an excuse to kiss you

Summary:

“this feels wrong,” jisung whispers, and he quickly ducks his head to avoid a smack from hyunjin.

“minho-hyung’s in a gay bar for some reason. that feels wrong,” hyunjin says before scanning the place again. “i can’t find him.”

“you know what he smells like.”

“mhm, and he smells better than you.”

jisung pouts at him miserably. he helps track down minho, and when he picks up on the familiar scent of cats, he nudges hyunjin. “he’s over there—”

what in the fucking world.

shut up. don’t you dare yell, jisung can hear hyunjin’s menacing tone in his head.

Work Text:

you’re doing it again . the voice that could never be mistaken for anyone else’s speaks in jisung’s head.

i’m doing what?? he replies, vaguely gesturing at hyunjin sitting on the other side of the table.

hyunjin rolls his eyes. you’re staring at the guy in purple again!!

are you jealous? jisung almost can’t hide the smirk on his face.

hyunjin rolls his eyes again. i’ll impress chan-hyung more, then you’ll be jealous.

jisung only laughs at hyunjin’s reply. he finds it cute when hyunjin gets competitive like this.

what are they doing exactly? well, jisung doesn’t really know, but chan had said “can you spy on minho for me?” and jisung had immediately said yes. because who doesn’t like being a secret spy? “shouldn’t you be trusting your boyfriend a bit more?” hyunjin had asked chan, but the older one only pouted at the question, and hyunjin left the room before he could throw up.

sure, they followed minho around the city, and nothing was really out of place. that was until minho entered a gay bar . to be specific: the hottest gay bar in the city. now what the hell would minho, who quite possibly has the hottest boyfriend ever, be doing in a gay bar?! neither jisung nor hyunjin know the answer to that, so here they are.

“this feels wrong,” jisung whispers, and he quickly ducks his head to avoid a smack from hyunjin.

“minho-hyung’s in a gay bar for some reason. that feels wrong,” hyunjin says. jisung mutters something about “why the hell would you hit me” under his breath, while hyunjin scans the place to find their target. “i can’t find him.”

“you know what he smells like,” jisung reminds him.

“mhm, and he smells better than you.”

“hey! what did i do to you?!” jisung pouts at him miserably. “i literally breathe and you wish upon me my immediate demise.” he helps track down minho, and when he picks up on the familiar scent of (shudders down his spine) cats, he nudges hyunjin. “he’s over there—”

what in the fucking world.

shut up. don’t you dare yell, jisung can hear hyunjin’s menacing tone in his head.

HOW DO YOU EXPECT ME TO YELL WHEN YOUR FUCKING LIPS ARE ATTACHED TO MINE?!?

jisung can feel his ears burning and he’s sure that 3 hours have passed, but hyunjin is still kissing him.

WHY ARE WE KISSING , jisung demands.

BECAUSE MINHO-HYUNG IS LOOKING THIS WAY AND HE KNOWS OUR FACES, hyunjin replies but jisung does not want to take that as an answer.

i bet you just wanna kiss me.

i will never be your partner ever again.

I’M NOT THE ONE KISSING MY FUCKING PARTNER. jisung is sending mental jabs and pokes at hyunjin right now. he can’t breathe anymore and it’s not because of the kiss, it’s because of his throat constricting because of the kiss. it’s wrong of him to think he likes this. very very wrong.

when hyunjin pulls back, he’s tomato red, but if jisung were to comment on it, he probably wouldn’t live to see the next full moon, so he chooses to keep his mouth shut.

they both keep their mouth shut, actually.

fuck chan. fuck minho and his trip to the gay bar.

that night, they find out that minho actually went to the gay bar to deliberately murder a regular. maybe murder is a word too strong— well, he spiked the guy’s drink and the guy was knocked out cold after 2 minutes, and after that, minho just left with some devilish smile on his face. how jisung and hyunjin are supposed to explain that to chan, they have no fucking idea.

anyway, the way back home was silent and awkward. while hyunjin can’t stop thinking about the kiss and how badly he must have messed up his and jisung’s friendship, jisung can’t stop thinking about the kiss and how badly he wants to kiss hyunjin again.

they both have their own problems, you could say.

hyunjin can’t open his mouth to speak, nor can he come up with any thoughts to share with jisung.

pervert , is the first thing hyunjin hears from jisung after 10 minutes of silence. hyunjin whips his head to the other and tries to smack him on the head, but jisung dodges it almost perfectly.

