Lexi held her breath as JYP announced the final members that would be debuting.
She's only been a trainee for 2 years now, but that gave her more than enough time for her to earn a spot on JYPs competition show, Eighteen.
"—MOMO! Please join your new members on stage" JYPs voice rang through his microphone.
Lexi smiled as Momo came out from the audience to join the other trainees that have been picked to join Twice.
Momo was one of the hardest working trainees Lexi had ever met during her time at jype, she deserved to debut more than anyone else, other than Jihyo. Lexi's heart was broken when Momo was eliminated, and could only watch as her friend's confidence completely shatter in the middle of the stage.
Getting pulled out of her train of thought by her rapid heart rate, Lexi anxiously awaited to hear the final name that would be said by JYP.
"And now the final trainee to join Twice—" JYP spoke as he glanced down into his notes, the notes that hold the name that would be ending this show forever, and starting a whole new future for a certain group of girls "— LEXI"
The crowds cheering faded into the background as her ears started ringing, Lexi couldn't believe what she was hearing. No way had she expected to make it this far in the first place, let alone make it into Twice. Her being one of the youngest contestants on the show, she had concluded she was only a filler spot for the show and would never even have a chance.
Chaeryeong, Lexi's best friend, who was standing beside her, drew her out of her shock as she placed a hand on her shoulder. Lexi's realization hit when she realized her best friend wouldn't be joining her on that stage. Although disappointment was evident in Chaeryeongs eyes, the pride for Lexi being chosen, was greater.
Her movements stiff and unsure, Lexi slowly made her way to the middle of the stage a joined the rest of the girls, as JYP made his final remarks, before the cameras were shut off.
The trainees who didn't make it, came forth to congratulate those who did, some crying because they didn't make it, others not crying and would end up crying in private. The painful memories of this time were now behind them all.

After the night in the studio had ended, the night of getting closer with her new members had begun.
The cold night air nipped at Lexi's skin as she and the other Twice members were ushered from the studio building towards a van that was waiting to take them back to their dorms. Uncomfortable in the cold air, Lexi unconsciously moved closer to Jeongyeon and Jihyo, as they and the rest of the girls stepped onto the van.
Clinging onto Jeongyeon, Lexi observed the other girls in the car. Nayeon, she had always been confident, but tonight she sat in her seat staring straight ahead, probably still overwhelmed like the rest of them.
Unnervingly, the car was almost silent.
Jeongyeon quietly humming beside Lexi, was one of the first people Lexi had met when she joined jype. Jeongyeon had always kept an eye out for Lexi even as trainees. "The training world was harsh and there was no need to put that burden on someone so young", Jeongyeon had thought when she introduced herself to an 11 year old Lexi 2 years ago. Helping Lexi get used to the company building and practicing dance routines together, the two had quite the bond, Jeongyeon feeling like an older sister to the younger.
Momo and Sana had sat beside each other, still crying from the fact that the two best friends would be debuting together just as they promised when the joined together a year and a half before Lexi arrived. Lexi smiled at the thought of her two Japanese unnies being able to fulfill their dreams together.
Mina sat beside the other two Japanese girls on the other side of the aisle along with Chaeyoung, another trainee that Lexi had grown to love due to her carefree nature and charming attitude. Mina seemed to be comforting the younger girl presumably because Somi, Chaeyoung's best friend isn't going to debut with her.
Dahyun was very lovable too, always bright and happy, she was sitting with Tzuyu who never said much, but when she did, they were always hilarious one-liners.
Jihyo sat on the other side of Lexi staring out the windows, watching as the lights from the buildings reflected off the van and into the night sky. The votes for a leader would be done in the near future and Lexi had no doubt in her mind Jihyo would be picked. After all, dedicating 10 years of your life to training, only to be put into a competition of uncertainty, Jihyo really deserved it. She is well mannered, responsible, and respectful to everyone she meets.
Arriving at the trainee dorms, all the girls filed out on the van and into the building before splitting off to their respective rooms. They only had 2 hours to pack everything they owned, before being transported to their new dorm that they would be living in all together. Lexi reached her room and immediately started packing. Since she had moved from Canada to Korea, she had lots of stuff in her dorm since she couldn't just go home if she needed something. 2-ish hours later, Twice had their things packed and were arriving at the new dorm.

"Okay everyone, here we are—" Jihyo said as she unlocked the door. The girls shuffled in and were met with a spacious living room.
"—So the roommates have already been decided randomly by the staff, Nayeon, Mina, Sana and myself, will be in the four person bedroom. Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu are in the three person bedroom, down the hall, first door on your right. And Jeongyeon, Momo, and Lexi are in the three person bedroom down the hall, second door on you right" Jihyo finished explaining.
Yay! I'm with Jeongyeon unnie! Lexi thought to herself before being rudely interrupted by the devil herself, Jeongyeon dragging her to their room.
Lexi walked into their new room, to get hit with the smell of freshly cleaned floors and furniture. They must've tried to make the place look decent for our arrival.
"Lexi, put your stuff down on the bed you want" Momo said from behind Lexi.
"no unnie it's ok, you and Jeongyeon pick first, you're older"
Momo nodded and looked toward Jeongyeon to make her pick.
Looking between the options of three single beds all pushed into each corner of the room, "I'll take that one" Jeongyeon pointed to the bed in the corner on the same wall as the door. Lexi nodded and looked at Momo expectantly, "I'll take the bed opposite Jeongyeon" Momo said, making her way over to the bed before putting her stuff on it. That means the bed left for Lexi was the bed across from the door.
"Everyone come to the living to decide what to eat!!" Nayeon called from down the hall. Momo sprung to her feet and was already out of the bedroom before Lexi and Jeongyeon had even had a chance to process what Nayeon had said.
"Aishh- that girl loves food" Jeongyeon chuckled as she put her arm around Lexi as they both head out towards the chattering coming from the common area.

