"You're an idiot, you know that right?" The winged hero asked, cleaning up the nasty cut Dabi had on his side. He had gone out and fought some random guy on the street... Again. Hawks was honestly starting to get tired of his bullshit.
"If you keep going out just looking for fights you're gonna get yourself killed." Hawks said, biting his lip a little. The villain hissed in pain, simply flicking Hawks' forehead.
"Why do you care? It doesn't even hurt that bad." He lied, looking away from the man in front of him.
"I care because you're my boyfriend. That's why I'm here, keeping your dumbass alive." Hawks said, making the taller male look back at him.
"And I know damn well it hurts, I'm not stupid so don't treat me like I'm a idiot." He said, letting go again. Dabi just stared at the other man for the longest time, nodding as he watched Hawks patch him up.
Dabi watched the only man he was sure actually cared about him for a few minutes, eventually sighing softly.
"Look I'm sorry, okay? Don't get all pouty on me, feathers." He muttered, resting his forehead against Hawks'.
"You know I love you." He whispered, smiling.
"That isn't working today, I'm still mad at you." Hawks leaned back away from his boyfriend after patching him up, arms crossed over his chest. That made Dabi pout, something he had started doing a lot more than usual now that he had Hawks by his side. Eventually Hawks gave in, sighing and gently pulling Dabi close.
"Fine, you win this time. But I won't let it go so easy this time." Hawks said, opening his arms to Dabi. The crispy boy quickly snuggled up to the other man, smirking.
"That's bullshit." The ravenett said, making his lover groan. Hawks gently smacked his back, huffing.
"Yeah I know but you don't have to say it." He mumbled, closing his eyes.
Dabi promptly picked Hawks up, instantly regretting that decision. He set the man back down, groaning in pain. Hawks sighed, checking to make sure Dabi hadn't messed anything up before taking him to their shared bedroom.
It wasn't anything special, hell it wasn't even nice. It was a old dusty room in a abandoned hotel full of presumably stolen furniture and maybe a few rats. Dabi kept denying their existence but Hawks knew. Still it was their hidden little place. A space where they could love without fear of being caught. It was the closest thing to home they had. It was their's and their's alone.
Hawks made Dabi lay on the mattress that was sitting on the ground, crawling into his little makeshift nest of blankets, pillows, and Dabi's clothes after.
"C'mon, firefly." Hawks said, pulling Dabi close to his chest again. They laid there in comfortable silence for a good long while, simply enjoying the other's presence. Dabi rested his head over Hawks' heart, listening to It's steady beating. He closed his eyes, letting the comforting sound lul him into a dreamless sleep.
Hawks smiled when he heard Dabi's breathing even out, his hands rubbing slow circles into Dabi's back. He sighed softly, closing his eyes as he rested his head against his pillow. It wasn't long before he was sleeping as well, one hand resting on his lover's back and the other in his hair.
