“Would you stop pacing?” Light grumbled, aggravated beyond belief as the chain swished between them. “Pacing isn’t going to change anything, y’know.”
“Oh, well, excuse me for being a bit anxious!” L snapped from behind his thumb, which was perched on the middle of his lips, like always. If it was possible, his eyes were even more severely sunken in and they looked as if they were rimmed with pure cobalt eyeliner.
“It’s annoying.”
“It’s annoying.” L mocked in a high-pitched tone, and Light resisted the urge to plant his fist smack in the middle of L’s snarling pale face. It wasn’t as if Light wasn’t anxious either after all, he just knew how to hide it better. And he knew he definitely didn’t sound that whiny!
“Just sit down.” He commanded, patting the empty space on the bed beside him. “Everything will be fine, I’m sure.”
“Oh, you’re sure?” L barked out a laugh. “Why? Because you’re Kira and you know how the events of tonight are going to play out?”
“....No? Haven’t you ever heard of comfort?” Light sighed, already imagining his percentage creeping up to the triple digits. “Who knows what will go right or go wrong? All I’m saying is that it’s irritating me and wearing a hole into the floor isn’t going to change anything.”
L muttered something unintelligible under his breath, which sounded suspiciously like an insult, and Light just rolled his eyes as the infuriating raven finally came to crouch beside him atop their bed. He picked at the chain for a moment, his eyes suddenly going to trail over Light’s form, and Light knew what was coming next before L had even opened his mouth.
“You up for another round?”
“Really?” He griped, throwing his hand up in exasperation. “I thought you were too busy planning for the apocalypse?”
“Hey, if I can’t pace I need something to take out my frustrations on.” L defended, and that only made Light’s lips curl into a sneer.
“Really? Wow, gee thanks.” He rolled his eyes. “You really know how to woo a guy.”
“Oh, I’m sorry, do we have something romantic going on? I must have been mistaken, hearing all of the times you told me this was just for ‘stress relief’ must have gone to my head, ignore me then. Would you like a bundle of roses or a box of chocolates for this evening?”
“You’d just eat the chocolates anyway.”
“I might let you have one...”
Light raised an eyebrow, and L just flung himself down onto the pillows in exasperation. “I’m so fucked, aren’t I?”
“By me, or...?”
“Shut up. I'm serious. What if Higuchi has some trick up his sleeve?”
“His badly wrinkled sleeve you mean? I wouldn’t worry.” Light snorted, shaking his head at the absurdity of the idea. “The man wouldn’t be able to tell his right foot from his left if someone else wasn’t pulling the strings, I’m surprised we didn’t catch him sooner actually.”
“Someone like...?”
“Don’t get cute L.” Light snapped, and L turned to him with a surprisingly thoughtful look drawn upon his distressed features. It makes Light feel somewhat like he is trapped, but also that he is sinking, and he swallows painfully and averts his eyes, the tension in the air is suddenly as thick as tar.
“Do you think anyone will die tonight?” L whispered. “Because I just have this awful feeling......”
Light looked away, for some inane reason having to clear his throat and blink away wetness gathering in the corners of his eyes. He didn’t want to have to think about that of all things, not when they were so close to solving the case. “No.” He lied, and he heard the uncertainty in his voice and panicked. “Let’s not think about that.”
And his and L’s eyes met, caramel irises dilating along with stormy grey ones, and suddenly their lips met. Well, it was as good a distraction as any.
“You know-” L panted between kisses. “-t-this will end after...tonight.”
“Yes." Light agreed, nodding his head as they smashed their mouths together again, ignoring how right it felt. “Definitely.” He tried to think of only how warm L’s lips felt against his, how when his tongue prodded at his lower lip he instinctively opened his mouth, and how the passion between them felt like an iron chord that could not be snapped.
“A-and we only have ten minutes to spare-”
“Give me five.”
