The Truth Untold

Summary:

Seokjin is a college professor.

Taehyung is his overly flirtatious and obnoxious student that desperately wants to get into his pants.

Notes:

Even though Taehyung is of legal age according to US standards, I believe in Korea its 20 so I tagged underage.

Hoseok and Tae are the same age here, so no honorifics will be used between them.

Also there is 7 years between them, so if you have a problem with that or with the fact that Taehyung is a college student then THIS FIC ISN'T FOR YOU.

Chapter Text

teacher

It was a new day and Seokjin was relaxed, refreshed and ready to start the new semester. He's been a college English Professor for the last 4 years and absolutely loves his job. There was no better feeling in the world than helping young adults learn and grow and knowing he has a part in shaping their futures.

Seokjin is one of the best teachers on campus and his students love him. Typically students barely get to know their professors but Seokjin had a certain flair to his teaching style. He had a natural charm and charisma that everyone was drawn to; and many of the students had raging crushes on him.

He’s usually upbeat and fun and there isn't a lot that can put him in a sour mood. But as soon as he sees the name on his roster of students he can feel his temperature rising.

Kim Taehyung.

Seokjin doesn't personally know Taehyung but he has a reputation around the school and it’s not a good one. The 19 year old is already known around campus for being rowdy and charming and full of drama. It doesn’t help matters that he’s the son a pretty wealthy benefactor for the school, so mostly everyone knows his name... His father was a previous student who started his own company and earned a reputation back in the day.

Taehyung is one of the more popular kids on campus… exceptionally bright, but doesn't apply himself. Extremely attractive, and knows it. And worst of all, he craves attention. And he's attached at the hip to his best friend Jung Hoseok. There are further rumors circling that he and Hoseok are in some sort of relationship and seeing them interact, it’s very easy to believe, but Seokjin tries his hardest not to judge a book by its cover. It's almost impossible not to though, based on the things that he's heard from the other teachers about him.

Taehyung dresses very differently from everyone else on campus. There is no dress code, but Taehyung always manages to show up looking like a freaking model. It doesn’t help him blend in. But that’s probably not even what he wants.

Most students are able to fly through college mostly unseen. They come to class, they do their work (most of it online), and they rarely even have to interact with their teachers. But the campus isn't very big. And Seokjin’s classes are smaller than average, making it much easier for him to get to know all his students better.

If Teahyung is being talked bout to this extent already, then he must be trouble.

Taehyung walks into the room with a glint in his eye and a smirk on his face and Seokjin can tell before class even starts that this semester is going to be more than he bargained for.

Taehyung makes his way to the back of the class and takes a seat next to some friends of his. The bell rings and most of the students are quieting down but Taehyung continues to engage in conversation, everyone eating up every word of whatever story he’s telling.

Seokjin tells the class to quiet down and the rest of the students look at Seokjin, including Taehyung who is staring at him intently. Seokjin immediately tries to focus his attention elsewhere, and he’s thankful that Taehyung is sitting the furthest away.

Seokjin introduces himself to everyone and gives the students their first assignment, which is to write down something about themselves that people don’t know. He gives them an 8 minute time period to do so. Things are going well until about 3 minutes in when Taehyung raises his hand. Seokjin is tempted to just ignore him but he thinks better of it and calls on him.

“Yes?” Seokjin asks tentatively, already expecting the worst. And it’s for good reason because Taehyung is smiling at him cheekily and biting his lip.

“Can we write about something personal?”

It’s a fairly innocent question but the way that Taehyung is asking it feels inappropriate somehow and Seokjin contemplates how to proceed. Originally he was planning to have the students read their responses out loud, but maybe that’s not the best idea.

“Sure.” Seokjin responds, trying to keep things casual. “I’ll be the only one reading them, so write about whatever you want.”

He addressed the last part to all the students but catches a feint smirk on Taehyung’s face as he begins writing.

After the time is up Seokjin gathers the papers and hastily grabs Taehyung’s from him. When he does so, Taehyung intentionally brushes his fingers against Seokjin’s, looking up at him with his big brown eyes and licking his lips in a way that feels charged.

Once again Seokjin tries to ignore it, but it’s extremely difficult not to feel something. Taehyung is ridiculously attractive, more so up close, and Seokjin tries desperately hard to will these thoughts away.