“don’t call me a pervert for saving our asses from getting caught!” if you look hard enough, steam is coming out of hyunjin’s nostrils and ears from both embarrassment and thisisoutrageous-ness .

jisung shakes his head. “you kissed me, and that’s not the first time!!”

hyunjin stumbles on his own tongue for a second there and he goes beet red before stuffing his hands in his pockets. “sh-shut up. i panicked the first time.”

just admit you wanna kiss me , jisung teases, and hyunjin just wants to beat the living shit out of him at this point.

when jisung spots the burning fury in hyunjin’s eyes, he backs away with his palms up, “i’m kidding! i’ll stop, i’ll stop!!”

the rest of the walk home is jisung sneakily sending “pervert” into hyunjin’s mind, and hyunjin trying not to put two hands around the other’s throat.

that kiss was definitely different from their first one.

the first kiss was almost the exact same situation, except they weren’t exactly spying on anyone. they were just somewhere they weren’t supposed to be, and chan just so happened to be there too.

anyway, again, that kiss was definitely different from their first one.

the first kiss didn’t ignite some raging fire in jisung’s stomach. the second kiss did, though. and jisung does not know what to do about that.

“you wanna kiss me so bad,” is something jisung always teasingly throws at hyunjin, and the other always reacts with some act of violence of some sort. jisung wants to throw himself off a cliff. he wants to kiss hyunjin so bad.

god , this is bad.

“hyung, why don’t you just confront him and ask him yourself like, i don’t know, a healthy couple?” hyunjin asks chan, who is sinking and sinking deeper into his bean bag.

“because i don’t want him to think i don’t trust him!”

“but you don’t trust him!” hyunjin raises a brow at him. jisung is just there standing at the side, rocking on the balls of his feet as he just waits for his partner to finish questioning chan so that they can play as secret spies again. “jisung, aren’t you gonna help me knock some sense into him?!” jisung raises his head and blinks his eyes like a clueless and confused puppy, and hyunjin groans.

“jin, just don’t do it if you don’t want to. jisung seems pretty eager.”

“no!” hyunjin replies a little too quickly. something in the speed of his reply sparks curiosity in chan. “i mean— it’s not that i don’t want to. it’s just that i’m questioning the state of your relationship with this human .”

“who smells like cats,” jisung wanted to add.

chan scowls, “don’t talk about minho like that.”

hyunjin laughs awkwardly, “sorry sorry, i didn’t mean for it to sound like that.”

they follow minho around the city, and as the route seems all too familiar, a stupid idea runs through jisung’s head.

“what if we have fun in that bar, too?” jisung asks vaguely, and hyunjin is ready to smack him in the head again. “i just mean!! i just mean, we don’t have to sit around like creepy stalkers. why don’t we just have fun? have a drink or two?”

“if minho-hyung sees us—”

“he won’t think anything of it because it’s a bar . he’ll just think we’re there to have fun too.”

the idea doesn’t seem so far-fetched to hyunjin. jisung does make sense. having fun rather than looking like obvious stalkers would be less suspicious. so as a reply, hyunjin shrugs his shoulders. that’s enough to make jisung hop on his feet excitedly. it’s been a while since i had a good drink.

“if minho-hyung spikes your drink, that’s not my fault,” hyunjin blurts out, and the events of the last night awfully creeps into jisung’s mind.

“right. maybe no drinks.”

you’re doing it again

jisung knits his brows together, peels his eyes off the guy in purple, then glares at hyunjin. “i thought we were here to have fun!”

“eye-fucking him is kinda…” hyunjin vaguely gestures and jisung’s face only contorts more in confusion.

“do you want me to fuck him then?”

hyunjin seems to go red as gibberish escapes his mouth. “you’re free to do whatever you want, but i’m not letting you abandon our mission!!”

jisung smiles, amused. “wow, i never thought you’d call it a mission.”

