It’s been about a month since Deku got back from Otheon and he still can’t stop thinking about Rody. No matter what he’s doing, Izuku can’t stop the image of brown hair and grey eyes from popping up in his head. His friends have definitely noticed, everytime he sees something that reminds him of Rody he gets all blushy and lovesick (In his friends words). Midoriya doesn’t even know if Rody has a phone yet and even if he did, there would still be no way to get in contact with each other. So in short, Izuku’s sad; he misses the Otheonian boy so much and there’s no way for them to see or even talk to each other.

“The square root of 8 simplifies to…” Aizawa drones on and on, he’s been talking about simplifying radicals for the better part of an hour and only a handful of students are still paying attention. Deku isn’t one of them, he’s been staring out the window waiting for the class to end. He hasn’t been paying much attention in class, he can only ever listen to his teacher for about 10 minutes before Rody drifts into his mind and he gets distracted. Today is no different, he’s looking out the window at the trees but his mind is thinking of sun-kissed skin and lingering memories.
THUMP!!! Something crashes into the door of the classroom. Aizawa stops teaching and sighs, “I swear these problem children are going to be the death of me.”
Everyone turns towards the door, only to see nothing but a faint smear mark on the window. “WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!!??” Bakugo stands up and stomps towards the door, throwing it open. A pink bird shoots up from the ground and heads straight for Midoriya, slamming into his chest. A startled Midoriya catches the bird and holds it up to his face to get a good look.
“Uh… this kinda looks like Pino. But it couldn’t be Pino. It has to just be a random bird. This is just a total coincidence. There’s no way Rody is here, he wouldn’t come all the way here. This is totally just a random bird. God what are you thinking Midoriya, Rody isn’t here. He wouldn’t be here.” Deku mumbles, catching the attention of the strange bird.
Pino is flying all around the hero’s head in erratic circles now, the bird is obviously attached to Midoriya already. The flying stops as Izuku stops mumbling, the bird starts to rub against Deku’s cheek instead now. It seems familiar to everyone in the classroom, there’s no mistaking the connection between Deku and the bird.
“Hey, Deku who is…” Uraraka starts but quickly gets cut off by a man with brown hair running into the room breathing heavily.
“Pino… gasp… why did you … gasp… run away… gasp … from me?” Rody is bent over trying to catch his breath but also desperately trying to find what caused Pino to run off. The second he looks up he knows the answer to his question, his breath catches in his throat and he can’t look away.
Midoriya is in the same boat, since Rody ran into the room he hasn’t moved an inch and his eyes stay locked on Rody. It’s like time stopped, everything outside of the two of them seems to stop as they get lost in each other's eyes. A cough from Iida breaks them both out of their staring.
Izuku flies into Rody’s form at record speed, sending them both tumbling to the floor. They both start laughing as Deku planks over Rody so he doesn’t crush him but as they look at each other, they go straight back to hugging. Deku is soaking Rody’s shirt with tears and Rody is trying to hold back his own happy ones. Pino is hovering above them both shedding her own tears.
“I missed you soooo much! What are you doing here? Where are your siblings? How are you? I really missed you! I’m so happy you’re here!” Midoriya rambles through his tears making Rody huff out a laugh. As Deku lifts his face from Rody’s neck he wipes his tears and moves to the side to sit up.
“I missed you too Deku! It’s great to see you again. I’m here in Japan for you, I’m amazing now that I'm with you and Roro and Lala are here with me” Rody sits up with Midoriya, trying not to make it too obvious how much he’s blushing.
Iida coughs louder this time, bringing their attention back to Deku’s classmates. Izuku starts blushing as he realizes they all just watched their little scene. The hero students are in varying states of shock and smugness. Bakugo and Todoroki in particular are smirking over the pair's interaction. Aizawa had slipped out of the classroom the minute Pino came flying into the classroom, someone had to take care of Rody’s siblings after all.
Uraraka hops over with a huge smile on her face saying “who is this Deku?” Her tone is sickeningly sweet like she knows something that Izuku doesn’t.
Midoriya blushes even more if possible and stutters out, “oh… u-um this is R-rody I met h-him in Otheon”. Izuku hadn’t blushed and stuttered that much since the beginning of the school year. What was this boy doing to him.
“Hi! I’m Rody Soul, you must be Uraraka! Deku’s talked about you before,” Rody takes the lead, sensing that Izuku might need some time to calm down.
“All good things I hope,” Uraraka holds out a hand to shake his hand, which Rody readily accepts.
“Of course! And oh! This bird here is Pino!” Rody points to the bird before looking back to Uraraka. Izuku watches Rody talk to Uraraka and just can’t stop staring, it’s so nice that he can talk and get along with his friends. His accent is soooo cool, and the way he stumbles over some japanese words is adorable. There are so many things to love about this man. Wait… Love? No, there’s no way Izuku could love Rody… Right? Deku takes another look at Rody. Izuku realizes consciously for the first time that he truly does love Rody.
“Hey Deku! Want to hangout for the rest of the day?” Rody addresses him and if possible Deku blushes even harder at the thought of what he just figured out.
“S-sure! We can go to my dorm room!” Midoriya pulls himself up, offering a hand to Deku too. Izuku pulls him out of the room as fast as he can before the rest of his classmates start asking questions and saying embarrassing things. He can see on their faces they already know his feelings and they seem a little bit too eager about it.
“Have fun lover boy,” Bakugo teases on their way out of the classroom, he looks entirely too smug for someone that's trying to hold back laughter.

Rody and Izuku are sitting on his Allmight bed sheets, his room looks like a stalker's favorite place. Allmight is everywhere, Deku really wishes he had time to hide some of his merch.
“So what do you wanna do?” Midoriya questions as he turns toward Rody.
“Um… about that… I wanted to tell you the real reason i’m here,” Rody ducks his head away but Pino gives away what he’s actually feeling. Pino is blushing and hiding behind his wing like a school boy with a crush.
Deku clams up, what does he mean “real reason”? What happened? Why is he so nervous? There’s so many questions that run through his head but he only says, “Ok”. He looks at his hands to hide his nervousness about what might be said.
“Izuku, look at me” Rody lifts his chin with his index finger. The only place to look now is Rody’s eyes and his face rapidly starts to heat up at the use of his first name. Rody's hand comes up to cup Deku’s cheek and his eyes keep fluttering to Midoriya’s lips. Izuku’s face feels like it's going to explode and he can’t stop thinking about kissing Rody, about closing that last inch between them and feeling how those lips might feel on his. Just looking is enough to get him flustered, who knows what he might do if they actually kiss.
Rody stares into Izuku’s eyes again, “Izuku, can I kiss you?” Rody just keeps staring waiting for an answer before continuing but his eyes show how much he wants this. I guess Deku is going to figure out how he truly reacts to a kiss.
Izuku can’t get the words out, so he does the only thing he can think of. He kisses Rody. He leans forward that last inch and puts his lips on Rody’s. It’s clumsy and the faintest of kisses, they’re both too afraid to put too much pressure so they keep it light. Izuku feels fireworks and Pino is flying around like a madman showing how happy Rody truly is. Rody’s lips are softer than Deku thought they would be, and he couldn’t think of a better person to have a first kiss with. After what feels like forever, but was really only a second passed, they part.
Izuku grins dopely at Rody and whispers, “Be my boyfriend” Not quite a question but not exactly a command. In reply Rody surges in and kisses Deku again, the kiss is much more confident and it shows all the love that they have for each other. They both know that from there on out, they are the only ones for each other.
