[F4F][F4A] Second Date: Hot Springs with Zelda  [Legend of Zelda] [Breath of the Wild] [Second Date] [Narrative] [ASMR][Exploring the Wilds][Hot Spring][Wholesome] [Friendly Teasing] [Adorkable] [First Kiss] [Friends to Lovers]

Thanks for looking at my script!

This script is the second in a series I’m calling the First Dates. Each one will begin with a different fictional character and go through three dates with them, starting with something innocent to build a rapport, moving onto budding romance, and culminating in sex.
These recordings are intended to be immersive ASMR experiences and are meant to be relaxing (and possibly stimulating) and could be used to help the listener fall asleep.

For this and all scripts in the series, I am offering to do all the sound effects and audio mastery. You are free to do these on your own, but I like to play around with audio spaces and create distance and movement. If you’re okay with that, just shoot me a DM on Reddit and we’ll discuss sharing files.

Feel free to adlib and improvise, especially for the “intimate” moments. ;)

Thank you again!

[SFX: Hoof beats]
[SFX: birds chirp on occasion, wind blows]

Thank you again for accompanying me. I was worried I would make this trip alone.

Well I’m glad that my company is preferable to the circle of old men prodding that statue I found.

{giggle}
**Fine**, the statue **we** found. Either way, I’m grateful you helped me present it. Those meetings can be dreadfully boring.

No, of course I love discovering ancient sites. There’s always so much to discover and learn! I just… I just don’t like having to explain my decision to use the kingdom’s funds. They have no sense of adventure!

Hmm? Oh, well I told them **this** expedition was… diplomatic.

It is! The relationship between Hyrule and… Kakariko Village… it’s… well… **politically speaking… **Kakariko is important because… I… really want copies of their historical texts. There! You can stop laughing now. {giggles reluctantly}

In all seriousness, I really should thank you.

For what? For your help with the council, of course! Sometimes, when I’m excited about something, I can get… well… I can… ramble. A bit.

{Sardonically}
Ha. Ha. You’re hilarious. At least I’m aware of it. I ** was** about to thank you for rescuing me from myself, but perhaps I’ve only traded one adversary for another?

{reluctant giggle}
Yes, it was fun to watch them stumble over their words. The way you sold the entire endeavor, it was masterful. My father himself would’ve been moved by your speech. {slower, mild solemnity} If… he was still around.

Hmm? What was he like? Oh, he was a great man. But… I suppose any daughter of a king would describe their father as such.

{thoughtful}
He… he loved his people. Everything he did, he did to prepare the kingdom for the coming Calamity. Even… when it came to me.

I often felt he was too hard on me. I wanted nothing more than to explore Hyrule, discover new technologies and magics. But he insisted I follow the path of… well… the Goddess.

{hesitant}
I’m really not fond of the subject. Being the living incarnation of the Goddess Herself makes interpersonal relationships… awkward. To say the least.

{realizing the listener doesn’t care}
And yet… it’s never seemed to bother you, has it?

You follow me around Hyrule collecting samples… updating maps… diving into dangerous ruins… Never once have you treated me as anything other than a companion.

{chuckling}
No, I don’t expect you to start bowing! You see? No one else teases me. Jokes with me. Treats me like a… like a person.

Thank you.

But, yes…despite the hardships, I know that my father did what he did because of the Calamity. He felt he couldn’t afford to allow me the luxuries of a normal childhood. But he did love me. I’m sure of it.

He assigned Link as my protector - my champion - because he was worried. {Doubting} Though… I suppose he may have considered it protecting a valuable asset.

Hmm?

You think so? Well, as I grow older, I think I tend to agree. It was a hard time. But I really do think he cared. I do think he loved me.

{sad sniffle}
Oh, it’s nothing. I think there might be pollen in the air. {sniffle}

You? {soft giggle} Yes, I think he would have approved of you.

My champion? So you’ll take up the sword to protect your princess? {initially giggling, then stopping quickly}

O-oh? You would? I… I wouldn’t volunteer so readily for such a task. Bokoblins lurk around every tree. Often times in them.

{feeling better}
Very well. But you know this isn’t a position your can retire from, yes? To be my champion is to dedicate yourself to me until death.

{mild shock}
You…? You shouldn’t tease me on such matters. Er..

Have… have you ever been to Karariko Village?

{indignant}
I am not changing the subject, we are riding to Kakariko Village, it is a pertinent topic of discussion.

It’s quite lovely. I used to visit it a lot as a child. Have you been?

