Work Text:
Hermione shook her head as Newt walked into their apartment after being away for two weeks, his nose was bleeding and it was crooked.
“What happened this time?” She asked.
“Not exactly sure, she didn’t mean to do it. I don’t think she even realised she did it.” He mumbled.
“Really? The troll didn’t mean to break your nose?” Hermione questioned.
“She was pushed to do it. I pissed her off, love. I didn’t approach slowly like I normally do.” Newt said holding a tea towel over his nose to stem the bleeding.
“You need to be more careful!” She exclaimed.
“I know. The boys will be taking over soon and we can enjoy our retirement,” Newt said.
Hermione shook her head, there was no way that Newt would just hand over the reins to their sons. He would never relax. He loved his creatures too much and she couldn’t fault him and never would try and get him too. She just wanted him to be careful.
“Come here, love. Let me fix it, and then we can have a glass of wine, some dinner and go to bed.” Hermione said.
“Thank you my love,” Newt stood up and walked over to the table and sat down waiting for her to work her magic.
Pointing her wand at her husband of twenty years, “Episkey.” Hermione heard the crack of his nose and smiled, “There. All done.”
“Thank you, much better.” Newt said, grabbing her around the waist he pulled Hermione to him, “I missed you so much this last two weeks.”
“Let’s not make it that long again, hey?” Hermione suggested.
“Let’s. Only day trips and if it’s longer will you come with me?” He asked
“Sounds like a good idea to me,” Hermione agreed.
Hermione thought of all the times she had had to use that exact spell and other healing spells on him and smiled. Being the wife of a magizoologist had been a stressful adventure but she wouldn’t have it any other way.
