Toni was never a fan of Christmas growing up. In the Southside, most of the family didn't have the money to buy their children nice gifts. Thanks to the serpents, at least everyone had a nice hot meal on Christmas Eve. Each family was bringing some food and putting everything together it made a nice feast. For her, Christmas was more about family than the gifts.
Then she lost her parents. The only part she truly enjoyed about Christmas was gone. She still had the serpents but they weren't her parents. She missed them. And the holidays made her miss them even more.
When she spent her first holiday with Cheryl, she thought this girl was crazy. She cooked way too much food for the two of them. She spoiled Toni with gifts. Through the years though, they made some traditions together.
Of course they gave each other gifts and spent time together. But on Christmas eve they helped with the dinner they did at the Wyrm. Cheryl and Toni bought toys for the kids and the night was magical for everyone.
Then on Christmas Day, they baked cookies, drank hot chocolate, opened their gifts and watched movies all day.
During the years they were broken Toni was surprised to learn that Cheryl never stopped to help on the Southside during Christmas time. Of course she didn't go there since she wasn't with Toni anymore. She asked Sweet Pea for his help. She asked him to find a few kids who didn't have winter clothes. She bought them what they needed. Then she bought gifts for the kids like she used to do with Toni. Sweet Pea distributed them. She also paid for the food so they all have a nice Christmas Dinner. Toni stopped by Thornhill once to thank her, but Cheryl just told her that it was the least she could do.
When she became a mother, she made tradition with her son. They spent a lot of time helping on the Southside. She let him unwrap his gifts on Christmas morning while Fangs was filming them.
Toni really enjoyed Christmas time now. With her kids and her gorgeous wife. She and Cheryl got married 3 years ago after getting back together 2 years earlier. She had her son, Anthony who was 5 years old. He was the sweetest little boy. Britta who was now 21 and in college, was still part of their life. She was a daughter for them. Cheryl helped her to pay for college and every time she could she was back home. She also had a little girl. Lexie. She was 2 years old, a redhead like her mommy. She and Cheryl decided to have another kid and Cheryl wanted to live the experience of a pregnancy. They both enjoyed being a mom. They had their traditions with their own family.
On Christmas Eve this year, they helped with the annual Christmas dinner. They had a great night with the serpents. All the kids in Sunnyside were very happy with their toys.
They came home pretty late last night. They had to convince Anthony to go to bed. He wanted to open a gift before bed. But Toni explained to him that Santa Claus would only come after he was asleep. They knew they would wake up early the next day. After putting Lexie and Anthony to bed, they said good night to Britta and went to bed.
On Christmas day, Toni was deep asleep. Cheryl woke up very early. She woke Anthony and Lexie, then they went downstairs in the kitchen. She gave some fruits to the kids. They were hungry but she planned on having breakfast together later. "Eat my babies. After that we'll bake cookies."
"Cookies!!" They both said. They were excited.
They ate their fruits. Cheryl drank her coffee looking at her children. "Okay my loves. Who wants to help me with the cookies?"
"Me ! Me!" They were excited. They loved to help her in the kitchen.
She installed their little step, so they were high enough to reach the counter. She was measuring the ingredients when Britta entered the kitchen.
"Good morning Mom. Dear brother and sister." She has called Cheryl mom since she took her in when she was 16. Cheryl and Toni took care of her. Anthony and Lexie grew up with her. They were family.
"Britannia. Good morning to you. We didn't have time to talk much about college. How is it going?"
Britta was studying to be a social worker like Toni. She wanted to help kids like her. Often she would ask Toni for some advice in her classes." Everything is going very great. I'm the best in pretty much all of my classes."
"Always the excellence." She smiled. "Would you like some coffee before breakfast?"
"Yes. I'll make it. Continue the cookies with our little elves." She smiled and made herself some Coffee.
Cheryl measured all the ingredients. Then Lexie and Anthony put them in the bowl. She mixed everything and they helped her to make small balls and put them on a baking sheet. She put it in the oven.
"While we wait for the Cookies, what do we want for breakfast?"
"Waffle!" Said Anthony.
"Pancakes!" Said Lexie.
Can we have eggs too mom?" Britta asked.
