Work Text:
Cold, dark, and oozing with despair. A place flooded with monsters, and filled to the brim with death and shattered hopes. That is the 𝘢𝘣𝘺𝘴𝘴. A ruthless realm, merciless upon it's inhabitants. A place not fitting for a 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘦 teenager. Yet, you ended up there.
With only a short sword in your hand, you fend for yourself. Fight after fight, bruise after bruise. It was too much to handle for a child only learning of the world.
Lucky you, a swordswoman came to your aid. She goes by 𝘚𝘬𝘪𝘳𝘬, and a mysterious yet powerful aura exudes from her. She taught you techniques of combat, ways to survive in this 𝘩𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘴𝘩 place.
Day by day, you grow stronger. The exit to this place seeming to be just a hair's breadth away.
𝘐𝘴 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘨𝘩𝘵.
No matter what technique, what move you try, it seemed to be futile against 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 being. It was unlike any other you've encountered so far. It's movements similar to yours yet his is 𝘧𝘢𝘳 superior.
You laid there defeated, helpless. Your life hanging by a thread and your consciousness fading in and out. You thought of your family, your father that would tell you about his adventures, your 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵, 𝘴𝘸𝘦𝘦𝘵 siblings.
As the being's blade neared your chest, a voice halted it's movement. Your senses we're fading and yet, you could tell that the voice, sounded divine, majestic. It sounded like it didn't belong to this place, it sounded 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥𝘭𝘺.
“𝘗𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴..” The being spoke. You thought the title suits her.
You hear 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 footsteps heading for your direction. And in a flash, gold and white entered your vision. Your vision is blurry but you could tell of her features. Her golden eyes that looked cold yet full of ambition, her lips pressed in an expressionless line.
The person above you leaned down and cupped your cheeks. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 it's because you haven't felt a human's touch in a long time, but her touch felt like a 𝘎𝘰𝘥'𝘴 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦, it felt like 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯.
“You're not supposed to be here.” A pause, and you swear you saw amusement dance in her eyes. “You seem to be a seasoned warrior despite being so young. Both amusing and, 𝘱𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭.”
𝘗𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘧𝘶𝘭, indeed. You are pitiful under her gaze, like you aren't deserving to bask in her presence.
“You ended up in this place for who knows how long. Yet, never once, did a God bother to save you. They have abandoned 𝘺𝘰𝘶.” Her words drill into your mind. You're just a boy that longed for adventure. You wanted to be a hero just like those in the tales your father would tell you. You didn't ask of 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴.
“𝘕𝘢𝘮𝘦, give me your name.”
It felt illegal. To tell of such a mighty being your name. But you abide, for who are you to disobey her orders?
“𝘈𝘫𝘢𝘹.” You breathe out.
“𝘈𝘫𝘢𝘹.” Your name sounded so good, being called by such a divine being like her. “Join us, Ajax. Join us in overthrowing those filthy Gods, and I shall provide you strength. I will protect you and those you care for. So join us, join the abyss.”
She needn't provide you anything, you think. Just being by her side is already a great honor. You 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘥 to serve her, to be by her side when she accomplish her goals.
In a beat of a heart, you nod before everything fades to black.

It has been years since then and now you're part of the Fatui. Now, that doesn't mean you betrayed her. This is all just part of her plan, for you to exploit the seven Archons, taking away their gnosis and power.
And now, you stand here in the Golden House to take away Morax' gnosis. Across you stands the carbon copy of your God, hindering your plans.
“As one of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, it's my duty to see the will of the Tsaritsa fulfilled.” 𝘐𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘥𝘶𝘵𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴𝘯'𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦.
“𝙎𝙝𝙚 will get what which she desires.” Indeed, 𝘓𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦 shall get what she desires, for she deserves the whole of Teyvat and you will see it done. 𝘌𝘷𝘦𝘯 𝘪𝘧 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘺, 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘎𝘰𝘥, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘨𝘪𝘷𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘪𝘵 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘩𝘦 𝘢𝘴𝘬𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶.
