Work Text:

Kurt had no plans.

They had all fallen through with 3 words. 'I have cancer'.

Those 3 words out of his father's mouth last Christmas had been like a red burning sensation underneath his skin, an itch that wouldn't go away. Kurt knew they were in financial trouble, and he would do anything to alleviate it.

He told his father and his step mother, not to worry, he had a plan.

He got a job...then another....then another...and soon enough, his working all the time trumped school. He dropped out.

He had always thought that college in New York had been his dream. When he finally got accepted into NYADA alongside his friend Rachel, for the later start of the term, he was over the moon. It had been hard and expensive, but it was what he was born to do. Be on a stage, sing, dance, act. It was everything to him.

But...

The crunch of it all was that, with his father's medical bills going through the roof, college had to take a step back so that he could help.

He had so many arguments with his father over the phone about him dropping out and working himself to death for money to give them. Kurt said that he wanted to do it, needed to do it. His dreams meant nothing if his father was not around to see them accomplished. Burt had cried and begged his son not to leave school, not to waste his time and money on him, but Kurt said that even if he had all of his dreams come true, he would drop it all for his father.

He loved him. Burt was his best friend, and his father all rolled into one. It had just been him and Kurt for years after his mother passed, until Carole and Finn came along. And then Finn died in a horrible accident in their first year at college, and things were never the same.

Kurt had a family, and then he had lost some of it. Now after another year...he would be devastated if he lost his father after all that. Couldn't his family catch a break?

Night time shifts at the local supermarket were killer, but Kurt knew he got paid double time for it, so he kept it. As soon as he got home, he would get 3 hours of sleep, before he was back to the next job, working all day in a hotel reception office, from 6am right until 3pm, and then doing shifts in the afternoon at the restaurant on the corner for the dinner rush, and then back to the supermarket at 8pm.

He was busy, and his days were filled with filling out orders, packing things and waiting on people who were snotty to him. But it was all money.

He only wished he didn't have to spend most of it on rent and amenities in the apartment. It took quite a big chunk out of his monthly budget, and at the end of all that work, he still only had 1000 dollars to send his father. At the rate this was going, the cancer was going to out run both of them.

Rachel hadn't been any help, she only wanted him to go back to school. Which Kurt knew he wouldn't be happy or comfortable with that. So he tried and tried to save money where he could, he would use his discounts at the store to get lunch, discount at the restaurant for his dinner every night. It still would not make much of a dent in his savings.

Something had to give...Kurt knew what would be next to go.

The apartment, he had to find something cheaper, somewhere he could stay that was cheaper and had everything he needed so that he could just work for money for his father, and that was that.

But...where abouts would he find something like that?

A B&B maybe...motel....hotel room??

Everything was expensive.

Kurt called every advertisement he could find to ask about it, until one phonecall to a local motel gave him the number of a small B&B a couple of blocks away from where he was living. He had no idea there was a B&B in his area. So he made sure he had some time off from work one afternoon, promising the other waiter at the restaurant that he would take the double shift tomorrow, and made his way a few blocks over to find out were this place was.

It was tiny from the outside, and it looked just like any other place, although the front door was a very pale blue colour, and didn't match any other in this neighbourhood. Kurt steeled himself and then opened the door, walking inside and closing it quietly behind him.

He was met with a circle of seat and couches in the space that was supposed to be a living area, and then around a small corner was a small kitchen, as he continued down the short decorated hallway, he actually came across a wooden desk that was opposite the stairs.

He pinged the small bell on top of the desk with his hand lightly, and waited with a nervous stance. What would the host think of him? Would he ask questions about why Kurt wanted to stay here? About why he wanted to stay for a while?

He didn't really want to divulge any reasons, because it all sounded so farfetched, even to him he knew.

A minute later, a guy with big honey eyes and curly hair appeared behind the desk.

"Good morning. How can I help you?" He asked, looking at Kurt curiously.

"Erm...i was wondering if you a room, for a month?" Kurt asked nervously, trying to smile at the guy in front of him. "I'd need to move in two weeks."

The guy stared into his eyes for so long that Kurt started to feel a bit uncomfortable. He seemed as if he was studying him, as if he was trying to know what he was hiding.

"No problem." He finally replied, smiling at him. "At this time of year we usually have quite a few people, but you can count on the room. What's your name?" He asked, typing something on his computer.

"Kurt Hummel...i know it's short notice." Kurt responded quickly, and reached into one pocket, "did you need my i.d?"

"Yes please." The guy said, picking it up when Kurt handed it to him. "Kurt Hummel from... Ohio? Wow, it's quite different from New York."

"Yeah," Kurt laughed lightly as he rubbed his hand over the back of his head, "...you probably don't see many from Ohio here."

"I see almost everything here." The guy handed the ID back to Kurt and held out his hand. "My name is Blaine, by the way."

"Nice to meet you." Kurt took his hand and shook it lightly, before spying the clock on the wall, "..i've got to go, i have two hours before i need to go back to work, so...thank you again. I'll see you in 2 weeks?"

"Sure, I'll be here." Blaine smiled at him again before adding, "and breathe, okay? Sometimes you need to stop for a second and just breathe. This is advice."

Kurt paused before he turned around and looked at Blaine with narrowed eyes for a second, before giving him a small smile.

"Thanks, i'll keep that in mind." He said politely and then turned to walk out of the door, Blaine's eyes still on his back, he could feel it.

Kurt didn't get into his apartment until past 1am, and once he collapsed on top of his bed he tried to sleep, but he couldn't stop thinking about the B&B and Blaine...those eyes that looked almost into his soul, the way he said those words as if Kurt had needed to hear them.

It was strange.

He had a fitful sleep that night, and by the time 5am came around, he got up with sticky eyes to go to work.

xoxoxoxoxo

Rachel was sad to see him go, over the last fortnight he ha told her about his plans for saving money, and she had tried to make him see that he shouldn't do it...but Kurt felt that this was the right decision for his family.

He wouldn't be able to sleep at night if he left his father and step mother to foot the bills on their own.

So once the 2 weeks rolled around, he was wheeling his suitcases into the B&B down the street, and he gave Blaine a small smile, as he was in the kitchen making something to eat.

"Let me help you with that." Blaine wiped his hands quickly and left the kitchen. He walked over to the desk and grabbed some keys before approaching Kurt. "I'll trade you the keys to your room for one of those gigantic suitcases. We have to go up the stairs to the first floor, and I don't want you to get injured on your first day here."

"Oh thank you." Kurt handed him a suitcase and took the keys, "i'm curious though, does anybody else ever stay as long as i am?"

"It's unusual." Blaine answered as he started up the stairs. "The most common are people who come to spend the weekend, or visit someone, or on vacation, and stay for about a week."

"I see." Kurt replied as he finally made it up the first flight of stairs and then looked down the short corridor of doors. "What one?"

"The first one." Blaine headed down the corridor. "It's the quietest of all. I thought you would appreciate the silence."

"That's great. With the amount of sleep i get, quiet is appreciated." Kurt said as he opened the door and pushed through, to see a medium sized room, with two wardrobes and a bed on the other side by the window, and then a door to the side that led into it's own bathroom. "Wow, this looks great."

"Thank you. It's not the Ritz, but it's clean and the mattress is comfortable." Blaine told him, leaving the suitcase next to one of the wardrobes. "You have the breakfast schedule and the instructions for the television on the nightstand. For any other questions, you can go down and ask me or anyone who is at the desk at that moment."

"I can cook. I didn't want to tell you yet, but if you try my baked chicken you will never want to leave this place." Blaine told him in a low voice, as if he was confiding a big secret to Kurt.

Kurt furrowed his brows as he stared at Blaine, and then cleared his throat a little.

"Erm...i was just thinking i can cook sometimes, for everyone...not just me." He told Blaine, "but..i would love to try it."

"Oh... would you like to work here?" Blaine looked at him again that way he seemed to try and enter his mind.

"Oh no...i can't." Kurt said without giving a reason, Blaine didn't need to know about his working hours. "I just need to know if there is a closing time, for the front door? Do you lock it?"
without*

"No, I don't lock it. This is New York... a lot of people live at night." Blaine shrugged, but he kept looking at him intently. "Just so you know, what I said before about the chicken was a lie, it's not that good. If you change your mind and want to help me out in the kitchen, we could make a deal."

"What kind of deal?" Kurt said suspiciously, "as you said, this is New York."

Blaine laughed a little at Kurt's distrusting look.

"It's not what you're thinking, I assure you." Blaine chuckled, not offended for a second. "But if you wanted to cook, you could sleep here for free."

"Stay for free?" Kurt gasped in surprise, "why would you do that for me? you don't even know me."

Blaine shrugged before smiling at him.

"You don't know me either, and you're trusting me by staying here." He answered. "We are in this world for a very short time, Kurt, and there are people who insist on fighting against everything alone. I'm one of those who believe that you have to help others, and know how to ask for help. Besides, you would be paying me with your work, I'm not giving away anything."

"Just cooking? That's it?"

"Just cooking. I promise." Blaine nodded. "I'll talk to the manager who keeps the B&B accounts so that he makes a contract so you can be sure."

Blaine tilted his head and looked at him for a few seconds.

"Anyway, you don't have to answer me now. You can think about it, if you want."

"Thanks." Kurt nodded at him and then turned to open one of his suitcases, "i should get everything unpacked...i have work in 3 hours."

"Sure, I'll leave you alone to settle down." Blaine headed for the door. "I'll be downstairs, if you need anything."

"Thank you Blaine. Really." Kurt's voice stopped him on his way out of the door, "i don't really know how long i'll be here, but thank you for helping me and not asking too many questions."

"You're welcome. Sometimes the answers to certain questions are right under your nose, you don't need to ask." Blaine winked at him before leaving the room.

For the next few days, Blaine couldn't help but be intrigued by Kurt. He left the B&B twice a day. He would leave so early in the morning, return in the afternoon, and then go out again. When he got back at night, he seemed totally exhausted.

Blaine had also heard him cry once. Blaine was carrying clean towels into the room next to Kurt's when he heard the sobs from the other side of Kurt's door. He was about to knock on and ask if he was okay, but he felt it was best to let him vent alone.

A couple of days after that, though, the moment he saw Kurt and the huge dark circles under his blue eyes, he knew he had to do something.

"Good morning, Kurt. Do you have a minute?" Blaine told him, leaning against the desk.

"I need to go to work, do you need anything?" Kurt asked tiredly as he paused by the desk.

"Actually, yes. There is a little problem with your stay here." Blaine replied.

"Oh?" Kurt asked as his face filled with horror, "am i being kicked out?"

"What? No, of course not!" Blaine gave him a reassuring smile. "It's just that, in case you don't know, B&B means bed and breakfast. You've been here for a week, and the only thing you've had in the dining room is coffee. I'm obliged to scold you for it."

Kurt placed a hand against his chest in relief and sighed.

"Don't scare me like that." He said lightly and then rubbed his hand over his face, "...i know i can't stay for breakfast usually, but i do eat at work."

"It's my fault, sorry. I shouldn't have tried and made a joke this early in the morning." Blaine apologized, looking at him concerned. "Maybe it's none of my business, but... do you really eat? I mean, properly? You could make yourself a couple of sandwiches and take them to work. It would be the same expense as if you had breakfast here."

"Erm...well i get discounts at the restaurant, and at the hotel i work in...they provide food. I'll be okay." Kurt reassured him and then checked the time, "sorry Blaine, i really need to go."

Kurt made a dash for the door, and Blaine didn't say anything else only waved at him as he left.

It was even later than usual when Kurt walked through the front door that night. Blaine was in the kitchen having dinner, and he smiled at him from there.

"Do you want to join me? There is left over pasta." He offered him, pointing to the pot full of macaroni on the counter.

"That would be great." Kurt said with a tired yawn and then made his way over to sit down, Blaine gave him a plate full of pasta and Kurt scoffed it like he was a starving man, only stopping every minute to yawn in his hand.

"Hard day?" Blaine asked.

"Very." Kurt said around a mouthful of macaroni, and then shook his head as another yawn hit him, "..i'm sorry for being rude and eating like a pig."

"What can i say? It's nice to see someone eat my tasteless macaroni as if it were a delicacy." Blaine laughed.

Kurt only nodded in response before his phone started ringing extremely loudly in the still quietness around the B&B's kitchen, and Kurt excused himself as he went to living room area to answer.

"Hey Carole, how is he?"

"He's fine, Kurt. A bit tired, but that's normal." Carole answered in a soft tone.

"How are you? You sound tired too, was it a long wait at the hospital today?" Kurt said worriedly, and he knew Blaine could hear him over in the kitchen.

"Honey, don't worry about me. You know I'm stronger than I look." She sighed. "Actually, I'm calling because we're worried about you. How are you doing?"

"Oh Carole..i'm doing fine. You and Dad shouldn't be worrying about me."

"Your dad may be sick, but he is still your dad." She gave him a little laugh. "Are you sleeping well?"

"...well, no. But that's only because i'm worried about you two. But i'll be okay Carole, i don't get that tired." Kurt said as he paced lightly in the living area, and he could see from the corner of his eye that Blaine was watching him, but he ignored it.

"If you stop caring about us, we will stop caring about you." Carole muttered. "But I'm fine, really... it's just been exhausting at work today, but you know what it's like. I hope Rachel is helping you out with chores."

"No, you know she never does that. I have to do it all." Kurt scoffed lightly.

"I adore that girl, but it's not fair that she thinks she is too diva for that kind of thing. Tell her to relax or I will scold her next time I go to New York." Carole said.

"I will put the fear of Carole in her for next time you visit, i swear." Kurt laughed a little, and then he sighed, "can i speak to him?"

"Of course. Be nice to him, and don't be mad if he acts like a worried father, okay? And take good care of yourself, please, honey." She told him, and Kurt heard footsteps, as if she was walking as she spoke.

"I promise, i won't get on his case."

"Good." After a couple of seconds, she added. "Darling, Kurt is on the phone and he wants to talk to you."

Immediately, Carole's tender voice was replaced by a raspier, more masculine one.

"How are you, kiddo?"

"I'm good dad," Kurt's face melted into a warm smile at his father's voice, "how are you?"

"Like a champ. I eat well, I sleep well, and Carole forces me out of bed every day. You are both equally stubborn." Burt snorted.

"Well then i'm glad she's doing it so i don't have to get on a plane and come out there." Kurt chuckled lightly, "...i erm..i sent you some more money today, should be in your account."

"Kurt, you have to stop doing that." Burt said in a serious tone. "Just listening to you, I know you're exhausted. We're managing it, you don't have to work so hard because of me..."

"Dad, it's not just for you. Call me selfish but i want my father around for a long time. If there's things i can do to help, i will."

"Do you know what is best for my health right now? Be calm because my son is fine and happy." Burt replied. "I really appreciate your help, but be honest with me... are you okay?"

"Dad, i'm fine. Honestly, i only sound tired because i got up early this morning and it's been a long day. But i'm just eating dinner and after the phone call i'm going to bed okay?" Kurt was lying through his teeth he knew, but it was the only way, "i swear to you, i'm doing fine."

"Okay, I believe you." Burt coughed a little, and then cleared his throat. "Carole's face tells me that I should go to sleep now too. Please stop worrying about money and take good care of yourself. I don't want anyone to fall ill, one Hummel at a low ebb is enough."

"Sure dad, you get some rest. And don't worry about me, i will too. I love you."

"Love you too, kiddo."

Once Kurt hung up the call, he sighed and slumped a little. Slipping his phone back into his pocket he walked back to the kitchen to sit down, noticing that Blaine had placed a mug of tea by the side of his plate while he was gone.

"Oh, thank you." Kurt sent him a small grateful smile.

"You're welcome. I thought you could use it." Blaine stared at him before adding, "you know what I do best, after macaroni?

Kurt swallowed his mouthful more politely before looking up at him curiously. "What's that?"

"I'm a great listener. It's a bonus that I usually charge to the guests, but I could make an exception for you." Blaine responded with a small smile.

