a group of 7 people was strolling in a street full of lively people. namely yeji, lia, eunbin, shuhua, karina, winter, and jeno. they were in namsan and are celebrating their fifth year of being friends. in the surface they may be laughing and reminiscing but little did they know that this anniversary will be bloody.
it was a calm before the storm.
arriving at the inn they are staying, they each ran to their designated room. all except one.
they were all gathered in one place to play games, a typical night for their friendship anniversary. karina brought out wines and sojus for their drinks as they had fun with each other along with the night that deepened their drunkness. they were having fun until lia suddenly dropped to her knees, clutching her neck as if she's choking. panicking, everyone rushed to her.
"lia, ayos ka lang ba?" eunbin had asked, tears slowly welling up in her eyes.
"someone call the ambulance dali" jeno also said, kneeling next to lia as he tried to check what was wrong. winter who's near the telephone, had called 911.
"m-matatagalan pa sila, mga 10 minutes pa daw jen" winter said as she put down the telephone.
"sana pala di nalang tayo tumawag no kung matatagalan sila tsk" karina tsked.
lia was still grasping her neck hard then suddenly she stopped struggling, hand fell down on her sides. lia was dead. the ambulance arrived 10 minutes later. carrying lia's dead body with the police in tow.
"pwede bang may magsabi samin kung ano ang huli ininom ng biktima?" the police questioned.
"we all had the same drink officer, soju at wine lang po" shuhua answers.
"opo, wala naman po kaming ibang ininom bukod dun" yeji backs up shuhua.
"hm.. since we can't find out who the killer is, can we at least investigate ang nilalaman ng wine at soju?" another police had said.
"pwede po" the six agreed.
and with that, the police took the soju bottles and wine into their premises. leaving the six to question who did this to their friend. a silence was the only thing present for at least a minute until jeno spoke.
"tangina, sino namang pwede gumawa nun sa kanya?" jeno said, eyeing the five girls.
"w-why don't we calm down muna, j-jen. let's think rationally bakit naman may gagawa nun kay lia eh diba nga magkakaibigan tayo" yeji pointed out holding her hand to at least calm the boy down.
"hay nako ewan, matutulog nalang ako. bukas na natin pag usapan yan. mag a alas dos na tangina, lasing pako eh." karina said.
"tama si rina jen, di tayo makakaisip ng matino kung lahat tayo tipsy." winter said as well, eyeing jeno's sluggish form.
"oo nga jen, pahinga muna tayo" eunbin said as well.
"jen tara na" shuhua said.
they all stood up and went to their respective chambers. as the morning arose the 6 remaining people also woke up to karina and yeji cooking in the kitchen.
"good morning, guys!" yeji greets them with a small smile.
"morning yeji, winter" they greeted to which winter only hums not sparing them a glance as she was busy cooking.
after breakfast, yeji decided to take a stroll below the 1st floor inn as she saw different types of dogs there despite her being a bit allergic to their furs. when she left, karina also decided to go to the mall to shop. leaving winter, eunbin, shuashua and jeno in the room as they wait and hear about lia's case.
after a few hours, karina went back with a lot of bags and supplies.
"bat ang dami mong binili, isang linggo lang naman tayo dito ah" winter complained as she helped karina lift the bags.
"bakit ba eh lahat naman yan favorite natin" karina responded.
while arranging the stuff that karina bought her eyes travelled to the occupants of the room.
"di pa ba nakauwi si yeji? mag aalas singko na oh" karina says as she eyes shuhua.
"hala oo nga ate, tatawagan ko lang" shuhua says as she grabs her phone, calling yeji. but sadly it went to a voicemail
"ano? sumagot ba?" karina asks the younger.
"hindi ate eh, it went directly on voicemail" shuhua says.
"kayo naman baka busy lang" winter immediately supplies.
"you know she doesn't answer unless she's no longer busy diba? wag ka na mag alala shua uuwi din yun" winter continues.
"baka nga" shuhua says as she puts her phone down.
it was already way past dinner time but karina is still nowhere to be found. jeno, shuhua, eunbin, winter and karina all took turns to call the latter.
"bat ba ayaw niya sumagot" jeno says immediately redialling yeji's phone number.
"nakakakaba naman to" eunbin speaks.
