Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

Kim Taehyung was your average 16-year-old male. He was in Highschool, had a pretty decent amount of friends, and was even soon to be graduating as well. This was all fine and dandy, aside from the fact that he currently had a not so great home life. You see, around the time Taehyung had turned thirteen, he came out to his parents as Transgender. Formerly known as Kim Jihyo, a female that had been struggling with her self image from a very young age. And had not said anything about until she went to highschool for the very reason that she just knew her parents we transphobic/homophobic, just based on the way they talked about happy gay couples they've seen walking down the street.

Though, what Jihyo had not expected was for her mother to actually be very supportive of this. Her mother had claimed to "know she was trans, or at least a lesbian" based on the fact Jihyo was very much a tomboy growing up. It was the father that was not so supportive and enthusiastic about this. While her mother was all for her starting to transition, her father was not having it. This time was around when the beatings started. At first, it was only a few slaps now and then when Jihyo would misbehave, but as she got older, the worse they got. It got to the point where she would have to go to school with a black eye among other hidden bruises as well. What made it worse was she was bullied at school as well.

Around the age of fifteen, Jihyo's mother had finally let her officially begin transitioning. Chose a new name to go by; Kim Taehyung; and got his driver's license with his preferred name and pronouns. The beatings even seemed to subside for a bit, since Tae's dad was barely home, due to having some gang activities to tend to. But once he was home more regularly and saw what had become of his beautiful daughter, his rage only grew. Everything got much worse. What was the most horrible thing, was that Taehyung's mother, the woman he relied on the most, just stood back and watched. She was just as scared as him, and didn't help at all. Especially not when dark thoughts began overtaking Taehyung's mind. He would hardly even talk to his friends anymore at school. And the day that should've been the happiest of his life (graduation) ended up being the worst. Tae's parents didn't even attend the ceremony.

Immediately after finishing highschool, Taehyung decided to move out of his house. No one knew about what went on in his home life, except for his best friend Jungkook. Of course, the two males moved in together into a small apartment on the outskirts of Seoul. Not really in the country like where the two grew up, but far enough away from the city for it to be peaceful living. It was nice enough, Taehyung had managed to find a decent paying job, and eventually with all those years of Christmas money and allowance he had saved up along with his checks from work, Tae was finally able to afford top surgery. So after undergoing the procedure, he more outwardly looked like a male. This was a very euphoric experience for Taehyung, as he had been waiting for this for years and could finally show how he feels on the inside. His brain can finally match his body. Jungkook was always so supportive of Taehyung and was honestly so lucky to have the younger male in his life. At this rate things seemed to be looking up.

It was a typical work day for Taehyung, being scheduled for his usual late night shift and not having a car to drive so he was walking home. This wasn't that big of a deal, as he didn’t live very far from his job. There was one sketchy area, however, that Tae always tried to be cautious around because there was said to be gang activity going on in that area. While listening to music with his headphones in, tae passed by an alleyway, it was a total surprise to him when he felt somebody grab him by the wrist and pull him into the darkness of the alley before ripping his headphones off. When Tae turned his head around, he was utterly surprised to see a familiar face. It was none other than Min Yoongi, a man that his father trusted very well. The man even used to watch over Taehyung when he was much younger. Tae tried to call out his name, to stop him from proceeding, but knowing the way his father’s gang worked, that was highly unlikely. When the members were given an order by their leader, they followed through. Always. Before Taehyung knew it, his pants were swiftly pulled down to his ankles and he was at the taller man’s mercy. No matter how much Tae screamed and cried, it seemed as if no one could hear him. His mouth had a handkerchief stuffed in it to muffle the noises. It seemed like forever until Yoongi finally left him, letting him fall to the ground and writhe in the filth he felt in his own body. Tae shivered on the cold, hard concrete before soon regaining himself and slowly limping his way home. Blood slowly trickled down his leg; as that was his first time; and once he got home he fumbled to find his keys to unlock the front door. Tae stepped inside before quietly making his way to the bathroom so as to not wake Jungkook. He turned on the shower and stripped off his clothes before stepping in, trying to wash the smell of someone he once trusted with everything, someone who helped him with rough times. He couldn't stop thinking about the small whispers into his ear which sent shivers down his spine and still do. After showering and scrubbing himself as best he could, Taehyung still felt nasty but figured it would have to do for now. Would tell someone in the morning.

But that time never came, as Taehyung kept these emotions bottled up inside of him until he couldn't anymore. He was spiraling deeper and deeper into the point of no return, getting to the point of starving himself and locking himself in his room away from everyone. These small things, which it seemed no one picked up on, soon turned into one big thing. The day that landed Taehyung the place he never thought he'd go. Just by deciding to take half  a bottle of pills that of course, were not meant to be taken at that high of a dose. But at this rate, Tae was just looking for a quick and painless way out. Within the hour, Taehyung had collapsed on the bathroom floor and was there, unconscious, for a while before Jungkook finally came home and found him this way. After having a huge panic and trying to get Tae to wake up himself, Jungkook came to his senses and called 911.

Once in the hospital, the doctors got their best staff to help Taehyung and before he knew it he was waking up again. Tae teared up and began crying, as this wasn't what he wanted. Jungkook was sitting next to him and trying to console him but Tae just kept yelling at him, trying to push him away. After hours of being in the hospital, a psychiatrist was sent down to evaluate the recently unconscious male, quickly deciding he was unfit to go home and needed to get help. Tae was kept in the hospital for another week, both to make sure he was in good health and because they had to wait for a bed to open up. He was transferred in the middle of the night to a hospital in the center of Seoul, they went over everything with him and took away things deemed "too dangerous" for him to have. They also went over his medical records to make sure everything was correct before he was finally admitted and able to sleep in the room they put him in. It seemed they had put him in a room with a female but he would figure that out in the morning
