Work Text:

I looked into the full length mirror Bucky has mounted on our living room wall. I had put a long, olive colored dress on this morning. Bucky bought it for me when my pants stopped fitting and my shirts rode up over my belly. I liked the dress. Don’t like the body.

Our home was the top floor of the building he owned in downtown New York. I loved spending my days on the balcony, it wrapped around each side. I could see the whole city from our building. Four months ago, when I found out I was pregnant, Bucky started making changes to the loft we lived in.

He was so excited to be a father. The day he found out, I thought he was going to combust as he stood shocked in our bed room. He immediately started thinking names, no matter the gender; he just wanted the baby soon. As excited as he was I was terrified. Don’t get me wrong, I want this mans kids. But having a baby was not on my radar. I’ve grown to it more, I mean I have to. The way it’s changed my body is probably the most difficult for me.

In the mirror, I felt like a ball. My belly swelled with the baby so the way the dress fell on me, hugged at nothing. It shouldn’t bother me. I know my body is only a small extent of myself but still, I missed getting to dress the way I used to and I missed how small I was. This baby is a heavy addition and I’ve not even made it very far into the pregnancy.

Maybe a trip to see my loving boyfriend would make me feel better. Lucky for me, it’s not a far walk. Bucky does all his work out of the set of offices two floors below our home.

When I walked out our front door, into the hallway that leads to the elevator, I’m greeted by the same two men I see most days. They stay standing outside our door until they’re traded out for two other men. I wave politely like I do often. Only one gives a smile, he must be newer because they never even glance at me… especially when I’m with Bucky. Behind me I heard whispers from two voices and then I hear the loud steps coming to greet me at the doors. The younger, newer man stepped beside me and pressed the button down. I smiled again, he must’ve forgot it was part of his job requirements to accompany me down the elevator when I’m alone. I stepped inside and he helped with the buttons as I gestured too what floor I wanted. “Thank you!” I walked onto the business floors and waved as he traveled back up to his post.

The room was busy but luckily the open floor plan and the huge windows lightened it up. I looked around for a moment, realizing a wrong button has been pressed and Bucky’s office is not on this floor. Two steps back and I’m in the elevator again, alone. I go one floor up (where I meant to be in the first place) and a man greets me as I walk out. “Ma’am,” he smiles, “Sargent Barnes is in the meeting hall.” He walks me to his office, where Steve stands waiting.

“Hi Stevie.” Steve was a breath of fresh air to see. I reached out to hug him like usual and he kissed my cheek.

“He’s been busy today, anything I can help with?” He says as I look around. I know he is genuine because if he wasn’t Bucky would kill him.

“Oh! I’m sorry!” God, all because I felt self conscious, I was interrupting their acts of business. “I’ll go bac-“ I tried backing up but Steve reached out to hold my arm.

“He’s not too busy for you sweets. I just meant it as a warning before I take you to go see him being infuriated by these men.” He tried to laugh but I could tell he was slightly serious.

I raised my eyebrows in question, “they’re giving you a hard time?”

“More than you can believe.”

I linked my arm with Steve’s as he led me to Bucky. He made jokes about how Buck will most likely be gray haired or dead by the end of this meeting. Gray hair would be a good look on him, I joked. As we neared, you could hear the loud voices. Though none were from my Bucky. I looked up at Steve as he knocked and opened the door, sighing at the sight I assume. He walked in first and I stood outside the door before he called me in.

Bucky had been covering his scowl by his hand but dropped into a smile when he saw me. The groups of men slowed their yelling, settling to small whispers. Steve led me to Bucky and then walked to stand by the back door we had just walked through.

I stood beside Bucky a moment before he pushed his chair out some and grabbed my hand, pulling me onto his lap. “Hi baby.” He seemed tired. He removed his hand from mine and laid it on my waist. The other came to touch my belly. “Hi other baby.” I new the cheeky smile that covered his face, I didn’t have to look at him to know that.

“Steve said it hasn’t been good?” By now the conversations has rose again and the only whispers shared were between Bucky and I. I looked over the men before turning in his lap to see his face. His eyes widened and he shook his head.

“Steve has a way of making situations better than they are, doesn’t he?” I smiled and kissed his cheek. “Why’d you come down here?” His arms pulled me closer just a bit, it’s not like I could get much closer with the belly on me. “Everything okay?” I nodded. He let a deep sigh fall from him as he heard his name in the crowd of men talking. I laughed a little, it was funny seeing the man I knew be shaken from his calm stature. I laid my head on his shoulder. They spoke longer and Bucky grew more tired of it until he politely asked them to leave. Honest, it was somewhat polite.

The men slowly stood, besides the two youngest, and began to walk out. “Now hold on…” This peaked my interest. I sat up a bit to listen to the tone he spoke in. Not good. No. Not good at all. I felt Bucky’s body tense a bit. “… we’ve been here all day trying to convince you to change our agreement and you haven’t given us the time of day.” Not good. I looked from the boy, he was no where near a man, and then to Bucky. He sat under our gaze with no emotion.

“Have you listened to a word that’s been exchanged in this room?” The boy should be scared. Bucky was calm as he spoke and only looked to the boy. His hand was still sat on my waist and I could feel the metal of his other drawing onto my arm.