"bahala na nga yang babaeng yan lalamig pagkain niya pinapakaba pa tayo eh" karina clicks her tongue.
when they realized that yeji was really not answering they decided to give it up and call it a night hoping that by tomorrow when they call she will answer.
oh little did they know.
'ang dali nyo naman mauto, simpleng salita ko lang tiklop agad kayo' someone thinks.
the next morning jeno immediately went and called yeji hoping that she would answer. but to no avail it still went on voicemail. the next one up was eunbin who was cursing her luck because there was no signal in the area so that they could call the police to help in finding yeji's body.
"gago walang signal dito" eunbin leaves as she goes out to find a signal. the next to go out was karina who immediately went out to find some fresh air.
"nag aalala na ko kay ate yeji, ayaw niya parin sumagot tapos nawawala pa siya" shuhua sniffles.
"we'll find her okay? tiwala lang" winter smiles at the younger.
a few minutes later karina went back smiling mysteriously at shuhua who was a crying mess because of what happened. suddenly screams broke out of the inn. alerted to the scream the 4 ran to where the scream broke off. when they arrived shuashua burst into tears.
"ano po bang nangyari dito?" winter asked.
"nako hija hindi ko rin alam, pagbukas ko ng bodega ay yan na ang tumambad sakin" the old woman who was the owner of the inn said.
"a-ate si ate yeji po ba yan? bakit ang putla niya po?" shuhua continously question.
"hindi ko din alam shua, pero ate nakatawag na po ba kayo ng pulis?" winter asks the old woman.
"oo hija pero masyadong matagal pa kasi masyadong pook ang lugar natin" the old woman answers.
jeno immediately went to yeji's corpse. he couldn't believe this chaos. they were only trying to enjoy weren't they? why has this become like this? who did this? who killed lia? who killed yeji? jeno has a lot of questions and he has to get to the bottom of this.
"jen? jeno?" winter asks as she waves her hand to get jeno's attention.
"are you okay??" winter continues.
"yeah i am. thanks for the concern" jeno said as he fixed himself, seeing the police and ambulance carrying the lifeless yeji.
"asan din si ate eunbin? nawawala din siya? ate rina alam mo ba kung asan siya?" shuhua asks karina who was crying her eyes out.
"h-hindi ko alam. d-diba sabi niya magpapasignal lang siya" karina responded, wiping her tears dry.
winter was silently looking at jeno. she was observing how jeno would act.
"jeno? let's go back sa inn muna. you have something to say right?" winter says, hooking her arms to calm jeno down.
the group of now four was going back to the inn silently. when they arrived at the inn. they immediately rushed to the living room to hear what jeno had to say.
"ilang araw na ako nagtataka, simula kay lia hanggang kay yeji at ngayon sa nawawalang si eunbin. sino bang pwedeng gumawa nito?" jeno started, eyeing the girls.
"p-po? eh jeno wala namang makakagawa nito satin eh." shuashua started.
"exactly, sinong pwede gumawa nito? hindi naman pwedeng sa labas to nanggaling? kasi wala naman silang kaaway." jeno continued, eyeing karina to which she notices and threw an offended look.
"bat ako? wala akong ginagawa ah?" karina says, offended.
"kayong dalawa lang ni yeji ang lumabas kahapon at ikaw din ang naghanda ng wine at soju na ininom natin 2 days ago." jeno stated seriously.
"oh? porket ako lang lumabas ako agad? hala siya hindi kami sabay lumabas jeno ha? ipapaalala ko lang baka kasi nabagok ka kagabi pag tulog mo. ilang oras bago ako lumabas ay wala na si yeji nakaalis na. tsaka hello diba sabi ko mag grocery ako? bakit wala ba akong dala kahapon na bag? jusmiyo ka kala mo naman. eh kung ako nga anong proweba mo ha? tsaka oo nga ako nga naghain ng mga soju at wines na ininom natin? kung ako nga pumatay kay lia o edi lahat tayo tigok na. how in the world would i know kung anong basong pipiliin niya ha? pinapangunahan agad eh." karina angrily retorted.
"j-jeno tama naman kasi si karina. pano nya naman magagawa yun kung ang interval ng pag alis niya at ni yeji ay iba. tapos sa kay lia, tama naman siya random yung pagkuha natin ng baso diba? let's not jump to conclusion agad." winter interjected sensing some angry aura surrounding the two.