The dorm got louder as everyone discussed what to get for dinner.
"tonkatsu!"
"pizza!"
"bulgogi!"
"chicken!"
Recommendations for dinner were being thrown out all over the place.
"how about bulgogi pizza?" Sana suggested.
"ok put your hands up for bulgogi pizza!" Jihyo said. Surprisingly, all the hands went up.
"ok bulgogi pizza it is. I'll call the pizza place, why don't we get settled in the living room and play a game to get to know each other?" Jeongyeon said. Everyone nodded and sat in a circle on the floor.
"Ok so we all know everyone's names, what year was everyone born in?" Jihyo suggested
"1995" said Nayeon "i'm pretty sure Jeongyeon, Momo, and Sana are all 96'liners, Jihyo is a 97'liner, Mina?"
"97' liner too" Mina answered.
"Dubs is 98'liner, and Tzuyu and I are both 99'liners" Chaeyoung continued.
"Lexi..." Sana started "We know your the youngest but when's your birthday again?"
Looking around at the faces in front of her, Lexi felt out of place being the very youngest, all the other girls were barely a year apart from the next oldest person from them and she was at least two years younger than Tzuyu.
"2001" Lexi said hesitantly.
"wow dude, you're like what? 14?" Chaeyoung said .
"In Korean years, yeah. In international years im 13 turning 14 this December"
"Aigoo my little Maknae" Nayeon said while scooping Lexi up off the ground and twirling her around. The rest of the girls just giggled at the sight of their unnie smothering the youngest.
After Nayeon had put Lexi back down, the doorbell rang.
"I'll get it!" Tzuyu jumped up and headed to the door.
"PIZZAS HERE" she yelled over her shoulder as she paid the pizza person and closed the door.
The girls, who were all starving by now, quickly mukbanged the pizza before deciding they should get some rest. Lexi made her way back to her room before climbing into bed and falling asleep right away. After all, this had been a draining day for all of them, physically and emotionally.

Lexi woke up the next morning to the sound Jihyo, or should I say the Mic, yelling for everyone to get up. Opening her eyes, Lexi was met with a stream of sunlight peeking through the blinds beside Momo's bed, and to the rusling of other members moving about in the dorm.
"Lexi let's go" Jeongyeon said as she bumped Lexi's bed, "we have a schedule today" she finished saying as she got up from her own bed and walked out of the room.
Lexi let out a low sigh before sitting up and stretching her arms. Ugh I forgot we had a schedule today.
"Hey Momo! Do you know what we're doing today?"
"No clue, but I think I heard Nayeon and Jihyo say something about shooting a Jacket Cover shoot this week, so maybe we're going to get info on that today?"
Lexi nodded and made her way from their room to the bathroom. Not looking where she was going, Lexi walked into someone only a little bit taller than she was. Because she's still young, she has a lot of growing to do.
"oops... sorry unnie, I'm still half asleep"
"No worries pancake, i'm still tired too" Dahyun said as she patted Lexi on the shoulder while she moved over a bit to let Lexi use the sink too. After both of them were done, they went back to their rooms to change.
I hope Jeongyeon and Momo unnie are out of the room, I can't let them see my thigh. Lexi thought as she peeked her head in to see if anyone was still in there. Lucky for her it was empty.
After everyone was finished getting ready, they made their way to the van that was picking them up tp go to the company.
Getting to their practice room, JYP and a few managers were in there waiting. The girls bowed and shuffled into a line in front of the older people.
"girls! how was your first night at your new dorm" JYP asked once they were settled in.
The girls all let out a response that was hard to make out since all of them had said something at the same time. JYP nodded and looked down at his notes.
"Right, well today you're going to vote for you group leader and then we'll talk about your first song and album, hows that sound?"
Twice enthusiastically nodded their heads while the managers started to hand out slips of paper and pens to each of the girls.
After about 5 minutes, everyone had finished writing down who they wanted to be leader, and handed it back to JYP.
"alright, it seems we have a unanimous vote... JIHYO congrats, you're the official leader of TWICE!" JYP exclaimed with a bright smile on his face. Everyone else clapped and congratulated Jihyo until JYP started talking again.
"Ok so now that we've got that sorted out, let's all go to the recording studio, i'll give you guys the lyrics for your song, 'Like ooh-ah', and we'll start practicing", and with that JYP walked out of the practice room and toward the recording studio, with the rest of them following.

TIME SKIP
It had been a year already since TWICE debuted They had put out 'Like ooh-ah', 'Cheer-Up', and 'TT', and it was now time to prepare for the end of year award shows!
"Lexi! you're going to be late for school!" Nayeon yelled from the doorway "Chaeryong is already here waiting for you"
Lexi hurried up in the washroom, finishing up her make-up, before running out, barely bumping into Mina.
"Sorry Mina unnie" Lexi yelled over her shoulder as she went barreling towards the door.
"Yah- Lexi, slow down before you get hurt again" Jeongyeon yelled after her, as Lexi grabbed Chaeryong's hand making their way to the elevator.
