Work Text:
Hope pushed open the front door of their house one dreary winter evening, bags of groceries slung over her arms. As she closed the door behind her, she listened carefully through the house, immediately identifying Josie’s voice coming from their bedroom. It sounded like she was talking to someone on the phone.
Assuming it was one of her parents, Hope made her way into the kitchen and began to put away the items she had picked up for her girlfriend. When she opened the fridge, she eyed the small store of blood bags in the back of top shelf. It was Josie’s blood, and Hope felt her fangs protrude as she stared at them for a second. She hadn’t fed at all in a day or so, which was about how often she went without drinking blood unless she really needed her strength for something.
She considered having a sip now, but she preferred to do so while having dinner with Josie, so she quickly finished putting the groceries away before heading toward the bedroom. The door was cracked open when she got to the room, so she gently pushed it open and leaned against the doorframe. Josie was relaxing across their king sized bed, her phone up against her ear.
Josie was laughing lightheartedly at whatever the other person was saying, and then her eyes landed on Hope and seemed to sparkle. Hope cracked a smile—she loved Josie’s expression when she saw Hope.
She wanted to know who Josie was talking to, but she tried really hard not to eavesdrop when her girlfriend was on the phone.
“Hey,” Josie said through the phone, “I’ve gotta go and get dinner ready, but it was great catching up. Yes, you definitely should, that would be awesome. Cool. You too!” She hung up the phone and Hope quirked up an eyebrow. Who had Josie been catching up with?
“Who was that?” Hope asked curiously, tilting her head.
“You remember Jade, right?” Josie wondered. Hope bit down on the inside of her cheek as certain feelings flooded through her body. She did remember Jade, but not really from the brief time they were in school together. She really remembered Jade from Josie admitting to her once during college that the two of them had kissed once, after Jade had come out of the prison world.
“Mmhmm.”
“She said she reached out to my dad recently because she was thinking about coming by Mystic Falls again, and he gave her my number,” Josie explained with a smile. “I guess she’s interested in volunteering to help with recruitment and stuff for the school. Plus, she wanted to catch up.”
“I see,” Hope mused, pushing off of the doorframe and taking a few steps closer to the bed. “And how’s she doing?”
“Good,” Josie answered with a nod, “yeah, sounds like she’s really gotten her ripper stuff in control. She told me she’s been traveling a lot. She was in Greece last month, isn’t that cool?”
Hope hummed. “Greece is beautiful,” she said offhandedly, now crouching down to sit next to Josie on the bed.
“Yeah, she was telling me about all the cool stuff she got to see. I told her about how I got my PhD earlier this year and coming back to Mystic Falls,” Josie continued, apparently not noticing the way Hope continued to shift slightly closer to her.
“Did you tell her anything else?” Hope wondered. Josie blinked, maybe finally realizing that Hope was acting a little different than normal, and the auburn haired girl took the opportunity to suddenly straddle her girlfriend’s lap.
Finally catching on, Josie raised an eyebrow in amusement, “'Anything else' like how you and I are dating?” she wondered with a smirk. “Someone feeling possessive today?” Hope narrowed her eyes.
“No,” she lied, sniffing indignantly. Josie just grinned.
“Poor baby,” Josie teased, “come on, you know that I was just a kid when I had a crush on her.”
“I also know that you kissed her after I went through all that effort to save you both from the collapsing prison world,” Hope argued with a pointed pout.
Josie laughed. “You are ridiculous. First of all—I did most of the saving in that scenario—”
“But I stopped Alyssa Chang from ruining it before you could!”
“—And second of all, did you expect me to kiss you when you were actively dating Landon?” Josie teased gently.
“Okay, okay,” Hope muttered, realizing that the topic had been carried on too long. She didn’t care about what happened back then. What she wanted was to stake her claim, and she didn’t even care how badly her wolf was taking over her actions right now. “My point was that I wanted to make sure she knows that you are mine.”