"tinatakot niyo bunso natin oh?" winter added eyes landing on the trembling form of shuhua.
the two went silent, then jeno left the living room and went to his room.
"kain muna tayo. need natin ng lakas. karina, tawagan mo si eunbin baka nawala yun sa daan. shua ikaw naman uminom muna ng tubig." winter instructed.
the two went and did what they were told. meanwhile, jeno inside his room was still investigating on his own. he gathers one by one the evidence and the statement of the police about lia's dead body.
"the soju and the wine did not contain any poison. pero when we investigated the glasses wala ding lason. hindi namin alam kung ano ang sanhi ng poisoning pero wala talagang poison sa both glasses and the soju and wine bottles. pero the autopsy confirm na lason nga ang sanhi ng pagkamatay nito." the police officer said a day after lia was found dead in the inn they are staying.
"no poison was found in the soju, wine and glass. tangina, the killer is very smart." jeno whispers.
a knock startled jeno as he muttered a soft 'come in' and the door was opened by winter.
"a penny for your thoughts, jen?" winter says she stands near to the sitting jeno.
"wala iniisip ko lang yung sinabi ng police officer tungkol kay lia" jeno says.
"hmmm.. biglaan din eh. akala ko kasi masaya tayo tas ganito nangyari." winter smiled sadly.
"heh, i agree with you there. ano pala pakay mo?" jeno asks.
"ay oo, kakain na. para naman magkalaman naman ang sikmura mo." winter says and grabs jeno's arm facing the door to leave to leave with the man.
they quietly ate as they decided to sink in the fact that mysterious killing had been happening within their circle.
"ate rina, sumagot na po ba si ate bin?" shuashua says.
"hindi eh. nakakatakot pa naman sa lugar na to pag gabi" karina says looking at the window.
they were quietly just eating when a knock interrupted their dinner. karina being close to the door, stood up to open the door. as it spat out a police officer.
"may problema po ba?" a confused karina says.
"may natagpuang bangkay malapit sa gate entrance inn puno ng saksak sa katawan. we would like to clarify if you know the body" the police explained.
looking at each other, the remaining friends of four ran as fast as they could at the entrance of the inn and winter had to cover shuashua's eyes because right in front of them was their friend, who was brutally stabbed like a butchered pig.
jeno could only wince at what he saw. blood was everywhere the murder weapon was beside the victim. winter was still covering the eyes of shuhua who was now sobbing and pulled by winter in a hug. karina was shocked, there was so much blood and they were very scared.
"this is a very serious case, it's almost like serial killer ang gumawa nang lahat ng to." the police mutter as they cover the corpse with a body bag removing it from the scene.
all the four friends were shocked that there was really a killer amongst them. but the million dollar question is who was the killer? and why is he doing this?
"i'm pretty sure this is shocking para sa inyo. pwede na kayong bumalik sa inn nyo. mag-iingat kayo" the inspectors ushers the four back.
following their steps, they went back to their inn silently. 3 of them were dead and yet not even one of them knew who the killer was. and jeno has had enough, he has to find out even if it costs his life.
they were all about to go to sleep when a scream from the bathroom broke. they all went running and saw their youngest shuhua who was in the bathroom floor head bloodied and eyes wide open. winter screamed as well and fell to the bathroom floor. jeno was very shocked and karina was well on the verge of tears. winter slowly stood up from the floor and closed the younger's eyes. telling jeno to call the ambulance.
all of them did not have any sleep until morning came because they feared that the killer may be back. it took the ambulance around 20 minutes last night because it was raining. when the morning came winter was leaning against karina who was lost in space and they snapped to whatever they were thinking bya very loud jeno making coffee.
questions linger in their mind but they decided to not ask each other because they were only on the 4th day of their trip but 5 of their friends are already dead. until night came, none of the three went out in fear that they might face the killer. when everyone calmed down. they all went to their respective rooms to at least get a wink of sleep all but one.
that deep in the night, jeno was counting back the evidence he collected via the police officers who came to investigate their friends' deaths. too busy to notice that the door creaked and a figure holding a rope is approaching him.
"hi jen!! a penny for your thoughts?" karina said rope hidden behind her back.
"ui rina di kita napansin ah. anong kailangan mo?" jeno asks the latter.
"wala naman. ano ginagawa mo?" karina says as she moves closer to jeno.