"Listening? To what exactly?"

Kurt raised an eyebrow as his inner defences went up.

"Oh, I didn't mean to say that I was listening to your conversation on the phone." Blaine explained. "It's just... well, working here makes you talk to a lot of different people and... sometimes it's good to vent, that's all."

"Thanks but i don't need to vent. And don't take offense at this or anything but i don't really know you." Kurt said with a small uncomfortable smile.

"That's true, but some people find it easier to talk to strangers about their problems." Blaine shrugged. "I just wanted you to know that if it was your case, you could count on me."

"Thanks but i'm fine Blaine." Kurt said as he took the mug of tea in his hand and then took the plate to the sink, "thanks for the dinner and tea, i think i may go and drink it in my room and try and sleep."

"Yeah, of course." Blaine got up from the table too. "I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable, I didn't mean to."

"No you didn't. I'm just tired." Kurt said as he began to rinse off the dish in the sink and then put it on the side before picking up his tea and turning back with a smile, "goodnight."

"Goodnight Kurt."

Blaine watched Kurt go up the stairs and sighed quietly to himself, even though it had only been 2 weeks since Kurt moved in, Blaine was always quick to recognize how to help the people that came to his door, if they needed it.

Kurt seemed very defensive and dismissive. But Blaine knew it was only patience and time he needed to get to know his new tenant upstairs.

xoxoxoxo

Blaine couldn't sleep, somehow his mind wouldn't let him settle tonight. It was nearing 2am now and he was still tossing and turning in his bed...throwing covers on and off, half over his legs, over his face.

He put his fan on, he turned it off...nothing as working.

But...Just then, he heard the front door open and click shut. He could always hear it from his room, so he sat up with tired eyes and listened closely.

No footsteps went to the stairs or into the kitchen, which had wooden floors...so whoever it was must have stopped in the living area?

Maybe it was another homeless person looking for a night away from the wind and rain.

He got up slowly to go and investigate, usually he would give the homeless person some food and a blanket and let them sleep on the couch for the night, but when he walked down the short hall that led to the living space, he paused as he could hear sniffling and small sobs.

Sobs that he had recognized over the few times he had heard them.

It was Kurt.

"Kurt?" He asked in a low voice to let him know he was there and not startle him.

Kurt jumped slightly and looked around in surprise.

"Oh Blaine...i thought you'd be asleep already." He said while wiping his face.

"I usually would be, but for some reason I can't sleep tonight."

Blaine walked to the kitchen and grabbed some paper napkins before heading back to the living area. He sat in a chair next to Kurt and handed the napkins to him. "Here."

"Thanks." Kurt took them without looking up at him, and wiped his face and nose before sniffling loudly, "you must think i look pathetic?"

"Because you are crying?" Blaine looked at him blankly. "I think if someone feels like crying, the best thing to do is to let it out."

Kurt burst out into fresh sobs and Blaine handed him more tissues so that he could let it all out...and just sat next to him in silent comfort for a few minutes until Kurt sat up and leaned back against the chair with a big sigh.

"What has my life come to? I really didn't plan on this." he muttered out loud, before turning his head to the side and giving Blaine a sad look, "...my dad has cancer."

"Oh Kurt... I'm so sorry." Blaine placed a comforting hand on his shoulder and squeezed it gently. "I knew something was wrong, but I couldn't imagine this. How is he doing?"

"He's okay right now...but the cancer is very aggressive and the treatment has to be aggressive," Kurt told him, "he's been sick a lot, but that's not the worst thing, the worst thing is the insurance he has will only pay for basic treatment, which my step mother is trying to fight off...so they have to foot the bill."

Kurt shook his head.

"I've been working 3 jobs to help them pay for it."

"That's why you are living here and spending so many hours outside." Blaine sighed. "I can't even imagine what you're going through, and I'm sure your father is very grateful for what you're doing."

He hesitated to say what he was thinking. He didn't want Kurt to think that he was meddling too much.

"But... if you fall ill, you won't be able to help him anymore. And this pace of life is unsustainable in the long run, Kurt."

"I know...but it's the only thing i can do to stop my family from suffering...i would do anything to help my father." Kurt said lightly, "he's my life."

Blaine watched Kurt as he looked at the ground, and wished he could do something to take some of that heavy weight off his shoulders.

"My offer is still on the table, you know?" He reminded him.

"Working for you? Or taking your offer of listening because i think i've already done that."

Blaine gave him a smile as he leaned back in his chair.

"Working for me, yeah. Maybe you could quit one of the other jobs, and since you would be working on the same place where you live, you could take it a little easier."

Kurt sighed again and placed his head in his hands. "It would be easier. Maybe i could give up the night shift at the supermarket?"

"Maybe. You wouldn't have to worry about paying for the room, and it wouldn't take you a lot of time. You can cook everything at once, and I would only have to heat it up at mealtime."

"How many people would i need to cook for? I don't mind doing it if i'll be around at dinner time."

"Not many. If the B&B is full, it could be about 10 people, but usually there are even less." Blaine answered. "How does it sound?"

"It sounds fine. So when will i be able to start?" Kurt asked with a small smile, "and did you say my room would be free?"

"Tomorrow, maybe?" Blaine suggested. "And it wouldn't be free... you would be paying for it with your work."

"Right." Kurt nodded a little.

Blaine knew he didn't fully understand though so he said, "you'll be paid too, you know."

Kurt raised his eyebrows at that.

"I though i would be paying for my room with the work?"

Blaine actually let out a small chuckle.

"Yes, and being paid."

"Oh." Kurt said with a little surprise and then blushed with embarrassment, "i'm sorry i thought...nevermind."

"Look, I know you think I'm trying to do you a favor or something, but it's not like that. I really need someone to give me a hand, and if I hired a professional cook, it would be much more expensive." Blaine explained with a small smile.

"Well it would be a favor for a favor right? i help you out here, and in turn it helps me out." Kurt shrugged and then smiled a little as he held out his hand to Blaine, "well then, i'm happy to help you."

"Yes! Welcome aboard, Kurt." Blaine said with a wider smile this time and shaking Kurt's hand. "And since I'm going to be your boss, I suggest you to go to sleep now. It's late and you must be exhausted."

With that being said, Kurt's smile turned into a big yawn and he shook his head lightly.

"Sorry...i am really tired. i guess i should go to bed now." He got up from his place on the couch and then turned to walk away a little, "...thank you Blaine. It means a lot to have someone helping me."

Kurt gave him one last honest smile before he disappeared up the stairs.

Blaine watched him go and sighed. He appreciated what had just happened and that Kurt had been so honest with him, but he couldn't imagine that he was going through such a difficult time.

He would like to be able to help him with much more than a job, but at least he was going to be there in case Kurt needed him.

He really cared for him, even though he didn't really know why.

xoxoxoxoox

"Hey, you're just in time. My chicken parm is done." Kurt said with a smile as he turned to see Blaine step into the kitchen. "Although i think Joe is working late, so i'll have to leave some here for him when he gets back."

It had been about a week since Kurt had been cooking for Blaine at the inn, and he had such a great personality, he got along well with all the other guests. The women that were staying there right now all loved him, and Blaine had watched him chat with them and laugh with them.

Kurt's dark circles underneath his eyes were a lot lighter too now, obviously giving up his night time work had done wonders for his sleep.

He also smiled a lot more around the inn, and Blaine never heard him crying anymore.

If a week of light work could do that for him, Blaine wanted to see how carefree he would be when Kurt really lived for himself.

"Oh great, i'm actually starving." Blaine exclaimed as he smelled dinner and nearly drooled over it.

Kurt laughed.

"Well you have been slaving over those books for hours."

"Someone has to do it." Blaine shrugged, standing next to Kurt and glancing at the pot with the chicken. "If you keep cooking like this, I'm going to end up getting fat."

"Oh i think you'll be alright with little chubby cheeks." Kurt grinned as he plated some up for him and handed it to him, before Celia appeared around the corner from the stairs, she stayed in the room two doors down from Kurt's, "oh hey. Chicken parm?"

"Thanks Kurt, you're the best." She said as she took the plate he offered to her and then went to go and sit at the big table.

Kurt turned back to Blaine.

"You'd better go and sit down and eat before it goes cold."

"Sir, yes sir." Blaine answered. "But you have to sit down to eat too. I don't want Celia to go around saying that this place exploits the workers."

"Oh i'll eat in a second, i just need to plate up some for Joe and leave it in the oven to say warm." Kurt said with a grin and wink, as he did just what he said before some of the others appeared for dinner too.

Once everyone was eating, Kurt sat down on the corner of the table next to Blaine with his own plate.

"Let me tell you that you look good." Blaine commented after swallowing a bite of chicken. "Do you sleep better?"

"Much better. Thanks to you. And i don't have to work nights at the supermarket either which is good. That uniform was itchy." Kurt replied with a smile as he ate too, making Blaine laugh.

"No, thanks to you. The guests are delighted with you, and not just with your food." Blaine patted his hand.

Kurt blushed a little and didn't say anything to that, he just smiled to himself as everyone chatted around him.

Once everyone was done, some of the girls offered to clean up the plates for him but Kurt refused the help, claiming that it was part of his job now. Celia gave him a kiss on the cheek before she left, and some of the others passed with waves before going out.

Kurt stood at the sink with the plates in his hand, filling the bowl with soapy water, when Blaine appeared next to him.

"If you tell me where you put the rags, I will dry the dishes while you wash them. And this is not a criticism that in a week you have moved almost everything to a different place." He playfully nudged Kurt.

"It's much more proficient than it was." Kurt replied with a nod, before pointing to the cupboard just next to the oven at the bottom, "the clean ones are in there."

Blaine went to get the rag and then walked back to the sink, quickly drying off one of the pans Kurt had just washed.

"If you don't want to talk about this, just tell me and I'll shut up, but... how is your dad?" He asked, glancing at Kurt out of the corner of his eye.

"He's the same really." Kurt replied lightly, giving Blaine a tight smile, "not that we expected much difference to be honest, i just wish i could do more to help."

Blaine nodded at that, and Kurt continued with a really long sigh.

"He doesn't know i live here. He thinks i still live in my old apartment with my friend."

"I understand. You don't want to add any more worries to his situation." Blaine said, and it wasn't a question. "But you're sacrificing so much to help him, Kurt. You can't push yourself that hard."

"I need to...not just for him but for my step mother and for me. We both need my dad. And she can't work double hospital shifts and take care of him alone. Whatever i can do...i will do." Kurt explained a little coldly, almost as if he was telling himself more than Blaine.

"Did you live here in the city?" Blaine asked softly.

"Yes. I moved out here for college 2 years ago, but i don't go anymore. My dad really kicked my arse verbally for that."

"What did you study?" Blaine asked, setting the plate he had just dried on the counter.

"Theatrical arts and music...i wanted to be a performer on Broadway." Kurt responded a little sadly, as he gave Blaine the last plate.

"You can still do that." Blaine was quick to reply. "This is just a rough patch, Kurt... your life is not over."

"I think i've lost all hope of ever getting back into that school."

"Kurt, you are doing your best to help your father." Blaine muttered. "You are stubborn, passionate and hardworking... if you dream of Broadway, you will make it to Broadway. As long as you don't sing horribly wrong, of course." He added jokingly.

"Apparently i've been told i have a voice like an angel, i can sing but i don't know how far i'll get without acting classes." Kurt said with a tiny smile.

"I don't know anything about acting, but if you need someone to give you the lines or hear you sing, I promise to be completely honest if you suck." Blaine laughed.

Kurt laughed out loud at that.

"Thanks a lot." He nudged Blaine and then splashed water on him before taking the towel from him and wiping his hands.

"Hey!" Blaine protested, wiping his face with his sleeve as he hid a grin. "The only reason I won't take this insubordination into consideration is because I really like hearing you laugh."

He blushed a little at his own words and busied himself putting all the plates into place... well, the new place that Kurt had given them.

Kurt flushed a little too, and stepped back to wipe down the table with a cloth and cleared his throat.

"Well...i've only been laughing more because i feel lighter. A big weight is off my shoulders." Kurt shrugged, "at least for now."

"You're so strong, Kurt. If I were in your shoes, I don't know if I could get out of bed every day." Blaine confessed, looking at him again. "I'm someone who has a knack for knowing how other people feel, but incredibly clumsy at handling his own emotions."

"What did you say? You have a knack for knowing how people feel?" Kurt asked as he looked up from the table and Blaine shrugged with a small smile, "like...intuition?"

"Yes, something like that." Blaine answered without going into detail. "Would you like some tea before you go to your room?"

"Sure. Thank you." Kurt gave Blaine another smile as he sat back down at the table, "do you get along with your parents?"

"I adore them." Blaine replied with a smile as he filled the kettle with water. "My dad is loving and funny, and my mom... my mom is the best woman in the world. Although she tends to get into my private life more than necessary."

"Do they live in New York?" Kurt asked after a small pause in the conversation as the kettle began to boil and Blaine turned to give him a nod.

"Yes. I was born in Ohio, but we moved here when I was 5 because of my dad's work." Blaine replied, pouring the water into the cups and placing one in front of Kurt before going for the tea box.

"Is owning this place something you always wanted to do?"

"Before answering that, promise me that you're not going to laugh at me." Blaine said, pointing his finger at him threateningly.

"Of course not." Kurt raised his hands and then took a tea bag out of one of the boxes to place it in his cup.

"Fine. When I was a kid, I wanted to be a doctor. I guess I wanted to help people, and I thought that was the best way to do it. But when I was 12, my mom was cooking in the kitchen, and she cut herself accidentally. It was nothing serious, but when I saw all that blood, I... well, I got a little dizzy and passed out. So at that moment I knew I had to change my mind." Blaine told him, very focused on his cup.

"Oh i see. I'm not great with blood either to be honest." Kurt said with a nod, "so how did you come to this idea?"

"I still wanted to help people, you know? I'm a sociable guy, I love talking and meeting all kinds of people. And this place... well, it belonged to my paternal grandma. She loved me very much, and when she died, she left it to me as an inheritance, so I decided to reform it and turn it into a B&B." Blaine shrugged, taking a sip of his tea.

"Oh thank you, Kurt." Blaine smiled warmly at him. "I have to say that since you arrived, food has improved remarkably. Who taught you to cook?"

Kurt looked down at the cup of tea in his hands with a small sad smile.

"My mother...she died when i was 9. I would cook with her all the time, and after she died and it was just me and my dad for a while, i took on the role of cook."

Without thinking twice, Blaine reached out and took Kurt's hand in his.

"I'm so sorry. It's really unfair that you had to go through this when you were just a kid." He looked into his eyes intently before adding, "but don't think that destiny has something against you. We build our own destiny every day, and I'm sure things will get better."

"Yeah...i know." Kurt replied as he squeezed Blaine's fingers gently, "it was hard at first, but it got better. And i know that the situation we're in now...will pass by too."

"It will. And if your father is half as fierce as his son, I think he'll pull through." Blaine assured him. "By the way, if you ever need a day off to go see him, count on it, okay?"

"Oh...well, that's generous of you Blaine. But with me sending my dad most of my money, i don't think i would have enough to go there. Maybe once his treatment is finished?" Kurt told him, "do you know, over the last 2 months, i've sent my dad 7000 dollars."

"Wow, that's a lot of money." Blaine answered, and then frowned. "If you need it, I could pay you weekly, or give you an advance..."

"Oh no...no, i can't do that to you." Kurt waved it off quickly, "i would never be able to look you in the eyes if i take more money from you. I would just like to earn it."

"You're not taking any money from me." Blaine made it clear. "You are working here, and working hard. I only offered to give you your salary weekly... I don't mind, and if that helps you to feel calmer, I want to do it."

"Are you sure? I don't want you to help just because of my sob story...i mean it's not your job to look after me." Kurt said quickly, feeling his face redden with shame.

"Wait here." Blaine got up from the table and left the kitchen.

He was back there in just a couple of minutes with an envelope in his hand.