“That’s...not an achievement-”
“Less yapping and more of your hand....fuck., there!” Light hisses lowly, words becoming tangled with the breath caught in his throat as L’s deft fingers slipped down his waistband and to his stirring cock.
“There are...so many things that could go wrong tonight.” L panted, his face flushed and his lips slick with their shared spit.
“S-so many.” Light stammered, his head tipping back as he rode through the waves of euphoria crashing over him. Fuck. Dammit. L’s hand shouldn’t feel this good, right? He reasoned that a talented hand was a talented hand, but this was so amazing it almost felt illegal.
Maybe it was the fact that their shared depravity spurred him on. Maybe the wrongness of this whole situation was what made it so tantalizing. Light had never done anything this risqué before, he had never dared step a single pinky toe out of line. Perhaps this is what everyone meant when they used the phrase ‘teenage rebellion.’
Hormones ran rampant through his bloodstream, his veins tingling, and he told himself that he was simply a frustrated teenage boy with no other outlets to unleash upon as he sunk his teeth into his lower lip to muffle a howl of pleasure.
And L’s dark eyes watched him owlishly, they looked as if they were picking him apart molecule by molecule. He felt like a rare specimen being studied, studied by dead eyes that held flecks of silver in the lowlight.
“Hngh...y-you’ve gotten better at this.” Light barely cranked out a smirk, he felt every muscle inside of his face contort as L’s lips and teeth and tongue latched back onto his neck and began tracing indecent patterns.
“And..” L breathed into his moist skin, the flesh tingled from where his teeth had barely left a nick, and Light somehow hoped there would be blood. “you’re so much more vocal now, it’s really-”
“Hot?”
“I was going to say annoying.” Light opened his mouth to respond to L’s teasing, but he felt his thumb dig into his slit unforgivingly, and he suddenly saw bright flashing stars dripping with bloods as colors of all kinds blinded his vision.
“Fuck L.....” He muttered, his dying lungs clawing air out of his throat, and his head slumped forward onto L’s shoulder, which always smelt distinctively like vanilla and fabric softener, except for now, when a touch of sweat and lusty sex appeal was added in. “Just like t-that....why a-are you still wearing your shirt?”
“You’re still wearing yours.” He pointed out, and then suddenly tore it off of him, making his point moot. “There, that’s better.” He responded with a toothy grin, and Light bit his lip. Surprisingly warm fingertips ran down his heaving chest, tweaking the buds, and Light sighed out blissfully.
“Hurry up, we haven't got all night.”
“The sun hasn’t even set,” L pouted playfully, struggling with his shirt so Light decided to be helpful and tear it off. L looked perturbed for a moment, but as his eyes narrowed in on Light’s squirming form, he shrugged. “Making love as the sun sets.” He whispered whimsically, as Light threaded the torn cotton between his fingers. “How romantic.”
“Shut up or I’ll rip your tongue out.”
“Kinky.” L purred, popping the button of his trousers off before he looked towards the ceiling. What was he waiting for, fanfare? “Should we put on some music?”
Apparently.
Light had had enough of his blasted teasing, so using all of his remaining strength he suddenly flipped himself on top of L, feeling the wind leave his body as they landed on the other side of the bed with an ungraceful oof.
“I told you that was a one time thing.” Light growled into his hips, taking the jean’s metallic zipper in between his teeth and tugging, and L grumbled. He really shouldn’t have been making such irksome sounds, didn’t he see what was about to happen below the waist?
“I could put on some Beethoven.”
“Okay, so, you’ve gone mad.” Light decided, smirking as he palmed L’s straining cock through his boxers and the man’s frown turned into an open-mouthed moan. He licked a wet strip down his stomach, all the way to the hem of his underwear, and because Light never did anything half-assed, he pulled that down with his teeth too. It tasted like sweat, but he was high on lust and probably some sort of hormone, so he hardly cared.
“The teeth better stop with my boxers.”
“Hm, we’ll see.”
“Eighty percent.”
