Chapter Text
Once again, but this time it's Tuesday. Jimin doesn't understand how so far he has managed to get to the gym at the same time that he does. It doesn't matter what time it is exactly, this extremely attractive guy is always here. Jimin even has mused about him living somewhere close to the gym.
Jimin never saw that man till last Tuesday. Apparently, the stranger had a different workout schedule, but he is definitely not a newbie: loose tank-top shows off strong arms, and not that long shorts don't cover fairly muscular legs. It's not that Jimin stares, just hard to miss it.
You're going to run out of your fingers while trying to count how many times did their eyes met. Wasn't Jimin so shy he would become acquainted with this guy years ago, but it's out of his character. He worries too much about the opinions of others. Realizing that you can't live this way your whole life is a different story because getting out of your comfort zone is clearly more difficult to do.
Taking some rest after another set the stranger wipes off the sweat that has appeared on his forehead and gulps water out of his bottle. His brown hair falls down onto his eyes and Jimin never wanted to touch someone's hair more in his life.
Jimin comes back to his own working out session and for the rest of it tries not to think about things that have nothing to do with the training. It's not that he succeeds but he's determined, that's why when he is almost done, there is no sight of the guy. To his disappointment does he try not to pay attention.
“Minnie, I told you to approach him and just say hi for a start,” says Hoseok while laying down on the sofa in front of the TV that translates UK news. It's definitely Jimin's cup of tea to watch shows in English, they are a lot of help in learning to understand a language by ear. Obviously, you don't comprehend everything but you can pick up on some words and expressions.
“And I told you it's easier said than done,” Jimin rolls his eyes and takes a sip of beer. “Don't you know how awkward I get when it comes to talking to strangers?”
“I love you and all but eventually you'll end up alone in the company of cats. It doesn't sound that horrible but..” Jimin throws a pillow at Hoseok, his lips pouty, and Hoseok just laughs it off.
To be honest, he has always understood Jimin best of all, they have been friends since the first year of elementary school. Not trusting a person who helped to tear off gum of your hair on the first school day is a hard thing to do. Don't ask how it happened...
From Hoseok's point of view to sit on one's hands won't help with developing your personal life. If you find a person you are into, it's needed to try to overcome your shyness and try to get to know them. Jimin himself agrees with that but once again it's easier said than done.
“Minnie, I don't know, in case of an emergency trip over something and fall down onto the floor in front of him. He might help you to get up and here you go, happily married and live long and happy!” Hoseok rapidly gesticulates with his hands while grinning pretty wide.
Jimin looks at his friend sullenly and in turn, he makes a gesture of locking his mouth with a non-existing key.
“You might step on it by accident,” says a deep voice. Jimin raises up his head and there is none other than that attractive stranger. He's just finished working out on his abs when the guy appears next to him somehow. Only in a few seconds does Jimin realize he actually talks to him.
"What?"
“If you leave your phone on the floor, you might step on it,” the stranger glances at Jimin's phone which peacefully rests near the ab crunch machine. He bends over, takes it, and puts it on the top of the machine afterward, “Here, it's safer this way” says he, still with that deep voice of his that makes Jimin shiver.
He is still trying to comprehend what is happening. The guy leaves him before he even says thank you. To say Jimin is confused is an understatement.
What the hell just happened...
The living room is filled with laughter and the light which comes off the lamp in the shape of an apple standing on the table. Jimin tries to mimic the dancing movements of Seokjin's nephew while others loudly discuss some movie. Today the six friends have gathered up in Seokjin's house. It's been three years since everyone found a job, the life has become much more stable, naturally, it leads to a lack of personal life. That's why some time ago they come up with a rule which proclaims that every Friday evening should be spent with friends in order to share things you have on your plate. Of course, they have chat where they can text and all, it's just sometimes the tiredness is too goddamn huge they don't even know to pick up their phones.
“Taehyung's almost here. He said he would wrap up earlier today,” hears Jimin.
Taehyung is Namjoon's colleague. After graduating from university Namjoon opened up his own bookstore. He worked alone at first but recently came to the conclusion, he couldn't stand it anymore. Therefore he found himself an assistant.
Jimin is the only person who never met Taehyung, even though he heard of him a lot. He's twenty-six, was born the same year as Jimin, and originally is from Daegu. He attended the local university and specialized in the advertisement but something happened and he had to move to Seoul.
Kyungsoo is still trying to teach Jimin new dancing movements of his last breakdance class. The elder is so invested in the process that he is completely oblivious to the fact that their company has got bigger. Kyungsoo is trying to do a head spin and Jimin almost falls down onto the floor because of how hard he's laughing. He trips and loses his balance for a moment. To his great relief, someone's hand tugs him on his elbow and keeps him in place. Jimin turns his head, still laughing. What in the world...
He is met with brown eyes full of sincere interest. Jimin slowly draws his gaze away from a forehead to a nose to, finally, lips that by the way are stretched in a slight smirk. Jimin swallows heavily and a “new face” (that attractive guy from the gym squeaks Jimin's inner voice) follows that movement.
“You must be Jimin,” says the strang- Taehyung, “The boys told me a lot about you”.