"Before you say anything, I don't feel pity on you." He told Kurt, handing him the envelope. "I want to think that we are friends, and friends help each other. This is yours... you earned it."

"Wha-?" Kurt stammered as he opened the envelope and then gasped, "Blaine, there's like 500 dollars in here! I can't take this!"

"You can and you will. It's for your dad, Kurt." Blaine insisted, his big eyes fixed on Kurt's.

Kurt alternated between looking at Blaine and the money in his hand for a long moment. His facial expression eventually changed from shock to appreciation and his eyes brimmed with tears. He threw himself at Blaine, their chests colliding slightly and he put his arms around his shoulders.

"thank you," he whispered, "thank you so much..."

Blaine froze for a second, surprised by the gesture, but then he wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist.

"You're welcome." He answered in a low voice.

Kurt's arms tightened for a second as he sniffled a little, before he pulled back slowly and gave Blaine a big smile.

"You're a wonderful person Blaine."

"I'm just trying to help." Blaine wiped Kurt's tears away with his thumbs before smiling back at him. "No one should go through something like this alone."

Kurt nodded slowly and then tilted his head and laughed a little.

"I feel like i shouldn't be crying...i think i've lost control of my emotions since i've been here."

"If you want to cry, cry. I'm not going to be scared by that... I do too." Blaine winked at him.

Kurt couldn't help but giggle as he pulled away from Blaine and then put the envelope in his pocket.

"Well...i guess i should go to bed. Thank you again Blaine."

"Stop thanking me." Blaine scolded him with a small smile. "Make some chocolate dessert tomorrow, okay? And we're even."

"Deal." Kurt smiled and then nodded with a bright smile as he left the kitchen.

Blaine hung up the phone and walked nervously behind the desk.

He could hear Kurt humming in the kitchen, and he didn't want to ruin his good mood or the solid friendship that was growing day by day between them.

They had only known each other for about three weeks, but Blaine would hate to mess things up between them.

He took a deep breath and headed to the kitchen, allowing himself to watch Kurt for a few seconds from the doorframe.

Kurt was humming a song underneath his breath as he was mixing something very chocolatey in a bowl, and he turned to grab something else on the counter, he spotted Blaine and gave him a big smile.

"Oh hey, i thought you were going to be busy all afternoon?"

"And I'm busy. I have to update the reservations on the computer and check on the website, but I was wondering if we could talk for a minute." Blaine said, running his hand through his curls nervously.

"Ok, what's making you do that?" Kurt said as he pointed to Blaine's hands and then the messed up curls , "you only do that when you're nervous."

"How can you know that?" Blaine asked, buying himself some time. "You've known me for less than a month."

"And you get the nervous brow shake," Kurt said as he pointed to Blaine's eyebrows and then his hands, "and mess up your hair so much. What's up? Has something happened?"

Blaine started pacing the kitchen, avoiding Kurt's gaze.

"I... I know you don't like me worrying about you, but... but I care. And I've done something and... you might think I've crossed a line."

Kurt put the bowl of chocolate down on the counter and wiped his hands on a cloth, before furrowing his eyebrows and giving all of his attention to Blaine.

"What did you do?"

Blaine ran his hand through his hair again, and leaned against the counter before looking at Kurt.

"I told my mom about you... and your dad. She is a lawyer and collaborates with many charities. I wanted to ask her if she knew of any organization that could help you financially and... she found something." He blurted out.

Before Kurt could answer, he kept talking.

"I know I should have told you, that I have no right to discuss your private life with another person, but-"

"What did she find?" Kurt interrupted as he asked in a hopeful voice

Blaine's eyes widened when the yelling he expected didn't come, but he immediately took his cell phone out of his pocket and walked over to Kurt, turning the screen for him to see.

"It's a small organization that collaborates with the American Association For Cancer. The director is a good friend of my mom, and she's going to throw a fundraiser for your dad. If everything goes as expected, they could raise about 30,000 dollars by the end of the month."

"Oh my god...this is amazing." Kurt said as he took Blaine's phone and began scrolling through the information, smiling widely as he handed it back and took his own phone out, "i have to call my dad..."

Kurt walked through the kitchen doorway, but then turned around with his phone to his ear and walked back to Blaine, leaning in and kissing his cheek lightly with a 'thank you', before walking back out as his father answered.

"Hey dad...i have news.."

Blaine smiled in relief, sitting down on one of the kitchen chairs. He had a lot of work to do, but he wanted to wait for Kurt to come back from talking to his father.

Kurt kept surprising him. When he expected him to put some distance between them, he had simply kissed his cheek in gratitude. And now Blaine had a mixture of sensations inside of him, although he tried to convince himself that they all came from the fondness he felt for Kurt and his desire to help him, and not from the tingling of his skin after the kiss.

He couldn't like Kurt. They were just friends.

"No, dad it's true...it's really..." Kurt stopped and Blaine could hear him sigh a little, "..dad, there's something i have to tell you."

Then Blaine forgot about his mess of feelings and focused on Kurt. He only had to look at him to know what he was about to tell his father, and when Kurt made eye contact with him, Blaine nodded and gave him a smile.

"I moved out of the apartment...i'm erm...staying at a bed and breakfast." Kurt finally said aloud, and then Blaine saw his eyes fill with tears at whatever response his father was giving, "...dad...dad..."

Blaine got up and walked over to Kurt, taking his hand. He knew that he wasn't going to pull away now, that he needed him there.

"Dad...wait...please, just listen to me." Kurt tried again and Blaine could hear Kurt's father's voice on the line, as he was telling Kurt about responsibility and safety, "dad...it's actually really nice here."

Blaine noticed that Kurt was starting to shake and knew he was about to cry, so he stepped in front of him to make him look him in the eye and mouthed, 'let me talk to him.'

"Dad...just stop for a second. Blaine's the owner of the place and he's been helping me...he wants to talk to you." Kurt said quickly, and then held the phone out for Blaine to take as he hugged an arm around his chest and sat down.

Blaine took the phone and held it to his ear, still looking at Kurt.

"Mr. Hummel? I'm Blaine Anderson." He introduced himself.

"Hey...look i appreciate what your mother has done for me, Kurt told me all about it. But i don't get why he's staying at a bed and breakfast when he has a perfectly good apartment with a friend...and i'm so angry that i don't know what to do about it."

"Kurt is trying to save as much money as possible." Blaine explained. "I know you disagree, but trust me... I'm the first one who tries to stop Kurt from working more than necessary, and I make sure he sleeps as much hours as he needs, and that he eats properly. If he went back to his apartment, he would have to take another job, and that would be awful for him."

Blaine heard a deep sigh from him down the phone.

"...I just worry about him...i knew he was working a few jobs, but he always seemed fine when he called us. Was he really not sleeping?"

"He wasn't." Blaine confirmed. "I know this is not what you wanted for your son, but now he works here, and everyone loves him... and if the fundraiser works, and I'm sure it will, this will only be temporary."

"...could you pass me back to my son please?"

"Sure. Nice to meet you, sir, even on the phone." Blaine told him before handing the phone back to Kurt.

Kurt took it a little nervously, giving Blaine a small smile as he spoke to his dad.

"No dad...i'm actually doing really well here. I promise i really like it here...of course...when this is all sorted out i'll go back to school."

Blaine smiled to himself at that.

"I know dad, i'm sorry....yeah i know." Kurt actually smiled as he looked up at Blaine then, "yeah...he's a great person."

Blaine blushed a little, but he smiled back at him before going to get a glass of water.

The conversation with Kurt's father had been interesting... he had sensed a lot about that man during their short chat, and saw a lot about him in Kurt.

"I know dad...i promise i'll let you know. Okay...i love you." Kurt sighed as he hung up the phone and leaned his head in his arms on the table.

Blaine went up to him and put a hand on his shoulder.

"The good news? Your father is one of a kind. I don't think there is a cancer that can beat him." He commented.

"Yeah. He's a strong man." Kurt mumbled from his arms.

"Hey... look at me." Blaine asked.

Kurt turned so that his face was on the side, and stared up at Blaine from laying on his arms.

"You've done what you had to do, okay? Hiding things from the people we love only makes us carry a heavy backpack. And your father only wants the best for you... he'll get over it." Blaine told him with conviction.

"I know...i didn't want to hide it from him but he would have only worried about me." Kurt said as he finally sat up and leaned back to look up at Blaine properly, "is there any way i can thank your mother? She's done something incredible for us, without even knowing us."

"Are you kidding? You don't have to do anything." Blaine told him, sitting down across from him. "She doesn't know you or your dad, but she knows me, and my opinion of you is enough for her. Thanks for not getting mad about that, by the way."

"Why would i be mad? It's the kindest thing anyone has ever done for me." Kurt said with a confused smile, "i mean, people don't really look out for each other here in New York, it's rare to find people that are so caring and giving."

"Well, I know that you're very reserved, and that the subject of your father is sensitive, but I'm glad I was able to help." Blaine sighed. "I think the man I spoke to on the phone wouldn't forgive me if I didn't take good care of you."

"Probably not." Kurt smirked a little at that, "...i'd better get back to that chocolate cake. It's going to be dessert today."

He stood up to go back to the counter and grabbed the bowl, mixing it a little more.

"I shouldn't have told you about chocolate that night... now you're just spoiling me." Blaine laughed. "I'll be out there, freaking out with numbers. If you need anything, you know where to find me."

"Of course. But i'm good here."

"Okay. See you later." Blaine gave him one last look before going out the kitchen, hoping he could focus on work for a bit.

3 hours later and Blaine was still shut up in his office. Kurt had finished dinner a while ago now, and all of the guests had eaten and taken a piece of the chocolate cake he had made back to their rooms to eat.

Kurt had actually made a special thank you dessert fro Blaine. Although he was starting to think Blaine had forgotten about dinner.

As Kurt washed up the last plate and left it to dry on the draining board, he plated Blaine up some vegetarian lasagne that was his mother's specialty when he was younger and grabbed the small container with the chocolate cheesecake inside.

He headed to the office out back, and knocked on the door.

"Come in." Was Blaine's reply from inside the office.

As Kurt opened the door slowly, he was met with Blaine sat behind the desk, stacked with papers and Kurt winced a little at the amount of it.

"I see you're stuck with work right now." He said as Blaine greeted him with a smile, and Kurt raised the plate in his hand, "it's dinner time. I brought it to you."

"Kurt, you didn't have to." Blaine answered, despite the growl coming from his stomach. "I should finish this first."

"Oh Blaine, don't make me tell you off for not eating, i can turn into a right bitch." Kurt said as he walked up to the desk with a smirk and placed the dinner down in front of Blaine, "your work can wait for 20 minutes."

Kurt handed him a fork and then placed the tupperware tub down next to the plate with a spoon on top of it.

"Is there anything i can help with, while i'm here?"

"No. You've already done your job, you don't have to do mine too." Blaine smiled at him before stuffing some lasagne into his mouth. "I didn't even know what time it was... is the kitchen empty yet?"

"Yes, everyone has eaten and gone. And yes...i've had dinner and cake too." Kurt said as he moved to take the other chair and sat down to look at the paperwork in front of Blaine, "i mean i can help, if you want me to."

"Are you sure? I have to sort all these invoices by date... if you could do it for me, that would be great. I think the numbers are getting all mixed up in my head."

"I can do that, while you eat your dinner." Kurt said as he grabbed the pile of papers in front of Blaine and pulled them across the desk so that he could flick through them and sort them for him.

Blaine watched Kurt as he ate the lasagne with a small smile on his face.

"You should be sleeping after a long day, not here helping me." He commented.

"And you should be eating and not talking to me right now...let me concentrate." Kurt responded sarcastically, giving Blaine a small smirk over the papers in his hands.

"Bossy." Blaine whispered, laughing and finishing his meal as Kurt busied himself with the invoices.

When he finished, he looked at the tupperware excitedly.

"Tell me there's a slide of that cake you were making for the guests in here."

"Actually, everyone else has had a slice of chocolate cake, i decided that my boss should probably have something more special for helping me out." Kurt said as he raised his eyes again as Blaine uncovered the dessert and gasped.

"Oh Kurt..." Blaine managed to say as his mouth watered. "Is it some kind of cheesecake?"

"My mother's own recipe, chocolate and raspberry."

Blaine looked at it closely, licking his lips over the brown and pink mix on top of the creamy cheese base.

"It's so pretty that it makes me feel sad to eat it." He told Kurt.

"Trust me, once you have a bite, you won't be feeling sad about it." Kurt laughed as he put the pile of papers down that he had sorted and reached for the next pile.

And he was right. As soon as Blaine tasted it, he had to restrain himself from finishing it in two big bites.

In just a few minutes, though, he found himself sliding his fingers over the tupperware until it was completely clean.

"This must be the most pathetic thing you've ever seen, but it was delicious, Kurt. Thank you so much."

"Oh, when i tasted it first time, i literally could not stop licking the plate my mother gave me. I understand." Kurt said as he placed the second pile back in front of Blaine, "and you're welcome. I've done the invoices, anything else you need?"

"Yes, I need you to rest for a while." Blaine answered, gently holding his wrists to prevent him from reaching for more papers. "And I want you to tell me if you feel better... I know the conversation with your father wasn't easy."

"No. It was one of the hardest things i've ever done. But it's all out in the open now, i feel like a weight is off my shoulders again. I'm doing fine Blaine i promise." Kurt told him with a small smile, as a little bit of colour flooded his cheeks at Blaine's staring.

"Okay I believe you." Blaine replied, looking at him intently. "But I think you should take a day off."

"A day off? What for?"

"Whatever you want. How long it has been since you simply walked around the city?" Blaine asked him. "I'm not going to tell you to spend any money, because I know you won't do it, but take a little time for yourself. You can sleep all day, or find a bench in Central Park to sit and read on it. Do what you feel like doing."

"I guess i could go and see Rachel, i haven't really spoken to her for a while." Kurt said with a sigh, "but is it really okay, i mean, you'd have to cook and things again. I know how busy it gets in here."

"Kurt, I'll be able to take care of everything for a day. I've been doing it for years." Blaine told him. "I'll miss you hanging around the kitchen and singing when you think no one hears you, though."

"Oh. You can hear that? I thought i was being quiet." Kurt said with a smile and the redness deepened over his cheeks and nose.

"Please, never be quiet. I love your voice... everyone here does, I mean." Blaine added, and now he blushed a little too.

Kurt chuckled a little and they both were quiet for a few moments, until the air around the small office got a little too intense with energy. Kurt gave Blaine a grateful smile and then stood up to take the plate and box.

"I'll go wash these up and go to bed then." He said as he turned to leave.

"Sure. Thanks again, Kurt, for helping me out and for the food. It's nice to have someone to take care of me having dinner." Blaine smiled at him.

Kurt paused at the door and turned to give Blaine a big smile.

"It's no less than what you deserve." He said while his cheeks were still tinted red, "goodnight Blaine."

When Kurt closed the door, Blaine tried to force his heart to stop beating so fast. Maybe he did like Kurt a little... or a lot. And he was pretty sure Kurt felt the same way.

He could feel it, he could sense it. But Kurt was in a vulnerable position, his father was very ill... he would never try to complicate things for him.

But with how easy it was to know other people's feelings, why did it seem so hard to control his own when Kurt was around?

xoxoxoxox

A few weeks later, it was like the sunshine had come out, had broken through the storm clouds over Kurt and bathed him in warm light.

His father was now getting on leaps and bounds in his new treatment, and Blaine's mother getting the charity involved was also helpful. Over the last few weeks, they had told Burt and Carole that they would be paying for most of the treatment, and Carole's own work would be able to pay easily for the last 10 percent of it.

Kurt still sent them some money, but it wasn't as much because they didn't need much now.

Kurt had also seen his friends a lot more, and began smiling and laughing and singing more around the B&B, because he felt lighter, now that there was so much help for his father.

He had also given up his other jobs, and now just worked for Blaine.

