A lot of unexpected things happen from time to time, whether by chance or by choice.
Decisions that lead us to new places and meet new faces, new experiences with either people that we've been with for a long time or with people we just met.
"Nice to know you're alive."
Pedro says after removing one of his earbuds. Hinata sweatdrops as he greets him back with a goodmorning.
It was a rare occurrence that Hinata didn't go back to the apartment so when the orange-haired boy didn't, Pedro called up Lucio to which the man replied with "He's at a party with some friends from the beach, he's fine."
"Sorry for not telling you Pedro! My battery died before I could shoot you a text!"
The athlete nervously explained as best as he can in spanish. The ravenette sighed and reluctantly forgave him as they ate breakfast together before he goes to class and Hinata goes back to the beach.
"So you didn't get their number, sucks for you dude."
Oikawa said as the man in front of him was in despair.
"Yeah but we had a really good time! and-ugh." Hinata groaned as he never got your number at the party last night.
"So you guys did it?"
The setter looked like a Cheshire cat with a grin on his face and it reminds him a little too much of another setter that he knows that does that albeit inadvertently.
"No! We just drank and danced!"
Despite being 20 years old, his face reddens like a person in their teens. Oikawa cackled at his face's color change before advising him to ask around about you and that's what he did.
"Hello, how can I help you?"
You turn and see the same bright-haired man you saw a few nights prior.
"Your y/n right?"
You already liked what you saw before even if it was somewhat dark at the party but you definitely like what you see even more when you could see all of him clearly.
"Yeah, I'm y/n. Need anything?"
You hum at him while fixing and restocking the shelves. Despite english not being your first language, you're pretty fluent in it and likewise with Spanish. Working part-time in a convenience store that's nearby a tourist hotspot has some perks to it.
Like meeting foreigners that you would most likely never see again.
"I was hoping if I could get your number and maybe we could have some drinks or dinner sometime?"
Hinata asked as calmly as he can, unlike his heart that is definitely not calm and is ready to burst out of his chest and make a run for it.
"Sure, let's talk when you're free so we can know when and where we're going."
You whipped out your phone and showed him your number. He was ecstatic that you didn't reject him and he typed in your number with precise accuracy before buying something and leaving so that he wouldn't distract you from your job.
The feeling he had at that moment had the same impact it had when he first landed a spike across the net back then.

"Thanks for today, Shoyo. It was really fun!"
You sighed elated as you two sat down for dinner after him teaching you how to play some beach volleyball and doing some swimming after that.
He was glad that you had fun today despite the fact that you probably ate some sand with the number of times you face-planted on the ground from trying to receive the ball when it went your way.
It was a new kind of experience for him too. He felt accomplished just seeing you learn a new move and do it successfully after some failures. He was entranced by that smile on your face when you looked at him for approval with that shine in your eyes as you served the ball and actually got it to the other side of the net.
"Do you think you had enough fun for a second date?"
He asked sheepishly, staring out at the beach and you laughed.
"Hell yeah. Wanna see some gameplay from the Ninja Shoyo"
You replied, looking to the beach as well then at him. He lets out a breath of relief and you chuckle, teasing him that he doesn't really need to be nervous since it was pretty obvious that both of you had a good time.

"I'm surprised that you brought me as a plus one to be honest"
You two approached the venue of Heitor and Nice's wedding.
"I'm even more surprised that you agreed actually considering the fact that I just asked you out of the blue"
Hinata replied and you two greet the newlyweds and went to your seats right after for the next guests to greet them as well.
The night went by pretty quickly as much as he hates to admit it. Now here you two are, slow dancing in the beach with other people as the night is about to end.
The atmosphere is quite the contrast from when you two first met.
The blaring neon lights that strobed around the dark room were replaced with a calming light that enhanced your features and even made you glow in a sense. It was like he was dancing with an angel, it felt ethereal for him.
It was cheesy of him to think that but that's what he felt like at the moment.
That feeling was content.
He wants to stay here with you, in this moment, forever.
The better part of him knows that's impossible and he knows that he has to leave at some point but he can't help it.
The music stops and everyone claps at the DJ before people started talking to each other again and began saying their goodbyes.
"You look happy with them, you know? Don't be afraid to try everything and anything to make it work."
Heitor says as he and Hinata do a bro hug with a pat on each other's backs.
The orange-haired man nods in agreement as his friend's words. If there's one thing he's sure he's good at, it's definitely not giving up.
"You should come over sometime when you're free y/n!"
Nice says as she and Heitor wave goodbye to you and Hinata as you two left.
With your hand holding his, he's determined to do everything he can to make this last.