“shut up.”

“admit it, i’m rubbing off on you.”

“that is extremely offensive,” hyunjin says before shoving jisung’s nose out of his personal bubble and getting up from his seat.

where are you going? jisung asks.

he hears hyunjin scoff. to have fun. where else?

jisung shifts in his seat, tapping his finger against the glass of cocktail in front of him. he’s not drinking that when he knows it could potentially have some drug. speaking of a drug, he tries to figure out where minho is. he looks around the bar and then spots him behind the counter. wait, minho-hyung’s a bartender here?

what? hyunjin whips his head to the counter and almost laughs. chan-hyung doesn’t know that?

why do i feel like he’s only here to like, murder a select few by spiking their drinks.

stop calling it murder, they’re just knocked out cold.

how would you know? the guy whose drink he spiked last time isn’t here right now. a shiver runs down jisung’s spine. the thought of this cat-scented human worrying his boyfriend because he’s out here committing such a heinous crime is pretty terrifying.

really think minho-hyung’s that evil? hyunjin asks.

you can see it in his eyes. the will to kill.

hyunjin can’t help but laugh at how jisung said that. jisung looks to the dance floor to see hyunjin giggling quietly, and he kind of wishes he never looked because he can’t help but think about how cute hyunjin looks right now.

woah, i can hear your heartbeat. hyunjin has a trace of a teasing tone in his voice. jisung wants him out of his head.

i think i took a sip of the cocktail.

hyunjin’s eyes widen and seeing his reaction, jisung laughs. i’m kidding. go dance, you pervert.

stop calling me a pervert. jisung can technically hear him grit his teeth. provoking hyunjin like this just might be his new favorite hobby.

oh how jisung wants to die right now.

he can’t help but look. hyunjin is dancing among the crowd right now, and jisung really, for the love of everything, cannot help but look . respectfully? he thinks not.

the way hyunjin rocks his body to the music and just dances like he’s lost in his own world is making jisung’s mouth run a little too dry. the cocktail in front of him is a little too tempting right now. bitch, i’m thirsty. i’m gonna drink the cocktail. i’m sure we’re not on minho-hyung’s hitlist anyway. he makes sure to tell hyunjin that. he’s not that bad of a partner.

hyunjin hums in reply. whether or not he actually understood what jisung said, jisung doesn’t know. he chugs the whole glass down his throat anyway.

he feels refreshed. extremely refreshed. but how hyunjin is still dancing and how jisung is still staring, are making his efforts go to waste right now.

he feels thirsty again. he really should stop looking.

“chan-hyung, does minho-hyung have like, the motive to kill?” jisung asks, and chan almost chokes on his coffee.

“why are you asking that?” confusion is written all over chan’s face and hyunjin actually laughs this time.

“well, we followed him around like you said. and like we said last time, he went to that bar in town. he works as a bartender there, and he’s spiked like 4 people’s drinks in total.”

“mhm, and we haven’t seen the first guy from the last time. we’re pretty sure he’s dead,” jisung sips his own cup of coffee like he’s giving chan the most normal information ever. chan’s movements seem a thousand times slower than his usual. well, what the hell can he really do when he’s processing information that could potentially point to his lover being some murderous cat-lover?

“you need to talk to your boyfriend,” hyunjin tells him.

“yeah…i think i do…”

this time, jisung and hyunjin are on their way to the gay bar, not because chan asked them or anything. this time, they’re just going there because they want to. well, jisung wants to.

tell me why i’m here again , hyunjin asks as he walks in complaint.

because you’re my partner, and i’m curious as to who’s on minho-hyung’s hitlist tonight.

isn’t this something chan-hyung should be doing, not you?

jisung scoffs. i’m a curious secret spy. minho-hyung’s my shady friend. i just wanna see what he’s up to.

and why do i, your supposed partner, have to be dragged into this?

jisung scowls at hyunjin. “look, if you don’t wanna come with me, then don’t! i can be curious on my own.”