It freed up his time so he had begun to draw and build up a portfolio or clippings and drawings to send to fashion houses around New York, they were hiring new inspiration. Kurt could see himself in the fashion world...not that his dreams of becoming big on Broadway was over...but he had to go back to school for that.

And he would...sometime soon. But for now, life felt like it was looking up.

And also, Blaine had been treating him a little differently. Over the last week, Kurt had seen Blaine become more open and playful with him, laughing and joking more with Kurt and with the other guests.

Kurt thought maybe his better mood was rubbing off on him.

He also loved the freedom Blaine gave him as an employer, he could take one day off a week, to just be himself and do what he wanted to do. But he would still sneak back in to cook dinner, and when Blaine actually caught him he just gave him a smile and a roll of his eyes.

Kurt loved cooking though, he didn't want to give that part of his job up.

As of right now, he was just putting the pan of chicken alfredo pasta into the oven when his phone rang.

He smiled as he answered. "Carole hey."

"Hey honey. How are you?" She asked in her usual sweet tone.

"I'm good Carole. So good right now." Kurt smiled as he turned the phone to loud speaker so that he could place it down on the counter and start pulling together a salad, "i hear the treatment is going well now. Dad sounds so much brighter."

"He has me impressed." Carole answered. "You should see him... you can tell there's a positive change in him. I think we can start to be optimistic about this."

"Yeah and i am. It's so great now." Kurt said with a wider smile, he could imagine his father getting himself back, "..oh, i need to tell you, i've been making the portfolio for that fashion house advert i found. I think i'll be able to send it soon."

"Oh Kurt, that's amazing!" She exclaimed. "But does that mean you're going to look for a job in fashion? What about college?"

"Well, i'm going to go back soon Carole i promise, although i think for now the admissions for the school have ended, but i need to do something in the mean time right? I can't work for Blaine forever."

"You're right. And you know we support you in everything." Carole said before giggling. "Speaking of Blaine... how is he?"

Blaine was about to enter the kitchen when he heard that Kurt was on the phone, apparently with his stepmother. He was about to turn around, but when she said his name, he couldn't help but listen for a bit.

"He's different...i don't know what it is. He's a lot happier recently." Kurt answered her as he mixed the salad together in a bowl.

"You seem happier too, and I know the main reason is your dad, but... I couldn't help but think that maybe it also has something to do with him." She said nonchalantly.

Blaine stiffened behind the wall. He shouldn't be hearing that phone call, he knew it, but he needed to know what Kurt was about to answer.

"With Blaine?" Kurt asked in a quiet voice, blushing slightly, "I don't know Carole...i mean he's my boss i work for him."

"I know, sweetie, but the last few times we've talked... I don't know, you keep saying how wonderful he is and how well he treats you. And I couldn't help but thinking that maybe there was something else between you two."

"...Oh Carole..." Kurt responded emotionally, "he's so wonderful...you have no idea. And he's cute, but the hot kind of cute you know? He's kind of everything i think i ever wanted to find in a boyfriend."

Blaine's eyes widened behind the wall at that.

"But- i don't think it will happen. Not while i'm working here at least. It's too complicated."

Blaine sighed as a sudden pang shot through his heart. He turned and walked back to his office. He couldn't keep listening to that.

"Oh Kurt... can I give you some advice?" Carole asked.

"Sure." Kurt muttered a little.

"You've been working non-stop and worrying too much for months." Carole started. "I know that love is scary, but nothing is more scary than the possibility of losing someone we love, you and I know it well. You really like that guy... don't miss the chance to have something good and real just because it's complicated."

Kurt smiled as he thought about what it might be like to be with Blaine. To be in love. To have a boyfriend.

"It is scary. You're right. But even scarier is probably not being around him or not taking that chance."

"You should talk to him and find out if he feels the same. And let me know what happens next, of course." Carole giggled. "Your father doesn't say it, but I think he also thinks that there is something between you two."

Kurt blushed as he thought about it.

"I guess...it would be nice to have a boyfriend. Someone like Blaine. No not someone like him. Just him. He's literally the greatest man i've ever met...apart from my father."

"Oh, I think this is the first time I've heard you talk about someone like this, honey." Carole sighed. "If all goes well, you could ask him to join you when you come visit us. I would love to meet him."

"I'm pretty sure he would love to meet you guys too." Kurt responded lightly and after a couple more minutes of talking to Carole about work and his dad, dinner was done and he had to go, "i'll be sure to tell you how it goes. I may tell him today."

"I'm very excited about this." Carole replied, and Kurt could imagine her smiling face. "Well, take good care of yourself, sweetie. And... good luck with your guy."

"Thank you, love to you and Dad."

When Kurt hung up the phone, there were steps coming down the stairs, obviously the other guests coming down for dinner. Kurt smiled as people appeared around the kitchen doorway and everyone offered to take things over to the table.

Once everyone was seated, Kurt waited a few more minutes for Blaine to appear, but when he didn't, he chose to go and look for him.

When Kurt got to Blaine's office, he knocked softly on the door, and was surprised that Blaine opened it instead of just inviting him inside.

"Kurt? What are you doing here?" Blaine asked in a neutral tone.

"I just wanted to let you know that dinner was ready." Kurt said with his usual smile, "are you joining us?"

"No, I'm not very hungry... but thank you." Blaine replied, looking at the floor.

"Oh do you feel sick? Do you need some water, i can get some for y-"

"I'm fine, Kurt." Blaine cut him off, his jaw clenching a little. "You can go have dinner with the others."

Kurt looked a little taken aback by Blaine's abrupt tone and his eyes shone with hurt as he frowned a little.

"What's wrong Blaine? You don't usually snap at me."

Blaine huffed and rubbed his face with both hands.

"I'm sorry, I didn't want to talk to you like that. I... I'm just tired, and a little sad, I guess. That's all." He told him.

"Sad?" Kurt repeated with a slump of his shoulders, "you can talk to me you know?"

Blaine stepped aside so Kurt could enter the office and closed the door behind him, before going to lean against his desk.

"The thing is... Kurt, do you like me?" He asked directly.

"Oh!" Kurt gasped with surprise, "did you hear the conversation earlier...gosh i'm sorry Blaine i didn't want to put you in a compromising position. I erm...i don't- I don't know how to answer that."

Kurt could feel his breathing quicken and he could feel his anxiety kick in.

"Oh god...are you going to fire me?"

"No, never! Don't worry about that." Blaine clarified. "And yes, I heard a part of your conversation with your stepmother, and I apologize. I had no right, and... you don't have to feel bad because you don't like me. I guess my... intuition failed me for the first time."

"What? Did you just say i don't like you?" Kurt asked as he calmed down and too a deep breath, "what part of the conversation did you hear?"

"Well, you were saying some really nice things about me..." Blaine blushed a little and looked down at his own hands on his lap. "But then you told her that it was complicated, and that you work for me, and... after that, I came back here."

"Oh Blaine..." Kurt sighed with a small smile, "..maybe you should have snooped on the rest of the conversation?"

Kurt walked towards him slowly and leaned on the desk next to him. He nudge him with his arm and Blaine looked at him.

"I only told her it was complicated because i work for you...and i didn't want you to think this was some misguided crush because you've been helping me, you know? Didn't want it to seem like i was coming onto you because you're my boss."

"Coming onto me, huh?" Blaine muttered as a smile grew on his face. "I knew I had felt it. But Kurt... I don't think we never had a power relationship, you know? I've always seen you more as a friend than a guest or an employee. Well, now I see you as something more."

Kurt nodded and then something stuck out in his head...

"Felt it? what do you mean you felt it?"

Blaine took a deep breath and fixed his eyes on Kurt's.

"I don't know if telling you this is going to ruin any chance of something happening between us, or if you're going to think I'm crazy, but... I'm an empath. Since I was a kid, I've always known how others felt before they told me."

To Blaine's surprise Kurt only gave him a smile and a nod of understanding.

"That's why you trusted me and didn't ask me personal questions when i first moved in, isn't it?"

"Yes." Blaine answered, still a bit shocked. "I just had to look at your face to know that you had a pure heart, but that you also had problems." He shrugged. "Why don't you think I'm a freak?"

"I guess i just knew something was going on...like, you never seemed to ask me anything and you offered me a job. You could always tell what i wanted...i don't think it's freaky. I think it's just you." Kurt told him and Blaine gave him a small grateful smile. "Besides i think it's amazing that you can tell what people feel."

"It's not always a good thing, especially if the other person doesn't think highly of you." Blaine giggled. "But you... there was one day that you started looking at me differently, and behaving differently, and... and I thought maybe I would be that lucky."

Kurt huffed out a small laugh and reached out lightly with his hand, and Blaine took it gently. Kurt bit his lip as he looked up into his eyes.

"Can you tell what i'm feeling right now?"

Blaine watched him for a couple of seconds as he caressed Kurt's knuckles with his thumb.

"I know this is going to sound presumptuous, but I think you're feeling that you want to kiss me."

Kurt gave him a bright smile.

"Okay, this is going to be fun." he responded and then waited for a couple of seconds and then rolled his eyes, "so...are you gonna kiss me or what?"

"If you ask me like that..." Blaine leaned in slowly, teasing Kurt as he nuzzled his nose and then his cheek before finally catching his lips with his.

Kurt chuckled and then pushed forward into it, grabbing Blaine's shirt collar with his other hand to hold him closer and moved their lips together.

Kurt hummed as he pulled away and his face was red as he looked down with a small smile.

"Hey, everything okay?" Blaine placed his finger under Kurt's chin and made him look at him, and after a moment, he start laughing. "Okay, Kurt... I think I'm going to blush too."

Kurt started laughing and then leaned into Blaine's chest, who wrapped an arm around him to keep them from toppling off of the desk.

"I'm sorry...i think it's just nerves." Kurt said as he took in a breath, and then raised his head to look at Blaine's face, "...i don't think i've ever been so nervous after a kiss."

"It's just me, you don't have to be nervous. Now we are closer, but it doesn't change anything... and it changes everything at the same time. Does it make sense?" Blaine asked, kissing the tip of Kurt's nose.

Kurt giggled. "No that doesn't make any sense Blaine."

After a few seconds, Kurt bit his lip again.

"I think i need another kiss."

Blaine didn't keep him waiting this time. He pressed his mouth to Kurt's in a more demanding and passionate kiss. He tilted his head to find the perfect angle and deepened it a little, though he pulled away before involving his tongue.

"Like that one?" He gasped, his lips still blushing Kurt's.

"Yes, more like that one." Kurt said as he moved in for another one, but before he could push for more, his and Blaine's stomachs both growled and they pulled back with a laugh.

"I think I don't need to use my powers to know that you're hungry, and so am I." Blaine smirked. "Should we go to the kitchen?"

Kurt pulled on his hand as Blaine got up and shook his head.

"Let me go and get it and bring it back. I want to eat with you, in here."

"Okay... but hurry up." Blaine asked with a tender expression.

"Okay." Kurt gave him a quick peck on the lips before he left with a smile.

He came back in just a couple of minutes with two plates of chicken and rice in hand, but when he opened the office door, he stood there with his mouth open.

Blaine had cleared the table and now it was only a small lamp on it, which cast a dim light on the small room, and a vase with flowers that Kurt recognized from the living area.

"I wanted to prepare something special, but this is the best I could get." Blaine told him, pointing to the table.

"Oh Blaine..i love it. Thank you." Kurt said in a whispering voice, full of emotion as he approached the table and placed the food down, before turning to Blaine and pulling him into his arms, "i didn't think it was going to turn into a date."

"It's what I feel like right now." Blaine wrapped his arms around Kurt's waist. "I know I'm still your boss, and I hope this isn't weird for you... but I really want us to be together, Kurt. I want this to be the first date of many."

"Trust me, i don't see you as my boss now." Kurt replied with a smirk, and then placed a small kiss against his lips before pulling away, "i guess we'd better do this properly."

Kurt turned to the desk and pulled out the chair for Blaine.

"Thank you." Blaine laughed a little nervously as he sat down on the chair.

Kurt sat across from him, but before he could try to start dinner, Blaine grabbed one of his hands over the table.

"I think this is as good a time as any to tell you that you have the most beautiful eyes I've ever seen."

The blush spread across his nose again as he stared into Blaine's eyes, and then chuckled a little as he squeezed his hand.

"Then you should see your eyes honey. They're amazingly gorgeous."

"I think I'll try your rice before you keep distracting me." Blaine laughed and took the fork with his free hand, shoving a bite into his mouth. "So good."

Kurt laughed as he sat and started eating his own, he and Blaine both kept glancing at each other over their food though and once or twice Kurt would push one of his feet against the side of Blaine's.

After dinner though, they both walked out with their plates, the kitchen was clear then so Blaine made them both tea and Kurt produced a big slice of vanilla cream cake from the fridge and placed it on the kitchen table with two forks, giving Blaine a smile as he brought over the cups of tea.

"You know, i didn't think i would ever like tea so much, but since i've been drinking yours i can't get enough of it. I think i'm done with coffee now." Kurt said as he handed Blaine a fork and pushed the cake between them as they sat down next to each other.

"I'm so happy to have been able to do something for your diet, because I have to tell you something... when you have a day off and I cook, there's always leftover food. If I weren't this crazy about you, I would take it as contempt from guests... but I have to agree with them."

"Aww, that's sweet. Maybe i should give you a masterclass in Hummel cooking?" Kurt said as he brought a piece of cake to his mouth, and humming as he chewed.

"Just in cooking?" Blaine leaned slightly across the table, subtly looking at Kurt's lips.

Kurt turned to smirk at him. "I'm not an empath but i think i know where your mind is."

Blaine laughed before kissing him, just the first of many they shared that night in the kitchen before saying good night and heading to their rooms.

For the next few days, they looked for any free minute to kiss, away from prying eyes. When they had lunch or dinner with the other guests, they just gave each other fond glances and little smiles, but Blaine's new favourite hobby was sneaking into the kitchen while Kurt cooked to ask for some cuddles.

It had been a week since the night they shared their mutual feelings, and Kurt was mixing the ingredients for a lemon cake in a bowl when Blaine quietly stepped into the kitchen, and without warning, hugged him from behind.

"Something smells great... and it's not the food." He whispered, pressing his nose to Kurt's neck.

Kurt hummed as he leaned back into him. And then lifted the spoon as he turned and dotted the tip of Blaine's nose with lemon cake mix with a laugh.

"You should really stop sneaking up on me when i'm cooking because-" Kurt couldn't even finish the sentence because Blaine smashed their mouths together and Kurt wrapped his arms around his neck and hung onto him as he pushed his tongue into his mouth.

It was only a quick kiss but it was a deep and passionate one, and as Blaine pulled back with a grin, Kurt wiped his face where Blaine had rubbed the lemon mix off of his nose on Kurt's cheek.

"You're too adorable for me to tell off." Kurt huffed a little as he turned back around in Blaine's arms to go back to mixing.

"You can't imagine how hard it is to know that you're in here, alone, when you could be kissing me? You're too much of a distraction, baby." Blaine playfully nibbled on Kurt's shoulder over his shirt.

"And you're out here instead of being a good boy and doing your work." Kurt replied sarcastically, still mixing the cake mix and trying to ignore the shivers going down his spine from what Blaine was doing.

They hadn't had sex yet, but Kurt could feel the moment coming, even though it had only been a few days they had so many feelings for each other and were getting so comfortable around each other that it would be the next step.

But the thing was, Blaine actually wanted to do things right, so he told Kurt they were both taking the night off on Saturday, which was in two days, and they were actually going out on a date in the city.

"Are you hinting that I'm a bad boy?" Blaine chuckled before starting to give small kisses to the back of Kurt's neck. "A bad boy... would come here... to kiss you... and tell you that he misses you?" He asked him between brushes of his lips on Kurt's neck.

"...bad in a nice way i guess." Kurt said and then moaned slightly at the light kisses.

"I like that." Blaine answered before pulling away from Kurt.

His own body was reacting to the closeness, and he didn't want to lose too much control while they were both working.

"I can't wait for Saturday." He said, jumping up onto the counter and watching Kurt as he cooked.

