Chapter Text
They set out early one summer morning, tasked with Surveying the damage done to the roads between Walls Rose and Maria.
Hange suspected it was minimal, titans were rarely destructive towards anything save humans. But as a precautionary measure they insisted to premier Zackley that themself and Levi take on the job. Alone.
They didn't want to risk any of the 104th, with whom they had become exceptionally close with over the previous year. And it would also allow for some alone time between the Commander and their Captain. Alone time was a rarity, something precious to be spent in quiet, intimate moments. But this mission would have to do.
“I doubt we’ll find much,” Hange said as they set out beneath the heavy steel teeth of the gate. The spiked shadows passed over the pair’s faces, marking them with momentary warpaint.
The clopping of the horses' hooves ceased as they passed onto thick, luscious grass. In the distance several deer were grazing along a wending stream. A warm summer breeze lifted their hair, tickling along their ears and the backs of their necks.
“It is a beautiful day for a ride, though. Isn’t it, Levi?” They turned in their saddle to face the Captain, beaming.
Levi hummed, glancing upwards towards the blue of the sky. The sun didn’t yet hang overhead, “It’s gonna get damn hot.”
Hange shrugged their shoulders, “Maybe, but we’ll finally get a little time to ourselves.”
They glanced at the tent rolled neatly on the back of Levi’s saddle. Normally the thin green canvas didn’t provide enough privacy for them to do much more than kiss. But this time around they were completely alone, isolated in the wilderness of their own volition.
Levi raised a raven brow, then wordlessly urged his horse into a trot, leading ahead of his Commander.
“Levi!” Hange called after him, heels digging into their own mount’s sides, “Wait!”
They followed the road for miles, until the sun hung hot and heavy overhead and their brows were greased with a fine sheen of sweat. The horses were panting softly, mouths foaming with need for water. The stream carried on beside the road for a ways, and Hange pulled their horse back into a walk, easing them over towards the water.
“They need a break,” The Commander said, and Levi followed wordlessly. They both dismounted and allowed the horses time to drink and cool off in the shade of verdant oak tree.
“No titans yet,” Hange commented, glancing left and then right. Not even a footprint. No signs at all.
“Zackley may be right,” Levi leaned against the rough bark of the tree, patting his forehead with a handkerchief. “Maybe we finally wiped them out.”
Hange sighed, sinking down the trunk beside him. They wrapped their arms around their knees, remembering how exhilarating the concept of titans had once been. Now, the horrible truth revealed, Hange Zoe was glad they were gone.
“I guess we didn’t need the ODM gear, huh?” They toyed with the buckle over their chest.
Levi shrugged his shoulders, “Better safe than titan shit, eh?”
“Titans don’t…” They looked up to find Levi staring down at them. Something hungry swirled in his slate eyes. Hange’s mouth went dry, lips struggling to form around words. “Why are you—
Levi hoisted them up to their feet by the front of their gear straps. He pressed his weight into them, backing them into the tree with his knee between their thighs.
“All alone out here,” he grunted, lips already ghosting his Commander’s throat. “No kids, no damn titans. Just us.”
“Just us,” Hange agreed breathlessly, fingers curling into his hair and angling his face so they could kiss him on the mouth. The kisses were more frantic than initially intended, more desperate as tongues dipped and teeth clashed sloppily.
Hange couldn’t contain their moans as Levi’s broad hands dropped between their bodies, first undoing their fly and dropping their pants before fishing his cock out of his own. It was strange, the speed with which they ravished each other, considering that they had all day and night to themselves. Yet neither of them seemed to be able to get enough.
Biting his lip, Levi lifted Hange off of their feet, urging their legs around his narrow hips as he pressed them backwards against the tree.
“Fuck, Captain ,” Hange giggled breathlessly, tucking their face into the crook of his neck as he aligned himself with their cunt.
“ Hange ,” He rasped their name as he sank into their warm, wet sheath, slate eyes rolling in his skull as he set a frantic pace. He hardly pulled out before sinking back in each time, hips snapping needily against theirs.
Hange nibbled the skin of his neck, leaving pretty bruises in their wake, unable to do anything but take in their current position.
Supporting them with a single arm, Levi dropped a hand to toy with their clit. His pale skin was flushed, handsome mouth parted with panted breath. Hange could tell by the expression on his face that he was already nearing his end.
Intentionally tightening around him, Hange urged softly, “It’s okay, Levi. Come.”
