daves in highschool, hating everyone around him but secretly and has a lot of secrets, but he also has no filter

karkat and dave become besties 4 lyfe then dave starts getting feelings for this man
completely ghosts him

dave doesnt know himself
party hard to forget your problems
karkat finds him completely wasted at a party and is mad at him for completely dropping him and dave spills his guts except here guts means all of his problems and not throwing up but that happens too
karkat takes care of dave and he wakes up the next morning and karkats conked out on his goodwill couch bc he doesnt want to get in bed with him bc that would be weird
dave thinks karkat might not be gay after all
not that he ever knew
but he had a suspicion

Dave falls even harder for karkat oh shit hes going to be late for class oh and he feels like shit too oh man this sucks oh i hope those bushes like puke whatever its fine
dave gets back from classes for tha day and karkats obviously gone and he never responds to daves thank you ramble and dave feels like he fucked up
he asks him to come over so they can talk face to face
but he thinks karkat wont see it since he isnt responding
but he does
that night karkat shows up to daves dorm and they just talk
dave thinks about coming out as gay to him
hopefully itll drive him away so he doesnt have to be reminded of what he cant have
instead of "i am gay" it comes out as "are you gay?" all accusatory
karkat doesnt say anything for a while
"yeah?"
then its just awkward silence
then they watch a movie
karkat conks out
which is weird to dave because in any other situation if dave was in karkats position he would never trust the person he was with to sleep next to him
being drunk is one thing but sleeping? no never its just a different type of vulnerable
he finishes the movie with conked out karkat next to him
they go back to normal
by normal i mean avoiding their feelings for each other
actually we have no clue that karkat likes him back
for the sake of daves mental health lets hope he does