“you didn’t give me that option earlier,” hyunjin mutters under his breath, but jisung can so clearly hear it.

jisung juts a lip out in complaint as he softly shoves hyunjin to the side. “just go if you don’t wanna come.”

hyunjin shakes his head. “i’m already here. let’s just go be secret spies.”

hearing “secret spies” come out of hyunjin’s mouth is probably the highlight of jisung’s week so far.

minho’s a bartender again. it doesn’t seem like he and chan have talked yet. honestly speaking, that conversation between the three of them happened only two days ago, and hyunjin and jisung know chan well enough to not expect him to initiate the conversation with his boyfriend that soon. jisung said minho killed a few guys, after all. how is he supposed to act upon that knowledge?!

hyunjin repeatedly licks his lips the whole time they’re sitting in the booth, and so for his own sanity, jisung pays mind to the passing cutie in purple. it’s the same guy in purple he’s been eyeing since they first visited the bar, so it may only seem natural.

“hey,” jisung calls, and the guy in purple stops in front of their booth.

“hey, what can i do for ya?” his freckled grin is extremely pretty. looking at him up close makes jisung realize how attractive this “guy in purple” really is. perfect. what a perfect distraction from jisung’s persistent (and wrong) want to kiss hyunjin and those stupidly perfect lips of his.

“well, a drink would be nice but,” jisung gets up and offers the other a hand, “care to dance,” jisung reads the pretty text on his name tag, “felix?”

felix’s eyes turn into crescents as he nods and takes jisung’s hand, guiding him through the crowd to the center of the dance floor.

i’m starting to think you’re not here for minho-hyung , jisung hears hyunjin’s voice in his head. he sounds a little aggravated, but jisung thinks he’s reading into it a little too much.

well, felix is hot, so.

hyunjin scoffs, but he doesn’t reply anymore.

he won’t admit it, but seeing jisung dance like that with felix is kind of getting on hyunjin’s nerves. he won’t admit it. he will never . well, what reason would he have to do so? why would jisung dancing with some cutie at a gay bar get on hyunjin’s nerves? now that’s a part of himself he won’t even dare touch.

felix plants a kiss on jisung’s cheek and hyunjin can feel thick green envy dripping from his heart. again, he won’t admit it. because again, what reason would he have to do so? and again , he won’t try to answer that question.

hyunjin i think i fell in love with the purple guy. five nights at freddy’s tells me that’s an extremely stupid thing to do , jisung’s voice sounds in hyunjin’s mind the moment felix starts walking away from him.

i don’t know who the hell freddy is but i agree.

jisung gasps like hyunjin just said something extremely offensive. how dare you say that! what if felix right there is my one true love in this lifetime??

hyunjin swallows down the urge to growl protectively. at this point, he can’t deny the fact that he feels some degree of jealousy right now.

then go chase after your guy in purple.

jisung only laughs at hyunjin’s remark.

that night, they don’t see minho murder anyone.

“hyunjin, wait for a bit,” chan says before hyunjin can leave the room.

“why, are you gonna ask me to spy on minho-hyung again?” hyunjin laughs, and chan flushes a little pink. “did you two talk yet?”

chan nods, “mhm. he’s a hitman.”

“excuse me— what ?”

chan laughs and shakes his head. “the guys whose drinks he spiked were his ex co-workers. minho holds grudges. and they’re not dead, don’t worry.” hyunjin tries to gloss over the fact that minho holds grudges and nods slowly. he decides to not comment on the contrasting personas the couple have.

“jisung wouldn’t be so happy to hear that,” hyunjin jokes, but when a suspicious smirk stretches across chan’s features, he stops to look at him with a glaring “what?”

“speaking of jisung, that’s why i wanted you to wait for a bit.” chan shifts in his seat, lacing his fingers together and resting them on his lap like some privacy-invading guidance counselor. a shiver runs down hyunjin’s spine at the thought of the guidance counselor. he still thinks they are the worst things to exist in school. chan clears his throat exaggeratedly and hyunjin glances around to see if there’s a really quick escape route he can use right now. “you seem to hold…interest.”