The rest of the day seems to go okay until about the last ten minutes or so. Seokjin gives the students the rest of the class period to chat quietly until the bell rings. Normally he wouldn’t allow so much free time, but it was the first day back and he wanted to take things easy on them.

Seokjin’s working on something on his computer for his next class when he’s startled by Taehyung, who is now standing in front of him, fingers clenched to the desk.

“So, are the rumors true?”

Seokjin wonders if he heard correctly.

“Excuse me?” He asks, unsure of where this is going.

“The rumors…” Taehyung says quieter, leaning in a little closer so that only Seokjin can here. “You know? About you?”

Taehyung is completely vague but Seokjin knows exactly what Taehyung is referring to.

Taehyung is implying the rumors about Seokjin dating men. Which, of course are true, but he had no idea that this information was circulating again.

Not that it was anyone’s business or that anyone should care, but Seokjin wanted to keep his private life private and he certainly wasn’t planning to talk to a student about this. Let alone a student like Taehyung who was clearly trying to push his buttons.

“I think you should take your seat.” Seokjin says firmly, ignoring the question. Taehyung smirks, like he knows something, then looks like he’s about to say something else, to challenge him, but Seokjin keeps his gaze strong and Taehyung eventually gives up and turns around.

He’s a fucking teenager, Seokjin repeats to himself as he walks back to his seat, trying desperately hard not to watch him as he goes.

Seokjin’s been attracted to his fair share of students in the past few years, any teacher would be lying if they said they hadn’t. After all, he was only seven years older than most of them. But he’s never once acted on that attraction, or even let himself think too much about it. But there was something weirdly enticing about Taehyung that he couldn’t quite place. He just hoped the annoying feeling in his gut would go away soon.

Seokjin’s been up all night reading these boring student essays. It’s his own fault for getting started so late. It was his friend Ed's birthday today and he went out for drinks earlier and didn’t even arrive back at his house until 11pm. He usually tries to get to bed before midnight if possible but he can already tell it's going to be a late night. Seokjin skims through most of them, reading only bits and pieces. They don’t have to be graded, but Seokjin prides himself in his work and he wants to be a good teacher and read them all. He wants his students to respect him and appreciate him, so he’d like to at least know a little bit about what each of them had to say on their first day.

His heart does this really ridiculous jump when he gets to Taehyung’s paper, which he knows is completely wrong and just… stupid, but he can’t help it, he’s curious.

He should have expected it. Should have seen it coming.

The paper is filthy.

It goes into extreme detail over Taehyung’s first sexual experience. In the paper Taehyung references losing his virginity at 16, which would have been over three years ago. It’s actually not terribly young for a teenage boy, Seokjin expected as much based on the things he’s heard. Apparently, Taehyung had sex for the first time in the back of a car, which also doesn’t really surprise him.

The topic of the paper was to write about something people didn’t know about. Taehyung relates this to his paper by stating that most people assume he’s been sexually active with his best friend Hoseok, and even thought Hoseok had been in first kiss, they had never been intimate. In actuality, he lost it to a much older man; at least according to this paper.

It’s so wrong and inappropriate and Seokjin wonders if it’s even true or if Taehyung just made it up to mess with him.

Either way, he shouldn’t be reading it, but Seokjin can’t really help himself as he looks over the page quite a few times before finally crumpling it up and throwing it away. He’s technically supposed to keep all of the assignments, but this one isn’t graded anyway.

The responsible thing for him to do as a teacher would be to take the paper to the school and report the issue, but Seokjin doesn’t really want to get Taehyung in trouble. Deep down it may even be what he wants. He’s clearly looking for attention, so Seokjin decides the best course of action is to just completely ignore it. He won’t even address it in class.

The entire rest of the night his mind keeps wandering back to the little details on the page. As he lays in bed thoughts of Taehyung spread out in the back of a car with some older man 'pounding' into him (Taehyung’s words) replay over and over again, as much Seokjin tries to will them away. This all is all Taehyung’s fault. Taehyung’s egging him on. He wouldn’t normally be thinking these things about a student.

At least, that’s what Seokjin keeps telling himself.

