“Oh no no no no…..This can’t be!”
Yoimiya ruffled through her bag in panic, then checked underneath her laptop and desk and to her dismay, she found nothing. She gulped, looking at the time on her watch.
It was 08:23, and her assignment file was nowhere to be seen.
“Crap.”
And above all, it was Ms. Ei’s class. She was a rather straightforward lecturer who did not cut shortcuts through grades, and it was becoming clear she would be doomed if she had a late submission; her grades are just getting by as is.
Being an engineer sure is hard, especially if your dream was to become a pyrotechnician like your family before you.
She nervously sweated as she pondered what to do. Glancing to her side, she found her friend sitting right beside her; as diligent as always.
“Ayaka?”
“Hmm? Yes?”
“Uhm, my assignment is left behind.”
Her face switched to one of worry.
“You can’t keep submitting them late, you’ll have a failure on your report!”
“I know, I know! Just how do I?!? I can’t run back now, I won’t make it back here in time!” Yoimiya starts to panic a little, Ayaka trying to calm her nerves. This in turn attracted the attention of her other friend, seated behind them.
“Yoimiya? Is something wrong?”
“O-oh, nothing. My assignment is just left behind again.” she says, finally admitting she’d probably get the bad end of it now. Xiao’s face didn’t change, as befitting his rather emotionless character.
“Hmm, that’s a shame.” He looked to his side to find Ganyu, apparently not paying much attention as she’s looking at her phone while giggling here and there.
“Hey, Ganyu? You’re not listening?” The poor girl was startled, and nearly dropped her phone.
“A-ah, sorry! I was texting Aether. He said he was on his way and just passing by the female dormitory building with Kazuha and Lumine.” She said, a shy blush on her face. Xiao scoffed, Ayaka just gave a side eye, but Yoimiya’s face lit up.
“Wait! I’ve got it!” Without much word, she bolted out of the class, dialling her phone on the way.

“I told you, this is a little too close to the starting time, Aether. We could be late for all its worth!”
“Oh, Lulu please, just relax, we’re not going to be late.”
“Hehe, he’s right, Lumine. We’ll be fine.”
The blond girl pouted, walking beside her twin and one of their friends.
A phone rang. Kazuha reached in his pocked to find his phone ringing, indicating that he is being called. Looking at the caller ID, a smile makes its way to her face. “Hang on, you guys go ahead. I got a call.”
Aether and Lumine both nodded, walking on while bickering like siblings do. Standing next to a tree, he picks the phone up as he leans into it with his back.
“Yes, Miya?”
“Kazu? Are you still walking to campus?”
“Yes, I’m just passing the female dormitory. We picked Lumine up.”
“Oh! Good! I need your help!”
“What is it?”
“My assignment is left behind again. Hehe~”
He visibly scrunched his eyebrows, facepalming.
“Miya, you need to be more careful. You wouldn’t want to be left behind in your grades any more than you already are.”
“I know, I know! But just this once? Please? I’ll buy you something later!”
“*Sigh* Okay, I’ll fetch it for you. I still have your spare key anyway.”
“Yay! Thanks Kazuha! I love you!”
“Don’t repeat this again, Yoimiya. You’re making it a habit.”
“I promise I won’t!!”
“Alright, I’ll be there. Love you.”
He hangs up the phone, before walking a little backwards and into the female dorms with a sigh. It would be weird if he was seen in the area, but with most students already up and in their classes, or at least on the way, he didn’t need much to contend with in the end.

It was 08:28, and their lecturer could be here any moment.
Yoimiya was sweating bullets right now, visibly shaking in her seat. Even her stomach, empty and rumbling angrily due to her skipping breakfast, was not registered in her mind. She nervously looked back between her phone and the door, hoping to see him before her.
“Miya, just calm down. You’re going to stress yourself out.” Ayaka says, trying to calm her.
“Well, yeah, but my grades! They’ll plummet if I miss this one! Oh, I’m going to have to retake this course if I fail anymore.” With no sign of him, she sighed, defeated. Yoimiya leant onto the table and covered her face in her arms.
“Damn it, another one that I have to take again.”
“Why is life so hard…I just want to pass and live my life happily.”
“And what makes you think you can’t do that?”
A male voice disturbs her thoughts, and her eyes immediately light up as she peered up to find Kazuha looking back at her as he stands beside her desk, her assignment file in hand. “Here, I hope I wasn’t late for it.”
“K-Kazu!”
“Ssht, Ms. Ei’s coming in soon. You can thank me later. Also, here.”
He places down a can of coffee and a plastic of chocolate bread on her table. Yoimiya blinked a few times, looking at him for an explanation.
“Your breakfast was still in the microwave when I arrived. Figured you hadn’t had it since you seemed to be rushing. It was apparent due to the fact that you left this back at your room.”
“A-ah.” Her cheeks began to redden.
“Take care of yourself more, Miya. I wouldn’t want you sick or too stressed out. And try to bring your assignments with you, yeah?”
Kazuha sneaks a slight peck onto her cheek while leaning down. “Don’t get caught eating. I’ll see you later, my 女王.” He whispers, retreating back and out of the room with a smile as their lecturer walks in for the day.
Yoimiya simply looked at him as he walked out, her face red from ear to ear with steam pouring out of her head. Her hands were shaking slightly as she touched the portion of her face where his lips landed a quick one just seconds prior.
Behind her, Ganyu and Aether giggled to themselves while Xiao just huffed slightly.
“My, my, what a gentleman.”
“Ooh, someone’s lovestruck.”
Ayaka held a light giggle, looking at her friend’s flustered reaction.
“Yoimiya, why does he have your room key, again?” She asked with a playful tune.
“G-guys! Stop teasing me!” Yoimiya said, her voice high in embarrassment
“As you wish, your majesty.” Aether remarked, a little on the smug side. Ganyu stifled her own laugh with her hand, though mostly failing.
Embarrassed, Yoimiya dug her face into her jacket on the table, wanting to just hide in her own little hole after that.
Deep down though, she smiled wide. Despite being incessantly teased, she didn’t really mind much.
She was just happy to have him.