"Remember to send me a message when you land"
You say while letting go of your hold on him, he nods and says goodbye to the rest of his friends. You all wave at him as he goes and you can only hope that he gets home safely.
Luckily, he did get back to japan safely and you two have been having video chats every other day when you're both not busy.
He wishes that he could've stayed a little bit longer for your graduation but you insisted that just being with him through a screen is enough, not wanting him to get in trouble with customs and all that.
A few months later, you booked your flight to Japan. Hinata is pretty much unaware of this. It's gonna be your surprise for him when you attend one of his matches.
Thank god there was English written in the airport if not, then you would've been really lost. You know some Japanese after you began dating Hinata, you asked him to teach you some basic words and phrases that you fortunately didn't forget when you checked in the hotel you were staying in.
"Woah, you're so pretty!"
Natsu said as she approached you when you finally met her in person. The teen showed you around the town but made note that you weren't supposed to actually be here since it's a surprise.
"Wait, you're not attending the match?"
You ask her over lunch in an izakaya as she gave you the ticket.
"Nope, I'll be attending it next time. Such a shame too, he said he'll be going up against Kageyama-kun!"
She whines and you chuckle as she explains that she has a lot of things to do that's why she can't attend his match this time around.
A phone call interrupts your conversation with Natsu and both of your eyes widen as you saw the caller's id.
"Are you gonna answer it?!"
She whisper-yells at you, panicking a bit.
You nod at her and press the green button.
"Hey sho, what's up?"
You try to sound calm and casual, emphasis on the word try.
"Oh, is it"a bad time? The background seems loud!"
He was on loudspeaker so that Natsu could hear him too.
In the background, a woman loudly calls for the order in Japanese as another person yells "sumimasen" in another part of the room.
You look at her in panic and she told you to tell him that you're in a japanese restaurant.
"Sorry about that sho, I'm in a restaurant at the moment. Wanted to try something new."
It's a good thing that Hinata didn't think much of it when you said that as he lets out an "ohhh" at the other end of the phone.
"I'll just call you later then! Love you, bye!"
He says loudly so that you could hear him over the bustling noise of the establishment.
"Love you too."
You and Natsu let out a sigh of relief as you end the call.
"So, no pet names because you're in public?"
She teased, you turned beet red as you and Hinata got caught red-handed.

"The serve that put the french national team on their knees was cleanly received by Hinata Shoyo!"
You've seen Hinata play volleyball before but this opened your eyes to see how good he truly is at the sport. You were awestruck at how good his form is, not to mention that smile on his face when he high-fived his teammates show how much this sport really means to him.
It's not the first time you've been to a volleyball tournament but it is the first time where you see everyone in the crowd go wild at every rally and every point that scored no matter which team scores it.
The crowd shouts but you decided to not join in hopes of Hinata not knowing you're here despite the fact that there's a slim chance he'd hear your voice over the hundreds of people in the stadium.
You felt even more proud of him as he nails his second jump serve which got him a service ace. It was a long and tedious match. It was anyone's game despite the adlers winning the previous match against the jackals.
The match ends 3-1, Hinata's team won and everyone was at the edge of their seats the whole game.
Cheerleaders from both teams made noise along with the audience as the last rally ended.
You debated on whether or not to approach him but you saw him go over to what looks like his former clubmates from karasuno, they look like the people that he showed you on his phone when he was talking about them back in brazil.
You settled on buying a jersey and took a selfie wearing it while in the stadium.
You take one last glance at Hinata and smiled before leaving along with the rest of the crowd as you decide where to have dinner before you go back to your hotel.

"What about you Hinata, what's brazil been like?"
Daichi inquires as the former club members all gathered up and ate together in an izakaya.
"It's really fun and I learned a lot! I met a lot of great people too!"
Hinata answers back while chewing on a piece of meat which made Tsukishima cringe.
Then again, nothing really changed if that's the case.
It was as if time had stopped and they were simply teenagers again out having a meal after a good game.
After the dinner, Hinata received a message as they all split the bill up.
"Looks like you're not that much of a boke anymore huh?"
Kageyama teases with a smirk on his face as he looks at the message over Hinata's shoulder.
It was a picture of you in his jersey in the stadium while he was in the background of your selfie.
The orange-haired man swats his friend away and Tsukishima joins in and coos at the Tangerine's blushing face.
Which made the rest of the crew look at the photo as well.
"Damn bro, why didn'tcha bring them over with us!"
Tanaka feigned betrayal and Kiyoko just rolled her eyes, a stark contrast to the smile on her face from her husband's antics just like in high school.
"Yeah Boke, you afraid that we might embarrass you?"
Kageyama says with a smug face.
"Don't worry king, he can do that just fine by himself"
The saltiest in the group chided, Yamaguchi snickering in tandem with his best friend.
After a few questions about you (the not personal ones) they all parted ways and planned on having something like this every once in a while now that everyone's back in the same town.

"Nice to see you too, Sho."
You greeted after you were almost tackled to the ground by him as he engulfed in a hug.
"Why didn't you tell me you were gonna visit y/n? I could've picked you up from the airport!"
He whined after releasing his hold on you.
Hinata's elated to say the least, pictures of you and him blew up in social media as you spent more time around each other doing all types of activities exclusive only in Japan.
He also ended up taking you on a bike ride to see his old school and to the beach nearby.
You ended up meeting his friends as well as Kageyama who scared the absolute living hell out of you the first time you met him.
Hinata found out later on that you had been in contact with Natsu the whole time and she just stuck her tongue out at him in defiance when he whined to her about it.
"Yeah, there was also a time when this boke hit me in the damn head with a volleyball during our first practice match together, remember that?"
Kageyama recalled and the rest of them laugh at the memory and you chuckle along with them despite Hinata begging him not to tell that tale to you.
You ended up getting along really well with all of his family, friends, old and new teammates, he realizes one morning after you woke up and took a shower.
The birds chirping outside provided an ample amount of background noise as he thoughts drifted off.
"Sho, you better get a move or we'll be late for that movie you wanted me to see!"
You told him and he immediately sat up, giving you a quick kiss before making a beeline for the bathroom.
Yeah, this is right.
He thinks smiling to himself, waking up with you and you reminding him to get a move on or you'll miss your plans.
He knows you'll be going back to Brazil in a few weeks so he'll enjoy his time with you for now.
In the future, whether that be the near or distant one, he wants this to be an everyday thing.
From tomorrow to the day after tomorrow and the day following that, he wants to spend it all with you, he knows that deep down you want to spend it with him too.
