol) to upload. Chapter 1: 👀 (Johnny’s scheming)

Johnny: alright, I’m bored. Let’s do something drastic

Johnny: like getting Jaehyun to go on a date with Mia noona 🤭

Taeil: That’s actually not a bad idea 🤔

Mia: *spits tea*

Mia: um, excuse me?! I’m literally over here minding my business wtf????

Kun: Well...I mean...you do like him, so wouldn’t this be a good thing?

Dongyoung: *pulls out notebook and starts drafting a plan*

Mia: @Kun i mean yeah, but like...that’s not the point here, is it????

Mia: if i wanted to get him to notice me, i would’ve already tried to get his attention

Johnny: …….

Kun: ……….. *pats Mia*

Taeil: lol

Dongyoung: *scratches head*

Mia: okay yeah i’m terrified of him lmao

Mia: but i’m like, peacefully terrified of him, ya know?

Kun: Yeah but why are you afraid of him?

Johnny: he’s literally one of the coolest dudes on the baseball team, and I mean it.

Johnny: he’s probably my only teammate that I’d be okay with you dating 🤷🏻

Johnny: and he and his gf have been broken up for like a month now

Johnny: aaaaaand me or Taeil hyung can easily influence him to look your way, soooooooo….

Taeil: Mia, as your dearest and most treasured friend, I say let us get Jae to notice you 🤷🏻

Dongyoung: It doesn’t get any easier than that, noona!

Mia: nnnooooooooooo I’m shy

Mia: plus, I need to focus on school and shit

Johnny: lolllll don’t pull that shit!!!!

Johnny: you were literally playing Skyrim in Taeil hyung’s room all weekend~~

Johnny: so you can’t pull the “school and shit” card

Dongyoung: 😂😂 She was????? I should have stopped by to watch

Taeil: she’s getting so much better but I suspect that she changed the difficulty level to novice while I was at practice 🤔

Kun: She probably did hahahahah

Mia: look, those frickin dragons and ice wraiths were kicking my ass, okay?

Dongyoung: yeah, ice wraiths are a bitch because you can barely see them

Mia: exactly 😭

Mia: and don’t get me started on those goddamn dwarven spiders and falmers in that one mission 😭😭😭😭😭

Taeil: Lmaoooo she was getting obliterated every 5 seconds 🤣

Dongyoung: Ooooof yeah those are rough…

Johnny: Back

Mia: oh right, sorry

Dongyoung: 😂
