Mingyu and Soonyoung have been dating for six years now. They crossed paths at a coffee shop where Mingyu was a barista and Soonyoung was a struggling Zoology major student in the nearby university. Mingyu had instantly taken a liking towards the guy who had a tiger themed phone case along with a tiger keychain, and oh how could he forget the guy’s notebooks that too was tiger themed, Soonyoung had been no better since he was checking out the barista who made his order daily too. The guy was unexceptionally handsome. While studying in the café, Soonyoung would see many beautiful girls trying to woo the handsome barista.
One day, feeling courageous, Mingyu slipped his phone number with Soonyoung’s coffee and that had been the turning point in their story. They started meeting outside the café. Mingyu soon discovered the older’s obsession with tigers. Soonyoung was so obsessed with tigers that he had photos of tigers as his home screen and lock screen wallpaper, he also considered himself himself as one -let’s ignore the fact that Soonyoung’s best friend, Jihoon, thinks that Soonyoung needs to get himself admitted to a mental hospital for the same- and yes, Soonyoung chose Zoology as his major because of his love for tigers. On their little not-so-dates-but-dates Soonyoung had a lot to talk about tigers and Mingyu would listen to him with heart-eyes.
It didn’t take them long to discover their feelings for each other and work on them. Within a year, the two started dating. Mingyu still worked at the café and the beautiful girls who were unaware about him dating would still hit on him. One day when a girl asked out Mingyu for his contact information, Soonyoung, being the jealous tiger he was, got up from his place and made his way to the counter, sweeping past the girl to make his way over to Mingyu and said, “Babe, I wanted to say, I love you because I know I’ll miss you the most while I attend my lecture.” Mingyu’s cheeks dusted a light shade of pink and he mumbled a quick ‘I love you too, hyung,’ before Soonyoung left the café while side-eyeing the girl who was the reason for this chaos.
Together Soonyoung and Mingyu crossed many milestones of life. Like from Soonyoung being a mere zoology major who visited the café Mingyu worked at for studying to the younger joining him in his graduation ceremony. From being a handsome barista in a café to becoming a handsome owner of the café, Soonyoung witnessed it all. They stood firmly in every decision the other took, they quietly heard every complaint of each other, they warmly comforted each other in their low times, and most importantly, they were there for each other. Their relationship grew like a tree, roots deepening into the soil as day passed by and happy memories budding like leaves on the branches.
After being together for six wonderful years, Soonyoung proposed to the younger in the most horangi style and Mingyu being the whipped gay he is, accepted the proposal. Since that day, Soonyoung has become restless, he keeps thinking on how to make the wedding perfect . Mingyu always tries his best to calm down the older but the older would go back to worrying and thinking after calming down for a while.
Now both of them are at their pre-wedding photoshoot and the photographer was having a hard time taking photos of Soonyoung. Soonyoung was unnatural and very tense while clicking the photos. The photographer told Soonyoung to rest in the vanity and started the shoot with Mingyu. When Mingyu was done with his shoot, he came to the vanity.
“Hyung, the photographer wants to do your individual shoot.” Mingyu said, looking at Soonyoung who was restlessly shaking his legs.
“I’ll do my best this time. Our wedding has to be the perfect wedding.” Soonyoung said, getting up from his place.
As Soonyoung was about to open the door of the vanity, Mingyu stopped him by holding his hand and said, “Hyung, our wedding doesn’t have to be perfect, it needs to be happy, full of happy memories we can tell our future kids. So relax and be yourself, a fearless tiger I have known for almost seven years now.”
Soonyoung looks at Mingyu with teary eyes and Mingyu just smiles at him and pulls him into a tight hug, the younger pats the older’s head as the other hand traces incoherent shapes on the older’s back and said, “I know the wedding will be perfect because I am marrying you so be the horangi I am in love with and eat the photoshoot, you can do it hyung!” Soonyoung just nods his head from his position.
When Mingyu backs away from the hug, Soonyoung with the prettiest puppy -oh, I mean tiger- eyes said, “Watch me shoot, please.” Mingyu smiles wide and leads his fiancé back to the set.
Soonyoung was doing perfectly fine, Mingyu could see him steal glances. After a while when Soonyoung relaxed pretty well, he did his infamous pose, the tiger claw pose, making Mingyu chuckle at his cuteness.
Soonyoung’s photoshoot passed smoothly and when it was finally done, Soonyoung went to his fiancé and hugged him tightly.
“Horanghae.” Mingyu said as he kissed the crown of his fiancé’s head. “Nado.” Soonyoung said and broke the hug. The elder smiled widely before tiptoeing and catching Mingyu’s lips with those of his. Both of them were smiling in the kiss, busy savoring each other to notice the photographer clicking the picture-perfect kiss.
