Chapter Text
Asriel pulled a rolling suitcase behind him to the driveway in the late morning. The sun was shining brightly, he was dressed for the autumn, and he had a filling home-cooked breakfast to finish off the summer break before classes started back up. In his case there were plenty of clothes to last him, so long as he took care of them. The tall young monster effortlessly hefted the suitcase into the trunk of his mother’s car.
A moment ago, in their room, his brother, Kris was right behind Asriel with his own suitcase to haul. Asriel was so anxious about leaving for another semester, he had hardly noticed Kris wasn’t at his heels to help him load the next load of luggage. After another moment, Kris had made their way to the threshold of the front door. The smaller human was clearly struggling with the case nearly as large as they were, trying to yank the wheels clear of the door and onto the porch itself. Asriel left the car to give Kris a hand.
“Sorry, I should’ve checked which one was the heavier of the two.” He felt bad for making his little brother take the heavy case. “I’ve got it from here, okay?” Asriel got a hand on the grip of the case and lifted it with ease that caught Asriel off-guard. This one was, in fact, the lighter one.
“Stop.” Kris mumbled under their breath, pulling on the suitcase to keep Asriel from taking it from them. “I’ve got it.”
“Ah… Sorry, Kris.” Asriel released the handle and let the case drop back into Kris’ arms. Another drop of guilt hit his gut. He smiled sheepishly down at his brother. “You don’t need me. You’re getting pretty strong yourself.” He reached down to pat Kris on the head, stopping short when Kris’ eyes snapped up to Asriel, pink and glistening with newborn tears.
Asriel didn’t know what to say. Kris was emotional the last time he left, too. He didn’t want to leave them alone again, but he couldn’t always be there for them. He stared wordlessly back at Kris who held his gaze with their own pained look for another moment before he dragged the luggage past Asriel and to the car. With some effort, Kris managed to hoist it into the trunk and slam it shut.
“Thanks, Kris-” As Kris came back, Asriel opened his arms to hug his brother and say goodbye, but they stomped right past Asriel and stormed deeper into the house. Kris must have been really upset this time, he thought to himself.
Toriel, who was in the driver’s seat of the car, opened her window as she saw her son left hanging. “Is everything well, Asriel?”
“Yeah,” the eldest son called back, smiling and rubbing the back of his head. “I’m gonna go talk to them and make sure they're okay. Do you mind waiting a little longer?”
His mother’s smile, even in the mirror of a car, was reassuring enough for him. “I will keep the car warm!”
In their shared bedroom, Kris sat on Asriel’s bed in the dark, the curtains drawn and the lights off. Their hands rested in their lap, head hanging to obscure their eyes in their chestnut hair. As Asriel opened the door to the room, Kris turned their head in the opposite direction to hide the tears that began to roll down their cheeks.
“Hey, Kris…” Asriel cracked the door open, casting a ray of light from the hallway onto the sorrowful form on his bed. When he was met with no response, he opened it to clear the way for himself, stepping into the dark room.
Kris said nothing in response. They were trying not to breathe to keep Asriel from hearing their breath hitch in quiet sobs.
“Listen…” Asriel took a closer step. “I’m sorry, Kris. I don’t want to leave either. I know it’s not easy, but…”
Kris still hadn’t responded or moved.
“But I’ll be back before you know it, okay?”
After a long, silent moment, Kris turned to look up to Asriel, streaks of tears rolling down their face. Asriel smiled with relief, but Kris’ attention soon turned away from him again. Seeing his little brother so depressed was difficult. Kris was never one for conversation to begin with, but the two of them were so close, they could understand how one another felt without words. It was just a brother thing, Asriel had always thought.
“... I’ll miss you.” Kris whispered.
Asriel’s own eyes were starting to feel wet as he heard Kris’ admission. He knelt at the bed and wrapped his strong arms around Kris’ little body gently, and to Asriel’s relief, Kris fell against him and embraced him as well. “I’ll miss you too, buddy… Is there anything you need from me before I go?”
Kris’ arms fell away from Asriel, releasing him from the hug and letting Asriel do the same. Their hand clutched Asriel’s shirt as he went to stand, preventing him from straightening.
“Give me your shirt.” Kris’ demand was quiet, but authoritative.
Asriel’s brow furrowed, a quizzical smile on his face. “My shirt?”
“Yeah,” Kris responded. “I like it.”
Asriel looked down at the shirt he had on. It was nothing special, just a black tee that had somehow survived the years without a tear or a hole, and it was extra comfortable. “You uh… want the shirt I’ve got on, Kris?”
The little brother nodded their head, tugging on the shirt.
“Are you sure, Kris? I mean, I wore this shirt to sleep last night…” Asriel chuckled shyly.