"Me either. My real first date. I'm excited." Kurt responded with a blush and a giddy smile as he looked up at Blaine, while he poured the batter into a tin.

"First date?" Blaine asked, raising his eyebrows in surprise. "You don't have to be ashamed of it. That puts a lot of pressure on me, though. I hope I'm up to it."

"Oh i'm not ashamed. I did have failed dates before, where i didn't actually stay past drinking a glass of wine," Kurt said as he wrinkled his nose in disgust at the thought of the guys he used to be set up with before, "my friends were never that good at setting me up."

"I'm sure they did it with the best of intentions. But I'm selfishly glad they didn't succeed with any of them... that gives me a chance." Blaine grinned, reaching to gently stroke Kurt's hair.

Kurt nuzzled into his hand a little. "You sir, have all the chances. As many chances as you want."

As he leaned over to Blaine on the counter, Blaine leaned down to kiss his lips again before they both heard footsteps coming towards the kitchen and sprang apart with a fond glance.

'Saturday', Blaine mouthed, getting off the counter and smiling at the couple of guests who had just entered the kitchen, though he did give Kurt one last look before leaving the kitchen.

Kurt was actually getting nervous. He had spent about half an hour whining on the phone to Carole about not having anything nice to wear on the Saturday afternoon, so Carole told him to go out and calm down and go find something.

So Kurt, had to go and ask Blaine to take the afternoon off to go shopping, which Blaine told him he could definitely do that. But it made Kurt feel a little bad to spring that on him.

But he actually bought himself a nice shirt and some really super skinny black jeans for the date.

And he looked great, he knew. But he was extremely nervous and it was starting to get to him. He thought about calling Carole back so that she could calm his nerves but he knew she would just tell him off for being nervous about a date with Blaine.

Because it was Blaine, not some stranger. It was his Blaine, he was comfortable with Blaine and he really liked Blaine.

He didn't know where the nerves came from but they were there, and getting stronger the longer he waited in his room for Blaine to be ready.

It was already 7:30, and Kurt was messing about with his hair while he waited impatiently in his room.

Luckily, a knock on the door brought him out of his misery. When he opened it, he saw Blaine, who was smiling at him before looking him up and down.

"Wow. Just... wow." Blaine murmured, bringing out the hand he had hidden behind his back, which was holding a bouquet of red roses.

"Oh baby...they're beautiful." Kurt took them and buried his nose in them, "how did you have time to get them?"

"No, you are beautiful." Blaine simply answered. "And... do you know Lucy, the girl who is staying with her mom? She had to go shopping, and I told her that tonight I had a very important date and that if she could do me the favor of going to buy some flowers in the store at the end of the street, they would have free breakfast all week."

"You wonderful wonderful man." Kurt said with a big smile as he leaned in to kiss him, before pulling back and giving Blaine a once over with his eyes, "and wow...those red jeans are tight. Turn around."

Kurt gave him an amused smirk.

"Really?" Blaine chuckled before actually doing it. He had spent a lot ot time choosing his clothes for the date, so he was glad he made a good choice. "You like what you see?"

"God..." Kurt bit his lip as he looked at Blaine's ass in his jeans, "of course i like it. But that's because i like you."

Blaine turned back around with a big smile and Kurt went to put the roses down on the bedside table before walking back to him and wrapping his arms around him.

"I don't know if you can tell...but i'm a little-"

"Nervous?" Blaine finished the sentence for him. He could easily sense it... since they were together, Kurt was even more of an open book to him. "Me too."

"Oh good, then it's not just me. And i don't even know why." Kurt laughed.

"Because we care about what we have and we want this to go well." Blaine explained. "But you know what? It's going to go so well. I just know."

"You do?" Kurt asked with light shining in his eyes, "i just want to say, i really like you Blaine. I've never felt this way about anybody before...i want this to work. I really do."

Blaine smiled and cupped Kurt's face with his hand before kissing him. He slid his lips eagerly over Kurt's for a minute before pulling away a bit.

"I can't stop thinking about you for a single moment. I know it's only been a week, but I'm going to do everything in my power to make you happy, Kurt. I care so much about you."

The nervousness Kurt felt inside only a moment ago melted away at those words and he felt contentment take it's place down to his soul as he laid his forehead against Blaine's and sighed a little.

"Then let's do this Mr Anderson." he said fondly as he opened his eyes again and stared into Blaine's.

"Let's go, baby." Blaine held out a hand that Kurt took instantly, and they both walked out of the room smiling and walked to a small Italian restaurant where Blaine had made a reservation.

Dinner was practically perfect. They shared a pizza and a chocolate ice-cream for dessert without stopping laughing and touching each other across the table. Sometimes they would just stare at each other for a few seconds, until one of them blushed and ended up looking away.

They also talked about everything. Kurt told him the latest news on his dad's treatment and also some stories about his childhood, and Blaine explained to him more about his parents and his previous relationships, although none of them had been remarkable.

Even though Blaine had 7 years on Kurt, he hadn't had that much experience with love and dating, which Kurt was sad about but also a little grateful for.

It kicked off a whole conversation about love and dating and relationships, and they both found they had the same views on a lot of things, but they didn't bring up their own relationship.

So on the walk back, when Kurt took Blaine's hand, he felt the question creeping up his spine.

"Do you think we're just dating, or boyfriends now?"

"Oh." Blaine exclaimed, because the question had caught him off guard. "Well, this is just our first official date, but it's been all wonderful and... I really would like to be your boyfriend. But I don't want to pressure you, I know it's an important step."

"I want to be your boyfriend. Is that term okay with you though? I know you're only a little older than me, but you still use boyfriend or is it partner now?"

Blaine stood in the middle of the street, facing Kurt and looking at him with narrowed eyes.

"I'm not that old, Hummel. And yes, I still use boyfriend... and that's what you are now, my boyfriend." He said with a beaming smile.

Kurt leaned in a little until his face was only an inch from Blaine's and gave him a big smile.

"And i have to say, i have the most beautiful boyfriend in the world."

Blaine had to kiss him. He had to kiss Kurt over and over again, losing himself on Kurt's lips and forgetting that they were in the middle of the street.

Kurt responded just as eagerly, putting his arms around his neck, and then suddenly Blaine pulled away from him.

"Are you sure?" He asked with a gasp.

"You've lost me now, are you feeling something from me?" Kurt asked a little curiously.

"Yes, I am." Blaine admitted, a little flustered. "I wasn't trying to do it, but... baby, you're almost screaming it internally."

"Screaming what?" Kurt asked with a little light in his eyes.

"Screaming that... you want us to spend the night together." Blaine whispered.

He didn't want to make Kurt uncomfortable, but he had to be honest with what he had felt.

Kurt made a face that Blaine couldn't decipher and then he giggled lightly.

"Oh i see...i mean i've thought about it. Over the last 2 days mostly, but i won't force you to spend the night with me. It's for both of us to figure out." Kurt said honestly, and gave Blaine a fond smile, "i like you, and i would love to...but it's not just me that has to decide."

Blaine gave him a soft kiss before wrapping his arms around his back.

"Since you can't know how I feel, let me tell you clearly..." He brought his mouth to Kurt's ear before adding, "I want to spend every night with you."

Kurt's arms came back around his shoulders and held him close, turning his head and pressing his lips to Blaine's cheek.

"I'm certain that it's not a thing to do after a first date, but right now, i don't care." Kurt whispered against his face.

Blaine tilted his head back so he could look at Kurt's face.

"Hey, even if we both want to, we can wait for a while if-"

"Blaine, if you want to, i want to spend the night in your room tonight." Kurt interrupted him with a serious and intent look on his face, but the emotions coming from him were so pure and so wonderful that it made Blaine smile.

"I really, really want to." Blaine answered with bright eyes.

"Then take me home honey." Kurt whispered with a smile and took Blaine's hand.

Blaine brought Kurt's hand to his lips to kiss it before starting to walk back to the B&B.

xoxoxoxoxox

Kurt groaned a little as he woke up, sunlight had managed to sneak through the curtains and hit him right in the face, so he turned to bury his head into the chest underneath him. He cracked his eyes open a little and spied that small tattoo on Blaine's chest that he had found out about last night. He smiled warmly and kissed the image of the tiny black bird before snuggling into the warmth of his boyfriend's naked body.

"Someone is awake." Blaine muttered hoarsely, stroking Kurt's bare back with his hand.

"I don't wanna get up..." Came the muttered reply against his chest and it made Blaine laugh.

"Then don't get up." Blaine placed one of his legs over Kurt's to keep him in place in his arms. "You should call work and say you're sick."

"Hey boss man, i'm sick...i can't work today." Kurt replied sarcastically, placing his hand against his head, "i think i have a fever..."

"Don't worry. You should stay in bed all day..." Blaine said, pressing his lips to Kurt's forehead. "Yes, you are very, very hot..."

"Mmm, you're warm...i'll just stay here." Kurt snuggled against him and moved his head against Blaine's lips when he tried to pull away.

"Okay... if my boyfriend needs me, then I'll have to stay here too and take care of him." Blaine giggled as he hugged him. "God, Kurt, last night... last night was amazing."

Kurt looked up from his warm spot on Blaine's chest and his arm reached up so that he could run his fingers through the hair on the side of Blaine's head, humming contentedly as he smiled.

"It really was...i did not anticipate how much i could feel like that. It was incredible."

"I never thought being an empath would have such a... fun use." Blaine nuzzled Kurt's jawline slowly.

"Me neither honey, you knew exactly what i wanted without me even asking you. And you're so hot you know that?" Kurt grinned as he moved his head back so that Blaine could start pressing kisses to his neck like last night.

"No.. do you know why you are hotter than me? By the way you moan when I kiss you... right here." Blaine sucked lightly on that spot on Kurt's neck he had found out that drove him crazy.

A guttural groan forced its way from Kurt's mouth and he writhed against Blaine's side, holding onto his boyfriend's shoulder tightly with his hands.

Kurt's legs opened and wrapped around Blaine's hips tightly as he clung to him, while Blaine kept kissing and licking that spot, forcing more noises and high pitched whines from Kurt.

"I think waking up with you is my new favorite thing." Blaine whispered, giving one last lick to Kurt's neck before pulling away a bit. "Would you like to have breakfast in bed, baby?"

"I'd like to have you for breakfast." Kurt murmured as his mind cleared a little and he turned to capture Blaine's lips in a forceful kiss, forcing Blaine's mouth open for his tongue.

Moaning and groaning against each other, moving around the bed, gripping each other's arms and legs, hips and chests, Kurt then slid his hands down Blaine's sides, feeling along the ticklish spots on his ribs. He knew exactly what he was doing because as soon as he found that spot, Blaine broke the kiss with a loud laugh.

"Baby, stop!" Blaine said, laughing non-stop and squirming under Kurt. "This is not breakfast!"

"But it's the next best thing." Kurt replied with a grin as he tickled him a little more, loving the laughter from Blaine, the best sound he had ever heard.

He stopped eventually to let Blaine lay and catch his breath and just stared at him with sparkling eyes and a wide smile.

"Sorry but that laugh is my favourite sound in the world."

Blaine immediately turned his head to look at him, and Kurt sighed at the amount of emotions he saw in his honey eyes.

"It's probably because no one has ever made me laugh like you. You're funny in an adorable way."

"And you're cute...in a completely sexy way." Kurt replied as he leaned down to kiss Blaine again, humming against his lips like he couldn't get enough of him.

He knew from last night and over the last week that Blaine could feel whatever Kurt felt, and he loved that. Blaine didn't have to be told what Kurt was feeling, he just knew...all the time.

He knew when Kurt was sad, when he was happy, when he felt unending love for him. He didn't have to say it, it was a bit too soon into their relationship, but he could let himself feel it.

Blaine buried one of his hands in Kurt's hair, stroking the strands between his fingers as he turned them until he was laying on top of Kurt, breaking the kiss to bring his lips back to Kurt's neck.

"I never want to stop doing this." He said as he moved his tongue to Kurt's collarbone, where he had made a small mark the night before.

One of Kurt's hands ran down to the small of Blaine's back and one hand buried in the hair on the back of Blaine's head, pushing him against him.

"Then don't ever stop, because i won't ask you to."

Blaine smirked as his mouth travelled over Kurt's chest, stopping to suck on his nipples before gently nibbling on Kurt's stomach muscles.

"I know what you want, gorgeous..." He groaned.

"Don't you always?" Kurt asked around a moan, pushing his hips up against Blaine's chest as he sank lower down, covering Kurt's hips bones and inner thighs with kisses and tiny bites.

"That's true... and I don't want to make you wait any longer." Blaine told him, licking his lips.

He gave Kurt one last loving smile before wrapping his fingers around his erection and shoving it into his mouth.

"Oh god..." Kurt said loudly and grabbed the sheets on Blaine's bed in one hand as his other held onto Blaine's hair, not too tightly but just enough for Blaine to feel his nails against his scalp, "...oh my- your mouth Blaine..."

Blaine hummed against Kurt at the pleasure his fingers in his hair were giving him. Then he focused on Kurt, listening to what his body was asking for, and he quickly set a steady pace, bobbing his head as circling Kurt's cock with his tongue, just as Kurt wanted.

"Oh my ...oh god...i don't think i'm gonna last Blaine." Kurt writhed with his hips and moaned loudly as Blaine's mouth sank down a little more until his nose was pressed into the little patch of neatly trimmed hair at the base, Kurt could feel himself slipping into the opening of Blaine's throat and screeched a little as he tightened his hold in Blaine's hair.

Without even touching himself, Blaine was close too. Everything he felt from Kurt was so strong, so real, that it was enough to turn him on like never before. He had never thought that pleasing someone could be so incredibly stimulating.

And it also helped that Kurt was so incredibly sexy.

Blaine increased his speed a bit as he looked at Kurt through his lashes.

"Ah ah ah!" Kurt's yells were coming louder and louder, the closer he got to his orgasm and Blaine could feel the moment when it was just about to explode out of him, because he was right there too on the edge.

"Blaine....Blaine!" with one last scream into the room Kurt came into Blaine's mouth, and Blaine groaned around him as Kurt's come flooded his mouth and his own cock came untouched beneath him.

Blaine's growl came out through his nose as he swallowed the last drops of Kurt's orgasm. When he was done, he pulled Kurt's cock out of his mouth before crawling up and kissing Kurt, because it was what they both needed.

Kurt's arms wrapped around him tightly while they kissed, Blaine had known since last night that Kurt got a little shaky with slight anxiety after an orgasm, and the only way to stop that was to kiss him.

He could feel the moment when Kurt's nerves started to take him, so the kisses and cuddles had to happen straight away, and for those few minutes while they both calmed down, pure happiness and joy radiated from Kurt.

When he knew that Kurt was totally relaxed under him, Blaine gave him several small kisses on the lips, making him smile, and then tucked his face into his neck.

"Good thing you called work... you had a really bad fever." He giggled against his skin.

"Luckily my boss knew the cure was to stay in bed huh?" Kurt replied as he stroked Blaine's back with both hands, "did you come when i did again?"

"Yeah..." Blaine admitted, pulling back a bit to look at him. "I don't know if I can explain it, but... it's as if I felt your pleasure and mine at the same time, and that would send me to the edge. I have never connected so intensely with anyone. Do you think it's weird?"

"No honey, it's not weird. I actually love it." Kurt said with a small smile, moving his hands up to stroke through Blaine's hair in a comforting way, until Blaine's face relaxed into the same smile.

Blaine seemed to want to say something after that, but he changed his mind. He simply rubbed his cheek against Kurt's chest.

"I know we haven't gotten out of bed yet, but what would you think about me asking you to sleep with me tonight as well?" He asked with hopeful eyes.

Kurt giggled lightly. "If you think i'm going to go to my own room after this, you really don't know me at all mister."

"Oh, so you plan to always sleep here and use me as a sex slave? Kurt, I'm shocked!" Blaine exclaimed in mock disappointment.

