- Professor, what was that?
Raquel asked him when they heard a baby cry. Knowing what she was going through, Palermo looked at her with painful eyes, not knowing what to say.
- I’ve got to tell you something. There’s one more of us in the stormwater tank. Inspector Alicia Sierra gave birth to a baby, a beautiful girl weighing around three and a half kilos, and she’s in great health.
‘’Congratulations!’’ Her face was a mixture of pain and love. She ignored the tears that immediately formed in her eyes.
- A baby is always a joy and there is no surplus of joy around here lately. What is her name?
She smiled at the sweet but bitter memory of their baby they couldn't hold.
- Well… I was thinking of German, after her father. But since she’s girl, I’ve gone blank.
- If you’re accepting ideas, I’ve always liked Lucia for a girl.
Lucia… that was the name she always thought of for their daughter. It was the name of a city, and she would be a light in their lives. Perhaps they were in one of those moments when they felt most likely not to get out of here. She didn't want to die without telling Sergio that. Now, in the middle of a war, they were both lost in their memories…