"Yes I can do that. But I'll need some help."
There was a lot going on in the kitchen. Britta made pancakes with Anthony. Cheryl made the waffles with Lexie. The cookies were in the oven and it smelled very good.
Toni finally woke up. She was never one to wake up early. Especially if Cheryl was there for the kids. She went into the kitchen. It smelled so good. She loved what she saw. Her children and her wife, cooking together.
"Good morning." She said with her raspy morning voice.
"Morning my love."
Toni gave a kiss to Lexie, Anthony and Britta. Then she walked to Cheryl and gave her a loving kiss. "Hey baby."
"Did you sleep well ?"
"Yes Cher. I see you guys were working while I was sleeping."
"Indeed we have a lot to do today."
"What's that smell?... Are you making cookies?"
"Yes T.T for our movies later "
,"Well everything smells delicious."
"Thanks T.T. Will you help us with breakfast?"
"Of course." Toni helped them to finish the food.
Toni cut the fruits for breakfast. They ate together in the kitchen. After breakfast they started the Christmas day tradition. First step was opening one gift each. They waited until after dinner for the other since Toni wanted Fangs to be there when Anthony opened his.
"Okay T.T will you bring each one of our babies a gift please."
"Yes baby." She gave each one of them a gift. Not one that they would want to play immediately. Because they wanted them to watch the movies after.
Anthony was the first one to unwrap his gift because he was very excited. " Mama look! It's a motorcycle!"
"It is baby." Toni said. It was only a little motorcycle toy.
"Do you give a kiss to Cheryl?"
"Yes!" He ran to the redhead who hugged him. He kissed her cheek. "Thank you"
"You are very welcome, my sweet boy."
Next was Lexie. Toni helped her to unwrap her gift. It was a cute dress that Toni bought her.
"Oh my god T.T she's gonna look like a princess with it."
"I know right, just like her mommy. " Toni gave a kiss to Lexie.
"Britannia you are next."
Britta opened one of the gifts Cheryl and Toni got her. It was a leather jacket. Toni thought it was about time she got her honorary Serpents jacket.
"A serpent's Jacket. So cool" she smiled. She was very happy to be a part of their family. "Thanks moms."
"You are welcome Britta. You're gonna look so badass with this." Toni said.
"T.T are you opening yours first?"
"You first baby." Toni said with a pout. Cheryl could never say no to that.
"Fine T.T" Cheryl opened her gift from Toni. It was a bracelet with some charms on it. A cherry to represent herself. A serpent to represent Toni. A bike to represent Anthony and his obsession with motorcycles. A football to represent Britta. And to represent Lexie, a ballerina. "Oh Toni my love. It perfectly represents everyone one in our Family."
"I'm glad you like it babe. I love you."
"I love you Too.," Cheryl smiled. "Your turn."
Toni unwrapped her gift; it was a necklace with two little cherries on it. Inside the cherries were Family pictures of all of them. "
Thank you babe. It's beautiful."
"I'm happy you like it baby."
"Would you put it on me babe?"
"Of course." She attached the necklace around Toni's neck.
"Okay everyone. Time to put on our Christmas pajamas." Toni said.
Everyone put on their matching Christmas pajamas. Cheryl made her secret hot chocolate recipe. Toni put the cookies on the table. They chose to watch Home Alone.
They sat on the couch. Anthony sat on Britta's lap while Toni and Cheryl sat together with Lexie on their lap.
They spent the afternoon Together eating cookies and watching movies. Cheryl ordered food for dinner and Fangs joined them later for dinner. It was important for them that he was present for Anthony during the Family celebrations.
After eating Dinner and opening all their gifts Cheryl and Toni put the kids to bed and said goodbye to Fangs. They went into their bedroom and got ready for the night. They laid in their bed.
"Once again T.T this was a success."
",Yes baby. I'm so grateful for you and our children. I love you all. So Much.
" Me too Toni. I'm so glad we found our ways back together. I wouldn't want to have anyone else in my life. "
They kissed softly at first but the kiss heated up. " Cher, Are you ready for another gift?"
"Does it imply you being naked?"
"Oh you are gonna be naked too baby."
They started kissing again and finished this holiday rolling around between their sheets.
