Chapter Text
She crashed through the palace doors, sending a gust of blue fire through the now exposed room. She seathed as she walked into the halls that she once would have killed to be seated in, but that was in the past, she has more important things to do here now. The ornate room was lined with imperial fire nation guards, she had to ready her next move.
Calm
She breathed in slowly, lifting her hand at the same time. The imperial fire benders started getting closer, their arms raised in a fighting stance.
It’s no use, that the creature currently sitting on the throne is not worth protecting
She knew they would not listen to her even if she told them what he had done. Hot blue lightning shot out of her hands, connecting with multiple of the fire benders at once. She then twisted her body to the side, watching more of the guards fall to the ground.
What a pity, the imperial fire benders were once the pride and joy of the fire nation
“Azula… wha… what the hell are you doing!” Zuko rose to his feet, readying himself for an attack.
Pitiful
“Oh Zuzu…” Azula purred, “I am here to kill you.”
Her amber eyes narrowed as she sent another blast of hot blue fire at Zuko’s head. He was easily able to deflect it, but she was anticipating that. She sent another blast at his legs while he was stepping back reeling from the first. Before he had time to do anything, his leg erupted in flames, and he fell to the ground screaming.
I need to make him suffer
Azula started to slowly approach Zuko, fire dagger in hand.
“You killed him Zuko… YOU KILLED HIM!”
She started to charge him when suddenly she felt a small prick on her left arm. Azula looked to her left just in time to see Mai standing there with her arm extended, clearly having just thrown something. Azula smiled.
“You Should have aimed for my… my…”
Black
Azula awoke to a small pitch black room. She was on her knees with her arms chained behind her back, an all too familiar position. Before she could do anything a small hatch opened on the thick metal door that stood in front of her.
“Azula are you…”
“What do you want Zuko… you can’t do anything to me that is worse than what you have already done.”
Zuko did not respond for a few seconds.
“You… you killed ten people… tried to kill me… why… why now?”
“You already know what you did.”
“Know what Azula! What am I supposed to know.” Zuko sighed, “Is this about you wanting the throne? I haven’t seen you for four years and you come back to kill me and take the fire nation for yourself… I should have known this would happen again eventually.”
“You really don’t know, do you Zuko?”
Azula started to laugh. The chains around her wrists finished melting away and fell to the floor. She stood to her feet and looked through the small opening in the door to see Zuko's eyes widen. She saw him step back, most likely trying to prepare for her next attack, but she didn't think he would see this coming. Azula lifted her hands and sent a blast of fiery air at the door. Zuko tried to get out of the way but it was no use, the door flew off its hinges and pinned Zuko’s arm to the halfway wall.
“Aaagh… Guards! Guards… someone help!” Zuko yelled while he tried to lift up his free hand to defend himself.
Azula saw guards rushing towards her from both ends of the halfway. She knew she needed to act fast.
“You want to know why Zuko? I will show you why.” Before Zuko could do anything to stop her, She placed her hand against his forehead.
