Emma was working at her desk feeling bored doing paperwork Regina requested her to do. She sighed heavily as she filled out the forms when she heard a door open. She looked up to see who it was and chuckled, glad for the interruption.
"Hi Emma!" Her 10 years old son Henry came in and sat in front of her. "What are you doing today after work?" he asked.
Emma smiled, "I don't know Kid. Probably go to Granny’s as usual.Why? "
"Just wondering because my mom has to work late today so I thought I could hang out with you."
Emma smiled, "Sure, let me finish this up okay? "
Henry nodded, "Okay!"
About an hour later, Emma and Henry entered Granny’s and walked to a booth, sitting down.
Ruby walked up to them, "what can I get ya? " She smiled knowingly at them.
"Two hot chocolates with cinnamon and one order of fries please." Emma replied as she glanced at her phone noticing someone had messaged her.
So Miss Swan, Henry told me you both are at Granny’s. Make sure you guys don't order unhealthy food that will spoil your dinner tonight.
Emma rolled her eyes and sighed. It didn’t matter that she knew she was falling in love with Regina and didn’t know how to admit it to her and say those 3 words. She answered her text.
Gina relax, we are just having hot chocolates and fries. Are you implying that you want me to be there for dinner?
"So Henry, do you have homework to do before I take you home?" She remembered that he has to do homework when he spends time with her in the afternoons.
"Nope! I'm free. Miss Blanchard gave us a free night with no homework." He smiled as Ruby brought their orders over.
*Here ya go, is there anything else y’all need?"
Emma smiled, “nope we are good thanks!"
Beep! Emma glanced at her phone and smiled when she got a response from Regina.
Yes Emma you can come over for dinner tonight.
Emma smiles again and tells Henry that she'll take him home.
Afterwards, Emma walked into the mansion with Henry, with a grin on her face.
"Mom, we're here!" Henry said as he walked into the kitchen to see what his mother was cooking for dinner.
"Henry! " Regina kissed his cheek and smiled at Emma, her heart leaped as Emma walked in behind Henry, "Em-ma, do you want some apple cider before we eat?" she couldn’t seem to tear her eyes away from the blonde.
Emma smiled, seeing the way the brunette was looking at her. It did things to her. "Sure, and besides, I need to talk to you about something after hmmm… " She glanced at Henry and looked back at Regina to give her a hint.
Regina understood clearly. "Sure thing dear, let me get you the drink and check on dinner. "
Hours later, Regina and Emma began kissing on the couch until Emma pushed back and glanced at Regina, "um, Regina… I need to ask you something and please tell me the truth," she needed to know where things stood between them before they could move forward.
Regina looked at Emma, seeing that she seemed worried. "sure, what is bothering you?" Regina asked.
“When we made love in the Sheriff's office, did you feel something happen when we… you know?” Emma asked as she looked at Regina.
Regina glanced away, she remembered the thing that happened. She’d been surprised at what happened as they reached their climax, but had thought nothing of it at the time. “It is nothing for you to worry about.” She shifted to get up; but before she moved, Emma grabbed her and forced her to stay put and looked at her for a straight answer.
“Regina you know I have the power to tell when someone is lying and you are doing that right now so please tell me the truth.” She wasn’t going to let her go until she got her answer.
“Okay, uh...the thing you felt was magic.” Regina sighed and looked away because she was afraid of how Emma would react to that.
“What? Magic?! But.. how?” Emma blinked her eyes and was confused by what she was hearing.
“Emma, you are my true love, that's why we both felt it and it is quite possible that you couldt be pregnant because I kind of accidentally put my magic in you while we were making love. I didn’t realize it was supposed to happen between us! I did my research and… I am so sorry!” Regina stood up and walked to pour some apple cider to calm her nervousness with her back facing Emma.
Emma was shocked and didn’t know what to respond to what she’d just found out. She stood up and walked over to Regina and she put her hand on the small of her back and felt her shaking. Emma pulled Regina into her arms and held her close for a few minutes until she calmed down. She digested everything, trying to tell herself that she was okay.
“Gina, it’s okay. It will be okay.” She whispered into her ear as she was soothing her.
“I didn’t mean to do that to you, without telling you Emma.” Regina looked at Emma.”I had to do some research and find out… I needed to know why...”
Emma leaned forward and kissed Regina passionately to prove to her that she was not angry with her.
Regina gasped in relief as she melted in Emma’s arms and kissed her back with a need, a desire to be alone with her lover. She knew she was in love with her. Suddenly, a powerful whoosh went through them, spreading out in a rainbow of colors as they shared a true love’s kiss.
“Mom!!” Henry came down the stairs and stopped as he saw his parents kissing and they quickly moved apart as they looked at Henry, surprised that they were caught.
“What is going on?” Henry asked.
Regina and Emma looked at each other as they tried to figure out what to say to him.