"Sex slave? Like you would mind that." Kurt said as he rolled Blaine off of him and then rolled over so that he was sitting on top of Blaine's stomach and staring down at him, "...mmm, maybe we should try this position next time."

Blaine placed his hands on Kurt's firm thighs.

"Oh, I can't wait... you have no idea what view I have from down here. Since I saw the pants you were wearing last night, I couldn't help but imagine what was underneath them, but reality is even better."

Kurt wiggled his eyebrows as he bit his bottom lip, and Blaine's hands travelled from his thighs slowly up to grasp at Kurt's hips.

"Oh trust me honey, your ass in those jeans last night was sinful...but out of them it's like heaven." Kurt told him with a smirk, before rolling his hips against Blaine's hands, not actually grinding on him, "should we get up now?"

"Nope." Blaine pouted at him. "Who needs to work and make money?"

"I'm afraid we do honey." Kurt said with a pout, pretending to be sad, "i want to stay in bed all morning but i'm afraid we'll get bad reviews if the guests aren't fed breakfast on time."

"Fine." Blaine sighed.

Kurt got off the bed and held out a hand for him to get up too. As Kurt dressed in his last night's clothes so he could go back to his room, Blaine just picked his up off the floor and put on only his boxer shorts before pulling clean clothes out of the closet to wear after the shower he needed to take.

When Kurt was fully dressed, he walked him to the door and kissed him. It wasn't a long kiss, because Blaine knew that if he kissed him the way he wanted, neither of them would work that morning.

"Thank you... for everything." He murmured against Kurt's lips.

"Oh sweetheart, you never need to thank me." Kurt replied before pecking his lips one last time and opening the door, winking as he disappeared down the hall.

Saying that the next couple of weeks Kurt and Blaine were even more on top of each other was an understatement. It was as if after their first night together, they just couldn't keep their hands off each other.

They had had sex almost every night, always sleeping together afterwards in one of their rooms. They even had sex once in Blaine's office, when Kurt went there to see him and they just needed to look into each other's eyes before they started ripping their clothes off.

But it wasn't all sex. Their level of intimacy and closeness was so high. They could spend hours without talking, just cuddling, but there were also times when they didn't stop telling each other all kinds of things.

It was intense and exciting, and they were both happier than ever.

And the fact that Burt kept getting better also helped.

One day after lunch, Blaine was cleaning the living area when Kurt got there, and Blaine saw him leaning against the doorframe.

"Hi handsome." He greeted him. "Did you finish in the kitchen?"

"Yeah just put everything away, and i hope you like coffee cake because there is one in the oven right now." Kurt said as he smiled at him, and Blaine knew what that smile signified.

"I love coffee cake. But in the last few days, I think you only make cakes because of the kisses I give you afterwards, and that has to stop." Blaine bit his lip to contain a smile. "Thanks for making it, but no kissing. I have to clean up here."

"Oh ok."

Blaine could feel the disappointment coming off of Kurt in waves and he sighed.

"Okay, I can't do this. Come here." He set the cloth he was holding on one of the chairs and spread his arms in Kurt's direction. "But only a tiny, little one."

Disappointment was replaced with waves of joy as Kurt walked quickly towards him and covered his lips with his own.

As soon as he did though, there was a little 'awww' behind them and they both jumped and turned to see Helen, the lady who was staying for a few weeks in New York for work, standing behind them and cupping her cheeks with a grin.

"Aren't you two so cute."

"Helen, hi." Blaine told her, pulling away from Kurt a bit but keeping a hand on his waist, as he could feel his boyfriend's discomfort. "Sorry, we were... uhm... why don't you look surprised?"

"Oh everyone here has been trying to figure out if you two were together or not." Helen said with a wave of her hand and a tiny giggle, "it's pretty obvious that you liked each other."

Kurt made an 'oh' face and turned to Blaine with surprise.

"We didn't know that," he said lightly, clearing his throat, "did you say everyone was talking about us?"

"Oh it's nothing bad sweetie, you just look so happy lately."

"Oh god..." Blaine rested his forehead on Kurt's shoulder for a second before laughing. "Is that why Maggie and Rose were whispering in the kitchen the other day when we walked in?"

"Yes, darling. Rose has some kind of crush on Kurt, and we've been trying to convince her for days that she didn't have a chance." She chuckled.

"Oh poor woman." Kurt shook his head with a smile, and blushed as Blaine pulled him into his side a little, "so nobody has any problems with it?"

Helen looked a little shocked.

"Oh no, James actually pointed it out the other day, he kind of knew too." She said with a smile, "any way i need to pop out for a while, i'll be back later. Bye."

They waved her goodbye, and as soon as they were alone, Blaine turned to Kurt in amusement.

"Rose, huh? I hope you don't flirt with her behind my back." He raised an eyebrow.

"I don't think i have." Kurt mused thoughtfully with a smirk on his face, "do i come off as flirty to you?"

"Well, you are charming, and beautiful, and you smell so good, and you sing like an angel... what did you ask me?" Blaine joked. "Oh yeah... I don't know if you're flirty, but I have some kind of crush on you too."

"Well, the only flirting i do is with you..." Kurt said as he leaned his forehead against his boyfriend's an then pinched his ass with his hand, "i need to get back to the coffee cake."

He turned to leave and Blaine grabbed his wrist.

"Wait. If everyone knows, and they seem to be okay about it... maybe I can give you another kiss before you go." Blaine suggested as his eyes fell on Kurt's mouth.

Kurt grinned at him, and then put two fingers over Blaine's lips.

"Oh so you want to kiss me now that everyone is okay with it?" He said sarcastically, and turned his face away from Blaine, but he knew as soon as he turned back, the puppy eyes were out and he laughed, "you play dirty Mr Anderson."

Kurt leaned in and placed a lingering kiss against Blaine's lips.

"Now you can go watch my cake." After the kiss, Blaine placed his hands on Kurt's hips, making him walk backward. "Kitchen, before I take you to my office. Go, go."

"Ok, i'm going, i'm going." Kurt said as he held up his hands and moved back to the doorway, before stepping out he turned around and Blaine could feel so many things from him, that it made him gasp out loud, "...maybe we can go to the office later?"

Kurt winked and disappeared with a little laugh and Blaine shook his head. Kurt knew how to use his thoughts and feelings to get to him now.

A WEEK LATER...

Blaine snorted again at the pile of papers piled on his desk. He knew it was his fault... not that he was neglecting work, he was too responsible for that. But it was true that he didn't spend as much time in his office as before, because when he wasn't at the reception, he preferred to be in the kitchen or wherever Kurt was.

Things kept going very well between them. Blaine knew that he was in love with Kurt, and he could sense that Kurt was too, but neither of them had spoken the words out loud yet. Although it was hard for Blaine to contain himself when Kurt looked at him with those blue eyes full of affection.

And probably the fact that he was in love made the empathic connection between them even stronger. Kurt had started to use it to his advantage, and he managed to get Blaine to come looking for him even when they weren't together, because now they didn't even have to be in the same room for Blaine to feel him.

Those moments where Kurt would get playful while they were both working drove Blaine crazy, in the best way possible.

He couldn't believe that because of fate, of a horrible turn in Kurt's life, they two had met, but Blaine was very thankful, because Kurt had changed him forever.

Just as he started going through the vendor lists again, Blaine sensed something. It was such a strong sensation that he leaned back in his chair, clutching his chest. It was as if he suddenly wanted to cry... with joy? With sadness? He wasn't sure, but it was very intense.

And then he knew. It could only be Kurt. Something was happening to him.

Blaine left the office so quickly that he didn't open the door wide enough, smacking himself on the forehead. He grunted in pain, but he didn't stop to see if he had hurt himself or not. He ran into the kitchen, and he found Kurt there alone, with the phone in his hand, as silent tears streamed down his face.

"Kurt? Baby, what's wrong?" Blaine asked, approaching him and holding him by the shoulders, trying to read the expression on his face, but Kurt's emotions were so high that it was impossible.

Kurt was trying to get himself under control and as he looked up at Blaine's face, there was a stream of blood running down his forehead and cheek and Kurt's eyes widened.

Blaine got confused for a moment, as Kurt's feelings inside literally left him and was replaced with worry.

"Blaine, what did you do?!" He said as he turned to grab a bit of tissue and wet it under the tap at the sink lightly and then placing it on the cut on Blaine's forehead, "...honey there's blood everywhere."

"What?" Blaine asked without understanding until he remembered the blow. "Oh, it's nothing. I felt something was happening to you and rushed out of the office, and I accidentally hit myself against the door."

He placed one of his hands on Kurt's on his forehead and the other cupped his boyfriend's cheek.

"But don't worry about that. Tell me what's wrong. Is it your dad?"

Kurt's worried face melted into one of pure happiness as tears filled his eyes again.

"The cancer is gone." he told him with a huge smile, and Blaine could feel the waves of emotion again as his boyfriend bounced on his feet, "it's gone Blaine."

"Oh my goodness." Blaine quickly hugged Kurt as his own eyes filled with tears. "I knew he would make it, I knew it! I'm so happy for you and your family!"

"I can't believe it! It's only been 4 months and it's over." Kurt said as he wrapped his other arm around Blaine's shoulders as his boyfriend squeezed him, but then he remembered Blaine's head and pulled back, "...gosh come on, sit down let me sort out that cut."

"Baby, I'm fine, really." Blaine protested with a grin on his face, so excited by the news that he couldn't care less about the headache he would probably have later.

However, he let Kurt sit him in a chair, but when his boyfriend leaned down to clean the wound properly, Blaine put a hand on the back of his neck and kissed him with all his might.

Kurt hummed against his mouth and opened his lips to let Blaine in when he moved his tongue across them. Blaine grabbed his waist and pulled him to sit on his lap too, and Kurt protested for a second before relaxing on top of Blaine's lap and kissing him back with more passion.

When Kurt pulled away, the cut was still bleeding so he kissed Blaine's nose and held the tissue onto it a little tighter.

"You need to look after yourself more, i like your face." He whispered lightly, teasing him as he sat on his lap.

Blaine could still feel that overwhelming feeling coming from him, that now he knew what had happened he knew it was a good feeling. And he basked in it for a while as Kurt concentrated on his forehead.

"I'm so ecstatic, Kurt... I know I barely know your father, but I know he's a great man, strong and a fighter, and... and you, baby! You're finally going to be able to get your life back." Blaine told him with bright eyes.

Kurt smiled down at him but Blaine saw and felt that flicker of anxiety go through his eyes and his mind, and he gripped Kurt's waist a little tighter, stroking over his sides with his thumbs.

"Yeah...i guess i can." Kurt replied after a second, and tried to smile more but he knew that Blaine knew what he was feeling so he sighed.

Pulling the little bit of tissue away so that he could see if the bleeding had stopped first, which it had, he discarded the bloodied tissue and then slumped over to hug Blaine, burying his face in his neck.

"...I don't know what to feel...i'm happy but i feel a little-" he sighed again, "i don't know."

"You feel worried." Blaine answered for him, gently kissing his hair. "But listen to me, Kurt Hummel... don't think for a moment that you're going to get rid of me just because you leave the B&B."

"It's not that." Kurt murmured as he pulled back, tears coming to his eyes, "i just really love being here...and i-" he stopped himself, biting his lip.

Blaine could feel the words that Kurt was about to say, and he smiled sweetly.

"I love you too." Blaine blurted out. "I know we've only been together for a few weeks, but I love you more than I've ever loved anyone. I think the fact that I practically opened the door of my office with my head because I thought something might be happening to you speaks for itself."

Kurt giggled at that.

"Yeah well, you have a hard head, i think you'll be fine." Kurt said as he ran a hand over Blaine's forehead gently, avoiding the cut, and looking into his eyes, "...i love you, i love you so much. I know i have to leave but i don't want to."

"And I don't want you to leave either. I don't think I can walk into this kitchen without missing hearing you hum and immediately wrapping my arms around your waist." Blaine sighed, and he pulled Kurt closer to him. "But you have to go back to your apartment, with Rachel. You have to go back to school, or work in fashion, or whatever makes you happy. Because I need you to be happy, Kurt."

"I am happy. Can't you feel it?"

"Of course I feel it. But the B&B is not your future... you were born to be a star." Blaine told him, stroking his face devotedly. "And I want to be there, watching you shine."

Blaine knew that Kurt was happy inside, but he also knew that he was sad. And as Kurt placed his head down on Blaine's shoulder, his face covered by his shirt, he knew that Kurt was crying.

And he just couldn't bear for Kurt to cry. It was like feeling that someone took his heart and broke it into a thousand pieces. Unable to help it, Blaine started crying as well.

"Hey, what do you think of this? I will hire someone to help me with the B&B, not only with the kitchen, but with everything. So I will have more free time, and I can spend it with you..." He murmured while sniffing.

Kurt pulled back and even though the tears were still falling silently down his cheeks, forcing Blaine to wipe them away, Kurt nodded.

"That would be really nice, but only if you want to do that." He said as he sniffled and then moved to get off of Blaine's lap, but Blaine held onto him and Kurt shook his head, "let me get some tissue, otherwise i'll get snot all over your shirt."

"No. Do what you want with my shirt, but don't go now." Blaine asked him, because he could feel that Kurt wanted him close, and he felt the same. "And of course I'm going to do whatever it takes to keep seeing your perfect face. Didn't you hear me tell you that I love you?"

Kurt let a small sob escape and he wiped his nose with his own shirt sleeve before smiling sadly at Blaine.

"I heard you."

"Well, I don't know about you, but I don't fall in love like this very often." Blaine leaned in to peck his lips. "In fact, I'm pretty sure I've never fallen in love this way. So I will spend a few nights at your apartment, and you can come here when I have to work. The important thing is that your dad is fine, that you can get your amazing life back, but with a little difference... now you have me by your side, no matter what."

Kurt nodded with a smile and Blaine placed small kisses all over his wet face, pressing one last one to the side of his jaw before wiping Kurt's face with his own sleeve.

Kurt chuckled as he pulled back a little though.

"Sounds like you have it all figured out. It sounds like a great plan...i want to spend all the time in the world with you, and i want you to meet my friends and my family. I want this, all of this. I'm never gonna give it up." Kurt placed his forehead on Blaine's gently, pressing to one side to keep away from the cut and pressed the tips of their noses together as he closed his eyes. "Can i ask you for something though?"

"Anything, baby." Blaine closed his eyes as well, enjoying that little moment of intimacy.

"Can you ask Edward to come in for the next week, to take over for you. I want to spend the last week here with you before i have to go. I want to move into your room and sleep with you every night. Could you do that? Please?" Kurt asked hopefully.

"Sure. I'll call him first thing this afternoon. I want to spend every second with you too." Blaine cupped Kurt's face in his hands, roaming his eyes over every inch of it. "Actually, my office paperwork can wait. Let's go to my room now. There are two more hours until lunch."

Kurt nodded and got off of Blaine's lap quickly, pulling him up by the hand and literally dragging him out of the kitchen.

As soon as they got to Blaine's room though, Blaine knew Kurt just needed comfort so he opened his arms and Kurt threw himself into them.

"We're going to be fine. Say it." Blaine asked, nuzzling Kurt's neck.

"We're going to be fine." Kurt mumbled back from where his face was buried against the skin of Blaine's neck and Blaine stroked over Kurt's hair with one hand while guiding him across the room backwards and to the bed.

"I love you and you love me. Say it." Blaine asked now, lying on the side of the bed and gently pulling Kurt's hand to make him lie down with him.

"I love you and you love me." Kurt repeated with a small warm looking smile as he lay and let Blaine pull him back into his arms.

Blaine knew that Kurt needed that reassurance, and Kurt's smile indicated that he was on the right track.

When Kurt placed his head on his chest, Blaine began to stroke his back with his hands.

"You're going to introduce me to Rachel so she won't freak out if she finds me naked one night in the hallway of your apartment." He said in a lighter tone.

"In the hallway?" Kurt repeated and then laughed loudly as one of his hands traced around the tattoo on Blaine's chest, which was hidden by his shirt right now, "i don't want anybody else to see you naked. Only me."