No? Oh, then you are in for a treat.

It’s a Sheikah village. Yes! Like my Sheikah Slate. Though… the technology in that device is hundreds, perhaps thousands of years removed from the villagers we’ll meet. It’s as big a mystery to them as it was to me.

Precisely! There may be clues in their writing about the Slate and how their ancestors created such amazing technology.
{pause}
{mild offense}
No, of course not! I’m curious, but I would never try to rebuild one of those.. those… things. If I’m being honest, I still harbor a great shame for the enthusiasm I had about them when they were first unearthed.
{sad remembrance}
You don’t understand what it was like back then. They were so amazing. So well crafted. We thought the Guardians could be the solution to the Calamity.
{pause}

No, it’s alright. You didn’t mean anything by it. But, trust me, I’ve learned my lesson.

[SFX: crickets slowly growing over time]

The village is quiet lovely, though. It’s nestled in the mountains and surrounded by a forest filled with a magic aura. Locals say there’s a spirit that lives within. I’d love to take a night or two to explore.

Oh! We could camp in the forest overlooking Kakariko! Wouldn’t that be grand? We could search for spirits… collect flower samples… lie in the grass… watch the stars together…
{ahem}
Uh, well… there’s also a lovely inn as well. If… if you don’t feel like camping.

Oh! But be careful, you can get hurt if you’re careless. There’s a creature in the village that be quite dangerous if you aren’t paying attention.
{embarrassed}
N-no… it’s not a boar.

Not a bear, either.

It’s er… well… um…

They raise… er… cuccos.
{pouty}
Don’t laugh at me! Cuccos are dangerous! When I was a little girl I fell into a pen of the little monsters. They’re usually placid, but if you scare one they become quite violent.

I.. er… I fell on one.
{embarrassed laughter}
Stop laughing! I swear, I will throw you in the pen and see how you like it!
{reluctant laughing}
(SFX: crickets now much louder)
Hmm? Do you hear that? Oh! I think we must be getting closer.

No, Karariko is still a good ways off, but there is a lovely stop before that. The hot spring I mentioned last time.

No, I don’t hear the **hot spring**, but I recall a strange amount of restless crickets in the area.

Well, it stood out to me. This isn’t their usual habitat, so I didn’t expect to hear any, much less the choir of crickets we’re being treated to now.

It’s not that the area is inhospitable to them, clearly, only that it would be rather difficult to travel from their normal habitat to here. I wonder how they arrived. And in such great numbers! Perhaps a… a … a traveling insect merchant!

Yes… They captured a great many at the risk of their own lives. Determined to bring together a collection of Hyrule’s finest insects, she travels through the night, through storms, evading attacks by Moblins! But here, after falling to exhaustion, she turns to her cages. She releases her collection.

“Go,” she says to them. “Be free and return to the world you loved so much. Be free and tell the world of my deeds.”
{snickering}
Fine, you explain why there are so many crickets here! Ha ha! I think my version a valid base to start from.

The point is… I think we’re nearly to our first stop.

Hmm? Well, it’s not **that** late. The sun is still up. We might make it by nightfall. {sad realization} But we’d have to skip the hot springs.
(SFX: occasional people talking in the background)
I know. It’s just… a shame. It’s a beautiful little stop. The cherry blossoms… the crickets. It’s such a lovely little place. I didn’t get to stop last time I was through.

{excitement, quickly concealed}
Do you think? Um, well, I suppose an inn would be expected around here. Though that would throw off our timing.

But I suppose if **you** think it a good idea, perhaps we can take a look. It would be dangerous to ride too far at night.

Oh! You’re right. It looks like they’ve constructed a stable here! This is perfect.

This wasn’t here the last time I came through.

Well, I’d like to think I’d notice a building with a giant horse head atop it.
{amused giggle}

Oh! I once heard the heads atop these stables are supposed to be in homage to a sort of.. uh… horse… goddess. God? There’s no records in the castle’s library about it, but I heard varying stories from travelers and the stable owners themselves.

Of course everyone’s version is a little different. I’ve heard everything from it being a benevolent goddess that rewards good owners to a terrible… skeletal… demon that devours riders who mistreat their horses.

What do you think?
{pause}
Hmm… an interesting take. Assuming there’s any truth to the story, I should think it’s somewhere in the middle.
{mild concern}
Are you alright? You seem very quiet.

Tired? Oh, I’m so sorry. It never occurred to me, this might be longer than we’ve traveled before. You’re not used to it, are you?