“mhm…go on, that’s too vague. or maybe i can just leave,” hyunjin points to the door, making it crystal clear to chan that he does not want to have this conversation right now. chan, as persistent as he is, will not let him walk out of this one so easily, though.

“i have a feeling you like him, jin,” the smile on chan’s face gives away everything. hyunjin’s face contorts in horror as he starts shaking his head profusely. “no— wait! i’m sure i’m not the only one who thinks that.” hyunjin’s eyes widen even more in horror.

“WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT’S NOT ONLY YOU?!” the way his brows furrow like he’s facing the worst thing to happen in his life right now is enough to make chan laugh.

“I MEAN! i mean i’m sure you think it too.”

hyunjin visibly relaxes, but once he realizes that, he tenses up again. “no, i don’t,” he says, but it seems his words contradict his rapidly beating heart and definitely growing feelings for his partner. it does not help at all that chan can oh so clearly hear the former. hyunjin swallows a lump of embarrassment down his throat.

“your heart is beating quite loudly right now,” chan gives him a knowing look. hyunjin wants to faint and forget about this whole conversation. “so do you like him?”

hyunjin shakes his head slowly. it’s hard to so openly deny it when it’s already so obvious that he has some romantic feelings for jisung. speaking honestly, hyunjin has been denying it to his own self for quite a while now, but it seems it’s getting harder and harder to push down such a big fact . his body acts against his brain’s wishes— the blood rushing to his cheeks, his mouth running dry, his tongue failing to form coherent words, and what may— and that grows more and more terrifying with his feelings. “i don’t like him…”

hyunjin, you are so obvious. do you know that? chan’s voice interrupts hyunjin’s thought spiral. hyunjin’s cheeks flush pink.

“hyung, shut up. i really don’t like him.” but the more hyunjin denies it, the faster and louder his heart beats, and the more obvious he gets.

so would you be alright if jisung went on a date with felix then?

hyunjin whips his head up with knitted brows and chan chuckles, “minho told me about their little dance at the bar. they seem to like each other— hyunjin, i can hear you growl.”

the jealousy drips from hyunjin’s eyes and it’s extremely amusing for chan to see his friend like this.

“don’t touch felix,” chan says half-seriously. “do something about your feelings, jin. you wouldn’t want to lose jisung to someone else now, would you?”

and that was how hyunjin indirectly admitted to both chan and himself his feelings for jisung.

to hyunjin’s misfortune, jisung asks him to go with him to that bar again.

“do you like felix?” hyunjin asks straightforwardly.

jisung almost looks like a deer caught in the headlights. “i mean yeah sure i like him.”

he ’s why you wanna go there again?” jisung can’t seem to read hyunjin’s expression right now.

jisung feels the blood creep up his neck, “i just wanna have fun! and i wanna be a not-so-secret spy.”

the excuse flies over hyunjin’s head. “mhm…okay.”

“so will you come with me or what?” jisung asks with a tilted head, and hyunjin swallows his heart down his throat. jealousy is one thing, and being absolutely smitten by han jisung is another. jisung gets a curt nod for a reply, and it’s enough to have him beaming excitedly.

hyunjin feels a little blue. ‘jisung is that excited to see felix again, huh?’ he thinks to himself.

jisung isn’t lying when he says he likes felix. he does like the guy, but this little crush most definitely stems from his want to not think of his crush on hyunjin . felix is the perfect distraction. a damn beautiful distraction. jisung wants to throw himself off a cliff for using felix like this.

“i think your company doesn’t like us dancing together,” felix chuckles into jisung’s ear. he feels shivers travel down his spine from felix’s whisper, but he feels absolutely fucking frozen when he sees hyunjin stare him and felix down like some fucking prey.

jisung’s mind is short circuiting so badly from how hot hyunjin’s gaze is, that he doesn’t even think of why he’s staring at them like that.

hyunjin feels embarrassed. he heard what felix said to jisung, and he hates how he’s being so obvious right now, but he can’t stop looking at the two. there’s an ugly blob of angry jealousy resting in his stomach right now, and no matter what his brain plans, his body does not want to cooperate.

there’s the urge.

the urge to fucking rip felix off of jisung.

nicely, of course.

hyunjin is so jealous and he gives up on trying to hide it.

eight minutes pass and hyunjin’s patience has enough of it.

seeing hyunjin (intimidatingly) walk his way to them, felix chuckles and taps jisung’s nose before saying goodbye. jisung almost whines at felix’s departure, but he squeaks when hyunjin’s hand grips his shoulder.