"looking for the killer. need na natin siya mapatay kasi tayong tatlo nalang natitira." jeno says without batting an eye to the girl who was slowly circling the man's neck with the rope.
"ah talaga ba? anong gagawin mo pag sinabi kong nasa harap mo lang pala ang killer" karina says smirking as she watched jeno's expression change.
jeno who heard the last words karina said, turned to the woman but suddenly the woman was manhandling him to the bed. choking the air out of him. he was struggling to grab the rope from karina's hands. even if he was a man, karina's strength was beyond ridiculous. he can't help but lose air. within the struggle jeno asked karina
"w-what? anong ibig mong sabihin" jeno says almost devoid of air
"i meant what i said, i killed all our friends. lahat kayo meron ng wala ako pero hindi lang dahil dun, galit na galit din ako kasi kinamumuhian kong naging kaibigan ko kayo!!!! asan kayo nung mga panahong kailangan ko kayo? asan kayo nung mga panahong kailangan ko ng tulong nyo? NAGPAKASASA KAYO SA MGA BAGAY NA WALA AKO. HABANG AKO NAGDUDURUSANG MAG ISA. sa tingin nyo ba hindi ko alam? na ako ang palagi nyong pinag uusapan? sa likod ko pa HAHAHAHAHAH WAG KA MAG ALALA ISUSUNOD KITA SA HUKAY NG MGA KAIBIGAN MONG DEMONYO" karina says laughing like a maniac while she chokes the last remaining oxygen of jeno making sure tie the rope on his neck.
meanwhile, winter was about to knock on jeno's room when she noticed it was wide open. she decided to enter and saw karina killing jeno.
"r-rina? anong ginagawa mo kay jeno?" winter asks when suddenly karina grabbed an empty soju bottle and chased winter.
"KARINA SNAP OUT OF IT?!?! ANONG NANGYAYARI SAYO?" winter shouts as karina continues to chase her with a glint of murder in her eyes. she was about to fall when she noticed a cliff below her.
when karina arrived she rushed to winter which led the two to struggle with each other. upon struggling, winter was about to fall when she swiftly turned her leg switching positions with karina still struggling with the empty broken soju bottle as she tried to push karina away from her. when she pushed her karina was slowly losing her strength and winter took it to her advantage and with much struggling she accidentally pushed her friend in the cliff. when she snapped out of her mind she realized what she did and took a look at the cliff. there she saw karina lying in her own pool of blood.
a week after the incident as the only survivor of the killing incident she was questioned by the police.
"do you remember what happened that week? that incident where your friends got killed?" the investigator asked..
"i don't know what happened that day" she says, shaking as she looks at the investigator with teary eyes.
"let's not do it today. nanginginig siya. we'll announce it as case closed and say na self defense ang ginawa niya against the killer." the investigator says taking pity at the shaking, teary winter.
when the police left winter immediately switched emotions, devoid of life as she smirks.
'i win' she thinks.
"napakadaling mauto" she says as she sits on her couch evil smile spreading her lips. "about time they'd be gone. napakagaling umarte" she says then grabs a cigarette pack and smoked
as she recalled what happened to her friends on that trip of theirs. a week after lia announced the trip winter met up with karina. she told her about the things that lia and the others say when she's not around. which fueled the fire inside karina.
when they got to the trip. she texted karina beforehand that they need to execute the plan perfectly if they want everyone dead. so karina with the help of winter poisoned lia, now you maybe wondering why was the poison not found? it's because its on lia's fingers. when she was holding the holder of the wine glass and ate the chips leading to her instant death. for yeji winter suggested to karina that she kill her the most painless way possible hence giving karina the idea of letting a dog enter a place without air and leading to with dog food. then immediately closing the door after seeing the dog leave. trapping yeji in a room without oxygen and without vents led to her death. and as for eunbin, the nosy bitch as karina would like to call her. karina stabbed her when she found out about the clothes karina was wearing covered with blood which according to karina she was running begging for mercy then stabbing eunbin. for their youngest she hit her head in the tub which was caused by karina putting detergent in the floor of the bathroom. and as for jeno, as you can see he was choked to death. and finally karina who was killed by winter.
breathing out the smoke she recalls her expression when she saw karina in the cliff all bloody.
she smiled and smirked.
"its your fault for falling into my trap" she says and leaves the premises.
and yet another successful killing for winter.