Well, there’s only one thing for it.

(SFX: Hoof beats stop. Sound of dismounting horses)

Come on. I’ll take your horse. You … you… er… there! There’s a lovely little cherry blossom tree near the spring. Why don’t you take a rest while I get our horses checked in. Oh! Do you have any rupees on you?

No matter, I’m sure I brought enough. Go! Go! Sit down for a bit. I promise I’ll be quick.

{SFX: Hoof beats moving away, footsteps in the grass. Dropping onto the ground to sit}
{SFX: Wind blows. People chatting in distance. Crickets chittering, light sounds of water flowing}
(Zelda speaking far away, nearly inaudible. Should come across as her voice, but unable to make out the words clearly)
## Yes. Two horses. Thank you so much. And do you have beds here?

Can we get two?

What? Well, you see I have a companion. We need two.

I’d be glad to pay I just---

I see. Just the one then, I suppose.

Oh! You weren’t here the last time I came by. Is there a charge for the hot springs?

Oh good!

Yes, they really do belong to everyone.

Hmm? Towels? I suppose I would need one. Er… two.

(possibly loud enough to hear clearly)
How much?!

Fine, fine. Er… Here.

No, I think we’re good now. Yes. Thank you. ##

{SFX: Footsteps approaching}

My, don’t you look comfortable.

Perhaps we won’t need the beds. You can just sleep here.
{giggle}

Hmm? Oh, they’re towels. I thought it might be a good idea to try out the hot springs while we’re here. After all, you look so worn down.

Hot springs are good for you. The warmth relaxes the body… the minerals help revitalize the skin… the moisture clears the lungs… probably.

The point is, they’re delightful.

Here, take my hand. {grunting} (SFX: Standing) There we are.
{excited}
The springs are just this way, I know you’ll love it!

Have you ever tried one before?

Oh, you are in for a treat! It’s so relaxing. The entire world just… melts away.

You know, I once soaked at a hot spring near Death Mountain. It was the most incredible experience.
{indignant}
What? I most certainly did!

Yes, I’m quite aware of how hot it is there, I’ve been there!

For your information, there are special brews you can imbibe to protect you from the heat.

How would I feel the heat of the hot springs? Er… well…

That’s different! I… Alright, I’m not completely sure how the potion **works**, but I promise I did it.

Then I suppose I shall have to take you there, too, just to prove it.

{giggles}

You have to. You’re my champion, remember? Death Mountain is terribly dangerous, I’ll need your protection.

{giggles}

Thank you.

For… all of this. I said it before, but I really do appreciate it. You… you make me feel like a person. I appreciate that… you… more than I think you know.

Oh! Here we are. Doesn’t it look lovely?

(SFX: Chatter of people is gone. Just crickets and low sound of water flowing)

Yes, over here looks like a good place to get in.

Oh! Here’s your towel. Now we just need to -- er… oh. Um.
{muttering to yourself}
Right. I didn’t think this through.
{growing nervous}
Hmm? Oh nothing. I just… well… I suppose…to get in we’ll need to… to… uh… discard our … um…

(SFX: clothes stripping)
Oh my! You’re just… like that. And…

Oh, nothing! This… is just a ..uh… a side I’ve never seen of you before. {quietly} Literally.

Me? Oh, um… yes, of course. If we’re bathing in a hot spring we… uh… we can’t very well do it with all these.. clothes. Right?

(SFX: Clothes stripping)

Oh! A bit… brisk.

{SFX: soft water splash as listener enters the spring}

Oh… yes, I suppose it will be.. um… warmer in there. And less visible. Here I come!

{SFX: Bigger splash as Zelda hurries in}
{intermittent gasps, adjusting to the hot water}
Oh! Hot! Hot! Hot!

Ah! Ah…. okay… ah ah… there… ooo ooo….. yes…. Ah… Ahh….

There we are. Much… much better.

That uh… that first moment, yes? Quite a shock.
{self-conscious, nervous}
And… look at you. Smiling. Naked. You look quite comfortable.
Well, I did say it was nice, didn’t I?
{starting to relax}
Mmm… yes. I can feel my muscles turning to jelly. I feel as though I could just melt into spring.

I suppose we made it just in time. I hadn’t noticed the sun setting.

It would’ve been foolish to ride on to Kakariko Village tonight. This… this was the best option. I’m sure they’ll understand tomorrow.
{relaxing}
Mmm… so nice.

{uncertainty}

Do… do you really enjoy traveling with me?