“Keep that up and there’s an eighty percent chance I’ll leave you with blue balls.”
“You'd do that on the night of Kira’s arrest? How irresponsible-” Light once again cut L off by engulfing his throbbing member with his mouth, and he heard an obscene moan fill the empty air around him. He was especially glad that since they had been doing this for some time he had officially abandoned his gag reflex. He ran his tongue up and down L’s length seductively, hollowing his cheeks and humming, knowing that the vibrations were probably driving the detective insane.
There was a one hundred percent chance that Light was fucking incredible at head.
“Hngh....mmph...L-Light-kun....you’re such a good little cocksucker.” Light smirked around L’s dick as the man waxed poetic, his fingers threaded through his hair as he tugged, and Light’s sucking was the only thing louder than the gasps and pants. Feeling his own want neglected, he reached down his own pants and began stroking in time with his tongue’s swipes.
“G-good boy.....h-hey, do you think Higuchi would have any way of knowing Matsuda wasn’t really dead? I mean, he has connections, and if the supernatural is on his side-”
“What are you doing?” Light snapped, pulling off of L’s cock with a wet pop and pausing his own ministrations to cross his arms thinly over his bare chest. It was covered in sweat which was repulsive, but for now that was the least of his worries. “We’re kind of in the middle of something you asshole, I don’t want to think about Higuchi while your dick is down my throat!”
“It’s not my fault, I can’t just shut my brain down!” L defended, and though he was flushed and fucked out, he still somehow managed to fix Light with a look of haughty indignance. “I never stop thinking about the Kira case.”
“Can you try?” Light was very put-out that his mouth wasn’t being thoroughly appreciated, and slumped down onto his back.
“I don’t know, it’s kind of hard, especially with Kira’s mouth wrapped around my cock-ow!”
“Next time I’ll aim my hand a little lower.” Light threatened, suddenly flipping himself over and wiggling his ass invitingly in the air. “Come on sweetie, this was supposed to distract you from all of the Kira case nonsense.”
“Nonsense?” L parroted, but his throat did sound a little dry, and Light’s grin turned triumphant as he heard rustling behind him. “You...would think that....damn you look so fucking hot like this.”
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer.” Light snorted, but then turned around worriedly. “Not actually though.” Because L would do something ridiculous like that, he almost expected to hear the click of a shutter.
“I have an eidetic memory, there’s no need.” L quipped, and then Light yelped as he felt a hand smack across his backside, pins and needles suddenly spread and infested throughout his body as he almost leaned into the touch. “And that’s for mouthing off, brat.”
“Oh, like one little spank is gonna show me. Oooh, I’m trembling.” Light moaned, secretly hoping that he was goading L into doing exactly what he wanted in some reverse-psychology bet, and he was rewarded as his pants and boxers were swiftly pulled off and another punishing blow was laid atop his ass.
“You’ll be trembling in a minute.” He could hear the smirk inside of L’s voice without even needing to turn around. “I’ll make sure of it.”
Light shook his head, bangs flopping in his eyes as he chuckled under his breath. There was no need to make L’s enormous head even bigger after all. “That’s big talk for a man who couldn’t even enjoy a blowjob-ahh!”
He was quickly cut off by his own traitorous yelp of pleasure as L stuck a finger inside of him, curling the digit and raking it against his walls. A bolt of electricity shot up his spine, and he needed more. He pushed back against L’s finger, and was only given another slap to the thigh.
“Okay...that’s getting old now.” He panted, as L stuck another slick finger inside of him. “J-just fuck me already!”
“Patience is a virtue Light-kun.” L hummed and Light heard the tell-tale opening of a cap of lube.
“Don’t ‘Light-kun’ me y-you bastard!”
“Light-kun.”
“Gah! You’re infuriating, you know that?” Light hissed, and then that hiss turned into a strung-out moan as L’s fingers grazed his prostate. What was he complaining about again? He could hardly remember; his beating heart was striking against his ribcage unforgivingly and his head felt as if there was nothing inside but cool air.
