“Lucifer! Mammon stole a figurine of mine again!” I could hear Levi scream into the hall while I watched some DevilTube in my room.
Throwing my phone to the side, I groaned as I swung open my door. “I did not! Ya can search through my entire room as proof!”
Levi spotted me and matched to the front of my door frame. “You sold it!?”
“Why the hell would I do that!?” I lightly shoved him back.
My brother gasped before shoving me harder. “That was worth 5 grand! That's why!”
“MAMMOOONNN.” Came from the side.
I yipped and slowly looked up.
Lucifer stood tall and ferm with his arms crossed, giving me a dark glare as if he was trying to use laservision to cut my head off. “What's going on here?”
“Lucifer! My dearest brother! How's your day been?” I couldn't help but bow before him.
Leviathan pulled me from our brother before shoving a finger into my face. “He stole and sold one of my newest fringerines!”
Lucifer’s dark aura intensified. “You what?”
I placed a hand on my chest to help myself stand my ground. “Look, it was just sittin’ there all lonely like. I just had to find it a new home with a lovin’ owner.”
“She was happy with me as I was going to love her till the end of time with all my other figurines!” Levi got all up in my face again.
I couldn't help but growl in return. “So it's a her now! I didn't know nonlivin’ things had vaginas and genders!”
Spit flew out of my mouth as a hand hit the back of my head. A wine followed when I placed my hands on the injury.
“Mammon, you better get Levi’s figurine back or give him ALL the money you sold it for.” Lucifer gripped my chin so as I was forced to hear every word he uttered.
“What!?” I took my head back and tended to my chin. “That's no fair! I finally got enough money to pay my bills and you want me to get back into debt!?”
“It's not my problem you spend every dollar bill you come across.” Lucifer shot back.
I huffed as I started reaching my breaking point. Steam even came out of my nose in anger.
Wait, steam, oh fuck.
“Fine, just leave me alone!” I marched to my room and slammed the door before locking it.
Sitting on the floor, I could hear Levi pound my door. “Get back here, you ass!”
“Levi. Leave him alone for now.” Lucifer's muffled voice told him off. “You don't know what he's planning.”
“Yes I do! He's probably dancing in there thinking that he's getting off scott free and planning on stealing more of my shit!” I covered my ears to shut out all my stress.
“Levi, I'm not repeating myself.” My older brother finished before walking away, using one of his most effective ways of shutting down anymore arguments.
My head gently bumped the door behind me as Levi stormed back to his room. I slowed my breathing to force relaxation to my veins. I needed to calm down to keep the house from burning to the ground.
“Electro has gained control of the subway system and has us locked out. Assume that every train car you see has at least five to ten passengers.”
My police scanner informed me of a new problem going down.
I smirked as I stood up. “Guess I don' have to meditate to get rid of my stress. I always wanted to try using a punchin’ bag.”
---
My fire left a trail of smoke and heat in my wake as I used it to catch up with the speeding train car. The flames almost made a perfect parallel to my now red roots and tainted white hair.
The passengers all had panicked looks on their faces as the car continued to zoom up to who knows where. One of the victims looked out the window and pointed at me. “Look! It's Cinder! He's come to save us!”
They excited everyone else and I couldn't help but give them a wave with a friendly flash of my teeth. I loved the adrenalin rush I got from the screams of joy people gave at my presence. It made me feel needed. It made me feel wanted. It made me feel like a hero.
“Oh look who decided to come and stop me.” I was greeted by my nemesis, Electro, when I jumped onto the car using my fire as rockets. I could feel the sass oozing from her voice while she stood like a goddess with her arms crossed. “I honestly was getting bored of playing with those toy cops.”
I let out a small laugh as I met with the villain of my story. “I'm honored that ya waited for little o’ me.”
Electro gave a small, dismissive wave of her hand. “Please, I doubt anyone else has the patience to deal with you but me.”
I pretended to recoil back in pain by gripping my chest and pulling on the uniform. “Ouch. I can never tell which hurts more, your lightenin’ or your tongue.”
She swung her hips like a hula dancer and tapped her fingers along them, generating F/C lightning to match the contrast color of her skin tight suit. “How about we see which hurts more then.”
I blocked a punch and sent a knee to her stomach. Electro coughed and bit me back, causing a few of my nerves to spasm.
A hiss left my teeth as I backed off. The hiss turned to fire and I pointed it right at Elecro’s feet. She jumped off the now hot medal and onto my back, hooking a leg onto my shoulder and the other around my chest for support.
“Damnit, didn' know you liked me that much.” My hands took her cafs and flung her backwards towards the edge. I was overly thankful of my mask hiding my now red face.
Electro freaked out while she slid off head first but quickly caught herself on an open window with her legs and lifted her much too long H/C hair away from the wheels. She shot me a glare through her helmet and disappeared into the train.