Josie bit down on her lower lip. “Don’t you trust me?” she whispered breathily, her hands landing on Hope’s thighs. Even though her jeans separated their skin from touching, Hope hummed happily at the feeling.
“Of course I trust you,” Hope promised, her eyes raking over Josie’s body, “but that doesn’t mean I want her to think you’re available.”
“Well,” Josie whispered, her fingers coming to the button on Hope’s jeans, “as a matter of fact, I actually did mention that we were together, and she sounded happy for me. So no need to worry, baby.”
“Good…” Hope released a small breath as Josie unbuttoned her jeans, gently pulling down her zipper. “I thought you needed to go get dinner ready?”
Josie smirked. “As if you were going to let me do that. Anyway. I’m not that hungry yet.” Hope felt Josie’s fingers sliding under the waistband of her pants, hot against her skin. “You know… I like it when you get like this.”
“Is that so?” Hope husked, before dragging her own hands underneath Josie’s shirt, pulling it up to reveal her toned abdomen. “Then I guess you won’t mind if I take this off?” Josie bit down on her lower lip as she shook her head, and then Hope swiftly pulled the shirt up and over Josie’s head, leaving her in a black bra and the slacks she’d worn to work today.
“Aren’t you going to take the rest of it off?” Josie asked, quirking up an eyebrow. She knew how much of a temptation she was to Hope, knew exactly how to drive Hope crazy, especially when she was feeling possessive. “Don’t you want to stake your claim?” Hope suppressed a wolf-like growl, swallowing thickly.
Clothes came off quickly after that—not just Josie’s, but hers as well—until they were both completely naked. Dinner was long since forgotten, and Hope pressed Josie down into their soft bedsheets as she delved her tongue into her girlfriend’s mouth, kissing her deep and lovingly.
Josie gasped into her mouth between moans as Hope’s fingers pressed hard into her waist, one hand dragging down to grab her ass and squeeze. The brunette tore her lips away as she rotated her head, gasping and sounding so needy. Hope didn’t hesitate to take her lips elsewhere, sucking hot, wet kisses into the skin of Josie’s neck.
“Hope,” Josie whimpered wantonly, “I’m yours, I need you.”
Hope felt her eyes glowing golden as heat shot through her body. Her fangs protruded, pressing just barely against Josie’s neck. Suddenly, the line between desire and hunger was blurred—she hadn’t eaten recently enough. The fear of hurting Josie caused her to pull away, sitting up and staring up at the ceiling as she tried to ignore the loud pulsing of Josie’s heart. She sucked in deep breaths as Josie’s hands came to gently rest on her thighs.
“Baby?” Josie murmured. “Are you okay?”
“I…” Hope trailed off, trying so hard to retract her fangs, but her wolf part wanting to claim Josie and her vampire part being so hungry made it impossible. “I—I haven’t eaten,” she whispered, “I don’t want to hurt you, Jo.”
“You’re not going to hurt me,” Josie promised, as though she could make that decision. “Look at me, Hope.” Reluctantly, Hope turned her gaze down to look at her girlfriend. Somehow, Josie was never scared of seeing her like this and never failed to make her feel loved in spite of the monster she could become sometimes.
“You don’t understand, love,” Hope murmured, her fangs feeling heavy in her mouth. “Hunger to a vampire can be confused with any other feeling, especially desire. I want you to so bad, but I don’t want to risk accidentally…” She swallowed thickly again, not even able to get the words out.
Josie bit down on her lower lip, slowly pulling her hands away from Hope and up to her hair, where it was splayed around her head. She gently gathered it up and pulled it all to one side, revealing the left side of her neck. Hope’s gaze zeroed in on the skin there, practically able to hear and see the blood flowing underneath. “Just take what you want, Hope,” Josie whispered, so quiet and yet so confident. There was not a hint of fear in her voice, and the look in her eye told Hope this was not the first time she’d considered this.
“I don’t want to hurt you,” Hope murmured, her voice shaking.
“I know you’re not going to take too much. And if for some reason you did, I’d stop you. Okay?”