“Fuh…” His hips began to stutter, fingers circling more insistently on Hange’s clit.
“Mnn,” Hange shut their eyes, giving in to the sensations that tightened their muscles and sent heat pulsing through their core. They came softly, quietly, tightening up around Levi’s cock as he buried himself with one final thrust and came.
For a moment they remained that way, locked in an embrace against the bark of that tree. A few feet away one of the horses whickered softly, enjoying a mouthful of grass.
Hange grinned, unwrapping their legs from around Levi’s narrow hips, “The poor horses saw all of that.”
Levi glanced at them, taking a step back and tucking his spent cock into his trousers, “I don’t think they give a shit, four-eyes.”
Hange began to right themself as well. Beginning with their pants, then their gear straps, and finally their boots.
“I have to say, short-stuff, I wasn’t expecting that.”
Levi swallowed thickly, flushing and looking off into the distance, refusing to meet Hange’s knowing gaze, “You looked… I don’t know. You’re fucking pretty, alright? Handsome. Charming. Whatever .”
Playfully, Hange mimicked throwing locks of their over their shoulder, “Was is the sunlight in my luscious locks, Captain? Or was it the way my eyes sparkle in the—
“ Shut up ,” He crowded them back into the tree again, throat bobbing, teeth showing. Then he kissed them, slow and easy. They took a few moments to enjoy each other that way, before they parted.
Flushed, Hange cleared their throat, “We’d better get back to surveying the roads or we won’t finish on schedule.”
“Yeah,” Levi grunted in bashful agreement.
They carried on for miles. Finally parting from the stream and entering a copse of tall, dark trees. Evergreens, their needles shining in the midday sun.
They did encounter some damage there, footprints set deep into the cobble of the road. Hange noted them, marked the mile, and sketched them briefly in an old research notebook.
Levi looked on with his arms crossed over his chest, ostensibly standing guard, though there was nothing really to stand guard against.
Eventually they cleared the forest, the sun beginning its slow descent overhead, and met up once more with the sparkling waters of the stream, which somewhere along their departure had morphed into a river.
They paused to let the horses drink again before carrying on until nightfall.
The horizon was painted a dozen shades of pink and orange and violet as Hange watched the sun set. Overhead brilliant stars were beginning to flash their radiant faces, and the moon tinted the far horizon a silvery white color.
Levi pitched the tent and spread out their sleeping bags as Hange prepared their rations for the evening. A few meager hardtack biscuits, some cured meat, and bone broth heated in thermoses over the fire.
They ate in comfortable silence, and once they were done Levi brewed a small kettle of his favorite black tea; a new import for Marley. It had hints of rose and citrus, things Hange had never before associated with the drink.
“This stuff is good,” Hange commented, sipping through the scalding heat of the liquid. Nearby the horses were settled in, tied to a log for the night. Crickets were chirping all around them, fireflies speckling the air like weak-willed stars. The sun had long since set, leaving them with no light but their fire and the radiant face of the moon.
Levi hummed in agreement, happily sipping from his own metal cup.
“I was surprised that we found any infrastructure damage at all,” Hange said, resting their cup in the grass. Steam billowed around its rim. “And obvious footprints, at that!”
Levi grunted, “I’d bet it was one of those damned titan shifters. Always so histrionic.”
The Commander nodded in agreement, “I know it wasn’t Eren, but I suppose we can’t say what Bertholdt and Reiner were getting up to, let alone the beast.”
Levi watched them intently over the rim of his cup as they began to rattle off the known parameters and locations of each titan shifter through time.
“What?” Hange asked, curling in on themself defensively. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Levi stood up skirting around the fire and coming to rest in the grass beside his Commander.
“It’s just been a while since I’ve seen you go titan crazy, shitty glasses.”
“There hasn’t been much to get crazy about,” Hange countered. “I’m not sure if you’ve noticed, Captain, but the world is—
Levi closed the narrow distance between their lips and kissed them, silencing them. The light of the fire danced against their skin as Hange leaned into the kiss, fingers winding into the dark locks of his hair, feeling along the stubble of his undercut. Shadows gathered between their lips, under their eyes as the kiss deepened and Levi began to tug his partner backwards towards the tent, never parting from them.
Hange’s tongue traced along his, and as soon as they were through the canvas of the tent flap they rolled Levi onto his back, holding him down by the front of his shirt as they began to trail kisses along his jaw and throat.
“Love you,” Hange exhaled against his skin. “So much.”