“good that he left. i was ready to claw his hands off of you,” hyunjin says with a suspiciously petulant expression.

jisung feels his ears burn. i’m sorry, what did you say?

i said, do you wanna dance with me instead?

there’s a small smile (is that a smirk?) on hyunjin’s face as he holds out a hand for jisung to take. jisung can’t seem to process hyunjin’s actions. i’m sorry, what? jisung asks, puzzled.

hyunjin rolls his eyes, chuckles, then rests his forearms on jisung’s shoulders as he moves to the beat of the speakers. jisung gets flustered, but he swallows the butterflies down and smiles. he relaxes his tense shoulders and dances with hyunjin, just as they would when they have fun together.

they get lost in the fun of the night that they don’t notice the two knocked out men on the counter, and a rather proud minho cleaning a jigger.

jisung thinks about hyunjin again.

after what happened that night, jisung has been thinking and thinking . what is he supposed to do when hyunjin acted like he had heart eyes for jisung that night?! “good that he left. i was ready to claw his hands off of you”— just exactly what is jisung supposed to do about the fact that hyunjin had said that ?

it is so horribly bad how badly he wants to kiss hyunjin again.

and all hyunjin did was fucking touch his lips too many times for it to be okay half an hour ago!

now, they’re here again. not the gay bar, no.

instead, they’re at the movie theater they were blacklisted from. why and how did they get blacklisted from a movie theater? that is a story jisung would never be tired of telling. (hyunjin doesn’t feel the same way. he still sulks about how he has to travel twice the distance just to watch a movie because the nearest one fucking hates him. and it’s all jisung’s fault.)

what are they doing at an establishment they’re forever (not really) blacklisted from?

“i love being a fucking secret spy,” jisung so expectedly says.

hyunjin goes over every decision he has made today, from saying yes to jisung’s “let’s follow minho-hyung and chan-hyung on their date today!” to putting on ridiculous costumes— large glasses and even larger hoodies— to not be recognized by either the guards or their hyungs.

the things i fucking do for you , hyunjin’s voice barks in jisung’s mind. jisung suddenly feels his brain get fuzzy. what the hell does hyunjin mean “for you”? he’s been really straightforward like this recently, and jisung doesn’t know what to make of it. jisung knows he has feelings for hyunjin. if hyunjin has feelings for him, though, he’s not entirely sure of.

hyunjin smiles to himself when he sees jisung’s slightly dazed reaction. even hyunjin is surprised by how he’s been acting lately. he’s not really complaining, though. jisung’s reactions are worth it.

jisung doesn’t really know why he just suddenly hopped over to hyunjin and asked if he wanted to stalk minho and chan. an annoying voice in his head says that he did it simply because he wanted to do something fun with hyunjin, but he shuts it down, even though he knows perfectly well that it is most definitely right.

they see the familiar pair of heads coming out of the giant doors and hyunjin and jisung immediately back up against the wall.

then suddenly, hyunjin’s lips are on jisung’s again.

jisung just wants to die. what do you mean he’s kissing hyunjin again? after weeks of wishing he could kiss those stupidity perfect lips of his again, jisung finally gets to? just because they’re trying not to get caught again? the universe seems to be on jisung’s side these days. but still. he wants to die.