Hope found herself leaning down not of her own accord, just her instincts tugging her closer to Josie’s neck. “Jo… are you sure?”
“Yes,” Josie said firmly, “I’m sure. I’m yours, Hope, all yours. I need you…”
Hope didn’t have to hear anymore. She flattened herself over Josie’s body and gently brought her lips back to her neck. Her fangs practically throbbed as she forced herself to hesitate for one second before she dug them into Josie’s soft, perfect skin.
The sound that came out of Josie’s mouth was a deep moan, and Hope felt nails digging into the skin of her lower back. Josie arched up against Hope’s body as Hope sucked her blood slowly, keeping control of her every action. She would not be careless with Josie’s body, no, Josie was everything to her.
It became clear to her that whatever pain Hope was causing her girlfriend was just enough to make Josie hornier, by the way she was trying to rock her body up against Hope’s.
She retracted her fangs, lapping up the little bit of blood that continued to spill out, and brought her hand between Josie’s thighs. There she found that Josie was a hot, wet mess, and when she slid her fingers through it, the brunette whimpered desperately. Hope watched her with amazement for a moment, her eyebrows knit together perfectly as her mouth hung open, gasping for air as Hope teased her clit.
“Hope,” Josie begged, without actually mentioning any request. But Hope didn’t need to hear anymore words when Josie suddenly tangled a hand in her hair, shoving her head back down toward her neck.
Hope didn’t have to be asked twice, her fangs once again sinking into her girlfriend. Josie cried out desperately, her hips bucking against Hope’s hand. Not hesitating now, Hope pressed two fingers deep inside of her girlfriend as she slowly drained a bit more of her blood. She was being careful, not wanting to cause Josie to lose too much, but it was clear that the action was only making this more enjoyable for Josie. She’d never seen her girlfriend this desperate for her so quickly, clinging to her and begging.
“Please, Hope, please I need to—I need to—fuck, baby, I need—”
She didn’t need to finish any of her broken sentences for Hope to know that her girlfriend needed to come. Hope wasn’t drinking Josie’s blood anymore, but she kept her fangs dug into her neck as she pushed Josie over the edge, the brunette crying out in pleasure. As she did, Hope suddenly felt some of her magic draining out of her. Blinking, she pulled her lips away from Josie’s neck and glanced down at her girlfriend’s hand, the one not buried in her hair. It glowed bright red against Hope’s skin, siphoning some of her power.
Then Josie collapsed, spent, into the sheets, and the siphoning stopped as the lights in the room suddenly flickered, before the bulbs exploded, sending glass all over the floor.
Hope blinked and then looked down at her girlfriend with wide eyes, and Josie stared back up at her with a hazy gaze.
“Are you okay?” Hope asked, staring down at the bite marks in her neck.
“Better than okay,” Josie whispered, pulling Hope down on top of her and curling into her. “That felt so good. But I’m a lil’ dizzy now…”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Hope whispered, laughing a little in amazement. “God, Jo, you are so… beautiful and hot and… just perfect.” Josie blushed, a weak pink color coming across her cheeks. Hope couldn’t stand to see her girlfriend so physically weak. “Let me heal you, love.”
“Yeah, that’s probably a good idea,” Josie murmured in agreement. Hope raised her wrist to her lips and her fangs protruded as she bit down, breaking her skin easily. She then held her wrist up to Josie’s lips, and the brunette licked some of the blood away, swallowing and then cringing a little at the taste. She seemed to relax a little, and Hope watched the puncture holes in her neck healing almost immediately, the same way the bite on Hope’s wrist was sealing up.
Hope brushed some of Josie’s hair out of her face.
“That felt so good, though,” Josie murmured, her eyes staring straight into Hope’s, “and you didn’t hurt me.”
“Good,” Hope said softly, “and yeah I figured it felt good, considering you shattered all of the lightbulbs in the room.”
Josie blinked, sitting up abruptly and causing herself to waver. Hope immediately helped support her girlfriend. Hope’s blood would help, but she was still low on blood for right now. She looked around the room once she was steady, eyeing the glass all over the floors. “Damn it,” she mumbled.
