Work Text:
“For as long as we both shall live,”
“Huh?”
“Nothing. I just want to reminiscing our vows.”
A silence.
Steady breaths.
And a deep, slow kiss.
“Do you realize how powerful the meaning of those words are?”
What he exactly mean is,
'Do you realize how heavy the burden of those words carried?'
A gentle nod.
And a peaceful quiet.
Before he finally blurts out the weight in his mind.
“Have you ever thought, if-”
“No.”
It's scary.
It'll put him in an endless torture.
And it will be his worst nightmare; he can't recover from it forever.
“Don't say anything.”
A low whisper.
But the hint of his fear is so huge, that nothing can distract him from it.
Even the softest kiss he receives from his soulmate.
“That's why we said it in our vows, remember?”
Clasped hands tighten.
Long fingers slowly caressing his face.
To calm the nerves.
To ease the worried mind.
And to reassure that he won't go anywhere.
For as long as they both shall live.
