Work Text:
Kenta liked the stars, the ceiling of his room was covered in those glowing peel-and-stick stars. walls covered in star maps and astrology signs. since he was an older brother, Wataru was also infatuated by space. So, when Kenta told him there would be a meteor shower that night, he was so excited to sit outside with his brother. His best friend.
As the sky is dark and empty, just the usual stars greeting Kenta and Wataru's gaze. They sit in silence huddled together for warmth as they wait for it to start.
It was such an amazing feeling. The happiness they felt seeing the meteor shower out of nowhere. Oh how spectacular it was. That was a feeling they both missed. What had ever happened to that? What went wrong? Why did it have to end? Oh how much they both know deep inside that they miss. They had completely different lives now. Hell, they rarely talked to each other ever now. Wataru now even hates speaking to Kenta most of the time. How sad is that? The one you loved and trusted most, who now is someone that you avoid.
Time skip to Wataru now, remembering these events. Late night.
Wataru feels his eyes water as he looks out his window, and two asteroids fly past. One after another. He knows deep down he still wants that feeling, that love his brother gave him was unconditional. He wonders if it still is. If Wataru came up to Kenta right now, would he even care? Would he accept him with open arms, like he did when he told Kenta the truth. He's still the only one he ever told. Kenta could ruin Wataru's career with three words. But he doesn't. Is that proof then? Does Kenta still love him?
Wataru was so deeply drowning within his thoughts and tears he didn't hear his door open. He didn't hear Ren walk in.