They could feel him straining through the front of his pants, and despite being slightly sore from Levi’s roughness earlier in the day, Hange was wet and eager once more.
“ Commander ,” Levi groaned as they pulled his shirt over his head, revealing the pristine musculature of his scarred torso. Hange kissed along those scars reverently, tracing them with the tip of their tongue.
“No teasing,” Levi begged more than commanded as Hange looped their fingers into his belt loops and began to peel his trousers down his muscular thighs. His cock sprang free, angry and leaking from the tip.
Hange ignored it until they had stripped their Captain completely bare, then they took him promptly in hand and gave a few lazy strokes.
“You’re such a beautiful man,” Hange murmured, mostly to themself as they watched his expression shift with pleasure.
Levi ground his teeth, sitting up and pulling Hange away from his cock.
He kissed his Commander hungrily, fingers working steadily on the buttons of their shirt as he went.
Hange hummed into his mouth, shrugging off the shirt once the final button was undone. Levi’s fingers paused for a moment over their breast bindings, knowing it to be a sensitive area for them.
Can I? His slate eyes entreated.
Hange nibbled their lip, nodding, a deep flush spreading across their cheeks as Levi pulled away each strip of bandaging until their breasts were left exposed to the cool night air. Their nipples peaked, and Levi pressed his lips to each one before shifting his attention to the fly of their pants.
He pulled their zipper down with his teeth, eyes flashing as his fingers worked the button free.
“Fuck, Levi,” Hange moaned, shutting their eyes momentarily as they felt him drag the fabric over their pants and underthings down their legs. Their boots came free of their feet, and suddenly they were just as naked as he was.
He licked a hot stripe up the center of their cunt before crawling back up their body. His dick was poised at their entrance, visibly throbbing in the cool air.
“Is this okay?” He asked softly, lips ghosting the shell of their ear before pressing to their jaw.
Hange nodded enthusiastically. It was more than just okay .
With a shuddering sigh, Levi sank into them, ducking his face into the crook of their neck as it scrunched with pleasure.
“Nng,” he set an easy pace, slowly working in and out, but still punching little noises of enjoyment past Hange’s lips as he worked.
“That’s good,” Hange murmured, head rolling as they were stretched to capacity. Their fingers traced down the line of his spine, feeling along his switching muscles before sinking into the globes of his ass encouragingly.
Their hips began to raise to meet his, wet noises filled up the tent as they met again and again.
The build began to intensify exponentially as Levi began to cant his hips more insistently. The head of his dick brushed against something sensitive with each egress.
“Right there,” Hange rasped, lips ducking to brush the shell of his ear. “Don’t stop.”
He didn’t. Instead he began to work himself more insistently against that damned spot, making Hange see colors, making their knees tremble around his waist.
“‘M close,” the Commander warned, nails dragging from the firm globes of his as up to grip his shoulders. “‘M so close, Levi.”
“Already, four-eyes?” He panted, and he sat back on his haunches, pulling one of their long legs up and over his shoulder. The angle wasn’t as deep, but the head of his cock pressed insistently into that spot.
Using their leg for leverage, he began to pump his hips once more. A bead of sweat that had gathered on his temple dropped onto their abdomen.
Hange watched his expressions closely, insides tightening as his head rolled, eyes slipping shut with pleasure.
Hange came with an unbridled shout, nails digging into Levi’s shoulders as they quivered and writhed around him. Levi’s finger’s dented their calf as he fucked them through it, biting his lip until their cunt settled into that tight, post orgamic squeeze.
His cheeks puffed, head bowing as his cock twitched and he finished inside of his Commander.
Tumbling forward, Levi rested with his head tucked into Hange’s throat, breathing deeply against their skin. Hange ran their fingers soothingly through his hair, feeling his cock soften and then slip out.
“That was good,” The Commander said, peering up blankly at the fabric of the tent. “I needed that.”
“So did I,” Levi answered, and he rolled onto his side, tugging Hange along with him. He kissed their hair as they settled against his bare, sweat damp chest. “Damn kids make it nearly impossible…”
He was cut off by his own yawn.
Hange slapped his chest playfully, “Don’t blame them. Blame the paper thin walls at HQ, or Zackley for assigning our rooms so far apart.”
Levi only hummed, slate eyes slipping shut. Hange gathered the sleeping bag around them, pulling it around their shoulders before settling into their Captain’s chest once more.
Sleep came easy.
But the tea that night had not been laced with the usual contraceptive.