I patiently waited for her to come out the other side by staring at my nonexistent watch. “Good, yer back. I was startin’ to get worried.”
She gave a loud tisked and started another fistfight.
Everytime I tried to send her more fire, Electro casted it to the side with more lightning. The only thing I could always count on as an advantage point was her beautiful hair.
I grabbed the desaturated F/C ends of the water like H/C hair and riffly pulled it and forced her to look me in the eyes. Honestly, I was so surprised that she didn't cut it yet.
“Stop the train, Electro.” I plainly stated.
Electro smiled before spitting into my face. “Why?”
Her hair just so happened to get pulled harder. “Because there are real, livin’ people in this here car. They have lives outside of yours and mine. One of them probably was your cashier and complemented your lawline once. Maybe someone else loved the color of your eyes and was way too shy to say such a thin’ to such a narcissistic bitch.”
A foot found my pelvis and I let go of her hair and fell to my side. “Like you get to say that my eyes are a nice color. The only part of my face you can see are my electric lips. As for you, I can see everything. You only neglect to show me how everythings connected with that silly little mask of yours.”
The bitch got so high looking down at me as I still got electric pulses to my lower abs. Her smirk turned to fear and she turned to a lightning bolt and jumped into the train’s wires and traveled to the tracks.
I looked to where the train was going and flattened myself to the roof as everything went dark in a tunnel.
I huffed and slid to the back end. As the tension lifted from my body, I grabbed the handle bars. My body fell off the end and I was desperately gripping the door to not fall further.
Everyone on the inside gave me a look of desperation and fear. I was the only hope for them as of right now. They were counting on me to save them from Electro.
I couldn't help but smile at them in reachurence.
Light came back and I flipped over the edge to stand back on the top where Electro was facing me again.
“I did not appreciate you pulling my hair.” She looked up at me with a gremas on her face.
I frowned back at her. “And I didn' like gettin’ shocked.”
We proceeded to engage in hand to hand combat. Both of us knew that at this closeness, our powers are worthless. We'd just cast the other hand to the side or jump out of the way. Electro also had her hair more protected from my greedy hands.
Both of our heads snapped downwards as some young kid screamed and pointed through the conductor’s window.
“Fuck!” I ran forwards and looked at the track below. The train raced right into another one coming at us at the same speed. If they crashed, most inside each would die instantly and hurt and kill onlookers in the streets by showering them with the debris.
Electro summoned lightning and steered the car into the intercession like a horse. The car wobbled as it just missed its friend and our doom.
I wobbled with the car as it slowed at a dead end in a station. In fact, I wobbled so much that I bumped right into Electro, pinning her down with my chest to her back.
“Get off me.” She pushed herself upwards and I simply followed, still sitting behind her. Electro glanced down at the train station she parked in and saw all the guns pointed at her.
The police chief took a step forwards with his gun to his side, indicating his complete trust in his men and my powers. “Electro, we have you surrounded. Please stop all control over the subway system and give it to us or you're not going to have a very good time.”
“So, is this the end of the road or are you goin’ to run again?” I couldn't help but gloat by cupping her cheek from behind and whispering into her ear.
“Fuck off.” She turned back into electricity and started swimming in the exposed wires in the wall.
I jumped off the roof and melted the door hinge before prying it open. I helped escort the victims off as I talked to the police. “Can someone scan the perimeter? Thank you for your patience. We need to find Electro before we have any casualties or serious injuries. You were very brave today. We also need to get her to stop all the other trains.”
“Excuse me, Cinder, sir. It looks like we don't need to have her stop the trains. They all stopped audmadicly but we are still offline from any control of the system.” One of the police told me.
“Well shit man, if that's the case, I think she can go for now.” I theorized. “If there's no danger right now, I'd rather save resources for gettin’ everyone out of every train if she decides to start things up again. Do keep an eye out for her though.”
I received bows from the police force. “Of course. On behalf of the city, once again, we thank you.”
I smiled and bowed before them in return. “You're welcome, it was a pleasure.”
Letting out another smile to the crowd, I used my fire to race back home.
---
“Hey, Levi.” I growled as I approached him.
He turned to me and gave a tisk. “What do you want, Stupidhead.”
I faced the floor as I pulled a check out of my pocket. “I'm sorry for sellin’ your ugly toy-doll-thing. I don’t have an excuse or reason, it was stupid of me. I'm really sorry.”
Even though I wasn't facing him, I could feel Levi’s shock. He even tried talking but nothing came out of his mouth.
My face turned as hot as Cinder’s fire and I stood back up. “Why are you just standin’ there? If you don't take it right now I'm goin’ to take it back!”
Levi still refused to move or close his mouth so I opted to shove the check into his mouth and run away.
