Work Text:

Here you were, alone on Valentine’s Day again. Sure, it had been a while since you and your former partner had split up, but you were looking forward to spending the holiday with someone this year.

Maybe baking something would get your mind off of it.

So you found yourself in the base kitchen at 2 am making cookies. You had made a bit of a mess, flour and sugar messily strewn on the counter. But it felt good to be a little careless, you’d just clean it up after you were done.

You begin shaping the dough just as you hear footsteps coming towards the kitchen.

“Can’t sleep, lass?”

Demo, perfect.
Demo was the reason you had to split up with your partner. Not that it was his fault, at least nor directly. You just realized you were trying to deny your feelings by involving yourself in another relationship.

“Lass?”

You should probably reply to him. “Yeah, something like that.” You sound a little more standoffish than you meant to.

He comes closer. “You okay, love?”

God, could he stop being so sweet?

“Yeah, just fine. Why are you up?” You try steering the topic in another direction.

“I couldn’t sleep, either.” He leans against the counter, right next to you. “Want some help with that?” He motions to the dough.

Maybe you could spend Valentine’s Day with Demo, just not the way you’d like. “Yeah, I’d appreciate that.”

Demo washes his hands and starts to help. “So, want to tell me what’s really going on?” Can he really see through you that easily?

You sigh, no point in trying to hide it. “I guess I was just looking forward to spending the holiday with my partner.” You avoid eye contact as you place dough on the cookie sheets.

“Aye, I get it. Sorry about that, by the way.”

“Not your fault.” Yes it was. If he wasn’t so charming it wouldn’t be like this.

It’s silent even as you place the cookie sheets in the oven. You lean back against the counter, staring at the floor and making no effort to continue the conversation. The silence quickly grew uncomfortable, and you silently wished you could just get over your feelings and be cool.

“You got a problem with me, lass?”

Your eyes snap up to his, he doesn’t look mad, just a little hurt. “What? No.” You shake your head. There’s a pause, as if he’s waiting for you to elaborate. You don’t.

Then, he’s stepping closer to you. He reaches down and grabs you by your bottom, lifting you to sit on the counter. You don’t struggle, just gasp and silently curse as you feel flour and sugar coat your skin.

Demo stands between your legs, his hands caging your thighs. His face is dangerously close to yours, and his voice is quiet as he speaks. “Being passive aggressive with me isn’t going to work, hope you know that, lamb.”

Lamb? Fuck.

His hand moves to tilt your chin up, and he looks you straight in the eye. “Tell me what’s wrong.”

You let out a sigh of frustration. Whatever, you’ll just confess if he won’t let up. “It’s your fault I’m not with my partner anymore.”

His eyebrows furrow. “My fault?” He looks part confused and part offended.

You look him in the eye, if he really wants to push you, you’ll just admit it face on. “You and your stupid face, stupid eyepatch, stupid accent.” A hurt expression crosses his face. “You made me like you.”

His face softens. “You like me?”

“What’d I just say?” You snark.

Then, his lips are on yours. It’s a sweet kiss, it makes you feel like you can breathe again. You’re going to cry if this is another dream. Your hands come to the back of his head to press his face further into the kiss.

Eventually he breaks the kiss off, resting his forehead against yours. He presses a kiss to your nose before he pulls away.

You stare at him in awe. This was real, Demo just kissed you. “You’re really fucking pretty.”

Demo laughs and pecks your lips. “You’re real fuckin’ pretty too, lamb.” His hands run up and down your thighs, the teasing bastard.

Lamb.

He kisses you again, and it’s just a bit more intense. He gently bites at your bottom lip, then swipes his tongue across it as if to apologize. His hands trail further up your thighs, under your t-shirt that you may or may not have stolen from Heavy.

He growls and pulls back, pushing the shirt up to your stomach. “Couldn’t bother with pants?” He jokes as he snaps the elastic of your underwear.

“Don’t act like you don’t like it.”

He raises an eyebrow at you, moving his hand to trace the waistband and coming dangerously close to sliding inside. “Didn’t say all that, did I, lamb?”

Lamb.

“Then why don’t you start acting like it and actually touch me.”

“Think I’m already doing that.” He smirks at you as he pulls his hand away and back down to your thigh.

“You know what I mean.”

He pecks your lips for a second time. “Nuh-uh, gonna need you to be more specific.”

You stare him in the eye defiantly. “Yeah? Well, I want you to stop being such a tease and just put your hand down my pants already!”

Demo tilts his head at you as if he’s confused. “You’re not wearing pants, silly lamb.”

Lamb.

You’re about to grab his hand when the timer for the cookies goes off. He pulls away completely and goes to grab them out of the oven.

Tease.