“It’s okay,” Hope told her teasingly. “As much as it’s going to suck to replace them, it was pretty hot… you siphoning me while you came.”
Josie blushed again, a darker color now than before to Hope’s relief.
“Anyway, don’t worry. You stay here and rest. I’m going to make you some dinner and clean all of this up.”
“No, Hope, I can—”
“Hey,” Hope interrupted, “don’t argue, just rest. Okay? Please?”
Josie nodded, laying back down in bed. Smiling happily, Hope climbed off of the bed and grabbed a bathrobe, tying it around her naked body. She waved her hand and caused all of the glass pieces to pile themselves up in one corner of the room, which she would sweep up later.
As she started out of the room, she noticed Josie dozing off in their bed and she smiled again. Her wolf was pleased, and her stomach was satiated. And all in all, Hope was so in love with Josie Saltzman.
2 Years Later
Josie
Josie didn’t let Hope take her anywhere for their honeymoon until just after the twins’ first birthday. Considering they had gotten married when the twins were only six months old, she hadn’t wanted to leave them alone with anyone for a whole week. Hope had insisted that she didn’t mind waiting, and even though Josie felt a little bad about making her wife wait, she was pretty sure that Hope genuinely didn’t mind. After all, it’s not like they didn’t have a literal eternity.
A few weeks after their gorgeous little girls turned one, Lizzie and MG came over to the house to stay for a week while Hope and Josie stole away for their honeymoon. After they had decided on a destination, Hope had insisted that the brunette let her handle the difficult planning, since Josie had to work, and they had the little girls to take care of. Josie had easily agreed—she knew she could handle anything, but sometimes it was nice to lay back and let Hope take control of things.
Their honeymoon trip was to Venice, and although Josie had traveled abroad to a few beautiful places, including Paris, Venice completely exceeded her expectations. The architecture was gorgeous, with beautiful water channels stretching between sections of the city. Although both Hope and Josie were vampires, they still tried just about every classic dish they could find. Nothing could stop them from enjoying authentic Italian food.
They explored the narrow streets and road in a gondola with their arms wrapped around each other in the evening light. They went wine tasting and tasted every flavor of Gelato from a cute little shop filled with other tourists.
Thankfully, blood hadn’t been an issue at all, because via the power of compulsion, they’d had no issues bringing their own blood bags with them on the plane. Josie didn’t like feeding on human blood, but between taking care of two babies and her full time job, it was difficult to find time to hunt enough animals for her and Hope to be on the so-called “bunny diet,” like Lizzie and MG were. Still, she didn’t want to have to snatch, eat, erase for every meal either. Blood bags were the best option most of the time, and on vacation, it beat having to attempt to hunt without knowing the supernatural culture of Venice. If there was one thing that Hope had learned and shared with Josie over time was that every city had their own supernatural order of things.
Besides exploring the beautiful city and indulging themselves on all of the food and wine, the two of them spent a lot of time holed up in the old, beautiful hotel room they were staying in.
And on the last night of their honeymoon, Josie didn’t want to go out to a fancy restaurant or take another gondola ride. She had a better plan.
They were out walking, hand in hand, through the streets, when Hope gently asked, “Anything in particular you want to do tonight, love?”
“Actually,” Josie said, drawing out the word as she squeezed her wife’s hand firmly, before suddenly tugging her down a narrower corridor between two buildings. Hope followed her without question, allowing Josie to run at vampire speed down the tight, empty street and then to press Hope against one of the buildings.
Josie knew that her wife was stronger than her, courtesy of being a Tribrid and also having nine years on her of being a vampire. But Hope’s body was completely limp and pliable as Josie pressed her into the old stone wall, letting Josie dominate her for once.
“I had an idea or two,” Josie murmured into Hope’s ear, feeling her body react, arching into hers slightly.
“Oh yeah?” Hope asked breathily as Josie kissed directly below her wife’s ear.
