Chapter Text
Passion. Turbulence. Chaos. Love.
That is the only way to describe Adrien and Marinette's relationship. No other words could describe it. Some may say they're perfect, but they're far from it.
They had met for the first time when they were thirteen. Adrien was the new kid, and Marinette instantly fell in love, or so she thought. She had never even talked to him. It wasn't like this was an easy task, anyway. Adrien always left her tongue-tied and speechless, utterly dumbfounded.
Seeing as he had done homeschooling his whole life, Adrien hadn't realized his feelings for Marinette. Talking to her was like a riddle he couldn't solve, but it was the best part of his day.
After several feeble attempts to get Marinette and Adrien to talk to each other, Alya and Nino, their best friends, grew insanely tired.
"It's easier to put my little sisters to sleep than get them to talk to each other, Nino!" Alya whined.
"I know, I mean, we've tried everything. What now?" Nino scratched the back of his neck. "Should we tell Marinette to just go for it?"
"Are you crazy? She'll have a heart attack!" Alya continued. "Either way, Marinette isn't as tough she looks."
Nino understood this – to some extent. He didn't know why Alya protected Marinette so much or why she always got so defensive when it came to her. Nino didn't mind, of course. He knew they were best friends. He just wished he understood a bit better, but he didn't dare touch the subject.
Alya knew that Marinette wasn't as strong as she claimed to be. Even though Marinette pretended to be this tough, mysterious person, she was the complete opposite. There were moments where Marinette was hurting so much she threatened to hurt herself. That is what scared Alya the most. Marinette had erratic, unpredictable behavior, and it made her worry that she wouldn't be able to be there for her. Logically, she knows Marinette has the support of her therapist and her family, but what if it wasn't enough?
When they had turned fifteen, Adrien moved away from Paris. Marinette had been utterly devastated, but little did she know she would be reuniting with her love once again.