"Okay, I'll put some boxers on if I have to go to the bathroom." Blaine smiled, pleased to notice Kurt a bit more relaxed. "You like the tattoo, right?"

"I love the tattoo." Kurt said as he moved his hand up to pop the top 3 buttons of Blaine's shirt, and then opened it so that he could trace it without the shirt in the way, "you said you got it with a bunch of your friends in college. For your singing group?"

"Yeah. It was a promise we made one night when we were a little drunk, but I don't regret it." Blaine replied, sighing at the touch of Kurt's finger on his chest. "I would like to have another one, in a while."

"Yeah? What would you get next time?" Kurt asked without looking away from the tattoo underneath his finger.

"I don't know if I should tell you... maybe you'll run out of my bed if I do, and I'm very comfortable right now." Blaine said as he wrapped his arms around him a bit tighter.

"Oh come on, i'm not going to run anywhere Blaine. There is no place i would rather be than with you." Kurt said as he lifted his head and looked up into Blaine's eyes seriously, "tell me."

"Well, I got a bird tattoo because the Warblers were a very important part of my life. And now, you are the most precious thing I have... so in a few months, for our first anniversary, maybe, I would like you to draw a star for me and tattoo it on my wrist."

Kurt opened his mouth to reply, but Blaine was quicker.

"If you think it's creepy, I won't. But I can't help but think about the future, our future, and... you're my star, Kurt."

Kurt shook his head lightly and then gave Blaine a look he couldn't decipher, although the emotional waves coming from him were happy and proud, so Blaine wasn't worried about Kurt's answer, but the next words shocked him.

"Only if i can get a matching one."

Blaine's smile almost split his face in two. He leaned in until his lips touched Kurt's, and they kissed for a couple of minutes, slowly but deeply.

When his mouths disconnected, Blaine looked at him with as much love as he felt from Kurt.

"Deal. Now repeat again, with more conviction than before, please: we're going to be fine."

"We are going to be fine." Kurt said seriously and slowly, feeling it all the way deep into his soul and placed his lips to the tattoo on Blaine's chest, "i know we are."

"Thank you." Blaine brought a hand to Kurt's hair and ran his fingers through it, causing Kurt to relax even more. "Can we stay like this until lunch time? Sex with you is magical, but I love it when we snuggle."

"Of course." Kurt sighed lightly and kissed the skin of the tattoo before pulling Blaine's shirt closed and snuggling his face against his chest, "i love it too. You're cuddly."

"Cuddly? I'm your boyfriend, not a teddy bear." Blaine laughed, entwining his leg with Kurt's to get him even closer.

"As cuddly as a teddy bear." Kurt responded with a little laugh, moving himself as close as humanly possible to Blaine's side, almost moulding them together. "You know it's my favourite thing to do anyway."

Blaine took a deep breath, letting Kurt's scent wash over him. Kurt wasn't the only one who was uneasy about having to change the routine that had worked so well for them, but their little talk and the cuddles had made him fear less of the future.

No matter what came next, they loved each other, and were going to make it work.

xoxoxoxoxox

"Ah fuck...ah! Oh my god!"

"Oh Kurt....oh you drive me insane."

"Ah Blaine!"

Since Kurt and Blaine had made the deal about Kurt staying for a week before he left, after the first afternoon of laying in Blaine's bed and cuddling, Blaine had called Edward to come and work for a week so that he could spend time with his boyfriend.

Edward had agreed, so Blaine and Kurt spent most of their time alone together. They would either bring food to Blaine's room to eat together, or just lay around in bed watching movies and talking, Kurt had moved his clothes into Blaine's room and officially signed out of his own room.

They made plans to meet up every Monday, Wednesday and Saturdays regardless of work or other commitments, and they both promised to stick by it. Although they were going to miss spending every waking minute of the day together, they knew if their relationship were to grow and survive they would have to ease back on it and work on their own lives away from each other.

Blaine made a point of promising that whenever Kurt needed him though, if he wanted to see him or if he was feeling down, even if it wasn't on the days they set in their plans, he would be there. HE would be there for Kurt whenever he needed him.

He didn't ask Kurt to make the same promise, Blaine knew as soon as Kurt went back to college and started another job that he would be consumed in it, so he only promised to move himself.

Which then started off the whole relationship goals talk. They made plans to celebrate the 3, 6, 9 and 12 months for the first year. And after that, every yearly anniversary. They had made plans to meet Blaine's parents and then Kurt's, since Blaine's lived in New York it would be easier to see them first.

Carole had made sure that Kurt knew to invite Blaine to spend christmas with them, so Blaine made it a point to invite Kurt to spend new year with him and his family and friends.

All in all, they talk about everything and anything that could happen.

And also...just like right now, on the 6th day of the week, they had been having an awful lot of sex.

Kurt's favourite position had also been used quite a lot this past week, and that was bottoming from the top. Which Blaine loved, he loved Kurt's body stretched above him, he loved to watch Kurt's nipples stiffen in pleasure when he was getting closer to the edge, he loved the tightness of Kurt's body around him as he grinded his hips over him.

He just loved Kurt, that was it. But Kurt's body was also amazing. He was nimble and flexible, he could bend backwards until he was almost in half sometimes, and Blaine found that he loved watching those muscles stretch underneath his gloriously pale skin.

As Kurt grinded down particularly hard, Blaine's fingers flexed on his hip bones, in a bruising grip that had Kurt slowing down to look at him with darkened eyes and a flushed face.

"Something wrong?" he asked breathlessly as he sat there panting, and Blaine shook his head.

"No, everything is right....so so right." He replied and watched Kurt grin in a sultry way before slamming his hips up and down on Blaine's thighs.

Blaine could feel that mounting pleasure coursing through him, and combined with feeling Kurt's he knew he wasn't going to last long. He thought Kurt could sense it too, his boyfriend had gotten to know his body pretty well over the last 5 days.

"Kurt...i can't-"

"It's ok...come inside me....please come inside me Blaine." Kurt interrupted each word exenterated with a high whine from his throat, and Blaine closed his eyes tightly as he reached his edge.

"Oh god...oh Kurt!" He screamed and shook violently as he let go and came inside Kurt, all the while Kurt was still rising and slamming his hips down, chasing his own pleasure.

After a few seconds, Blaine had just enough sense in him to close a hand around Kurt's dick, which was leaking so much pre-come that he was slicking up his thighs and stomach, and Kurt screeched out as he slammed his hips down one last time and came all over Blaine's abdomen and hand.

"Baby, you're amazing." Blaine said with awe as Kurt's flushed face and bright eyes turned down to look at him.

He leaned down and placed his hands beside Blaine's head and kissed him. A lazy and sloppy kiss, but a great one. All of their kisses were great.

Once they were dressed in their lounge pants, Kurt putting on a vest too but Blaine remained shirtless, they stripped the bed covers and changed them before flopping down lazily on top. Kurt's head resting on Blaine's stomach as Blaine lazily stroked his still sweat damp hair.

"Do you think sex will change between us? I've heard as people go through relationships, it changes." Kurt said with his eyes closed.

"Well, I want to think that we are different from those people." Blaine responded with a half smile. "I can't imagine wanting you less than I do now, or not needing to touch you all the time... besides, no one can feel their significant other's pleasure the way I feel yours."

"That's true. I couldn't even imagine a time where i won't want you. It doesn't seem possible i always want you." Kurt said and smiled when Blaine's fingers ran across his forehead.

"My little insatiable." Blaine laughed, running his fingertips over Kurt's closed lids. "When you're on top of me... god, baby, you can't imagine how much you turn me on."

"Mm, i love seeing you lose your mind, it's like heaven." Kurt said and then turned so that his cheek was resting against Blaine's stomach and he was looking up at him, "there's one thing i always wanted to know though."

"What thing?" Blaine asked, looking at him carefully.

"When you're inside me, does it feel like i'm inside you too? Or is it different than that?"

"Wow... the truth is that the sensations are so intense at that moment that it's difficult to separate them." Blaine tried to explain. "But somehow, it does. I feel what it's like to be inside you, and at the same time I know how you feel while I do it, and that reflects in my own body. It's overwhelming."

"That sounds like a lot. Does it ever get overwhelming in a bad way?" Kurt asked again as he moved up and rested his face on his arms over Blaine's chest.

"Not at all." Blaine responded quickly with a smile. "The only problem is that I don't get tired of you, that the moment I stop feeling you, I want to feel you again."

Kurt only smiled widely at that, and gave Blaine those eyes that he always did. The affection came through the connection, along with happiness that was so strong Blaine thought he might tear up, but he just cupped Kurt's face with one hand and ran his thumb along his bottom lip.

"I love you so much. I want you so much. And I'm here, naked with you, and I can feel that you feel the same and i'm thinking I'm so lucky." Blaine said all lovingly before his gaze darkened a bit. "That, and about how your body tenses when you ride me."

Kurt hummed and winked at him, flexing his fingers over Blaine's skin.

"That's why i like it."

"Oh, I know you like it." Blaine grinned widely. "And I can feel you want another round... you're going to kill me."

"Well, i'm leaving tomorrow so..." Kurt said as he ran his hand down Blaine's stomach and stopped to run his fingers over his abdomen just at the top of his lounge pants, which Blaine was already beginning to tent, but Blaine paused when he could feel sadness through the connection.

"Wait." He quickly reached for Kurt's hand, gently stroking his wrist. "Stop talking like you're sick or going to war. Baby, you're only going to be a few streets away, and we have a plan. I don't want to feel like this situation causes you any pain."

Kurt sat up and turned away a little, but kept his hand on Blaine's skin.

"I know we have a plan...and i'm glad we do. But i'm still sad about leaving, it's not going to go away."

Blaine sat up as well and placed his hand on Kurt's cheek, forcing him to look at him.

"I'm sad too. I'll cry tomorrow, just letting you know." He told him with watery eyes. "But don't turn away from me to try and make it easier. I want to make the most of every minute with you."

"I know, i do too. I'm not turning away from you i just needed a moment." Kurt smiled as him and nuzzled his face into Blaine's hand, moving it slightly over his lips to kiss his palm. "i just really really love you."

Blaine could tell that what Kurt was saying made him happy inside, and he could also feel that same sadness underneath. He knew that even giving as many reassurances to each other as they could, that feeling wasn't going to disappear.

"And I really, really love you too." Blaine leaned in to kiss Kurt's temple. "Let's try our best, okay? And remember what I told you... you just have to call me and I'll be with you, Kurt. Anytime, anywhere. Nothing will get in my way if it comes to getting to you."

"You're amazing Blaine, do you know that?" Kurt told him with a small smile, before leaning to kiss him, pushing him back down onto the bed and laying on him.

"Of course I know. How would you have fallen in love with me otherwise?" Blaine smiled against Kurt's lips, wrapping his arms around his back before whispering, "now make love to me, please."

Kurt nodded before kissing Blaine again, more intensely this time. They spent a few minutes kissing and caressing every inch of their bodies until Kurt got rid of both of their pants, and easily stretched Blaine before pushing inside him.

There was no rush or strong thrusts. It was something soft, something intimate, and Blaine had to force himself to hold back the tears at the intensity of the feelings that emanated from Kurt plus his own.

They came at the same time, hugging each other as if they wanted to merge into one. They didn't worry about having to clean themselves and change the sheets again... the only important thing was them, and their mutual need to love each other and comfort that sadness that seemed to have settled under their skin before Kurt's imminent move.

Next day was going to be so difficult.

They decided to spend the last day that Kurt would be staying there, outside. Blaine treated Kurt to breakfast at a local cafe, and then they got on a bus to head to a nearby market, buying each other small gifts when the other wasn't looking and laughing together as they presented them.

Kurt treated Blaine to lunch at a bistro, where they had the best and messiest meatball subs in New York. They both had sauce all over their hands afterwards and tried to clean each other off with tissues and wet wipes as much as they could.

They got on another bus and headed to Central Park to spend the day walking around and talking together, it was peaceful but fun. They tried to keep the atmosphere light and happy, but there was still sadness settling into Kurt that Blaine could feel and in the end he tried to distract him by pushing him against a tree and kissing him like his like depended on it.

At around 5pm, when it was getting cold and dark, they decided they should head back to the Bed and Breakfast to pack up Kurt's things.

When they got there and start packing everything, there was a strange silence in the room. Blaine could barely take his eyes off Kurt, whose face was utterly heart-breaking, and Blaine just wanted to put his arms around him and make that pain go away.

But he was also afraid of collapsing if he opened his mouth.

"Blaine?" a small whisper from Kurt, who was standing right in front of him, snapped him out of his head space and he looked up at his boyfriend with wide eyes, "are you alright honey?"

"No, I'm not." Blaine replied, because he never lied to Kurt. "I've been fine while we were out, but now back here… I don't know, it's like I'm having a hard time breathing, and I feel horrible because I should be making this easier for you."

"Hey hey, come here." Kurt wound his arms around Blaine's chest and pulled him into a tight hug, Blaine's arms clinging to him tightly, "you've done so much comforting to me...i think i've been neglecting your feelings. I'm sorry."

"No, don't say that. No one has cared for me as much as you." Blaine muttered against Kurt's shoulder. "It's just that you've lit up this place, Kurt, and nothing is going to be the same without you here."

"Don't make me cry," Kurt said in a tight voice, "i'm trying desperately to hold it together."

Kurt hugged Blaine tighter for a moment before pulling away and taking his boyfriend's face between his hands, kissing his lips lightly over and over.

"Can i ask something of you?"

"Anything." Blaine whispered, smiling a bit because of Kurt's sweet kisses.

"I know you said you were going to hire someone to help you out here, but.." Kurt paused a little to take a breath, fighting tears, "...i was happy while i was working for you."

Despite Kurt's best efforts, his voice broke and the tears started falling.

"If i get an afternoon off, or a day off, could i come back here and cook for you? For everyone? I just really wanna do that." Kurt added a small smile at the end of his sentence, even as the tears kept falling.

Blaine burst into tears, lowering his head for a second before looking back at Kurt, ignoring his own tears but wiping Kurt's with his thumbs before filling his cheeks with kisses.

"This kitchen will always be yours, just like my heart." He sobbed. "You can always come back."

"Oh Blaine..." Kurt hugged him again, holding his sobbing boyfriend for a good 20 minutes, rocking their bodies together side to side, silently trying to comfort him but how could he, when he felt like his own insides were being ripped apart.

And he knew Blaine could feel that too.

He steeled himself and pulled back, grabbing Blaine's face and planted a harder kiss against his lips, forcing Blaine's mouth open, even while he was still crying and kissing him with as much love and passion that he could put in it.

Eventually while they were kissing each other desperately, Blaine's sobs got lighter and Kurt started to calm down himself so he pulled away with one last swipe of his tongue and pecked kisses over the rest of Blaine's face.

"You gonna be okay?" he whispered against his cheek.

"Yes." Blaine replied, leaning his face into Kurt's lips. "Today is Saturday, I'm going to see you in two days. But I'm sorry, I didn't want to get like that. Thank you for calming me down, though."

"You're very welcome, it calmed me down too." Kurt gave him a little smile, before looking back at his suitcases, "would you walk me out?"

"Sure. I'll take the big suitcase for you... it was the same one that I helped you up with, when you got here." Blaine said, kissing the tip of Kurt's nose before reaching for the suitcase.

"Yeah i know." Kurt replied lightly as he took the other suitcase as Blaine grabbed the big one, and then followed Blaine out of the room, taking one last longing look at the bed before closing the door.

Once they got to the bottom of the stairs, Blaine turned to smile back at him and Kurt fought against the sadness that was trying to break through again, and smiled back brightly.

He knew Blaine knew that he was putting it on, but he was hopeful that eventually they would be able to say goodbye and smile honestly at each other.

Once they were at the door, Blaine handed the suitcase to Kurt and opened the front door for him.

