Mad World

Summary:

Fallon wakes up in a coma.

A coma that has her questioning her reality, fighting for her life, and rekindling old flames... Flames that should never have blown out in the first place.

Notes:

PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS JUST A PREVIEW OF MY NEXT MULTICHAPTER.

I will post it once A Star is Born is fully completed if enough people seem interested.

It is canon compliant with the current storyline. (the shit one)

Work Text:

Fallon's eyes glance at her reflection in the mirror, making contact.

It's impossible how real this world feels to her. How can she be here? Living, breathing, feeling pain, feeling pleasure... Yet, it's all in her head. Somewhere her imagination has placed her whilst her heart fights to beat and her lungs struggle to breathe.

The only connection she feels to the real world is the coldness that seeps through her bones, and that coldness never goes. It lingers, always, and she shivers constantly, begging to feel the warmth again. Begging to feel alive again.

Fallon takes a deep breath in, sighing as she exhales.

She forgot something important today and whilst she's no doctor, she knows deep down that it means that her brain is no longer making connections.

It's slowing down.

It's dying.

But she can't die, and she must not, under any circumstances, forget.

The idea of her forgetting her real life and succumbing to this place makes her heart squeeze unfairly in her chest.

So, that leads her to here, documenting it all, praying that none of her self-constructed family members roots through the voice note app on her phone, or she'll be deemed even more crazy than she already is.

Her eyes flutter closed for a brief second, hitting the play button once they reopen, and she brings her phone close to her lips, speaking confidently.

"My name is Fallon Carrington. I've just been shot and that bullet has sent me back to 2018. I may be one second away from life, or one second away from death. They say that before you die, your life flashes before you, all those memories and mistakes that form us. Well, bring it on. My life can flash away as much as it likes because I am not going to die. I'm coming home to you, Liam. I promise, I will wake up."
