Smitten

Summary:

The room was quiet, except for the sound of chirping birds carrying in through the open window. A pleasant weight anchoring him to the plush bed. For another moment he decided to keep his eyes closed, going against everything he was used to and instead of immediately getting up as soon as he was awake, he allowed himself to simply stay right next to.
After all, Jumin had nowhere to go. No responsibilities, no meetings, no work... Just time spent with his now wife.
"Wife...", he murmured quietly under his breath, smiling involuntarily at the thought.
Just in that moment, a beam of sunlight carried in through the swaying curtains, illuminating and highlighting the golden band on your finger perfectly.

Notes:

Damn, I really should upload my fics here as well and not only on tumblr... oops :'D
Anyway! I am just really a sucker for soft Jumin and this is the result of some brainrot :3

Work Text:

Without really thinking about his next actions, he reached out to take the hand that rested on his chest, lifting it up until his lips could press a kiss to the ring.
It still felt a little surreal that you two were actually married. That despite everything, you said yes to him and now you were on your honeymoon. But oh, he was more than just happy about it. Although there were also occasions where he couldn't help but wonder how he got so lucky to call you his. That you stayed by his side through everything, supporting him. Giving him the love he never knew he needed or wanted.
Until you came into his life. Stubbornly staying, even when he made mistakes. When he tried to better himself for you and become the husband you deserved. You were always at his side through everything.
His calm anchor, his safe haven. The one who easily managed to recharge his batteries with those warm hugs and little pecks you always showered his face with when you noticed how tired he was.

His fingertips began to absent-mindedly draw idle shapes on your bare shoulder and back. Occasionally playing with a strand of your hair. Lips pressed to your temple and forehead every now and then.
As much as he was used to getting up early and using majority of the day to be productive, he couldn't deny that staying in bed with you was a nice change of pace. He loved watching you sleep. The calm and relaxed expression you had. The way your lips were parted ever so slightly, your warm breath ghosting over his skin.
But as much as he liked studying your features, recalling them to memory for the times he had to be away on business, his eyes always ended up being glued to your lips. Those soft lips that said the sweetest words, that robbed him of all coherent thoughts as soon as they moved against his own. In a way that made it feel like it was meant to be. Like you two were meant for each other, fitting together perfectly like two puzzle pieces.

While he didn't want to wake you, it was near impossible to resist the temptation in his arms. And as if you sensed his internal struggle, you began to stir, letting out quiet, sleepy noises as your eyes blinked a couple times, slowly adjusting to the morning light. Jumin didn't hesitate long, already shifting a little to be able to lean in for a gentle kiss. Heart fluttering as you not only returned, but also smiled into it. It should've been illegal for one woman to be so adorable...
"Good morning, my love", he murmured lowly, voice still a little hoarse from not speaking ever since he woke up.
"Good morning indeed", you hummed as you simply crawled fully on top of him, his arms quickly enveloping you in a tight embrace.
Yes, slow mornings with you could indeed become his favorite. He'd have to make sure to plan some days accordingly to have more of them in the future.

"How did you sleep, Mrs Han?"
The wide smile you aimed at him made his breath hitch. Once again it became nearly painfully obvious that you were the most beautiful woman existing. Even with your disheveled hair and slightly puffy eyes. No matter what, to him you would always be a goddess, easily rivaling the beauty of Aphrodite herself.
"Mhm, I slept very well. What about you, Mr Han?"
"I always sleep well when I have you right next to me."
It wasn't even a lie. On more than one occasion was he tempted to throw his own decision over board and have you move in before the wedding. For the sole selfish purpose of getting to have you in his arms every single night. He'd quickly gotten so used to it that every night you weren't with him was not only lonely, the bed feeling way too big, but he also wasn't as well rested.

For a while, he didn't know how long exactly, you two just gazed at each other, interrupted by lazy kisses that eventually grew a bit more passionate over time. His lips moving along your jawline, down your neck, where he left a little mark by nipping on the tender flesh. Tongue darting out afterwards to soothe the spot.
"Jumin!", you exclaimed with a giggle, shoving his shoulder half-heartedly. Your reaction drawing a small chuckle from him as well.
He would've been perfectly content to just spent more hours with you all snuggled up to him. Showing and reminding you of how much he loved you in every way possible. Though one thing that was always the most important to him was your well-being. Which was why he, if a little reluctant, sat up with you, fingers stroking through your hair again in an attempt to smooth them down as good as possible.

"Now, how about I make my gorgeous wife some pancakes for breakfast while she makes coffee for us?"
"You have yourself a deal, but only if they'll be strawberry pancakes~"
Jumin's expression softened, thinking back to the first time he made them for you, all the things that had happened ever since... You two had come such a long way together. And who was he to deny you anything anyway? He'd get you the moon, if you so desired.
"Anything you want", he whispered and just couldn't help but lean in for another kiss. Your fingers weaving into his black hair as you returned it.
The both of you finally managed to get out of bed, him helping you into your morning robe. Feeling your eyes on him while he prepared the batter. And once he began pouring it into the pan, your arms wrapped around his middle. With you pressed close to his back, it was without a doubt a perfect start into the day. Making him all the more curious and excited for what was yet to come.
