Overview
Nova considers himself as the second navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates, but in reality his role is a lot more complicated than that. He could be described as a jack-of-all-trades; master of none, due to the fact that he’s capable of plenty of things in the crew, including but not limited to: cooking, fighting, lookout, art, and, of course, navigating. However, he is only okay at most of these things, and has some limitations to his abilities.
- Cooking: Nova is perfectly capable of baking, and is often seen in the kitchen with his apron on caking a delicious cake or other sweet for the crew. However, for some unknown reason, he cannot cook.
- Fighting: Nova starts out not being able to fight, but thanks to some training from his crewmates and other allies, he becomes rather handy with his trusty dual knives.
- Navigating: due to his devil fruit, Nova is rather handy with knowing exactly where to go at any time. However, he is absolutely awful with directions, and cannot read a map.
Personality
Upon first meeting him, Nova comes off as rather distant and shy. He tends to keep to himself, and is polite when spoken to. However, after being with the crew for a good amount of time, he grows into his more passionate, outgoing, (and somewhat of a flirt), self.
Nova is the type to crack plenty of jokes when given the chance, though sometimes his humor can be sort of off-putting to those who don’t know him.
History
Nova was born in the North Blue in a kingdom I haven't decided the name of yet. His parents are named Richard and Elonja They're the king and queen of thee kingdom with no name and they're allied with germa.
Nova (9 years old) and his dad go to germa because Novas dad commissioned them to make a clone of nova "In case something goes wrong", and he essentially wants a more perfect version of his kid. When Nova first gets there he's aware of the plan and wants to get the fuck out of there and is running from people looking for him. This is where he first meets sanji
Him and sanji have a discussion about being children and having shitty families idk. Then some soldiers come in and take Nova back to his dad.
Nova gets cloned. However the clone was a complete success in the worst possible way— its exactly like Nova including his flaws. Novas father isn't too happy with this and he wants them to try again. The clone is planned to be scrapped.
But uh oh! Nova runs away the day the clone is scrapped. This is about the same time sanji escapes into the East Blue so they're in the east blue now. At this point Nova thinks sanji is dead.
Meanwhile, a man named Atticus, the head inventor of germa, finds out about the plan to destroy the clone Nova and takes him away because even though he's a clone he's still a fucking kid. Everyone thinks the clone was destroyed but actually he was adopted, luckily he doesn't really remember anything about what he is and Atticus decides to keep it that way.
Nova escapes on a little boat in the East Blue and it's not long before he's overwhelmed by waves and goes under. Luckily he doesn't fucking die and wakes up on the beach of an island.
Covered in sand and looking fucked up, Nova comes face to face with a kid who looks like he's already been through every trauma despite being the same age as him. This little boys name is Ace and after interrogating Nova he decides to bring him to dadan because she'll probably know what to do with him. UnSurprisingly dadan has no fuckig idea to do with a random kid who washed ashore that her son brought home. She lets Nova stay until they figure out what to do with him and she likes him a lot bc he's a fucking angel compared to Ace.
Nova and Ace become kinda friends but it's mostly Nova nagging Ace for coming home late and being pouty bc he wants attention. They do get closer though, Nova meets sabo a couple times, and they get to the point where they care a lot for each other (and have a little baby crush teehee) at one point Ace tells Nova his plan about being a pirate better than Roger, and Nova says he'll join his crew. Ace denies jt but he's secretly happy Nova said something like that.
Fast forward a little bit and uh oh! Novas family found the island and are after him. Nova goes to Ace because he's scared they're gonna take him away and Ace acts pissed off, not at Nova but at his family, and storms off. Nova kinda takes it the wrong way and thinks Ace hates him for keeping a secret like that from him.
Ace goes to pick a fight with novas family. What he didn't expect, however, is the royal family being very strong and also having a few big boy germa soldiers on their side. Strong as he is Ace is still only 9 years old at this point and he gets overwhelmed. He gets interrogated on novas whereabouts but doesn't say shit.
Nova shows up and says if they leave Ace alone he'll go home. Ace is upset. Novas wish is honored and they prepare to go home. Ace promises Nova that when he sets out to be a pirate, he'll come find him and rescue him.
Fast forward 7 years. Nova is 16 now and his family has arranged him to get married to a bitch of a man. If this happens his life will be over so he plans his escape. He wanted to be rescued by Ace but he has to get out Now. Sadly him and Ace just miss each other bc Ace sets out literally a couple weeks later but maybe it's for the best because how tf would Ace get to the north blue anyway. Ace reads in the paper that Nova escaped and is happy he's safe but also worried bc that his bf :(
Nova sets out on his own little journey. At first it's on a little tiny ship (he never learns) but he gets lost and crash lands on an island. He thinks he's dead until he comes across his devil fruit. I'm indecisive on the name but it lets him see the future and know where to go. With his newfound power he finds a marine ship that's also stranded on the island and is able to guilt trip them to let him hitch a ride and he's outta there.
For the next couple years, Nova goes on hisbown little adventure, kinda making a name for himself within the north blue (not as a criminal yet he's just a cryptid), and searching for a pirate crew that doesn't exist yet.
Fast forward 3 years, and Nova hqs made his way to the grand line and will now join the Straw Hats
Relationships
- The Straw Hat Pirates - Nova considers the Straw Hats his family, as they’re the first people (other than his friends from long ago), that he felt like he belonged with. To Nova, the Straw Hats are his saving grace.
- Luffy - Nova looks up to his captain, and like everyone else, firmly believes that Luffy will become the King of Pirates.
- Usopp - Nova sees Usopp as a brother, and cares about him deeply.
- Sanji - Nova’s childhood friend, who he’s overjoyed to see alive. They’re as close as ever, and often talk while working in the kitchen.
- Franky - Nova sees Franky as the father he never had.
- Portgas D. Ace - As his childhood friend, Nova has a lot of love, trust, and respect for Ace. Upon first meeting him after a long time of being apart, Nova is shocked by how much Ace has changed in the past decade— both personality wise and looks wise. He's a bit nervous around the new Ace, but they soon get along well and bounce off of each other easily. They always seem their happiest when the other is around (though maybe a bit shy at times), and try to write each other letters whenever possible.

Devil Fruit
The Seer-Seer fruit is an unusual paramecia, that grants the user no physical powers but rather mental ones.
• Guides the user to places, in a mixture of where they are destined to go and where they want to go. Depends on the circumstances
• Allows for the user to see flashes of their own future
Pros:
• Navigating is easy and getting lost is difficult. The user naturally knows where to go at all times
• Visions can be controlled
• Makes dodging incoming attacks easier
Cons:
• Not knowing how to use it can result in a mixture of information being presented at once, confusing and dehabilitating the user
• There's no way of telling when exactly unprompted visions take place
• Large visions can cause immense headaches
Appearance
Pre-Timeskip
Nova has dark brown hair, violet eyes, and somewhat tanned skin. He wears navy blue overalls that cut off just above his knee, over a black turtleneck shirt. He wears black socks that go to his knees, and matching black boots.
Nova wears a log pose on his left hand. He also wears some pins on his overalls with several different designs on them.
Post-Timeskip
Nova's hair is a bit shorter and much fluffier post timeskip. He now wears a flower crown atop his head, adorning red, teal, orange, pink, and purple flowers. He usually dresses in colorful vacation shirts, shorts, brown loafers, and white socks.
He has an updated log pose, and has now gained a red beaded bracelet that looks somewhat familiar...
