Chapter 1: I see new worlds, these visions

Chapter Text

“I want to tell my parents about you.”

Jungkook looks up from his phone, eyes falling on Jimin.

Taehyung stops on his tracks from where he was cutting the vegetables for dinner, head looking up. His eyes meet Jimin’s, before the other looks at Jungkook.

“About who?” Jungkook asks, making Jimin roll his eyes.

“You both, idiot.” he answers, but his tone is soft as he walks towards the couch and touches Jungkook’s hair in a loving manner. “I want to tell them about you both.”

Taehyung puts the knife down, walking over to them on the couch. He sits down on the table in front of his boyfriends, taking in the scene before him. Jungkook and Jimin are pressed together, Jimin holding Jungkook’s head against his chest as the younger still plays on his phone.

He smiles. “Will they take it in a positive way?”

“I’m sure they will. My parents are very open-minded, and they’ve always supported me. It might be a bit of a pill to swallow this time, but I’m sure it’ll go well.”

Taehyung nods, thinking about it. He never talks about sexuality nor relationships with his parents, so telling them out of the blue that he’s with not one, but two men, would be like trying to get them to have a heart attack. He didn’t even think about telling his parents about them, so having Jimin bring the subject up makes him feel flattered, but still triggers his anxiety a little bit.

Despite all the unanswered questions, Taehyung feels like it would be a step he’d be ready to take with them. Tell their parents.

Not his, though. That’s for another time.

“You know best, baby. You tell them if you want, I don’t mind.”

“If you tell them I’ll probably have the urge to suck your dick but that depends if you decide to do it on the phone or at their house.”

Jimin snorts at Jungkook’s intervention, he looks down at the younger. “I was thinking of telling them on the phone first, just to make sure they’re not reacting badly. And then we could go eat lunch with them during the week, if that’s okay with you.”

Taehyung nods, Jungkook doesn’t answer.

They both know he doesn’t mind. The question was more directed towards the older, and Jimin watches him closely, analyzing his reaction to the suggestion.

“That wouldn’t be too much? You’re okay with that?”

“I’m okay with that. We’ve been together for 5 months now, I think it’s only natural for you to bring the subject up to your parents.”

Jimin seems to consider it, eyes falling on the floor before he smiles. “I’m so happy you’re taking this well, Tae. I thought it might put some pressure on you. I’m very glad you’re ready to take that step.”

“Of course I’m ready. I thought we made that clear.” Taehyung bends over, pressing a kiss to Jimin’s lips before moving to kiss Jungkook’s forehead. He’s watching his phone with a frown, not a care in the world about the discussion happening right in front of him. Taehyung looks at him with fondness.

“And you, baby. Did you ever think about telling your parents about us?”

Said man looks up, eyes going wider than before. He pauses his game, straightening up. “Huh,” he says, hesitant. “I might have already told my parents, but I swear it was an accident and-”

“You’ve already told your parents?”

“When? How?”

Jungkook looks at them biting his lips, apologetic. “I was excited when Jimin got his dance teacher licence. I called them to tell them I was happy today, and they catched on what was happening. They asked what boy was making me this happy, and my brain worked faster than my mouth. I said boys, not boy.”

Taehyung doesn’t answer immediately, but he does reach out to press a hand against his boyfriend’s cheek, thumb caressing the soft skin.

Jimin is the first to speak up. “You’re adorable. You know that? How did they react?”

“They were surprised, they told me to be careful not to get hurt. But other than that, they were happy for me.”

His tone is soft as he recalls the phone call with his parents. They’ve always been understanding, and Jungkook wasn’t really worried about their reaction.More of Taehyung’s, since he’s been struggling with commitment at first. Even though to be fair, he’s been the most committed to them ever since they decided to get together and make things official to their friends.

He continues, looking between the two with a smile. “My mom said she knew her son would make boys fall easily. My dad said I was never one to settle for a regular situation, I took that personally, to be honest.”

Taehyung laughs at that, dropping his hand. “I’d say you always get what  you want, that’s a fact.”

“You’re lying. I’m still waiting for the lap dance I asked for our five month anniversary.”

Jimin huffs a laugh, pinching Jungkook’s sides.

Jungkook frowns when he sees Taehyung tense. “What?”

He looks at Jimin. The older is looking away, trying to avoid eye contact. “Jimin. Tell me.”

“It’s nothing.”

“Clearly it is-”

Jimin lets his arm fall from where it was around Jungkook's shoulder. “It’s not for me to say, stop always trying to get me in trouble-”

“Jimin, don't do this right- Taehyung.” Jungkook sends him a glare. “Tell me.”

“Huh, I- No, wait, we should be the one mad at you. You told your parents first!”

“There’s nothing wrong with that, but you on the other hand clearly did something-”

Taehyung waves a hand dismissively, body still tense. “Yesterday, when you were out with Namjoon, Jimin asked for a lap dance. And I did it. Just because he was tired from work, and needed a break from-”

Jungkook’s lips part, he starts standing up slowly with a finger pointing at Taehyung. “Are you serious-”

"He was tired!"

"So what?! I'm the youngest, of course I have more energy than you all! Old bread."

"Don't go and throw insults at us just because you-"

Just as Jungkook is about to say something, answer Taehyung's words and defend himself, Jimin stands up, holding his phone in the air.

"You both, stop! Some trouble focusing we need to discuss later. For now, I'm calling mom."

Jungkook sees the phone screen is set on a call, he can read the word 'ringing' under 'mom'. Panick settles in Taehyung's gaze as Jungkook only feels excitment. He stands up as well, joining Jimin excitedly.

Taehyung stands up slowly too, eyes wider than usual as he looks into Jimin and Jungkook's eyes, searching for the comfort he knows he'll find there.

The phone stops ringing, a gentle voice echoeing through the room. "Hello?"

Taehyung takes ahold of Jungkook's arm, heart racing.