WHY ARE WE KISSING AGAIN , jisung internally screams. he hears hyunjin mentally shush him.

and then he feels hyunjin move his lips. oh god.

now, among the three kisses they’ve shared, this is on a whole other level. and jisung is not complaining whatsoever. the first two were chaste. this third one is, to put it simply, fucking hell .

how the hell is jisung supposed to not want to kiss hyunjin again after this ??

when hyunjin pulls away, there’s a soft smile on his face. jisung, on the other hand, is red and ready to fucking faint. he opens his mouth to demand for an answer or something, but his throat is too dry to let out any sound other than a raspy “wow”.

jisung looks around to see where minho and chan have gone, and they are nowhere to be found. “did you just—”

“they turned their heads this way,” hyunjin says, but the playful smile on his lips makes jisung question the truth in his words.

jisung just nods though. he’ll take that.

jisung can’t think straight anymore. and with how hyunjin occasionally steals glances at him with that stupid fucking smile on his face, he doesn’t think he can ever think straight anymore. maybe this whole stalking minchan thing wasn’t such a good idea. sure, he got a hot kiss from it, but if he looks at hyunjin one more time, jisung swears he’s gonna explode and/or collapse. maybe both if the universe lets him.

hyunjin is stuck in his own world. he’s feeling happy and pink. he feels rather proud of himself, actually, for stealing a kiss from jisung just like that. in truth, neither minho nor chan were looking their way. he just kissed jisung for the sake of it. just because he wanted to. well, it seems jisung doesn’t know that, so that’s a little secret he’ll keep to himself for a bit.

hyunjin looks around to see couples scattered around the hall. holding hands, laughing together like they’re in their own world, being publicly affectionate with each other— it would be a lie if hyunjin said he wasn’t a little bit envious.

maybe it’s about time he makes a proper move on jisung.

maybe he should tell jisung that the whole “they turned their heads this way” thing was just an excuse.

feeling rather brave, hyunjin makes up his mind.

jisung. are you there? hyunjin knocks on jisung’s mind, fitting enough because jisung was kind of zoning out already.

“what?” jisung turns his head to look at hyunjin, raising a brow in question. his cheeks are still dusted a little pink. he can’t stop thinking about that kiss.

hyunjin leans in with a soft smile on his face. in a whisper, he says, “that was just an excuse to kiss you.”

all brain functions shut down for jisung.

this isn’t good for his health.

hyunjin pulls back with a smug expression. “neither minho-hyung nor chan-hyung were looking.” he steals a glance at jisung’s current state, and he fails at keeping a giggle from escaping his lips. the way jisung seems so frozen in place is too cute for hyunjin to handle.

“hyunjin,” jisung finally speaks. hyunjin hums in reply. “hyunjin, i swear to god, you are so fucking vague. can you like— tell me straight? what are you trying to say? i’m gonna go crazy deciphering your actions, and i might just end up eating your face.”

hyunjin blinks thrice, processing what jisung had just said. jisung’s face looks as serious as ever. there’s hope sparkling in his eyes, and his heart is beating loudly and unrhythmically against his chest.

hyunjin snaps out of his short little trance and smiles, feeling a little giddy. he has to confess it all now, he guesses. “that was just an excuse to kiss you.

“i like you, han jisung. i like you a lot. that’s how i’d put it in short words.”

“and,” jisung takes a breath, “and if you put it in long words?”

hyunjin chuckles. “then i like you. so much that it’s so hard to hide it. i stopped trying to hide it the moment we danced together at that bar. i admit, i was jealous of felix. and he was right, too, i didn’t like you two dancing together. i like you, jisung. i don’t know when it started, but it’s happened. i fell for you and your idiocy.”

jisung wants to hear those words come out of hyunjin’s mouth again. but judging from how he can hear hyunjin’s heart beat so concerningly loud in his ribcage, he won’t make him suffer.

jisung can only manage a breathy laugh and a heart-shaped smile. he can feel the tips of his ears burning, but that’s not what he should be focusing on at the moment. he should be focusing on how hwang hyunjin just confessed his romantic feelings for him, to him.

the universe really does seem to be on jisung’s side these days.

“i like you too, you pervert,” is the first thing that comes out of jisung’s mouth. hyunjin laughs at the insult this time. “do you fucking know how much i’ve been wanting to kiss those stupidly perfect lips of yours ever since you kissed me at that bar?!” jisung pokes at hyunjin’s chest. after a second, he ends up hugging hyunjin. “i like you a lot, too. take responsibility for all the brainrot you’ve caused me.”

and there, they share their fourth kiss. this one is the most different one among all their shared kisses.