The next day when Seokjin gets to class Taehyung strolls in and cheekily asks if Seokjin enjoyed reading his paper. Seokjin tries his hardest not to let his face flush red and he’s able to keep his composure.

“Everyone’s papers were really insightful.” He responds with little emotion and turns away from him, brushing it off completely and leaving Taehyung frustrated that he presumably couldn’t get more of a reaction from him.

Other than that, things go okay with Taehyung for that first week, there’s a few flirtatious comments and snide remarks thrown here and there but for the most part he’s not causing too much trouble and Seokjin thinks that maybe he’s earned some respect from Taehyung for not confronting him about his behavior.

But of course that belief is short lived when on Friday, Taehyung brings a sucker to class and very obviously twirls it around his tongue and pulls it in and out of his mouth obscenely during Seokjin’s lecture. Candy isn’t technically allowed during class but Seokjin usually lets it slide. He’s not sure he can put up with Taehyung’s behavior much longer though, every time he looks over Taehyung is using his tongue very suggestively and just gazing at Seokjin and he can’t take it for much longer. It’s causing a very bad reaction out of Seokjin that he cannot allow. He’s hidden behind his desk and no one can see the very obvious hard on that’s developing in his pants but if he needs to stand later on, that could pose a problem.

“Kim Taehyung,” Seokjin speaks out suddenly, hoping that his voice elicits composure, “Can you please throw that away? No candy allowed during class hours.”

He speaks clearly and slowly and then turns his gaze back down to his work and hopes that will fix the problem. But then Taehyung is actually standing and sauntering over to him. He gets up to the trash bin and Seokjin thinks he’s going to throw the sucker away and sighs in relief, but then Taehyung is turning around and fucking bending over, his round and firm ass very clearly visible in Seokjin’s eyesight.

The view certainly doesn’t do anything to help Seokjin’s growing problem and he tries his hardest to tear his eyes away but Taehyung catches him staring and actually smirks at him, biting his lip and cocking his eyebrow at him.

“What are you doing?” Seokjin asks him quietly, his voice coming out in a raspy tone, much to his dismay. Taehyung stands, holding something in his hand.

“Just getting the wrapper back.” He smiles and puts the sucker inside, as if he’s planning to save it for later.

“Take your seat.” Seokjin says a bit angrier then he means to.

"Yes Sir." Taehyung says with a smirk as he walks back to his chair.

Sir? How can this 19 year old kid know exactly what to do and say to push all of his buttons?

“Do you think he would fuck me?”

Taehyung’s never really been one for subtly, and that’s what his best friend Hoseok has always loved about him.

Which is why he doesn’t exactly appreciate the next response. “Yeah… in your dreams maybe.”

Hoseok smirks up at him, grabbing a fistful of his fluffy dark hair and tugging on it gently. Taehyung lays his head on Hoseok shoulder and sighs out loud.

He’s been fantasizing over Seokjin for the last year. When Taehyung started at this university he heard multiple stories through the grapevine about the beautiful and cool Kim Seokjin. About how funny he was and how young he seemed. He was also extremely good-looking. Everyone talked about how he should have been a model instead of a professor. All the girls (and some guys) oohed and ahhed over him and Taehyung could certainly understand the appeal. His fascination with Seokjin grew even deeper when rumors started circulating that Seokjin was gay. It seemed too good to be true.

Taehyung finally managed to worm his way into his class (his father’s influence with the school went a long way) and finally saw for himself what all the fuss was about.

It turned out that Seokjin was pretty great. He was smart and witty and everything that people had said. And of course, insanely attractive. Taehyung liked to push his buttons a little, see how Seokjin would react, but so far he wasn’t making much headway.

At 19 Taehyung was pretty experienced sexually and he was able to win over almost anyone he wanted with a little charm, but Seokjin was hard to figure out. Sometimes he would look at Taehyung in this way, and Taehyung would think maybe he had a shot, but then other times Seokjin would act completely cold with him.

Taehyung knew he was thinking unrealistically. He knew that everything Hoseok had said to him over the past weeks was right. This was just a fantasy. Seokjin was a teacher for fucks sake. He may be young and he may actually even be gay, but he would never risk his reputation and mess around with a student. Deep down Taehyung knew this to be true.

But it sure wouldn’t stop him from trying.