“Mmhmm…” Josie hummed happily as she began to suck on the soft skin of Hope’s neck. Her wife was making breathy little noises as she squirmed between Josie and the stone wall.
Only when Josie’s hands moved to grab at Hope’s ass did the auburn haired woman moan out, “Jo, anyone could walk back here,” she murmured, “should we—”
Josie cut her words off with a searing kiss to her lips, and whatever suggestion Hope was going to give was lost in their mouths. Hope tried to press forward, but Josie grabbed her hips and pushed her aggressively back against the wall, a deep moan immediately ripping out of Hope’s throat. She dug her nails into Hope’s hips as she kissed her wife harder and faster.
It was only when she suddenly heard a group of people talking—probably close to turning onto this little street—that she voluntarily pulled away from Hope. Her blue eyes were so dark—her pupils blown—and her skin was visibly flushed. Josie was obsessed with how worked up she could get her.
“I told you,” Hope murmured softly, but Josie just grabbed her hands and whisked them away back toward their little hotel.
It didn’t take them long to get there and get inside their little room. Josie shoved Hope against the back of the front door as soon as they were inside, her movements supernaturally fast as she yanked her shirt up and over her head and practically tore away her bra.
Hope gasped as Josie began to trace her wife’s upper body with her tongue, teeth and lips. She sucked hickeys everywhere, wishing they wouldn’t heal so fast but appreciating that she could leave so many. Hope’s breathing came out faster and shallower the more Josie worshipped her abdomen and breasts. When she finally came back up to kiss Hope on the lips, her wife quickly removed Josie’s top as well, and Josie let her unclasp her bra as well, evening the playing field.
But Hope had clearly gotten the message already—Josie wanted to be dominant tonight, and Josie knew that her wife didn’t mind at all.
It always filled Josie with arousal knowing that she was the only person Hope would get like this for. Submissive. Josie might not be a wolf herself, but she knew a lot about Hope’s experiences as a wolf by now. She understood that being a werewolf filled with her more aggression that needed to be let out by either wolfing out or exercising. She knew that Hope would often be filled with a desire to claim Josie, and that brought out her urge to dominate.
And Hope had never really had a pack—even back at the Salvatore School when they were younger, Hope had never been a part of the school’s pack. She was more of a lone wolf, but Hope had admitted to Josie before that part of that came from her wolf’s desire to be alpha, and every other part of her wanting to reject that. It was just easier to accept not having a pack at all than to have to battle with that all of the time.
And as a lone wolf, Hope was not one to submit to anyone.
Except, of course, for Josie, in moments like these.
As Hope moaned from her position pressed against the door, and Josie stared at her with dark eyes, she suddenly became overwhelmed with a strange desire. She felt veins bulging beneath her eyes and felt her fangs protruding in her mouth. Hope stared right back at her, her eyes glowing golden and indicating to Josie that she found her attractive like this, with her vampire features on full display.
“You okay?” Hope asked her gently, clearly realizing that Josie was suddenly holding back.
“Yeah, I just… really have the sudden urge to…” She trailed off as she lowered her gaze to Hope’s neck, hearing the pulsing of her heart. It wasn’t like she was craving human blood—she knew what that felt like by now, and considering Hope’s blood was the furthest from human, this was entirely something else. This was a deep, sexual desire. Maybe even more than that—she couldn’t explain it.
“Do it,” Hope said, her expression looking demanding but her voice coming out desperate, like a plea.
Josie didn’t hesitate after that. She leaned down and sunk her fangs deep into her wife’s neck, breaking the skin easily.
Just a few times before, Josie had consumed Hope’s blood—back when she was shot with a bullet made from Malivore mud, and the times Hope had healed her after drinking from her during sex. In those times, though, it had not tasted good by any means, and she’d barely managed to choke it down. Since then, consuming human blood had become a regular occurrence for her, of course.
