Chapter Text
Inside the restaurant, at a table against the center of the back wall, Zico is silently listening to the rantings of the owner while they wait.
"I don't understand why I should keep paying your gang, and I've never once seen your so called boss. Why should I believe such a person exists, and your not just-"
"Oh my god, shut the fuck up!" One of the guards shouted annoyed, "Your getting what you want but do you have to talk until they get here?"
The restaurant owner went silent and sat back with a huff. Zico gave the guard a look of warning to calm down then checked his watch, he just needed to wait a little longer.
**1hr later**
It was dinner time so the restaurant had gotten a little busier by time the red 2-door sports car pulled up in the parking lot. Two young boys still in their school uniforms stepped out of the parked car, eliciting many stares from the restaurants customers. The boy with green highlights in his hair sat on the trunk of the car and stuck a lollipop in his mouth. While the other stood next to him after switching out his school jacket for a dark green one.
They stood there waiting for about five minutes, when a black car identical to theirs pulled up next to them. A boy with mint green hair and a girl with curly black hair stepped out of the car. The four students greeted each other enthusiastically, then made their way towards the entrance of the restaurant. Customers watched curiously as the four made their way to the back of the restaurant, ignoring the workers who were telling them they weren't allowed back there.
"ZICO!!" The boy in the green jacket greeted happily.
"Hey Hoseok" Zico responded back, standing up, before nodding in greeting to the boy with the lollipop "Taehyung, I see you changed your hair"
Taehyung just shrugged in response before sitting in the chair next to Hoseok and putting his feet up on the table. Zico turned to the other two and bowed, as they sat on the opposite side of the table, greeting them by name respectfully.
"Mr. Yoongi. Ms. Hawon. How was school?"
"Ugh, drop the formalities Zico. You know I hate that." Hawon sighed,
"And being school president is stressful as fuck. And stress makes me hungry." She finished, laying her head on the table.
"I don't know why your so stressed when you make me do everything" Yoongi chuckled at her, "But my day wasn't that bad, even though I'm an under appreciated treasurer" he answered with a hint of teasing in his voice, earning him a hit from Hawon.
Zico just smiled at them as he turned to one of the guards telling him to get food for the four teenagers, not forgetting the comment about being hungry.
"What the hell is going on" the restaurant owner finally asked, confused "Who the hell are they, and where is your so called boss that I'm suppose to be meeting?"
He yelled at Zico, "How long does he expect to keep me waiting? I have a restaurant to run."
He finished angrily, slamming his fist on the table causing silence to fall on everyone who hadn't left the restaurant, when the four teenagers arrived, sensing trouble.
"Your not doing a very good job" Taehyung spoke for the first time since entering the restaurant.
"Excuse me?" The owner asked averting his eyes from Zico to look at the boy.
"Running the restaurant, your not doing a very good job" Taehyung clarified with a straight face, looking at the man who was now glaring at him.
"Your employees are rude, slow, and not very good look-"
He was cut off by the owner grabbing him by the shirt collar and pulling him out of the chair, "Watch your mouth kid" the man said through gritted teeth.
Taehyung calmly took the lollipop out of his mouth before saying "This isn't really helping your case" and then smiling mockingly at him.
The tension around the table was interrupted by waiters bringing the food that the guard had ordered earlier. The owner dropped the boy back into the chair and turned to Zico annoyed. He was about to say something when Yoongi spoke up,
"Is this what you called us here for Zico? So our friends can be harrassed" he asked seriously, as he started eating.
The owner watched as Zico apologized, when realization hit him.
"Wait" he said wide eyed, making everyone look at him expectantly, "Your boss sent his kids? Why couldn't he come on his own?"
The room went silent for what felt like five minutes before Hoseok spoke up after finishing a bite of his food "Your not very bright, are you?"
"What's that supposed to mean?" The owner asked offended, and clearly not getting the message.
"Your a fucking idiot" the guard who had yelled at the owner earlier said, from where he was leaning against the wall.
"They are the gang bosses" He said pointing at Yoongi and Hawon, who looked very unamused by the whole situation.
"That's strike two" Zico said sternly, looking the guard directly in the eye, silencing him successfully.
Then the owner started laughing, like he just heard the funniest joke in the world.
"That's it, I'm waiting in the car. I can't do this anymore" the guard said before walking out, unable to handle the ignorance of the restaurant owner any longer. Causing Taehyung and Hoseok to laugh at his annoyance, and Zico to just sigh loudly.
Once the owner came down from his laughing high, and saw everyone watching him intently, he realized they were serious.
"Really?" He asked Zico "T-there your bosses? But their high schoolers"
"You shouldn't assume things based on age" Yoongi said, now looking at the owner
"Or gender" Hawon interjected, glaring, making sure to point out the owners biased assumption.
"We should just get rid of this place and build that lamb skewer restaurant Kookie wants" Hoseok spoke up thoughtfully, as he looked around, ignoring the still in shock owner.
"Yeah" Taehyung agreed "I'm sure the revenue from that would be better, and-"
"What? They can't do that, this is my family's place" the owner said finally catching up to the conversation
"I own it" he finished feeling confident.
"Actually they own it, just like everything else in this city" Taehyung said as he finished off his lollipop,
"You were just allowed to use it because you were bringing in business"
"But it seems business isn't doing so great since you can't pay us your dues" Hawon jumped in.
Finally realizing the situation, the owners voice was shaky when he responded "I j-just need a little more time, this month wasn't v-very busy"
"You've already had a two month extension" Zico answered calmly, pinching the bridge of his nose
"You can't expect them to keep losing money because you want to keep your family business"
Yoongi spoke up then, and asked the owner, "Do you have kids?"
"Yes, three sons" the owner answered quickly
"How old are they?"
"My two oldest are in their 20's and my youngest is 14" the owner responded a little confused about the question.
"Hmmm," Yoongi hummed then turned to Hawon and asked "That's a year younger than Kookie, but what do you think?"
"I'm not sure. Kookie isn't the most patient and he'd have to teach him" she responded seriously.
"Well we have Jin, and plus he'll have to learn patience eventually" Yoongi countered.
"Your right, but Jin won't like this" she said apprehensively.
"True" Yoongi agreed "But we'll work something out. He can't stay mad forever"
"I guess it's settled then. I'll let Minnie know" Hawon said as she pulled out her phone.
"Wait, what's settled? What are you guys talking about?" The owner asked frantically.
Yoongi brought his attention back to the owner "Your youngest is now part of BTS, and you get to keep your little restaurant,” he paused
“we'll have someone pick him up from your home on Saturday." He finished matter of factly, as he stood up to leave
"Zico will explain everything to you, and I wouldn’t try anything rash if I were you" Yoongi finished ready to walk out.
"W-What!? But today's Thursday, can't you at least give us a week?" The man asked desperately, falling to his knees as Yoongi and Hawon passed him without a word.
"The King has spoken" Taehyung said in his best dramatic movie voice as he approached the owner,
"Shut up, and eat another lollipop" Hoseok sighed hitting the back of his head as he passed him
"Ow!! I was just trying to lighten the mood" Taehyung pouted as he quickly followed the rest out the door. The owner watched in shock as he was left with Zico, wondering how he was going to tell his family that to keep the restaurant they would have to make a serious sacrifice.