“Please, Azzy. I’ll give it back.”
Asriel couldn’t put up much resistance after hearing that nickname coming from Kris. It was quite the secret weapon. He sighed, shaking his head with a grin. “Alright, buddy. You can borrow it. Just ah, don’t mention it to mom, okay? She’s bought me too many shirts as it is.”
Kris nodded their head quickly, their feet swaying off the edge of the bed in anticipation. Asriel wondered why they’d be so eager to take his shirt, there were plenty of his shirts around that he didn’t pack, but he didn’t want to upset his little brother any further. He’d just grab a different shirt before leaving.
“Alright, no peeking.” Asriel joked and turned his back. He discarded his coat onto Kris’ empty bed, and in a second, had pulled the plain old shirt off of his white-furred back. As soon as he did, another nearly identical shirt from a nearby drawer took its place.
Instead of honoring their brother’s request, Kris’ eyes wandered Asriel’s body. He was so tall and fit, so handsome and tight. Their hands were shaking now. They wanted to get up and hug their brother. They wanted to wrap their arms tightly around his waist and rest their ear against his back and listen to his heartbeat. They wanted nothing more than to stand up and touch his bare body, feel his fur glide between their fingers and press their small palms against the firmness of his hips. How badly they wished Asriel could stay. They needed their big brother. Instead, they remained still on the bed, only watching.
“Alright…” Asriel turned back to Kris, picking the discarded shirt up and presenting it to them. “You sure you still want this, Kris? I mean, it’s got my fur all over it now.”
Kris didn’t hesitate in snatching the shirt away from him, surprising Asriel. They hugged it tightly to their chest. “Thanks, Azzy.”
Asriel felt his heart melt again. He ruffled his palm against Kris’ hair, tousling it and even getting a smile out of Kris. “I’ll see you later, Kris. I’ll call when I get there and let you know I’m safe.”
“Okay.” Though Kris’ eyes were still pink, the gentle smile on their face set Asriel’s mind and heart at ease. “Bye, Azzy.”
The door closed, leaving Kris in the dark of the room. The sound of a car door shutting and the vehicle being driven away penetrated through the walls. Suddenly, Kris began kicking at their shoes, hurriedly pulling them off and letting them fall onto the floor. Once they were off, they threw themselves back onto Asriel’s bed.
Kris wriggled their way into Asriel’s blankets, their head on his pillow. They could still catch his scent on them. At last, they brought Asriel’s shirt to their nose and inhaled deeply. Their scent was so fresh on the shirt, it drove them wild.
“Azzy,” Kris moaned out. They could hold it back no longer. Kris’ hand dove underneath the covers and stripped themselves of their pants. Their throbbing cock sprang free and they immediately wrapped their fingers around it, squeezing a drop of fresh precum out of the tip.
“Azzyyy…” It was hard when Asriel wasn’t there, but masturbating was not much of an option when he was sleeping only on the other side of the room. It was painful standing by Asriel’s bed, watching him sleep, desiring nothing more but to crawl in with him and wake him up with a kiss, or something else. Now, they could finally sate themselves to thoughts of their big brother. They didn’t care if it was wrong. They loved him. They wanted to be by his side, always. They wanted to drown in his scent, taste his kisses and make him cum.
Kris’ shaft throbbed in their hand. It was so hard and so in need of release, it felt like burning metal between their fingers. Their free hand pressed the fabric of Asriel’s shirt to their face, huffing his scent deeply. They shut their eyes and pretended the blankets over their shoulders were Asriel’s arms. Their legs began to kick, moans climbing in volume as the pleasure climbed their body. Asriel’s scent, the touch of his pure white fur, and the fresh memory of his voice and affection all filled Kris with intense need.
“Azzy!” Finally, Kris cried out and arched their back, cum spurting hard out of their cock and splattering the inside of the covers. Kris pumped and pumped, their eyes rolling back as the pleasure overwhelmed them, soaking Asriel’s sheets in his seed. They huffed and moaned all the way through their release, their entire body tingling with lingering satisfaction as they finally let their body give out, dropping down onto the bed with only their gentle breath to fill the air.
A minute passed. Though Asriel wouldn’t return for a few months at the least, Kris was at peace. They would wait as long as they had to. The scent on this shirt would run out someday and they’d need a new one.
Another minute passed. The realization that Asriel’s sheets were soiled by their own hand hardly bothered Kris. They’d wash them and tell Toriel that Asriel had asked them to do them. Kris draped Asriel’s shirt over their face, letting the smell of their big brother envelop their senses once more. It was bliss, but a lonely bliss. Kris closed their eyes, melting into Asriel’s bed to dream of what they had wanted so badly to do with him for so long.
