Work Text:

Little George had a habit of doodling. George himself wasn't really sure how or when it started, but Dream remembered.

The brunette had stumbled into his room while he was editing, and he really needed to edit. So when George got a little antsy, Dream thought it would be brilliant to give him one of his sticky note pads and a pen.

Dream had a habit of using sticky notes— and lots of them. They were all over his desk, covering his monitor as a reminder to do various things. Sometimes they’d be stuck onto old water bottles or his PC, telling him to throw out his trash or reminder to actually shut down the device before he went to bed.

So he had a plethora of them, in various colors too. The first time he hastily grabbed one for George with a pen he never expected the brunette to love it so much, but things happened he supposed. George’s favorites were the blue ones of course since he could see the color normally, but he still loved the different colors too.

Sometimes when George was feeling little he’d sneak into Dream’s room to snatch a sticky note or two. But more times than not he’d get distracted and sit there for an hour doodling different things and going through half of the pad.

Even better, he doodled things for his boyfriends. The first time Dream went to work on something and found one he almost cried.

A neon green sticky note stuck messily to the middle of his monitor. Drawn in a blue pen were two stick figures with happy faces, one was slightly shorter than the other. Above the tall one was written “daddy” and the shorter one “me”. Everyone knew George had bad handwriting before, but little George was terrible. The letters truly looked like a kindergartner wrote them, but that simply made it cuter. Dream carefully had taken the drawing and left it in his desk drawer so it would stay protected from any unwarranted spills of water.

Days would go by and more would appear. Drawings adored with simple hearts, little stars, and even an “I LOVE U!” were slowly added to his collection. Dream loved every single one.

It was brought to all their attention when Sapnap came to Karl and Dream with one of his own, the youngest was grinning and rambling about how “This is the cutest thing ever” to the two while they agreed and shared what collection they had received, while George simply didn’t remember ever gifting them.

The next time Dream was low on sticky notes— definitely because of George —when he went out to buy some more he ended up coming home with too many different colors and a small pack of Crayola markers. They ended up neatly tucked in his desk drawer where they used to reside, while the ones he would actually use had moved to a different one so George wouldn’t steal them.

Dream rushed to show Sapnap and Karl the first time he got a drawing made from the markers, a shakily done version of his blob avatar. The other two happily shared the ones they received later in the week.

Another thing little George liked to do was draw on the shopping list. Whenever he wanted a snack or more strawberry milk, (even though Sapnap always bought him some whenever he went out), the brunette would stand on his tiptoes and steal the list, and twenty minutes later a little (poorly) drawn strawberry milk or goldfish would appear.

Nobody was aware of it until Dream’s mom had called while doing their shopping, utterly confused.

“Clay, what’s this on here? I can’t tell,” Dream was confused about what she wouldn’t understand, all of their handwriting was legible and they never asked for anything bizarre.

“Uh, what?”

“It’s a drawing, one is obviously a fish but I don’t know what that means, and I can’t tell what the other thing is…” Drawing?

“Can you send me a picture? I’ll ask the boys.” She’d agreed and sent him a photo after she hung up.

Dream adored the little drawing under their list, he knew it was George’s. The brunette was busy at the moment, so he went down to find Karl instead.

“Karl, you speak child. The fuck is this?”

“That’s obviously goldfish and strawberry milk, nimrod.” Dream stood for a moment and squinted at the photo. Obviously? He shook his head and muttered thanks, then replied to his mom what the drawing meant.

George didn’t know his boyfriends were keeping all of his little doodles, let alone the fact he was even gifting them.

The time he found out he was extremely embarrassed though.

“I’m going to grab a water,” George hummed as he stood from the couch, he and Karl had been playing Mario Party together while Sapnap and Dream were on some stream.

“Can you grab my card from my wallet while you’re in there so I can order the pizza? My card info didn't save,” Karl called as he rolled the dice, Luigi started to move across the screen.

“Sure.”

Karl’s wallet was on the counter, when George opened it he didn’t expect a sticky note to fall out, he picked it up to slide it back in. Pink dusted his cheeks at the realization of what it was.

It was a purple color, and on it was written “LOVE U!” with various colored hearts surrounding it, each one having a little smiley face. The bottom was signed “George”, he shook his head. As he went to hastily stuff it in he noticed it wasn’t the only one in there, around ten of them were all neatly pressed with Karl’s MCC coin which he took everywhere, which meant he took them everywhere too.

George quickly grabbed the card and his water before going back, cheeks still flushed and lip bitten.

“Thank you!” Karl cheerily took the card and kissed the brunette’s cheek, he said nothing in return while he took his turn at the game.

After a decent amount of silence, he turned to Karl.

“Do I draw for you?” Karl cocked his head and grinned.

“All the time.” George groaned.

“That’s so embarrassing.”

“No, it’s cute,” Karl shrugged, “We love them.”

We?

“Yes, we. Sapnap gets so excited whenever he finds one, he has to show us immediately. Dream always asks about it too, I swear he’d already spent so much on sticky notes and markers for you.”

“Oh my God…” George hid his face in his hands, Karl laughed at him.

“It’s cute! We keep them all, mine are in my wallet. Wanna see?”

“I saw,” he whined, Karl only kept smiling.

“I mean it. Little George loves it so much, although Dream’s mom can’t understand them…”

“His mom?!”

“My mom called me the other day to ask what was on the shopping list,” The blonde interrupted as he entered the room, Sapnap followed closely behind. They all laughed at his embarrassment. “Karl’s right though, it’s adorable. Please don’t stop giving them to us.”

George whined about it all night, but they were delighted the next day when another appeared on each of their desks.

And maybe, it was worth it when George started to find little “I love you” notes stuck to his strawberry milk or “hey cutie ;)” stuck to the bathroom mirror.
