“See this ,” Quark groaned as he struggled against his bonds, “Is why I don’t like to spend time with you!”
“Oh, trust me. I’m not enjoying this either,” Odo stretched out his arm, trying to reach the door, but to no avail, “This is all your fault, Quark.”
Quark whirled his head around, straining to look at the Changeling.
“What do you mean it’s my fault! You’re the one who had to run your mouth off!”
“ My fault! How is this my fault? You were the one who was smuggling illegal substances!”
Quark scoffed and turned away from Odo, muttering something about false accusations.
Odo, in the meantime, surveyed their surroundings. They’d been taken from their runabout by a group of unidentifiable smugglers and unceremoniously shoved into a cargo hold and tied up. Ordinarily, they could’ve already escaped but since Odo had been forcibly transformed into a human, they were stuck.
“Hey, Odo,” Quark said after a while, “Do you think we will get out of here?”
“Stupid question,” Odo scoffed, “ Will we get out of here ?”
“Well?”
Odo didn’t respond. Truthfully, he wasn’t sure. He knew that he wasn’t high on Captain Sisko’s rescue list. Quark was even lower. All that wrapped around the fact that he hadn’t told anyone that he was going after Quark made their chance of rescue slim.
It seemed their only hope of rescue was dependent on Rom. And that didn’t relieve Odo at all.
