Recently there has been an increase in cases for adollium dealings. Normally the detective duo would have solved most of it , especially those abroad. Kambe was already known to be the millionaire detective and his partner would have been blurred in the papers for privacy. Only those people who had seen him personally would have seen an ashy blonde inspector helping in the front lines of these cases.
The current case was a domestic one and the dealer had also been a suspect for a crime the first division had been working on for weeks. And after a few days of tracking they found their suspect, Ueno Orochi, currently hospitalized due to the messy effects of a bad deal. Thus their plan began that Hoshino and Katou would go undercover to find out more about his company and physical proof or a confession to send him to jail.

With the help of some fake IDs and outfits (courtesy of Suzue Kambe) the old pair was ready for this mission. Missions like this were common for Haru but he did have a fair share spending them with Hoshino. There was one time where Haru had been dressed up as a woman trying to get her money from the atm as the scammer was behind him. Ryo was simply a bystander at that time but Haru couldn’t forget the surprised face of his kohai when he managed to knock back the scammer with the hand bag before arresting him on the spot. They laughed about it afterwork while having a celebratory drink.
They both had seemed to grow from that time though. Hoshino seems more serious and somewhat uptight. Haru thinks it’s because of his new position as the head of the first division causing some stress for him. Aside from that it’s great to see Hoshino ask him for guidance from time to time just like the old times even learning from the other at times.
Haru couldn’t help but feel like something was missing though. He takes the patient’s records from the office to try and see if he could find any connections before asking HUESC to scan it and give it to Kambe to have a deeper search into it. He puts it back in it’s proper order before leaving. Hoshino is currently distracting the owner of the office Kato is in at the moment. He peaks the window before exiting the office and shooting Hoshi a message that he got the records.
As he walks through the hallways passing by some nurses and even some patients he sees a very annoyed Daisuke Kambe beside the fire escape ...wearing glasses? He wasn’t even supposed to be on this specific mission due to a meeting he had or something. He looks at him just to make sure he isn’t imagining his partner being with then grabs Daisuke’s hand and brings him into the fire escape with him.
“What are you doing here?” Haru questioned, still holding his hand.
“The mission” Daisuke simply answered
“This isn’t your mission, go home” Haru ordered or well tried to
“As the head of the Kambe Conglomerate anything with adollium is my job” Daisuke answered but wasn't looking at him.
Haru knows it’s something else that keeps him stubborn but cannot pinpoint where just yet.
“Well you can’t just walk in, they are gonna know who you are.” Haru looks at him from up and down and realizes he’s holding his hand then let’s go.
“Just wearing glasses isn’t a good enough disguise” he continued criticizing the other
“Then lend me your coat,” Daisuke requested, looking at him.
“Lend you my coat?” Haru repeated but sounded unsure.
“You said I need a disguise so lend me the coat” he requested one last time
Haru just sighed at this brat he called a partner and grabbed his stethoscope with one hand as he took off the coat. Which Daisuke happily took if you could hear his little happy puff.
Daisuke puts it on and once he does Haru offers him the stethoscope to “finish the look” but Dai refuses leaving him confused. Kambe gives him a smile before leaving the fire escape before Katou could question or criticize him more. Deciding that he cannot do anything at the moment he just follows his partner by his side. They finally reach the area where they were supposed to meet Hoshino
“Ka- ..mbe ?” Hoshino looks at the millionaire.
Kambe just gives him a smirk and walks forward leaving Hoshino more confused.
Haru looks at his ex junior and asks about the reports as they walk to the suspects room. Hoshino gives Haru the information from the other patients about this one. The usual people who visit don't seem related so they could only assume they are his friends or perhaps accomplices. Haru continues to listen and looks forward only to be met with the back of the millionaire who has truly answered any of his questions. He sighs and combs his hair with his hands due to frustration about being met with more questions rather than answers.
