"Congratulations on winning the best actor award again Mr. Hong!" The interviewer congratulated the man sitting right across him
"Thank you" Jay smiled at him
"5 consecutive years! How did you manage to do that Mr. Hong? Are you motivated by something? Or someone?" The interviewer chuckled as he asked
Jay's lips formed a sad smile "Well I just try to be in character. I try to understand how my character would feel, I try to think like the character I'm acting as for the best results"
"Oh, that must be very hard then?"
"It requires time getting used to. As for your second question earlier, yes. I do infact have someone I offer my achievements to"
"Aww that's so sweet! That person must be so lucky to have you"
"Quite the opposite actually" Jay chuckled "I'm the lucky person"
"Is that person here with you right now? Do you mind if we call them upstage?"
Jay avoided the interviewer's gaze "Well the thing is, we're not together anymore. We broke up 5 years ago"
The whole studio went silent because of the sudden confession the actor
"5 years have passed and yet you still dedicate your achievnents to that person... Do you mind if I ask why you two broke up?"
"Some things are just not meant to be. And that thing is us"
The room was silent, everybody was waiting for him to continue
"We're doing well. No problems and arguments and all then we had a topic about our careers..."
"Dani"
"Yes my beloved Mr. Hong?"
"Don't say that" the flustered Jay is covering his face. "It's making me blush Daniel"
Daniel laughed, he approached the flustered man and removed his hands from covering his red face "But you look cute when you blush"
"Dani...!!"
"Okay okay" the smaller man laughed "What is it?"
"I'm just wondering when you want to make this relationship public" Jay asked as he cupped the frozen Daniel's face
"Jay, I thought we talked about this? We have our own images to protect" Daniel removed Jay's hand from his face which startled the other
"Yes we did talk about it and I know that we have to protect our reputation. It's just that... I want to brag about you publicly. I was wondering if maybe we could come out to the public the sooner the better"
"Jay, you can't. Not now especially that you're a nominee for the best actor award. Imagine how this thing would ruin your image! We can't afford that"
"But Dani, I choose you over my career. You're much more important to me than this stupid career of mine"
"Jay. We're both actors, just listen to me. Going public isn't good for us"
"Dani..."
"I'm sorry. I love you, trust me I do. It's just, I can't sacrifice my career as an actor for you" Dani said, looking away from Jay who's currently observing him
Jay stood there for a moment. He was shocked, confused, sad, angry?? - no, he's not angry, he's upset. He was having mixed emotions. He just stared at his lover, trying to see if he's just joking but no matter how much he looked at it, Daniel looks so serious.
The silence in the room was deafening. Jay was about to say something but Daniel beat him to it "Sorry Jay, I think it's best if we should take a break" he gave the blonde man a sad smile
Before Daniel could leave him, Jay grabbed Daniel by the wrist and pulled him to a tight hug and buried his head in Daniel's neck
"I'm sorry. I understand, let's stay private. I'm okay with it, just please don't do this. I don't know what I'd do without you" and before he knew it, tears started leaving his eyes making Daniel's shirt wet
"I don't wanna do this either but I think this is the best decision for us both. I will only drag you down Jaeyeol" he tried to get out from Jay's tight hug but it was to no avail "Jay, please let me go"
It took him a while of persuasion before Jay finally let him go from the hug. Jay immediately looked away to hide his crying face
"Go" he said
Daniel just looked at him before gently touching his face "Please don't cry" he wiped the tears off Jay's face before planting a soft kiss on his cheeks "I love you"
"..."
"I'm sorry" the black haired male apologized again before leaving the unit
"I will wait for you" Jay whispered to himself "No matter how long, will still wait"
"Yeah well shit happens, it's unavoidable. During those times, I thought that maybe I'm not good enough for him. I thought that maybe he's not proud of me. That's what kept me going. I thought that maybe if I strive harder, he would come back" Jay grinned
"Well... Did he?"
"He didn't"
"Do you have anything to say to that person Mr. Hong?"
"Dani, if you're watching this. I just want to let you know that I'm still waiting. I hope you're proud of me"
"Thank you for this night Mr. Hong, I enjoyed your company. Congratulations again as well"
"Thank you"
And with that, the show ended