"Text me when you get to the apartment, okay? I'll be checking on my phone. And I'll call you tonight as soon as I'm done with work." Blaine told him, managing to keep his smile because Kurt needed to see it and hold onto it. "I love you so much."

Kurt nodded and smiled back.

"I love you too Blaine." He held Blaine's hand for a second before squeezing and then letting go to take the suitcases, and wheeling them down the path to the street.

He turned back and gave Blaine a wink, and also sent loving feelings to him that he knew Blaine could feel, and while he was thinking about love and happiness, he walked away.

Blaine stood there for a few minutes, even after Kurt disappeared from sight. He knew that they were lucky to have met, to share such a pure love, but in that moment he felt an emptiness inside of him. And when he walked back into the B&B, that emptiness only got bigger.

But as he started crying again, he smiled too. Because he knew that everything was going to be okay, that if it hurt it was because his story with Kurt was special... and that they were going to be together forever.

The relationship didn't change much. That was the good thing.

Once Kurt was back home in his and Rachel's apartment, he did immediately text Blaine that he was home and that night when Blaine called him, they spoke on the phone until 3am.

It was weird being apart at first, after spending months together, but they managed.

Kurt went back to college, and he also got the job as an assistant in the fashion house he sent his portfolio too. So he was working on his life goals and making his own money now. His father and Carole had been ecstatic for him and Blaine had told him how proud he was of him every time he called.

Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays were their days. And that's how they stayed. Even when they couldn't spend time together any other days because of either work, or Kurt's classes, or other commitments. Those precious times were just for them.

The first time that Blaine ever met Rachel, was on the Monday after Kurt had left, and Kurt and Blaine had been busy ripping each other's clothes off while making love, and she burst in.

Blaine had laughed for hours as Kurt grumbled about it, and he claimed he was sorry for someone else seeing him naked, but Kurt knew he wasn't actually sorry.

He didn't speak to Rachel for the rest of the night. And Blaine found it hilarious.

A couple of weeks later, Kurt met Blaine's parents. He found himself loving them both almost immediately, because they were fantastic. Stephen, Blaine's father, was physically an older version of Blaine, with a great sense of humor. And Caroline, his mother, was very loving and sweet, and when she hugged Kurt after dinner, he felt part of that family. And Blaine's proud look was what Kurt needed to melt inside.

However, from then on, a difficult time started. Kurt was very stressed between college and his internship. He barely slept, but he never skipped a date with Blaine because they were what he most expected of the week.

That was until one day while they were having lunch at his apartment, Blaine started talking about John.

John was the guy Blaine had hired to help him at the B&B. Apparently he was great and everyone there adored him... and Kurt exploded. He missed his boyfriend, and that he spent part of the little time they had together talking about another guy who had also replaced him at the B&B was the last straw.

Blaine felt the mixture of anger and jealousy coming out of Kurt, but before he could try to fix it, Kurt started yelling at him, saying that maybe he should go have lunch with John instead.

Blaine had been a little confused about Kurt's outburst, but as soon as he felt that Kurt was crying behind his bedroom door, he opened it.

Kurt apologized and told Blaine he was just stressed out and missed him so much. He had been expecting to have days off and go back to the Bed and Breakfast to spend some time with everyone and cook and be happy, but instead Blaine had hired someone else that now everyone loved and he felt pushed out.

Blaine reassured him that he could never be pushed out, Kurt would always belong there, whether it was this week or next month, he would always have a place to come to.

Kurt and Blaine's first fight didn't really last long, because Blaine began to show up on days Kurt didn't expect him, just to spend time together. Which made Kurt feel better inside.

After Thanksgiving, spent with Blaine's parents because Kurt had already bought tickets to go to Ohio for Christmas, Caroline and Stephen had made Kurt feel like he was expected to be at every family event they had from now on, and because Blaine was going with Kurt to spend Christmas with his parents, the Anderson's told Kurt that he should be here at their party for New Year's.

Blaine and Kurt spent every waking moment together when Kurt was on break for Christmas a week before their flights, and had a lot of sex.

They both had expected their physical relationship to change after a few months, but it didn't. They had only gotten more comfortable and at ease with each other, and that made them insatiable every time they were together.

Although it couldn't happen every day, whenever it did it was amazing.

Ohio was much colder than New York for Christmas, and Blaine found himself rubbing his hands together and shivering even as they had only just stepped out of the airport.

Burt and Carole had been there to meet them, Burt and Carole both hugging Blaine and claiming him as one of their family too now, exactly the way Blaine's parents had done to Kurt.

Kurt was proud of the fact that Blaine seemed to melt in their embraces, and he was so in love with his boyfriend it was almost overwhelming. But when Blaine had looked over at him with equal love shining in his eyes, he knew that this was where they were supposed to be.

Blaine and Burt found common ground in watching football games, and were talking sports all the tie they were there.

Teary goodbyes and and an airplane ride later, Kurt stayed the night at the B&B with Blaine, missing the way he used to sleep next to him every night for the last month he was there, not 6 months ago now.

New Years was a spectacular event. The Anderson's party was wild, so many people and so many family members had shaken Kurt's hand and asked when he and Blaine were going to be married, drunk Uncles and Aunts had hugged him, pinched his cheeks, given him tips about how to handle an Anderson man, and even offered him money for the wedding.

Kurt had laughed at Blaine horrified face and he pulled his boyfriend out of sight of everyone to reassure him that it was okay, and he was having a good time.

As the clocks all struck midnight, they kissed as a silent promise that the New Year would be better than the last, that they would remain close and spend every moment they could loving each other.

And they kept their promise. They took care of their relationship and enjoyed every second together. They didn't argue again, were always honest and told each other if something was wrong or if they needed something.

When a few months later Kurt finally had a day off and was able to go to the B&B, he met John and realized that his jealousy was totally unfounded. John was very nice and Kurt could see why everyone loved him, but he was straight and wasn't a problem in his relationship with Blaine.

Finally their first anniversary arrived, and they both kept their promise. Kurt drew two stars, and he and Blaine went to get them tattooed. Blaine barely opened his mouth, but when it was Kurt's turn, he didn't stop protesting, saying that it hurt a lot and that if Blaine forced him to go through that again, he would break up with him.

Blaine couldn't stop laughing, because he felt that his boyfriend wasn't actually feeling that much pain and he just loved to complain.

When they both had their stars on their wrists, Kurt had to admit that he loved the result, and Blaine rewarded his 'bravery' with such a passionate kiss at the tattoo studio door that earned the whistles of several passer-by's.

For the next few months, they fell into a routine of seeing each other almost everyday, and as soon as Kurt managed to get days off he was in the Bed and Breakfast, either in the kitchen helping john cook, or helping Blaine with paperwork, stealing kisses every now and then.

He had also managed to bring clothes along a couple of times and stayed until morning when he had to go.

Life was good for them right now. And Blaine couldn't believe how incredibly lucky he was to meet someone like Kurt.

Blaine was there standing next to Burt and Carole when Kurt graduated college. Blaine was there when Kurt got the call for his very first debut on Broadway, only as a background cast member, but it was pretty thrilling.

Once the first Broadway play hit the streets, Kurt's name actually became much more popular and his singing voice was incredible so he managed to get a pretty good part in another more popular show. Blaine was incredibly proud of his boyfriend, and promised Kurt that he would be there on opening night.

Which he was.

He sat in the audience, next to his own parents and Kurt's parents, and watched with rapt amazement as his boyfriend used his voice and stage presence to wow the audience.

When the play was over, Blaine and Burt stood up almost at the same time to applaud Kurt, although they got quickly lost among the great mass of people cheering excitedly, some of them even crying.

Then both families used the backstage passes that Kurt had given them and went to see him. Blaine was the one who knocked on the door.

When Kurt opened it, he was just wiping a wet wipe over his face to get the makeup off and he grinned brightly at everyone.

"Hey, come on in!" He said excitedly as he opened the door wide, Burt got to him first and hugged him.

"You were fantastic Kurt!"

"Thanks dad."

Blaine waited until Carole had hugged him too and then stepped forward.

"God, baby, you were amazing. I'm so proud of you." He told him before pulling him in his arms and whispering in his ear, "you are my star, today and forever."

Kurt hugged him back tightly and breathed deeply with his face buried in Blaine's neck before pulling back. "You shine just as brightly as i do honey."

"Kurt, that performance was phenomenal." Caroline said as she pushed past her son to take Kurt in her arms.

"Mom, I was hugging him." Blaine protested, but there was a small smile on his face.

"You see him all the time, we don't." She pointed, squeezing Kurt's cheeks.

"And that's why we're going to invite you all to dinner. To celebrate Kurt's big night." Stephen commented, moving closer to Kurt as soon as his wife let him go.

Stephen pulled Kurt into a side hug, patting his arm mildly and Kurt gave them a smile.

"Oh you don't have to do that, i was going to-" Kurt started but was interrupted by his own father.

"Nonsense, we have to all go and celebrate."

As both sets of their parents began talking to each other about dinner and about Kurt's show, Kurt pulled Blaine over to his dresser.

"Sorry honey, i know you wanted us to have our own celebration."

"Don't worry, I'm not going to argue with those four." Blaine laughed, stroking Kurt's cheek. "But after dinner, you're all mine. Deal?"

"Deal." Kurt said as he handed Blaine a few wet wipes, "help me get this off though?"

Blaine laughed and nodded as he began helping Kurt remove the very thick stage make up. Kurt kept sending him lust filled feelings during though, which made Blaine shiver and hit his arm softly a couple times.

"I know what you're doing, and our parents are right there. You're playing dirty, Kurt." Blaine whispered, pouting at him as he threw away the dirty wet wipe.

Kurt only shrugged.

"But it's fun." He grinned, sticking his tongue out at Blaine as he wiped the last part of make up from his eye. "That'll have to do, i'll get rest off in the shower later."

"Of course. I'll get in the shower with you and help you... get it off." Blaine winked at him and went to join their parents before Kurt could answer.

Half an hour later, everyone was comfortably seated in the restaurant. Dinner was a lot of fun, because all of them were happy and the conversation and jokes flowed easily.

Blaine and Kurt held hands the entire time as they tried to follow their parents' talk while silencing their want to be alone, which was even more difficult for Blaine, because the feelings coming out of Kurt weren't helping.

When all of them left the restaurant smiling and satisfied, Kurt excused himself saying that he was tired, and Blaine immediately added that he was going to walk him to his apartment to make sure he arrived safely, which made everyone smile knowingly at them before saying goodbye with a lot of kisses and hugs.

After spending a beautiful night together in Kurt's apartment, making love over and over again in their own special celebration, Kurt and Blaine fell asleep in each other's arms.

Although before Kurt fell asleep, he thought about what he wanted, and finally came to a personal decision in his head. He would tell Blaine tomorrow.

Blaine couldn't come to Kurt's show the next afternoon, but that was okay, because Kurt had received flowers and a card in his dressing room afterwards, from Blaine, claiming how much he was made to be on stage and that he was so proud to call him his boyfriend.

Kurt smiled as his eyes set in determination and once he left for the night, he headed back to the apartment to talk to Rachel.

Blaine was busy with the papers and invoices in his office, when there was a knock at his door. Kurt had text him that he was going home after the show, so Blaine was in a bit of a sour mood.

He and Kurt had been spending a lot of time together, but he knew that these Broadway shows were tiring for the actors. He didn't blame Kurt for wanting to go home to rest today.

But that didn't mean he wasn't going to miss spending the night with him.

"John, I'm busy. I don't care what you make for dinner, I don't think I'm going out to eat." Blaine said without looking up from the papers on his desk.

"Oh well, that's okay. We can stay in for dinner." Came the beautiful voice of his boyfriend as the door opened and Blaine's head shot up as his eyes widened.

"Kurt!" Blaine exclaimed, getting up from the desk and approaching him to capture his lips in a quick kiss. "What are you doing here? I thought you were going right to your place."

"I did." Kurt answered with a grin, and Blaine could then feel some kind of emotion flowing through Kurt, determination mixing with joy, "but i wanted to talk to you."

"Okay." Blaine raised an eyebrow as he watched him closely. He knew that what Kurt was about to tell him was good, but he couldn't sense anything else. "About what?"

"I made a decision." Kurt said vaguely and Blaine furrowed his brows slightly, "about my life you know. I mean, i'm on Broadway now and i love it. And i need to make decisions about other things, like where i live, who i surround myself with."

"I don't follow." Blaine replied, a bit confused. "I know you're happy and excited, but I don't understand what you're trying to tell me. Are you moving with Rachel somewhere else?"

"No, i've decided to move out of the apartment." Kurt grinned, "i need to live somewhere that's mine you know?"

"Are you going to have your own apartment? Oh baby, that's great!" Blaine smiled at him. "I just hope it's close to here."

Kurt sighed a little and grabbed Blaine's hand. "Come with me."

He pulled Blaine out of his office and turned to the stairs, still dragging him up along with him until they were outside Blaine's bedroom door.

When they got there, Blaine saw Kurt's luggage by the door. It was not just a small bag like when he wanted to stay the night, but the same suitcases that Kurt used to carry all his things when he left the B&B.

"Why are all your things here?" Blaine asked slowly, because the idea that was starting to grow in his mind couldn't be true. There had to be another explanation.

"I'm staying.." Kurt said with a big smile, "actually i'm moving in."

Blaine opened his mouth to say something but Kurt beat him to it.

"I know it's a rash decision and we haven't spoken about it. But do you remember when you told me, the kitchen would always be mine, and your heart would be too?"

Blaine tried to ask his heart to stop beating so fast, because that couldn't be happening. As happy as that idea made him, he couldn't be selfish with Kurt.

"And it was true. Everything I am is yours, including this place." Blaine replied. "But Kurt... you are a Broadway star. You deserve a penthouse in Times Square. A B&B is not good enough for you."

"I know that's what happens with most Broadway actors...they get expensive houses, and luxury cars...but Blaine, honey," Kurt took his hands and made him look into his eyes, the seriousness and love in them took Blaine's breath away, "my heart is yours, my body is yours, my soul is yours. And this place, it's where i want to be. I'm just following my heart, and finally allowing it to come home."

Blaine bit his lower lip, trying to hold back tears. He looked for something in Kurt that showed that his boyfriend was doing this for the wrong reasons, but he couldn't find anything... just pure love.

"Are you completely sure?" He asked in an emotional voice. "I don't want you to give up anything to be with me, I would never forgive myself."

"I'm not giving anything up, i'm gaining so much." Kurt bit his lip, "if you want me."

"Are you serious? There's nothing I want more than this, than you. This place hasn't been the same since you left." Blaine's hands moved gently up Kurt's arms to settle on his shoulders. "But on one condition."

"Anything." Kurt said with a grin.

Blaine smiled widely and leaned in until his lips brushed Kurt's.

"When you're not too busy making the Broadway audience fall in love with you, you'll go to the kitchen and make some of your desserts for me." He purred.

"Deal." Kurt whispered before pulling Blaine against him for a proper kiss, holding onto him tightly.

Blaine hummed against Kurt's mouth, parting his lips for him and digging his hands into his hair. He had never been so happy as that moment, knowing that Kurt would always be by his side, and he could feel the same happiness from Kurt.

"I hope you are sure about this, because now that you have returned, I will never let you go." He gasped, disconnecting his lips from Kurt's for just a second before kissing him again.

Kurt pulled back and leaned his forehead against Blaine's, pressing a fingertip against his temple lightly.

"Can't you feel it honey? This is forever." Kurt smiled at him, one of those special smiles that were full of love and hope and promise.

There were no more words needed, Blaine knew it, he could feel it. So without a word exchanged anymore, he kissed Kurt again, both of them clinging onto each other right there in the hallway outside Blaine's bedroom.

There would be hard times, they were sure of it, and there would be overwhelmingly good times too. It was the special bits in between those that were the most exciting for them both, where they could just be together, talk, cook, laugh, sing.

Their lives were just beginning, and as they both stumbled through Blaine's bedroom door with Kurt's suitcases before collapsing in a pile of giggles and kisses on the bed, they knew that their story would be forever.