“Oh, does that mean you want me to stop?” L purred, and Light’s clammy fingers dug into the bedsheets as those lovely fingers were pulled away.
“No! No!” He chanted, his head falling forward as he felt L’s fingers dig into his hip bones, hopefully leaving behind purple bruises. Those were always fun to gaze at in the mirror. It was a reminder of what they had, and in some ways, felt like a reward. The physical marks made everything that much more real.
“What’s the magic word then?” L whispered into the sweaty nap of his neck, and Light bit his cheek so hard that he soon tasted the warm metallic tang of blood.
“Abrakadabra?”
“God, you’re such a smartass.” L sighed, pressing a soft kiss to his backside. “I’ll just have to fuck the smartness right out of your ass, won’t I?”
“If you ever get around to it.” Light muttered petulantly, and then opened his mouth wide to let out a soundless scream, of ecstasy as L thrusted inside with one fatal blow, his balls were pressed flush against his backside and every cell inside of Light froze in a stunned pleasure. L let out a strangled gasp, his cock twitched wildly inside of him as he felt his fingers card through his hair only to grab a sizeable chunk and pull and fuck-
“Good!” Light whispered, his voice caught somewhere between pain and pleasure. “I w-was worried I’d be sitting here until I got old.”
L grumbled something garbled under his breath as he started thrusting slowly, and then Light suddenly felt himself being pushed onto his back.
“I wanna see your face.” L muttered, and Light was filled with some strange sort of happiness which surely must have been misplaced. He instead leaned up to press a soft, almost chaste kiss to the corner of L’s mouth and groaned into his skin as his steady pace resumed.
“D-does that makes I-it better f-for you?” Light asked breathily, flopping back down onto the mattress as the sensations overcame him. He stared blearily up at the pure white ceiling that seemed to be spinning, and the corners of his vision darkened as L struck into his prostate. He was deep, so deep, and Light could only weakly arch his back.
“I-I like to see your face when you come.” L smirked, his features contorted pleasurably as his fingers lightly wrapped around Light’s neck, and he only plunged in harder. “I think I like you best w-when nothing comes out of your mouth but moans.”
“Mm...I love it when you talk dirty.” Light teased wearily, feeling the muscles in his stomach tightening. “Whisper sweet nothings into my ear.”
L almost stilled inside of him at that, Light’s blood grew warm as his thrusts slowed and he growled into the shell of his ear. “I never want to lose you.”
“You won’t.” Light almost whispered silently, his nails digging into L’s back and dragging down, making the other hiss.
“Mmph.” He sighed into Light’s hair, as he felt that trickle of warmness fill him. “My good boy. My good...good...tonight's going to go great.”
“Yesssss.” He murmured, feeling his own release overtake him as clouds of pink and purple clouded his vision. He was swimming in some unknown but cool lake as the stars moved quietly across his sky and he could only feel L’s soft breath as it tickled his ear. “Everything’s....fucking great...fuck L...”
“God, Light.” L mumbled, collapsing on top of him as he kissed the tip of his nose lightly. “God...”
Light didn’t know if he was talking to him or not. It felt like he was.
It was these soft, silent, peaceful moments of serenity that made them who they were, but it also tore down the copious walls and barriers that they had put in place for survival. It made Light’s skin crawl with something that wasn’t entirely pleasant, but that also wasn’t very welcome. The lines between love and hate were often blurred, and for those coherent moments when Light understood what they meant to each other, he chose to banish those lingering thoughts and allowed his mind to go back to its blank slate, where he was ready to take on the world.
L’s weight against him was suffocating, but he thought that he’d like to die that way.
His stomach was also growing cold and sticky, and that made him push the raven off and sit upright.
“Well, that was certainly the distraction we needed.”
“.....Do you think there’s enough room to do it in a helicopter?”
“For fuck’s sake L!”