Tasting Hope’s blood now was a whole different experience from either of those, though. It was addictive, and not even just because of the taste. It was the way Hope was soft and submissive below her, allowing Josie to have all of her, the soft, breathy moans she released as Josie drank her blood, feeling Hope’s hands grasping her ass and squeezing wantonly.
“Josie,” Hope practically whimpered, and the brunette finally pulled her fangs out and leaned away enough to look at her wife’s face. Hope was looking at her with nothing but love and want, and Josie didn’t hesitate to whisk her away from the door and press her into the mattress on their bed.
“Fuck, I love you,” Josie whispered to the perfect woman below her.
“I love you,” Hope said back, burying her hands into Josie’s hair to pull her down for a deep kiss, undoubtedly tasting her own blood on Josie’s lips.
Josie’s hands seemed to develop a mind of their own as they dragged down to Hope’s pants, almost ripping the button and zipper in order to quickly undo them. The pants were off in a matter of seconds, and Hope kept them even by swiftly removing Josie’s as well. Although Josie allowed it, she was still determined to make her wife feel good tonight.
She firmly held Hope against the mattress as she began to trail hot kisses down her entire body. She kissed every inch of exposed skin on her thighs before finally coming to the inside of her right thigh. Trying to be careful, she took off Hope’s panties as quickly as she could, and then stared up at her wife’s wet center. She closed her eyes and inhaled sharply, smelling her delicious scent.
“Josie,” Hope pleaded. “I need you, please, love…”
Josie bit down on her lower lip, realizing that her fangs had made themselves known again. Despite how badly she wanted to run her tongue between Hope’s folds, she let herself be taken over completely by her dark desires as she forced apart Hope’s thighs and then dug her fangs into the inside of her right one. Hope cried out in surprise, before moaning deeply again.
Josie knew that her wife healed quickly and was full of power, so she knew that she would be okay losing some more blood. Still, part of her wanted Hope to feel that same sort of dizziness that Josie had experienced the few times that Hope had drank her blood during sex, before she was a vampire. So she indulged in the delicious taste of her wife’s blood before finally retracting her fangs and burying her tongue into her folds mercilessly, running it over Hope’s clit.
Hope seemed so desperate, gasping and moaning and tightening her thighs around Josie’s head like she never wanted her to leave. Her hands were still buried in Josie’s hair, twisting and pulling as she reacted to the feeling of Josie’s tongue against her most sensitive areas. “F-Fuck,” Hope gasped out shakily, “Jo, oh my—fuck, love, please don’t stop—please don’t—oh my—Josie!”
And just like that, Hope’s entire body tensed, her thighs clamping around Josie’s head even tighter than before as she cried out desperately. Josie helped her wife ride out her orgasm until she felt Hope’s body go limp around her, at which point she carefully pulled her face away from Hope’s center and then crawled up to lay on top of her body, their faces level.
Hope was breathing heavily, her eyelids appearing heavy as she struggled to keep them open, and Josie couldn’t help but smirk proudly.
“Vampires don’t get tired having sex, huh?” Josie whispered teasingly.
Hope grunted, furrowing her eyebrows. “No one’s ever…” She trailed off, her eyes opening fully and meeting Josie’s. “No one’s ever drank my blood before—not like that. I’m allowed to be tired.”
Josie smiled. “You seemed to like it.”
“Trust me, I did,” Hope confirmed with a chuckle, wrapping her arms around Josie’s middle and holding her on top of her. “Just could use a little nap now while I heal…”
Josie chuckled, burying her face into Hope’s neck. “Okay. I can handle a little nap before.”
“Before what?” Hope whispered into her ear.
“Before I do that again.”
Hope hummed with interest. “What? Fuck me? Drink my blood?”
“Both,” Josie whispered lowly, scraping her fangs against Hope’s neck teasingly. Hope let out a little gasp. “You asked what I wanted to do tonight. That’s what I want to do. You. I want to have all of you all night.”
“You can all of me whenever you want,” Hope whispered lovingly, “and I want you to have whatever you want tonight.”
Josie grinned. “I love you, Hope.”
“I love you, too, Jo. So much.”