“Yes! And I’m starting to think you haven’t!” Oh god. “This girl walks in and all the sudden your business associates come second!” I froze as he spoke about my presence. Bucky didn’t falter, no he became more calm as he moved to look at me. His hand came up to my cheek and smiled.

As he pulled it away he spoke mockingly, “The boy want to come first.” and gestured to the accuser across the table, still looking me in the eye. He looked at the table, lips pursed as if he was in thought. “The boy wants to come first.” Only I heard that one because of how low he spoke.

I didn’t dare say anything. It was silent for a while as Bucky contemplated what to say next. His hand came up to wipe over his mouth. I moved slightly and my belly rubbed against his skin, causing him to reach to touch it. “Hm… the boy wants to come first doll.” I nodded slowly as I watched him. He looked up at me. “He’s been sitting here, all day, asking his lawyers- no, yelling at his lawyers- to fix the mistakes he’s made with me.” All I could do was nod. “And now, now he’s telling me that I’m inconsiderate.” Finally, he looked back at the boy. “You and your brother have done nothing but cry about what you’ve done to yourselves. And then, the one thing that could’ve changed my mind about this whole ordeal, walks into my door!” His voice raised but his body didn’t show it. “Now you’re insulting her.”

Bucky sat back in his chair, hands still on me. “Steve.” He beckoned. Steve walked over and helped me up off his lap. I opened my mouth to say something but I was cut off my Bucky’s voice. “You’re young so I gave you the benefit of the doubt. I was wrong, I’ll admit that. You deserve nothing that’s been handed to you. Nothing.” The boys looked ignorant as Steve led me to stand a couple feet from Bucky. “Now. Apologize. And I might forgive you.”

“Dude. We’re trying to talk business and you let some girl come in.” The other boy, the brother I presume, now spoke. “You’ve knocked her up and now you feel you wanna take it out on us?” He laughed and the other boy chimed in.

“Your emotions are getting the best of you. Really. If you need a good fuck we can get you some of those private strippers!” The boys were the only ones laughing. Daddy’s money is all they’d ever be and we all knew that. They’d messed up in talking about me the way they did but they messed up worse when talking about women how they did. Bucky doesn’t take that from anyone. Steve tried to get me to leave the room with him but I wanted to stay. Whatever Bucky did next was something I wanted to see. For pride or pleasure…? Both.

Bucky took a deep breath and stood. Hands pressed to the table, he smiled at the boys. “Let’s talk business on the balcony, why don’t we?” They stepped out the doors. The boys stood with goofy smiles as Bucky took his suit jacket off. In an instant, Bucky had both hands around their necks. They scratched at his arms and Bucky spoke softly to them. The men that were there for the boys protection did nothing as they watched.

One boy struggled to say something and then Bucky released him and he fell to the floor. The other struggled without a word off his lips. Bucky’s metal hands gripped harder.

“Bucky doesn’t want you watching all this.” Steve snapped me out of my watching and pulled me into the hall. I protested but heard two gunshots as I spoke.

“Steve.” Panic grew on my face as knew what just happened. Bucky didn’t allow outsiders to carry weapons so either someone snuck something in or two boys were laid out on the floor.

“Let’s go back upstairs.” Steve walked me down the hall a bit before I heard Bucky calling my name.

“Babydoll, I’m so sorry.” His hands held my cheeks and he set a gentle kiss onto my lips. “If I’d known they were so disrespectful I would have done that hours ago. I’m sorry.” I smiled as he pulled me into his chest. Steve walked away, I could see his footsteps from under Bucky’s arms.

Bucky took me back upstairs and passed the two men by our door. The younger remembered to open our door for us without any whispers of management.

The door shut and Bucky finally spoke. “I didn’t mean for you to see that.” He was standing in our kitchen, leaning against the counters clearly upset.

“Hey…” I walked up to him and put my hands around his neck. “… you didn’t know they’d be stupid.” He laughed into my kiss as I pushed myself up to meet him. His arms pulled me as close as they could.

“No, I didn’t.” I hummed and planted my hand on his chest. I kissed him again. And again. And again. Until I pulled him to the bedroom. “What are you doing doll?” I stopped and looked him.

“You know exactly what I’m doing.” I pulled the dress up over my head and, lucky me, it got stuck. “Ugh.” I let it fall over my body again and was met with the sight of Bucky giggling at me. “What are you laughing at.” He shrugged and I scoffed again. “Take this thing off of me!” I laughed as I lifted my hands into the air.

He did as I said and sat on the bed so I could attempt to straddle him. I kissed up his neck as his hands wondered over my side and back, unclipping my bra. It fell and I pushed it aside to keep kissing him. “Baby, I’m gonna be totally honest…” I moved my hands to the buttons on his shirt. “… I just killed to men…” His shirt was unbuttoned and I pulled it from his body. “… and-“ I let my hand slip between us to touch his clothes cock which elicited a gasp. “-and you’re trying to fuck me.”

I sat back as I rubbed my hand over him and I nodded innocently. I tilted my head as I spoke, “since we’re being totally honest-“ I mocked his words as I touched his body. “- you really turn me on when you act like that.”

OOPS I MIGHT FINISH THIS LATER