You’re not just saying that? I promise, you can be honest. I won’t be offended.
{pause}
I... I enjoy it, too.

Before… I mean, way before… back when I was trying to find my power, I traveled a lot. I crossed all of Hyrule with a group of guardians. My champions.

But they were more to me than that. They were like… family. Urbosa, like a mother. No.. no… an aunt. Definitely more of an aunt. {giggle}

Mipha, like a dear sister. Revali… the … the annoying older brother. {giggles} And Daruk the **protective** older brother.

I was an only child, you know, so… it was like a second opportunity to experience a real family.

Oh, and of course there was… er…
{softly}
Link.

Hmm? Oh, no… not a brother. {almost sadly} I… I don’t know what he was to me.

He was certainly special. {quickly correcting yourself} Is! Is special. But… beyond being my protector? No… there wasn’t any more to it.

{deep breath}
Actually, I’ve heard there’s a girl at Kakariko that quite fancies him.

Rumors get around, you know. But, um… I suppose what I mean to say is… you remind me of those days.

At the castle I was the Princess. My father’s daughter. The heir to the power of the Goddess.

But when I was traveling, I was… Zelda. Oh, don’t get me wrong. They called me Princess. Except Urbosa. {fondly} She called me… Little Bird.

But they made me feel like a person. More than just some walking title, a quest to be completed. And when I travel with you… I feel like that again.

{very nervous}
I … I made a mistake once when I was travelling. Well, I suppose I made several. But there was one that haunted me for a great while. I still wonder to this day, if I had only spoken up, might I have changed things?

Well… what I mean to say is…

{SFX: Water shifting as Zelda scoots closer)
{nervous, but being brave}
I... I think the world of you. You… you’ve been the best friend I could ask for for so long now. And… and…

I...

I love you.
{long pause}

(SFX: water sloshing about)
Yes… by the Goddess, hold me.

I... I cannot tell you how I’ve longed to … to touch you. To feel you against me.

I was afraid you… well… you didn’t feel the same way.

{jubilation}
But… by the Goddess! I said it! And you’re still here! And… and… {softer} you are more lovely tonight than any sight I have ever beheld.

I’ve wanted to tell you for so long.

Well, it… it never seemed the right moment. And tonight, with the spring… and the way you’ve been teasing me… making me feel loved. I … I needed to say it.

{nervous again}
I... um… May I… may I kiss you?

I’ve never done it before. Er… kissing. You’ll be my first.

I’m sorry if I’m not good at it.

I just… I want to… {drifting off}

(SFX: soft, long kiss)
{pause}

That… was incredible.
{adorkably excited}
Can we do it again?

(SFX: kissing for several moments, water sloshes around)
(audible gasps during kissing)

Mmm… that was worth waiting a hundred years. {giggle}

(SFX: water slosh)

Mmm… and you are so comfortable to lay on. Why didn’t you tell me you felt so nice?

{giggles}

Oh, Goddess. I can’t believe I did that. I’ve faced down Lynels before and wasn’t as scared.

{laughing}
My… my… knees were literally shaking in the water!

But now… now I’ve said it. And you didn’t run away.

(SFX: kissing)

Oh yes… I think I can get used to that.

(SFX: Gentle water slosh as Zelda nuzzles)
Mmm….

A hundred years ago I wasn’t brave enough to say it. I don’t know if it would’ve saved the world, but it might have saved me.

I couldn’t make that mistake again.

Mmm… It couldn’t be more perfect. The stars above. The spring. The crickets. And you. It’s… perfect.

Perhaps we can just forget about Kakariko and stay here. Forever.

{giggles}

Yes, I suppose we should be awfully pruney if we lived forever in a spring like some sort of Zora.

But… I have you. Naked. My Goddess, you’re naked and I’m practically atop you!
{laughter}
What a night this is! I could not have predicted this with a thousand Shekikah Slates and a thousand libraries.
{a bit dizzy}

Oh my… I’m not sure if it’s the water… or you… but I’m feeling a bit faint now.

Yes, perhaps we … perhaps we should get out. As much as I loathe to part from you.
(SFX: water sloshing as they get out)

Yes, here are the towels. Oh my! Quite brisk, wouldn’t you say? {brr!} {shiver}

Oh, I did get us a room at the stable. I have the key around here… somewhere… ah! Here!

(SFX: walking in grass, murmur of people nearing)

Well, there is one thing… er… they only had one bed left.

{suddenly coy}
Is that… a problem?
